The Pembroke in Portsmouth

We were trying to find a “quiet” pub for a drink in Portsmouth on a Saturday night. Albert Road in Southsea was not for us. It was loud and crazy at 6pm. The Pembroke made us welcome, and was a good choice. A real pub with good service. And easy to park nearby.

A great local pub in Old Portsmouth. A good selection of beers and wines. Good tasting real ale 😁 Staff are really helpful, polite and happy. The pub is clean and tidy, with a big thumbs up to the toilets (gents). Accessable to all, although it would be a squeeze for wheelchair users. Plenty of street parking in the local area, at a cost. Enjoy 🍺🍺

Two stars for food as they have some (rolls). I go there specifically for the Bass, but always a nice friendly atmosphere.

Had my first Pusser's rum here. It's a traditional pub, pretty decent. They need to sort out the women's WC though because it's easy to get trapped in there with the weird lock.

A corner pub close to the Garrison Church that does a good pint of Bass.

Stumbled over this pub. Ambience and friendliness of the barman and the locals immense. Immediately felt relaxed and "@ home".

You basic tradition British Pub. Perfect for a drink and a meal. I stumbled upon but would certainly go back.

Visited last weekend, very friendly pub. The staff Paige and Matthew were lovely and friendly. Enjoyed it so much on Friday we were back there on Saturday.

One of the few proper boozers left in the city and it's a great little place, the bar staff are really friendly and welcoming, a good atmosphere and only a 2 minute walk to the sea.

Popped in for a drink. Friendly local in a great position. Will visit again soon!

Many thanks yesterday afternoon to the young man behind the bar with a shot Mohican style haircut with shaved sides. Great reception and lovely pint or 3 of Abbots ale and pink gin and tonics for Anth on her birthday. Sorry we couldn’t get back today. Forgot we were going home. Good drinking pub nice landlord nice locals don't need anything more

This is a traditional pub of which few remain. Good beer of good quality and a clean welcoming interior. The landlord is a smashing bloke and adds to the atmosphere. I used to drink here after work 25 years ago and it has stayed a quality institution. We spent a very pleasant lunch time here. A great return visit.
