One of the oldest boozers in Kirkby is The Peacock Pub ,a pub I always enjoy dropping into as I live only around the corner from it. A traditional pub ,multi roomed ,pubby decor and furnishings ,big screens to enjoy the sport and lots of seating both inside and outside ,a lovely pub to unwind in. Dropped in here on a Thursday afternoon ,ordered guinness ,poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle ,my twin brother Ste and I chilled out and enjoyed our pints of the black stuff. My guinness was really good ,thick, creamy and most importantly served freezing cold ,a proper pint of guinness ,in my opinion the best guinness in Kirkby. We stayed here for two pints each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a very pleasant time. The Peacock Pub is easy to locate along Bigdale Drive. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Peacock is a traditional estate pub on Bigdale Drive that offers a decent range of well priced drinks and is the only pub that's left in Northwood. The Peacock has a really nice interior with superb decor and superb furnishings. Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-12.00-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Bigdale Drive bus stop.

The Peacock on Bigdale drive in Kirkby is a local pub that offers a well priced range of drinks and is the last pub in Northwood. I haven't been to this pub in many years as it doesn't serve cask ales but on our return from Liverpool City Centre we went in here for a few beer's and what a transformation this pub has gone through. The last time I went here this pub was a bit of a rough and ready pub and in need of a make-over.When we visited this time I must say they have done an amazing job as this pub looks superb. With a modern interior with nice decor and furnishings and great seating options it's a great pub to visit and one I will go to again as we had a great time in here.We had just got the 21 bus at Kirkby train station but we still wanted a few beer's and on our way to Northwood we jumped off here. When here we had a pint of Fosters brewery lagers an excellent beer which where superb'we also had a couple of pints of Guinness. Both the lagers and Guinness were brilliant and well priced. This is an excellent local pub and a pub we will visit again as the staff were superb and there drink's range is well priced and there aren't that many estate pubs open as they unfortunately close down.In this area most of the pubs have closed and this is the last pub in Northwood as the Woodpecker and the Roughwood and the Molyneux pubs all closed in Northwood. A great local pub with a local clientele and really easy to get to from Minstead Avenue bus stop its across the road.(This is my first review of the Peacock). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-12.00-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Minstead Avenue bus stop.

One of the oldest surviving pubs in Kirkby and the closest to my house, my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into this pub as we enjoyed the beautiful Spring sunshine on a Saturday afternoon . We got a table in the beer garden out front of the pub, we ordered pints of lager ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. Been going off and on to this pub for as long as I've been drinking so your probably talking the mid 1980's ,its always been a good pub ,nothing flashy or gimmicky just a down to earth locals boozer ,the lager served here is spot on ,price wise its superb ,we ended up staying here for another beer each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Peacock pub is easy to locate along Bigdale Drive, the number 21 bus drops you off facing the pub. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub,if your in the area most definitely well worth checking out .

There used to be some great pubs in the Northwood area of Kirkby, The Woodpecker Pub ,The Roughwood Pub ,The Molyneux Pub ,all sadly gone ,pubs i loved to visit but The Peacock Pub on Bigdale Drive still soldiers on. A proper estate pub ,the interior is good, its big ,nice decor and furnishings ,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside, a proper good pub. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon ( pre coronavirus lockdown ) and the pub was busy with a great vibe ,we ordered a John Smiths Brewery " bitter " each, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back ,chilled out and took in the cosy pub we were in. My bitter was really good ,a well balanced bitter consistent from the first sip till the last sup,a very tasty brew indeed. We both really enjoyed our bitter's in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Peacock Pub is easy to locate on Bigdale Drive, the number 21 bus drops you off facing the pub. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,11am till 11pm. A great estate pub, well worth a visit if you're in the area.

We were recommended the Oriental Tea House by a friend several months ago, however, after giving it a try, we are totally addicted. The won ton soup is amazing, as is all the meals we have had so far. We used to order takeaway deliveries on occasions, but now it is a couple of times a week. Would highly recommend.
