My wife had called in advance to reserve a table and was told that only large parties could make reservations. Fully appreciate an ad-hoc visit would be risky on Fathers Day. On arrival, we were told it could be a 45 minute wait for a table. We decided that was ok and sat upstairs on the bar stool eating area. Sadly after a genuine 30 minute wait with no interaction for as much as a coffee order (let alone food), we decided to leave. A real shame as the building, the outdoor area and the food we saw being served was top notch. If the service isn't there, the aforementioned is irrelevant sadly. Totally understand that the ad-hoc arrivals of guests is more financially lucrative than a reservations system, but have a non-refundable deposit scheme on the certain days of the year (Father's Day / public hols etc) to protect against no-shows customers. A shortage of staff for the amount of customers was far from ideal.

Where do I start? We visited the Pedaler in the Yard, to try for the first time. When we arrived, it was not very busy, and we sat at our table inside for six people. My Sister placed her order first, asking for an English Breakfast, but asked the waitress if she could have a sausage "instead of" tomatoes, & mushrooms? And the waitress replied “Yes”, so I asked for the same, simple. However, when we went to pay, we were actually charged full English Breakfast price, plus £3.00 for each of the two extra sausages! When I challenged the bill, saying “how can you legally charge an extra £3.00 per sausage, when we were told a simple “Yes” to the question of Exchanging two vegetable options each for one sausage” I was told by the Manageress that it was a miscommunication. I said it was a simple “Yes”, or “No” answer. Despite being told “Yes” we could EXCHANGE two vegetable dishes each for one sausage, we were not offered a refund of the £3.00 per sausage, what turned out to be an Extra, not exchanged sausage, just an apology. Other concerns: - Hot coffee was served in a China cup without handle, with no thermal break cup holder, or other means to prevent burning to fingers, or dropping hot cup of coffee? We had an extra tea cup, so transferred the coffee over to make safe. - Salt & Pepper served in small Spice jars with flip open lids? That’s it, no spoon, or other implement was issued to remove the contents, thus keeping the contents hygienically clean for the next customer. My father is partially sighted, and tried to sprinkle from the open lid, without success. - Long wait for Breakfast, considering the place was half empty. So, after waiting for the breakfast, by which time, we could have had the table laid with cutlery, & sauces, but these came out after the Breakfasts were served. - £2.00 for one x 5mm slice of black pudding. Good points: - - Tea cups are without handles, but are made of a Thermal break material. - Very Good parking facilities, (including disabled bays). - Disabled access slope next to disabled parking bays. - Very well-presented building, both inside and outside. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g3681139-d26446085-r953380099-The_Pedaler_in_The_Yard-Manston_Isle_of_Thanet_Kent_England.html#

Tried this coffee shop for the first time. It's a lovely place but unfortunately we won't be returning. The coffee was luke warm, the sausages were luke warm, but most importantly, they don't take cash.... It's still legal tender, nowhere should dictate how you spend your money!

Both outdoors and indoors was welcoming. Food was amazing and worth every penny. Staff were friendly. Sit upstairs if you’re into biking, plenty of bits to look at and read. Managed a cheeky cake too.

This place is a lovely atmosphere however one of our servers was quite rude. I didn’t catch her name however she was blonde and a slim figure. Her skirt was so short and her attitude was rude. I expected more from this restaurant. Food was great.

Sunday dinner with the family . Warm welcome, very busy but they coped well . Sunday roasts were lovely , plenty of meat , roasties in a bowl . We ordered pigs in their blankets as an extra well worth it . Prices were very reasonable , will return.

Great atmosphere, good food, nice position. Staff friendly but inappropriate lack of attention to basic details. We waited ages to be seated despite booking. We told them when we booked 2 guests could not have shellfish and reminded them when we ordered yet they included scallops on the plate. Totally unapologetic despite the risks of anaphylactic reactions. Not once were we asked about allergies. Excessively burnt sourdough was described as intentionally carbonised, the yapping dog under the table next to us was intrusive and could no way be described as an assistance dog and the service was very slow.
