Oriental Tea House in Knowsley

We were recommended the Oriental Tea House by a friend several months ago, however, after giving it a try, we are totally addicted. The won ton soup is amazing, as is all the meals we have had so far. We used to order takeaway deliveries on occasions, but now it is a couple of times a week. Would highly recommend.

First time trying here for a take away. Didn't disappoint. Food delicious. Would return and recommend.

Beautiful food, we had a food delivery, excellent customer services - Ellie is a lovely woman, looking forward to our next meal. I can't recommend it enough and I am very fussy!!

Really do like this place but hard to sit in it's only small but the food is up to scratch pulse u can take your own beer wine and pay a corkage fee £1 ( glasses ) which in our case takes a lot of cost off the bill I tend to call in book a table and wait in the deans house until they can accommodate

I've always been a fan of The Oriental Tea House - however, on this occasion I can honestly say that I've never been as ill. Telephoned afterwards and awful customer service. Environmental health were much more obliging as was my doctor. Can't bring myself to order from here again.

Hay gente que viene a ir recogiendo sus pedidos de comida, así que no tiene un ambiente romántico para parejas. Sin embargo, el servicio es bueno, la comida a un precio muy razonable, y es adecuado para niños. Me llamar con antelación para comer en un sitio bastante.

Always lovely food and great service! Sit in or take out it is always fresh and hot! Great menu aswell definitely give it a go.

After reading rave reviews about this place on Facebook we went for a takeaway. Didn't enjoy it at all, Very poor.

The portion sizes are immense and the flavours are complex too, what's not to like. The comment above is from a person who doesn't really like Chinese, probably ordering another delivery soon. :)

This restaurant is very small but has a very nice atmosphere to it. You can take your own alcohol to this restaurant too. The food is lovely and staff are nice. They also deliver and are always fast at delivery.

Been here a few times now and ive never had anything bad. The salt and pepper sui mai are out of this world. They don't have a alcohol licence but you can take your own alcoholic drinks.

From the outside it doesn't look like it's up to much but honestly the god is amazing and can't be faulted. Waiters are really nice and friendly and food is always quick. Don't judge a book by its cover! Definitely worth a try this one.

Salt and pepper prawns!! crispy chilli chicken with noodles is also very nice quite cheap too :) xx

If your up for a quiet night and a chilled Chinese meal for 2, I wouldn't recommend anywhere other than this small establishment! Lovely food and great portion sizes at cheap prices; I visited this restaurant last Tuesday late at night, with 2 of my friends, and the set meal for 2 was more than enough for 3 of us! The only thing that is letting this place down is the communication from the staff, wouldn't exactly describe the young woman as polite not helpful, however it was late at night and she probably did just want her bed!

Excellent food not licensed so have to take own wine or beer. Lovely staff and excellent service. Very good value for money

I'm a very frequent visitor here & also have take aways delivered. The service is fab & never had a bad meal ever! Have tried almost everything on the menu & never disappointed. The s&p chicken wings & sui mai are the best ive had. Take aways are always delivered promptly, never waited more than 40 minutes even of a wkend. Very small seating area if eating in so can sometimes get busy of a weekend. No card main so pay cash only but prices are the same as a take away so very cheap. You can take your own alcohol for a small corkage charge but they do serve soft drinks. If you're looking for somewhere posh to go then this isn't for you. I can't believe I'm reading previous reviews about rat droppings??? I've been going here for 2 years & never seen anything like that! Lovely food & will be ordering my weekly Saturday night take away very shortly!

We visited here last night. It is mainly a take away with a small amount of seating. We ate in and ordered the banquet for 4 people costing £42.50. The food was lovely and because you can take you own drink (corkage £4) made for a very cheap night out. Staff very friendly too.

Just had lunch at this place, I didn't know what to expect but I was really pleased. The food was really great and inexpensive £3.50 for a lunch special. I also had charsui wonton soup. Lovely.

Lovely cafe style Chinese varied Chinese great for lunch. Unusual dishes, lovely teas. It maybe small but lovely atmosphere.

I have ordered takeaways (quite regularly) and sat in and eaten of a lunch time (they do cheap lunch deals) and of an evening too. The food is really reasonable and always comes hot and tasty! The salt and pepper chicken wings are the best I've tasted. To sit in you can bring your own alcohol for small charge as they don't serve it. The décor could do with updating but I go for the food which is always good.

i used to think this place was ok but after a recent visit i will not be returning, rat droppings were seen on the floor and the atmosphere was terrible, staff attitude was rude i could tell the place was falling apart management wise!were they just having a bad day? i think not

A excellent place to eat in or takeaway the decor may be basic but the food certainly is excellent gd service and we'll recommend that you visit you won't be disappointed.

We have been really impressed with the oriental tea house since we gave it a try 3 months ago we have had delivery service 3 times a month since The food has always been very tasty and really enjoyable always hot upon delivery could not fault it one bit That was until last week when we walked past with our dogs and seen the chef outside smoking in a filthy uniform while wearing flip flops So now unfortunately we will not be ordering again

well if you haven't yet tried this place you don't know what your missing, food, service & delivery just brill, had half dozen different meals from here and just can't fault it, would defo recommend no problem.

