Aussie restaurant but no chicken Parmigiana on Australia Day. ;( It was taken off the menu months ago but not bought back for Australia Day. Sad local Aussies.

Really impressed with the food from this place. I found it on Deliveroo and ordered the fried chicken and pancakes, as well as the Nasi Goreng. The pancakes were fresh, fluffy, and just right. I appreciated that the syrup was served on the side rather than drizzled on top, as I prefer to control how much I use. The Nasi Goreng was packed with delicious flavors and tasted fantastic. Both dishes were thoroughly enjoyable, and I’ll definitely be ordering from here again!

This is our everyday coffee/restaurant. We live it! Food it’s really good. The menu hasn’t change much and it Can do with a bit of changes.

This has to be one of the most cosy places to eat. Their food is a beautiful fusion of Asian/Western kitchens and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely place for relaxing, working and beautiful food.

I used to live on Plough Way and the Pear Tree was my favourite restaurant to visit as the food was of a high quality and the service was impeccable. After having visited multiple times on my own and with family, it brings me such sadness to say that my family and I will not be visiting again. I would firstly like to say that in general, service was not an issue. The young man who greeted us and the young blonde lady who served us for the majority of our meal were both kind, considerate and provided good service. From our drinks order, the vanilla milkshakes we ordered were lovely however the mochas we ordered arrived tepid and extremely bitter. After requesting the drinks extra hot, the lady in red (who we presume was manager) asked us if we wanted them warmed in the microwave or redone. My family and I found this to be a strange request as I have never been asked this in a restaurant or coffee shop prior. Please also bear in mind I have worked within the service industry in various coffee shop/ restaurants and would never ask a customer whether they wanted their coffee order reheated in the microwave. The chicken tenders and pancakes were delicious and loved by all at our table however we found the grilled chicken sandwich lacking. We know that this dish doesn’t come toasted (and take responsibility for having ordered this) however we feel it would add to the dish if the sandwich was warmed and toasted to serve. The ambience of the restaurant as always is relaxing (my whole family agreed) and based on this and the service alone I would recommend. I am sure this may have been a one off. However after having experienced high quality food and service before, I would not return again and would not recommend.

Stood in line for ten minutes just for a pastry only to find out it was stale (day old at least) when I got home. Pretty disappointed.

The menu is AMAZING. The prawn toast (in my pics) is my absolute fave - really delicious. I had a birthday brunch here a few days ago and asked for a table for around 15 people and for a small restaurant they made some accommodations and it was one of the best birthdays. Really lovely place and as an ex Aussie i appreciate all the snacks! Tim tams and all!

Enjoy a pleasant meal in the beautifully decorated restaurant with top service by Tom. Surprisingly tasty combinations in the dishes. Nice wines. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to say thank you to the staff for being so accommodating and nice. ❤️ been here twice now with my family and the experience has always been positive. Loved the food, the choices and the vibe.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly the new French chap and the manager. I came for a snack and a coffee with my laptop to do a little work. The fries were perfect: crispy and crunchy and generous but for nearly £5 you would expect them to be spot on! Ketchup is free but mayo is an extra 50p😱 The oat hot chocolate was good which is why I've only put 4/5* for the "food" as a combination of the drink and fries. Oat milk is a bit of tricky milk to work with so I appreciate it can be hard to make it creamy. I'm very much a fan of places these days that don't put on the American "service charge" and this cafe doesn't do that's a big thumbs up from me. You can choose to add one and that's what it should be in England so well done The Pear Tree for not just acting like the majority to make awkward English folk to embarrassed to mention it! Overall I'd definitely come back as it has a nice atmosphere, brilliant staff and good looking menu.

My favourite local. Food is fresh and tasty. Whole family can order what they like. Atmosphere is relaxed. You can sit and have a coffee with friends air a meal with family. Perfect for brunch!

Love this place, my partner and I go all the time and everything we’ve ever ordered has been exceptional. I’m reluctant to give such a high rating because it’s likely to make it harder to book a table in future😂

I have been going to this place for many years now and it never dissapoints. The food quality is amazing from the brunch to the Sunday roast or pancakes..even a simple hot chocolate with a slice of cake is lovely. They clearly use very good produce and the chefs are fantastic. What it is more, the service is wonderful. The waitress know me and they are always so accomodating and nice. But today I went and i didnt know the ones who were there and i had an incident with my baby vomiting all over the floor and table. The staff were so nice and reassuring, they comforted me in spite of the mess. I think this is what makes this place so special, they make you feel at home. I cannot recommend it enough.

It's a nice place. We only tried the Pancakes - banana Pancakes & chicken breast Pancakes. They're good, but very basic. I don't think they're good enough for us to come back or recommend it a lot

First of all, the food is really good and tasty. We went there for the breakfast. Unfortunately the coffee is 50/50: flat white is ok, but cappuccino has unusual proportions: it’s mostly milk and you don’t really feel the coffee. The staff in restaurant was friendly and we felt very welcomed. Be sure: you need to book the table in advance (especially during the weekend), otherwise you would need to wait until a table is free.

