They done me Bakewell sponge for my lads bday.it was lovely .we had it with custard yummy 6 yrs ago.thank you .Ahhhh they have moved to other side of road.i didn't no it was there till today and went in for cuppa and cake of course lol.cake was yummy and staff are lovely xx

A warm welcome, excellent fruit scones and good, strong, freshly brewed coffee, just what you want on a frosty morning. And dog friendly - always a good sign!

Lovely place with very friendly staff. I had the scouse and my husband had a toastie and the food was 10 out of 10 very delicious. Good value for money with a nice relaxed atmosphere and we brought home some cakes which were so yummy (you could not fault the cake range and flavours amazing!) and good portion sizes. Would highly recommend. Hopefully be back soon.

Attended the Albion for my birthday in August for some cake. Wonderful selection, lovely service. Staff have great knowledge about allergies too. They also sell local honey which I think is good to know. Great place for afternoon tea or baby shower. Beautiful inside and out, would Recommend. My kids loved it too. Especially the Victoria sponge. Since our visit, we grabbed some Victoria sponge while we was on our way to see my husbands nan. Later that day she text us saying ‘wow’ that says it all. Absolutely amazing. See you again soon

Gem of a cafe in Prescot. Lovely and friendly, great food and amazing selection of cakes including gluten free and vegan which is always a bonus when going as a group. Can't recommend highly enough. Love it.

Lovely cafe with a welcoming atmosphere, the cakes are freshly baked and taste amazing! I have had afternoon teas, lunches and even cakes to take away over the years and lock down too!

We came to celebrate our daughters holy communion with her grandparents and aunt and uncle. The girls went above and beyond for our booking and even put up our decorations to surprise our daughter. Lockdown restrictions where still in place for parties so this really did help make our daughters day special

I had lunch here today and thought I would write a review because I enjoyed it so much. I am surprised at some of the other reviews as I received a great service. The girls were well mannered and hard working. The food was hot (even better as it was cold outside) and arrived within minutes of us ordering even though the shop was busy. I chose the scouse which come with a side of red cabbage and a crusty roll. It was well presented and the quality of the scouse was excellent I can honestly say I would return for the same meal again. It is a bit dearer than the other cafe round the corner the scouse was £7 however it does feel more welcoming and I have never been here and not enjoyed my food so I don’t mind paying that bit more for better quality.

Lovely little bakehouse cafe with quirky tea sets used to serve your tea and very good cake indeed 😋. Wish my town had places like this! Hoping to come back to Shakespeare North again so would bring my friends here for sure.

Extremely poor. Cheese on toast on sourbread ordered. It arrived on very cheap white bread and the cheese was invisible. The salad consisted of a few very limp lettuce leaves and nothing else. Coffee and tea was ok but the cheese on toast was abysmal. Would not re visit.

Called in today and was very disappointed, ordered a ham & piccalilli sandwich on artisan bread. What came was ordinary sliced bread you would buy in a supermarket and one very thin (almost transparent) slice of tasteless ham. When I mentioned this to them, I was told they were aware if this as other people complained, plus they hadn’t received a delivery from their bread supplier, they might have told me this all beforehand! Will not be returning which is a shame as the environment is very pleasant.

Made a perfect bespoke cake for our Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. Very tasty too!

Absolutely love Down In Albion, great ambience, excellent tunes, great selection of drinks and food - it's all about that cake! From dining for two to afternoon tea for a group, the team at DIA deliver fantastic service every time. If you're in the area make sure that you head there for a visit. If you're not in the area, the journey is worth it!

Beautiful afternoon tea for our daughter's first holy communion on Saturday just gone! Nina was amazing with replying to my enquiries and on the day customer service from her and the team was outstanding! 9 adults 1 child and a cheeky 20month old where all well looked after. My daughter was over the moon. So much choice and we was all far to full up to finish all the yummy cakes. Cake boxes where given without even enquiring so we all had plenty to take home too. Very indulgent weekend had. Will be back. Thanks all ❤

I searched high and low for something alittle extra special for my dad on his birthday, being on his own and me so far away...i came across this bakery and thought i'd give it a try. Well i'm so pleased i did! I had a few concerns and Nina was exceptional in not only replying to all my emails but with her courteous manner. Most of all she had the understanding of doing something that meant alot to me. My dad recieved his surprise and absolutely loved it. Many many thanks to all. I would highly recommend.

Was introduced to The Albion Bakehouse by a good friend. They have the most amazing cakes I have ever tasted. We had a lovely afternoon tea with all the usual tasty treats baked to perfection . Lovely gluten free options all served by their friendly staff. They bake cakes for special occasions and also until lockdown arrived served the best local breakfast with top notch ingredients. I would thoughly recommend.

Regular visits before lockdown and treat boxes during lock down. The standard of baking is excellent. It’s a great bake house.

Don't live local in Prescot - but visit for appointments. Wanted some lunch so called in for some sanwiches - cheese and red onion chutney, new york reuben - and some cake. We were piggies and ordered 4 pieces of cake - they all looked tremendous! We had the chocolate guinness cake, fish and chip white chocolate, rocky road and salted caramel. Chocolate guinness cake - one of the nicest things we've ever tasted! Everything tasted fresh and was made on site and had very generous fillings! Returned today again (twice in 48hrs - ooops!) got another 2 Reuben sandwiches to take out and got another 2 rocky road and a slice of creme egg cake for tonight Very friendly and hard working staff. Prices are very reasonable and although it might look tight I saw a mum navigate a buggy to the counter with no issues. Good amount of seating for customers. Will be popping in each time I can! Thank you!

