The Peacock in Birmingham

We were greeted by a warm and inviting lady Kirsty . The decor/ambiance, fitted the pub well. The exposed beams, cozy fireplace and vibrant garden created a perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. The menu offered a fantastic selection of food, The Vegan mixed grill was a refreshing chand for me as a non meat eater. The drinks selection was excellent, I had the IPA, it was a fantastic pint. Overall, The Peacock provided a truly enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone, in fact I'm thinking about having a family Birthday there. Thanks guys.

We visit here on occasion as of course the food is always lovely however the only reason we ever return here is purely for Mia. You can get great food anywhere nowadays but service like Mia’s is genuinely unmatched. Nothing is ever too much for her, our glasses are always full, we are seen to promptly & no matter how busy it may get her smile never fades. She asked if we’d leave a review which is of course my pleasure - credit where it is due! Thanks to the Peacock as always but especially to Mia.

Kirsty was a wonderful server very friendly & attentive . Drinks arrived promptly & wonderful meals followed shortly after , desserts were delicious . Very welcoming atmosphere . Would highly recommend .

As a family we expect a little bit of magic when you book a quite expensive Christmas dinner, when we arrived the pub was very basic with hardly any Christmas decorations, the barman seemed very miserable with no merry Christmas forthcoming, there was no table cloth on the table just 4 crackers, hardly Christmassy, Staff seemed very rushed, we sat down and received our welcome drink, although no drink i.e. orange juice for the children offered instead of the bubbly for the adults, the starters were brought out more or less straight away after only being sat down for 5 minutes and again all very rushed, my starter was salmon, not very much salmon either and not smoked salmon just crumbed small pieces, good prawns though, the starters were finished and table cleared and more or less straight away the main was brought out, very very rushed, its like give us a chance to digest the starter, I ordered the steak as I'm no fan of Christmas dinner, my steak was cooked to perfection, the rest was fit for the bin, the potatoes were in my opinion were deep fried, all very over cooked, rubbish veg that clearly had been sitting on the side for some time, there was peppercorn source in a small vessel but no gravy for the veg, all very dry, not worth what we paid, again the table was cleared and i had to ask for a break before the puddings, the puddings turned up about 10 minutes after i asked for the break, if you are struggling with the capacity reduce it so people have more of an experience especially with it being Christmas, very poor indeed and we wont go back

My parents came here for Christmas and had a great experience. We had a Fantastic meal, great staff and service. Kirsty looked after us and was very attentive. Lovely friendly atmosphere.

Visited with family, sevice, no complaints, friendly, helpful, welcoming and done with a smile.ordered starters.they were ok Ordered main course, battered fish, mixed grill, kids pizza and kids mac cheese.again mains ok, nothing bad about the food but nothing great.kids pizza did look like one of those small chicago town pizza from freezer. I do feel the food execution could do with improving, could be a great place to eat, just needs somebody in the kitchen to really feel the passion and pride in improving the menu and the dishes.

After doing a nearby ‘pub walk’, I stopped for breakfast. What a welcoming and traditional pub! I enjoyed the full breakfast and enjoyed things that make a difference….lightly toasted bloomer bread/butter, quality sausages and bacon and good portion size. With soft background music and a roaring fire, complete with prompt and friendly service, I would recommend to all.

Staff really lovely had a soup to start and a mix grill for main best I’ve had it ages would highly recommend to everyone!!!

A very enjoyable meal served in nicely furnished, clean but cosy surroundings. An inviting atmosphere, which was just the 'right level' of busy when we were there. Hot food on hot plates, with noticeably better vegetarian options than the norm. It was just what we wanted. Service from Katelyn was warm and professional, and we will certainly return when we're in the area again.

