So I generally like the pear tree, which is why I placed a delivery. But today my food arrived particularly late, the 'extra chicken' was missing, the chicken altogether was too little in my Caesar salad, the croutons were too oily, the bacon was very burnt, and I even found the stalk of lettuce mixed up with the salad leaves. The food quality is going downhill. Disappointing dinner.

Pear Tree is a newly opened cafe hidden behind the main street. They serve a delicious selection of dishes; my table ordered "Duck Hash" & a chicken dish with chips (forgot the name) - served with a tomato sauce & salad. Their food is fresh & every bite is delicious. Cafe is quite quiet and spenny in fact; the portions sizes are not that big either. I recommend coming here if you would like a fancy lunch or dinner. You can even dine in and work too! With more improvements - quality & quantity to complement the price of each item - The Pear Tree would be a spectacular spot for locals. Rating 4-5 stars, supporting local business.

Lovely local restaurant near Surrey Quays station. I ordered the crab pasta with tropical mix smoothie; although I didn’t quite like how the pasta tasted and perhaps the combination of both made the pasta taste even bitter, the restaurant was kind enough to offer me a free alternative. I went for the banana pancake, and safe to say it’s the best pancake dish I’ve ever had! My friend went for Duck Hash and we both loved it. Would recommend paying a visit to this restaurant ⭐️

I have been going to this place for many years now and it never dissapoints. The food quality is amazing from the brunch to the Sunday roast or pancakes..even a simple hot chocolate with a slice of cake is lovely. They clearly use very good produce and the chefs are fantastic. What it is more, the service is wonderful. The waitress know me and they are always so accomodating and nice. But today I went and i didnt know the ones who were there today and i had an incident with my baby vomiting all over the floor and table. The staff were so nice and reassuring, they comforted me in spite of the mess. I think this is what makes this place so special, they make you feel at home. I cannot recommend it enough.

Wow! I came here 2 years ago for a Vegan Australian Fry up, it was nice but it wasn’t anything special. I came back yesterday and I was blown away, a completely different experience so good I needed to write a review. Firstly our server Harry was so lovely and accommodating throughout our whole meal, we had the fried chicken pancakes and the pulled lamb, both extremely tasty. The food came out fresh, crispy, and so hot which is a rarity, you could see the chefs making up the dishes on the hot counter and I loved how integrated it was. Chefs seemed in a great mood which added a great vibe. I am so pleased with this and really am excited to come back, it’s shot up in my top restaurants and places to eat because of how good. The only thing was the bloody mary was quite peppery but that’s subjective, and not enough maple syrup, again subjective because we love sweet treats. Next time I will be back to have the superfood salad, and the chocolate brownie dessert. Thank you so much.

Upon entering The Pear Tree in Surrey Quays for a leisurely breakfast, the charming connection to a coffee shop immediately caught our attention. While awaiting a table, we perused the groceries on display and treated ourselves to a delightful flat white. The seamless integration of the coffee shop and restaurant created a unique atmosphere. Quick and efficient service enhanced our experience, and the open kitchen allowed us to witness the skilled chefs crafting our meals. In addition to our culinary exploration at The Pear Tree in Surrey Quays, we seized the opportunity to indulge in some invigorating beverages. Our selection included a bold ginger shot and a meticulously crafted carrot, apple, and ginger juice. The ginger shot, served in a compact glass, delivered an intense burst of warmth and spiciness. It was a potent elixir, perfectly setting the stage for our breakfast feast. The robust flavor lingered, providing a refreshing and awakening sensation to our taste buds. Accompanying our meal was the carrot, apple, and ginger juice, a carefully balanced concoction. The sweetness of the apple complemented the earthy notes of carrot, while the ginger added a subtle yet invigorating kick. Opting for the Australian breakfast, I was met with a plate adorned with a fully loaded English breakfast and two robust apple and pork sausages. The sausages were a highlight, bursting with flavor. However, the baked beans, unfortunately, fell short in terms of taste. My wife chose the huevos rancheros, expecting a delightful medley of crispy tortilla, spicy beans, chorizo, eggs, and a coriander and avocado mix. While the chorizo boasted well-balanced spices, the dish was marred by a scarcity of beans, leaving it lacking in depth. The portion size, excluding the large crispy tortillas, proved disappointingly small, especially given the relatively high price point. Despite the culinary letdowns, the ambiance, quick service, and the engaging kitchen view balanced the scales. Considering the overall experience, including the drawbacks, I'd assign The Pear Tree in Surrey Quays a rating of 3.5/5. While it certainly has its merits, improvements in certain aspects of the menu could elevate the dining experience.

Exciting breakfast experience with a classic Egg Benedict and a innovative Prawn Toast with Korean Spicy sauce mixed with Holladaise (I think). Egg Benedict was perfectly executed, well seasoned and crunchy warm toasted muffin. 100/100. Prawn Toast gave me a huge impact on the 1st bite and felt like Master Chef quality, but sauce is overpowering and felt difficult to finish one toast without taking many water breaks. Overall I prefer the Benedict. The toast could potentially Benedict from having the eggs and sauces on the side. Excellent service and great atmosphere. May revisit for their French toasts.

I have to say they served the best French toast in London ( I’ve been to quite a few brunch places in London ). HORRIBLE PLACE. have been a vegetarian for 7 years, I eat fish on special occasions. I came here for dinner on 21st October 2023 and ordered the miso cod and I was given CHICKEN. I ate bites out of it already as it didn’t look suspicious but tasted suspicious. When I told the waitress she acted like she didn’t care and as if I was bothering her for asking her to change it. At the end of the meal she even tried to make me pay for it which I said I would not as it was a traumatic experience. This should NEVER EVER happen in any restaurant. This places deserves to be investigated and possibly shut down for what happened to me. I didn’t get an apology. I feel disgusted at eating meat for the first time in 7 years. What if I was severely allergic to chicken? To not even get an apology is disgusting.

Surprisingly pretty nice cafe considering what the local area looks like. I had the 'Australian breakfast' which I'm not too sure what makes it particularly Australian. If the toast had come with a super thin spread of Vegemite I could be swayed to it being Australian. I came with a little baby and no one had a curtesy to close the front door ( it was being open to pass food to delivery drivers all the time which I understand but the staff could have closed it after themselves). I had to stand up 10 times and close the door , the weather was really cold so it wasn’t great really plus the noise. Also the food , especially sandwiches literally changed within few days. I ordered chicken sandwiches on Friday and it tasted great as usual even take away, just now I ate at the restaurant and totally different taste. I would have appreciated if the chef would admit their mistake instead of trying to prove something to the loyal customer who comes nearly every day. I hate to say it but Wolfies next door is much better place to enjoy brunch. Unfortunately my favourite pear tree is just isn’t the same anymore.

This is a great local outlet that does three things well. It's a very good coffee bar w good coffee and quality pastries. Also does first class bread. It's a very good café doing tasty, well-made food for all times of day. It's an Aussie shop with all the favourite imports and more. Friendly staff, good service, I always look forward to riding over and meeting my local mate here.