We have been visiting the Tea House since it opened and the standard has remained consistently high. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all good value for money.

Visit a few times but decided to get a takeaway and food was just as nice.Service was excellent as usual really quick, will be using again for takeaway.

Been here quire a few times in the recent past and kept going back as the food is generally good value for money and its a nice little setup. However during a recent visit they got part of the order wrong. They decided the best way to deal with it was to dispute it and have a nice little embarrassing disagreement in front of other customers. After shouting through to each other in their native tongue, they did put it right however, the correct order was 'placed' on our table without comment or apology. In consequence we wont be going back. Shame really as it is a nice little find but there are plenty of other Chinese restaurants in Prescot of whom I am sure would handle a customer query in a more suitable manner. Without my recent experience, I would rate the Oriental Tea Rooms a 4*

Enjoyed lunch with friends, food and service excellent, very friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money, liked the quirky, no frills restaurant, quite basic but clean & comfortable. I am local & had never been before, shame on me.

Second time I've been here, visited with family of 10 service excellent, food lovely and staff friendly. Will defo be visiting again soon

I have already left 2 reviews for the Tii House and I have been her numerous time since as both a couple and with all the family and this place never fails to deliver. The food here is fantastic it is the best Chinese food I have tasted. It is lovely and fresh and it is a family favourite. Superb!!!

Great service, good food and great price. I've always walked passed and never gone in, but will deffo return. Decor could do with a few bob spending on it, still enjoyed it. No licence so take your own! Look forward to going back

So happy I found this place I always want to go or order from here! Never had a bad meal, food arrives quickly when I have had it delivered and always high quality. Staff are very friendly. The salt and pepper chicken here is one of the best I've had! Can't wait to come again

This is the great thing about tripadvisor ...... searching for hidden gems like this and finding a real treat (so thanks to all who reviewed this honestly). Tucked away opposite the large parish church in Prescot, Liverpool is the Oriental Tii House, small, unassuming and quite fantastic. The lunchtime set menu starts at just £3.50 and I have to say that the chicken with green pepper and black bean sauce and the Kung Po Chicken were the tastiest that we have ever had ...... we had our dishes with a super yummy fried rice.This is a small cafe that seats 18 people and will be putting this on our regular rota of places to eat and must try coming back for an evening feast.Very .... very highly recommended.

Easy to miss, looking more like a café than a restaurant but this is a little hidden gem. Don't be put off by the surroundings as the food served, by friendly, welcoming staff, is definitely top restaurant quality. We opted for the combination starter which was plentiful, freshly cooked and really tasty. We followed this with crispy chilli beef, which I have to say is the nicest I have tasted and mixed meat Cantonese which had plenty of large, succulent meat and prawns. The accompanying fried rice and noodles with beansprouts were equally tasty. All of the food was freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious! Good selection of soft drinks and teas and alcohol can be taken in for a small corkage charge.Highly recommend this quaint eatery

A lovely little gem of a restaurant in prescot. food is fantastic more of a cafe than a restaurant you can bring your own drinks as they don't sell any. Try it out you won't be disappointed.will Defoe go again.

My partner and I love this place!! It's our favourite place to eat in Prescot. The service is friendly, there's a wide choice of tasty Chinese meals to choose from. It's never overly busy so we can just take our time and relax. The only criticism is that we always enjoyed popping in for breakfasts of a morning. These were so tasty and it was simply the best place around to go for breakfast. Still, we will still recommend this place for the Chinese meals.

Located just past the end of Prescot's main shopping street, this tiny little place can easily be overlooked. It is a very strange place with just a few tables and is best described as a Chinese cafe rather than restaurant. It is not licensed to sell alcohol but there is a pub adjacent. The food is priced in line with most takeaways rather than typical restaurant prices and is of great quality. Staff are friendly and attentive. Great for a lunchtime meal but I have also been a couple of times in the evening. Well worth trying!

We went here for our Saturday lunch and had Singapore Vermicelli, Crispy Shredded Chicken, Fried Rice and Prawn Crackers and it was fantastic. The Vermicelli was lovely and fresh and the Shredded Chicken was full of flavour. This was our 2nd time here and it is great to see someone trying to make a go of a little business. It is open from early morning for breakfast to late evening. It is a café not a restaurant so no alcohol licence but it is well worth a visit for good Chinese food.

We have walked passed this restaurant/café so many times that we finally decided to give it a go today. It is only small, seating only 20 odd people and is more like a café than a restaurant. We ordered a mixed combo to start (my son loved the prawn toast) and had some noodles, chicken fried rice, crispy shredded chicken, curry sauce and prawn crackers for the mains. The service was nice and friendly, the food was lovely and was packed full of flavour. This will not be our only visit, incredibly good value for really good Chinese food.