We decided to have a meal here after a day out with friends . We were met by friendly staff and shown to our table . After browsing the drinks menu an order was placed so then it was on to the food menu . The staff member came over when we’re ready and told us that some of the meat was unavailable for the trio of roasts which was a shame as it was only early evening and there would be plenty of disappointed people coming in after us . Order placed and after a little wait out it popped from the kitchen . It wasn’t over hot when it arrived and we started so it didn’t get any colder. The trio which it what I went for was ok not exciting but enough for a Sunday lunch. The potatoes were a bit hard but other than that it was ok. We decided to finish off with a coffee and small desert which was really enough at the end of the meal .

Really good experience, good service, good food, nice place, three friends had a good evening, one has limitations on what she could eat and still managed to enjoy the evening well, good menu range, helpful staff making larger version of starter as a main. Will be returning.

Not been for a while because of poor food and service but will definitely be returning soon. I had the mixed grill which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the chicken and ham hock pie which she enjoyed. The portions of both dishes were good. The service was quick and efficient and delivered excellently with a smile by Danni. Would have given 5 stars but had to wait 5 minutes for someone to appear when we arrived.

It was my Birthday meal.My pie was rock hard.My partner's steak very Mediocre and my son's partner 's gammon Cremated.I was so disappointed and won't be going again especially as it wasn't a cheap night either.Mary from Redditch

Having travelled for 3 hours on our way home to Norfolk, we stopped by in the hope of getting some food. We were warmly greeted and despite being very busy, staff were very accommodating and managed to fit all 9 of us in. A lovely environment for families, with a vast and tasty menu. Our Sunday menu meals were delicious, well presented and very much appreciated. Thankyou very much.

The Peacock is local to me but I’ve not been here for ages. Taken here for my birthday, chose here because they are dog friendly. Nice clean pub/resturant. Open fires adds to ambience. Table booked and welcomed on arty. Nice table by the fire. Daisy our dog love the window bench seat. Meal was great and not that expensive. Menus , although not extensive there were plenty of choices. I would recommend the Atlantic Cod and Bakewell tart for pudding. The service was very good. Recommend a visit.

We have used the Peacock for many years and haven't been for a while due to a number of visits where the food served wasn't up to the standard that you would expect and the interaction with a lady manager was not what you would expect from someone in a managerial position. In saying this we returned for an evening meal in the hope that things had changed and were really pleasantly surprised. Really warm welcome, fantastic service and really lovely food Am not sure if management has changed but definitely got a more pleasurable experience and will return. Big shout out for our server Mia, absolute star.

Popped in on the off chance with some friends after going for a walk on the Roman road. We spotted the peacock and popped in surprisingly quite busy which is always a good sign for me! We were sat quickly, drinks order promptly and brought over very quickly. We ordered the fish goujon ciabatta x2 and roasted squash flat bread lunch was brought over within 10 minutes and was cooked perfectly! Because it was very quick and tasty we stayed for puddings chocolate brownies with jersey ice cream all round. The peacock was a 10 out of 10 visit for me and my friends and will definitely be back! The staff working were very efficient and a true credit to the Peacock.

We met with family from Warwickshire for a convenient meeting place between both B'ham and M42- perfect location ! Having booked a table with answer phone system ( I'm not a fan-but it works!) arrived to be very pleasantly surprised with a genuinely traditional Olde world country pub-but with a young and contemporary vibe-with a lovely proper 'olde pub bar' as focal point - which we were welcomed to stand at (many places do not don't "allow" bar standing-wtaa?) whilst awaiting a short time (5 mins) for our table to be set. The barman (Manager?) Ryan was great-very welcoming/relaxed and helpful with very prompt and knowledgeable service for our various drinks (various beers-wines and soft drinks). Everything on the comprehensive menu was available , and our order was served in approx-15 mins by 2 friendly and attentive waitresses (Sam and Mia-yep-we bothered to name check as they are professional and very courteous/personable ). No starters as were short on time-but mains of Chicken n Ham Pie,Fish n Chips,Gammon dishes are excellent-simple and generous potions - great quality and Plates piping hot! Simple honest fayre! Lovely! Highly recommended-as a welcoming family/couples - small country pub with great food and staff service, convenient location near motorway with local charm-and great food and drinks. Great VFM! Reasonably priced-highly recommended!.