Wonderful place in walking distance of where I live. Fresh, well presented food and fabulous cakes. I havent sampled the afternoon tea but it looks great. Was pleased to see that the breakfast meni is available all day now. Lovely, friendly staff who can't be more helpful. A must try.

Friendly staff, lovely little bake house. The afternoon tea was great - everything was really fresh and plenty of selection! Really enjoyable and great value for money!

My last visit was really disappointing. Preordered afternoon tea for 3. Two with all the trimmings and fizz and also the vegan afternoon tea. Unfortunately, we did not receive the fizz nor jam and cream for scones despite prepayment and asking several times (we gave up in the end). My daughter was disappointed regarding the vegan options, there wasn't a variety of sandwiches ( cakes were ok).

Visiting from USA. Loved this place last visit. Lunch today was terrible. Very poor service. Soup arrived AFTER sandwich. Door stopper size bread. Arrived for a sandwich at 12:30pm. It was almost 2:00pm by the time we left.

So glad we found this place having moved into the area recently. Really nice atmosphere and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Desserts were also delicious. Will be coming back again soon.

Just had lunch with 2 friends to introduce them to Down in Albion for the first time. Staff very friendly and helpful. There were quite a few visitors including a large party for afternoon tea. Our drinks came quickly, food took a little while and we had to ask where it was. Saying that the staff quickly rectified the situation and when our food arrived it was very fresh, good quality and tasty. Sourdough bread was lovely so would recommend trying it.

Unexpectedly lovely cafe, definitely worth a visit. Went for Sunday brunch, and the food was delicious, with high quality ingredients served in stylish surroundings. The pancakes were a particular stand out: the best I've had this side of the Atlantic. Family friendly, with efficient and pleasant service. Really recommend.

There vege breakfast is the best. Staff are great.

There is one chef there who I happened to spot during a visit and she look really grubby. So much so it put me off ordering anything freshly made.

Food and cakes choice was very good, recommend the scouse with warm bread, we got a pot of tea for 2 was lovely big pot that didn't drip yeh, really enjoyed our visit would go again

Been here before and absolutely loved it, however on our last visit for my mums birthday, the service was incredibly slow not to mention my mum found a WET WIPE in her salad, and it ended up in her mouth before she was traumatised !!! Absolutely revolting, luckily she recognised before she swallowed it. Will never ever be returning here. Only positive was money being knocked off the bill.

We opened lines of communication to see if we could arrange an event there. Sadly it is wasn't achievable but Nina and the team were amazing with us and the communication was second to none. Honestly I cannot recommend this place enough.

Brilliant staff, really well cooked food and generous portions, loved the sausages and the beans were a refreshing change from the heavy mushy tinned veriety. Lovely atmosphere just wish I'd had room for cake!! Maybe on my next visit. :)

Saturday breakfast with the family, The staff were friendly the service was quick, lovely clean room with a homely feel. There were six of us all ordering different choices, everything was cooked to perfection, the children’s portions were just right.

Traditional afternoon tea with friends. Proprietor offered choice of time as we were adult group and venue also does children's parties. Very generous portions.

Had a family get together here on 17/08/2019. I would definitely recommend booking a table here as the food was good the service was good and the place itself Very cosy and welcoming.

Having been in the bakehouse several times I was keen to visit the new venue. It’s a bit bohemian and quirky but in a good way. Spotlessly clean and staff welcoming. I ordered the rapide afternoon tea. Sandwich was ham and piccalilli followed by scone with jam and cream and a slice of walnut cake. The scone was a bit dry but the cake was delicious. I had a coffee and if you opt for the more expensive afternoon teas refills are unlimited but the tea has to be prebooked it would have been good to have been offered another refill given the length of time I waited for the food arrived which was considerable as I had drunk the coffee during the wait. Having said that 2 members of staff apologised for my wait and were friendly. Yes I’d go again it’s a good addition to Prescot.

I LOVE this gem of a place. The service is friendly - without being over pushy - the coffee is delicious, and the cakes are divine. I'm Coeliac but always manage to find something drool-worthy available for me. This time I had a slice of their Angel Cake to go with my Flaft White Coffee.

We have had breakfast and brunch here on a number of occasions. Food is always lovely, of good quality and good portion sizes. Plenty of places to sit and a lovely environment however we have found the service very slow each time we have visited and on one occasion waited almost an hour for two breakfasts. This is my only negative and it can take some time for just a cup of tea to arrive

Attended for afternoon tea with a group of friends. Staff are very attentive and don't stop at all. The interior is light, welcoming and comfortable. Some sandwiches could have been a filled a little more (rather than a single thin slice of ham) however, it probably helped to leave some room for the mouthwatering cakes and scones! Good value for money in a convenient location. Ideal for catch-up or small celebrations.

We’ve been 3 times now for breakfast, including today on Father’s Day. The food is delicious - this place is definitely about quality rather than quantity. Love little places like this on our doorstep - baffles me as to why anyone would go and eat at Wetherspoons!

Recently attended a wedding reception here and I was really impressed it was a fantastic venue for a wedding reception from the cosy inside space to the twinkling fairy lights outside on the evening. The food they did was absolutely fantastic and all the staff were just wonderful really hard working all day. I would highly recommend here for a function.

Recently had a lovely lunch here with my friend. It has not long opened and is owned by the same people who have the Albion Bakehouse directly behind in the next street. It is a lovely old building which has been stripped and renovated, and is small and cosy inside. The menu was varied with plenty to choose from, and we had the steak ciabatta which was tasty and perfect! The staff were lovely and very attentive, and made us very welcome.

Excellent addition to any town. They need to open in Manchester as well. Staff are brilliant as well. Will be going again. Thanks Nina and Alison.xx