Excelente lugar y gente. Profesionales y de primera calidad. Bonita decoración y gente sonriente. La cocina está muy bien pensada y no podría tener mejor sabor. El café es de primera calidad y la relación calidad-precio es normal. Amo a los animales también.

Food was amazing, good vegan options, lovely staff. The vibe was a bit chaotic in there on a Sunday though, loud and not the most relaxing for Sunday roast.

Roast was alright, lacked abit of flavour. Quite cheap compared to over Sunday roast in the area. Very busy so staff are always running around but they are very helpful.

Have had to revise my rating recently, which is sad as it was totally my go-to breakfast spot in the area. They removed the vegan and veggie breakfasts which is a real shame. You can cobble something together but it’s nowhere near what they had. Also the service person left us alone for ages, then just brought the bill over without asking if we wanted anything else. When we said we’d actually like one more drink we were told we’d have to take it away as they needed the table (fair enough but shouldn’t be the first time it’s mentioned). After last experience probably would go elsewhere instead

Almorcé el domingo hoy. Carne asada para mí y el Champiñón y Espinacas ‘Wellington’ para mi pareja. El volumen de charla al otro lado del restaurante fue doloroso. Nadie es excesivamente ruidoso solo el volumen de conversación reflejando y fusionando. Me costó oír a mi pareja sentarse frente a mí. Izquierda con cada dolor similar a estar en concierto. Mi carne asada vino con un enorme y sabroso pudín de Yorkshire, algunas papas, chirivías, zanahorias y verduras verdes. Ojalá las patatas hubieran sido mejor asadas. Le faltó un crujiente que esperaría con una buena papa asada. El ‘Wellington’ de mi compañero eran dos setas grandes con una espinaca entre ellas envuelta en pastelería filo. Le costaba cortar sus patatas y verduras con un cuchillo normal, así que tomó prestado el cuchillo de carne que me habían dado. Hubiera sido tentado con el postre si el ruido no fuera tan horrible. Espero que puedan añadir algo a la decoración para absorber algo del ruido.

Came for a friends birthday. Loved the fusion creativity in the menu. Food was decent and, our waitress was hilarious as she tried to upsell us (successfully) add-ons.

I regularly stop by here for food and the really well priced trays of eggs and coffee. The staff maintain a consistent high standard of service and food quality and it's always nice to visit.

Really tasty, just needs some more veggie options to be even better! A lot of neighbours say it's often too loud, as well.

Peartree is always a pleasant place to visit, we went in for dinner and the food was delicious as always. The service is always friendly and welcoming and I highly recommend you visit.

Fantastic place for brunch or breakfast in the area. Modern nice interior, clean. Friendly hospitable staff. Avocado toasts are great, many other good interesting dishes. Coffee is fine, they have filter options One of the best places to eat and enjoy the place in a mostly residential area. Can be busy on weekends

Nice quiet spot with great food. I went for lunch and had the Mortadella Focaccia but honestly could have chosen anything, the whole menu looked great

The food was delicious and service was great.

So I generally like the pear tree, which is why I placed a delivery. But today my food arrived particularly late, the 'extra chicken' was missing, the chicken altogether was too little in my Caesar salad, the croutons were too oily, the bacon was very burnt, and I even found the stalk of lettuce mixed up with the salad leaves. The food quality is going downhill. Disappointing dinner.

Had latte coffee, which was good and eggs Benedict which unfortunately wasn’t very good. We also ordered Japanese fried chicken which was excellent 👌🏻 Nice friendly staff, and the place is really pretty and clean

Over the last couple years, food went from praise-worthy to kind-of-bland. It's still nice, but not to the point where you want to tell your friends about it. The dips and toasted focaccia are still memorable, though.

We go here a lot. Great neighborhood restaurant with the best matcha ice-cream... The strawberry ice cream is good too. Sometimes my kid and I go just for the ice cream. Ask for the homemade offering, not the mini tubs. (The menu is pretty good too)

Pear Tree is a newly opened cafe hidden behind the main street. They serve a delicious selection of dishes; my table ordered "Duck Hash" & a chicken dish with chips (forgot the name) - served with a tomato sauce & salad. Their food is fresh & every bite is delicious. Cafe is quite quiet and spenny in fact; the portions sizes are not that big either. I recommend coming here if you would like a fancy lunch or dinner. You can even dine in and work too! With more improvements - quality & quantity to complement the price of each item - The Pear Tree would be a spectacular spot for locals. Rating 4-5 stars, supporting local business.

SADLY THE SUNDAY ROAST WAS DISSAPOINTING. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CHEF WAS AWAY. THEY SHOULD HAVE WARNED CUSTOMERS.

Lovely local restaurant near Surrey Quays station. I ordered the crab pasta with tropical mix smoothie; although I didn’t quite like how the pasta tasted and perhaps the combination of both made the pasta taste even bitter, the restaurant was kind enough to offer me a free alternative. I went for the banana pancake, and safe to say it’s the best pancake dish I’ve ever had! My friend went for Duck Hash and we both loved it. Would recommend paying a visit to this restaurant ⭐️

If I have to be completely honest, I absolutely loved this place! The staff is so intelligent and calming with you, the drinks and food are totally AMAZING! It's just I saw lots of waste as I was going to find a seat which kind of disgusted me but in total this place is amazing in a lovely area

Good place for brunch. Food was good, though it can take some time to get served during peak brunch hours. Good selection of dishes and service overall.

Very limited vegan options, and poor allergen labelling on menu, however the vegan option I did have (cauliflower with vegan feta and sweet potato hummus) was incredible, and staff were all lovely.

Our new favourite brunch place. Such delicious food, really interesting and inventive dishes. Delivers well too, but best eaten in. Recommend the prawn toast Benedict for something different to the classic brunch dishes you see everywhere, but the flavours work so well together. The rest of the menu looks fantastic too. They’re dog friendly on the outside tables.

A brilliant restaurant and little deli. Lovely food, very friendly staff. The restaurant has a bistro vibe about it with a regularly changing menu and amazingly tasty food. The deli offers a diverse range of products including some very yummy cakes! A great contribution to the local community.

My quest for London's best Aussie Burger has reached a new peak. This is the place to go if you want to experience the gastronomic hedonism of the classic Aussie Burger With The Lot. And they do a very substantial lamington for dessert.

Such a lovely local restaurant. Very family friendly and cozy. Breakfast choice is great. We also tried black crab pasta and it was fantastic. Better than in Italian restaurants. Highly recommend this place

Had banana pancakes and pancakes with buttermilk fried chicken and both were absolutely yum. Would definitely visit again!

Ordered online and they sent me burned pancakes. Everything else was delicious but this really upset me that a restaurant will deliver burned food to a customer.

Honestly best pancakes ever, way better than where the pancakes are or trade. Stumbled across them accidentally , and wow , will be back!

Wow! I came here 2 years ago for a Vegan Australian Fry up, it was nice but it wasn’t anything special. I came back yesterday and I was blown away, a completely different experience so good I needed to write a review. Firstly our server Harry was so lovely and accommodating throughout our whole meal, we had the fried chicken pancakes and the pulled lamb, both extremely tasty. The food came out fresh, crispy, and so hot which is a rarity, you could see the chefs making up the dishes on the hot counter and I loved how integrated it was. Chefs seemed in a great mood which added a great vibe. I am so pleased with this and really am excited to come back, it’s shot up in my top restaurants and places to eat because of how good. The only thing was the bloody mary was quite peppery but that’s subjective, and not enough maple syrup, again subjective because we love sweet treats. Next time I will be back to have the superfood salad, and the chocolate brownie dessert. Thank you so much.

The food is delicious but they keep increasing the prices and making the portions smaller (especially from their bakery). I recently bought a slice of chocolate cake and it was dry and tiny for what I paid..it’s a shame as I love that deli.

Despite the food was really good, the portions became much smaller. We used to order online superfood and Caesar salads. Last time they were really small, not worth value for money, unfortunately.

Really good spot especially if you love quirky artisan food (which you can pick up in their takeaway section). The coffee is great and reasonably priced for London - I prefer going here than the surrounding coffee shops where they're charging £4.50 (sometimes more) for a small coffee. Food looks really good but haven't eaten in yet so need to give it a try.

Came here for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Place was perfect, no issues catering for her and a few lively kids, plus they let us bring a cake. Excellent children's menu. For the grown ups, the nasi goreng was incredible and the frozen margarita and Charly Chaplin cocktails matched anything I've paid more for at a high end place. Will definitely be back.

You should always book ahead to be guaranteed a seat here, credit to its popularity. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and well portioned. You got veggie options. Sweet and savoury options (the pancakes are the bomb! As are all the breakfasts). Service is very nice and great for a coffee too.

Ordered online for the popular pancakes with fried chicken and maple syrup, and the crispy duck leg hash. Both are very tasty! Will definitely be on my favorite brunch restaurants list.

Really great service, I booked my table for the wrong time and the restaurant manager moved things around so we could sit even though the restaurant was very busy. We had the set menu for Mother's Day and it was great value and super tasty. The shop is also brilliant.

I went here for a couple of times and this place used to be really good, food,coffee cheese, and the service was good. But the last time I was there, food was really bad(wonton noodles taste absolutely terrible and I’m Cantonese Chinese so I think it’s fair judgement, roast chicken was burnt and terribly dry and doesn’t taste like anything) also service was not great, took half an hour to serve the food and the waiter seem unhappy, they also put us at the small table at the corner while nobody else seemed to book other tables

Absolutely killer roast, really delicious. But the tables are tiny and crammed together too close for my liking. Would be a better idea to scrap the shop and give people a comfortable amount of space.

Absolutely one of the best places for brunch in South London! The food is delicious, the coffee is outstanding and the service is fast and efficient. Also, there is a very cute deli at the back!

We love to come around for the food, the breakfast options are soooo good. The staff is super friendly, the coffee is perfect, the natural juices are just what you need to pick you up and the food will definitely make you come back for more. It gets busier on the weekends so do make sure you make a reservation.

I’m really torn. The food is always amazing. But the service is consistently the worst ever. The staff are so surly. From start to finish. Just so terribly unhappy and unhelpful. But great food keeps (at longer and longer intervals) bringing me back.
