They have recently refreshed their menu and it is fantastic. Their hot breakfast items are better than sit down restaurants or pubs in the area. Do yourself a favor and take a stroll in a wonderful park and grab some brunch next weekend here.

The worst oat latte I have ever tasted. Coffee was too strong and tasted burnt. The oat milk was salty and the froth looked like dirty dishwater. If they charge £ 3.60 for a tiny cup of this they t really should know what they’re doing.

The lady at the till was touching pastry with her hands and although she was wearing gloves, she was touching the till and everything else whilst wearing the same gloves. I bought the pastry but couldn't eat it as couldn't get away from the thought how poor the hygiene is. When I asked her why she wouldn't use a food clip, she said they sanitise daily. I think it's a poor excuse because whatever they sanitise the till with cannot go on the food. And also surely she can inadvertently touch other stuff e.g. bin, dirty surfaces, and then all of that ends up on your food. It truly makes me sad and frustrated that people don't understand such basic hygiene standards when working in hospitality. This is not okay!

So annoyed that I had to create an account on tripadvisor and share my experience. 1) I went there when wearing masks was mandatory and three staff members did not properly wear their masks. 2) Suggestion for the manager: please take a shower and wash your clothes. 3) I ordered babyccino and the cup was half empty and the milk was hot. Babies don't drink hot milk. What is a rip off? 4) There were few horrible looking sandwiches left which I didn't want to try in the dead of the heat. God knows how long they had been there under the counter for. 5) Please get rid of the flies. I know its an open door place and has large doors but still please try to do something about it. Thanks.

Went to the cafe at around 3pm on the first weekend of July. Half the staff, thats nearly 5 out of the 10 staff members I saw had either their face masks hanging below the chin or their noses were outside the face masks. And, that's two staff members in the kitchen, two at the checkout tills, and one in the bakery section. Ridiculous! It is illegal for an establishment to do such a thing. And, worst thing is that I saw the manager standing in the middle of the cafe. Are you lost or something? The seating outside the cafe, by the lake, is not socially distanced either. There is hardly a distance of one meter between the tables. Now regarding the food, its about 3 out of 5. Because this is the only place inside the park so people have no choice but to go there.

I have always lived in Bow and spent my childhood in and around Victoria Park so the Pavilloon Cafe has always been a familiar sight. We can here as a family last year and wanted to try the food but it sold out before closing time so we decided to arrive early. We wished we never bothered. As I am in need of a gluten free diet, I went through the menu with the server at the counter where you order your food. I was recommended the curry so when it arrived it had a item of food which contain gluten on my plate which I had to return to the kitchen. It was really bad, the server failed to communicate with the kitchen about my food intolerance when she took my order ! I had to complain to the manager and he replaced my meal with Smoked kippers with poached eggs and spinach. I have to say the replacement wasn’t better. The spinach had bits of grit and dirt in it, Obviously has not been washed properly. At this stage, I wasn’t in the mood to eat anymore...... So be warned, check your food before consuming it. You don’t know what’s in it. It was an expensive and very disappointing experience.

I walked my dog to the park, I passed quite a few coffee places en route, but I was looking forward to grabbing a coffee from The Pavilion Cafe at the park. I ordered my Skinny Americano only to be informed they don't have skinny milk!!! That's OK I will go with what they have. Then to be told they only take cards, no cash. I didn't have my card with me, I was on a dog walk with just some cash in my pocket. I asked where they are displaying this message, they said they don't have a sign, but it's been like it for about 6 months, insinuating that I'm not a regular otherwise I would have known. Well I am a regular to Victoria Park during the summer months and the last time I got a coffee they took cash!! The staff are very rude and unhelpful. I run my own Business and if you want to have customers you treat them well. I would have given the customer a free coffee and then they would have returned. Disgusting customer service. Nice location in Victoria Park by the lake. Very expensive for what it is. Child’s buggies block the entrance while 3 mothers take up a bench for 8 with all their ‘must have’ accessories scattered the length of the bench for you to see. A great venue for Sunday breakfast .... especially on a bright morning ... very popular so sometimes hard to get a seat Expect to spend circa £15 per head if you have a breakfast / coffee/ juice

We were doing a canal walk from Camden to Limehouse and stopped off for a snack. A very modern, cool sort of place. We shared a very generous baguette which was tasty. We sat outside by the lake. The price of the baguette was quite high, but we did share it. Lovely area of the park, and good stop off.

Completely sold out to the "hipster" look of hackney now solely vegan/vegatarian, used to be great but I certainly wont be back. Lots of lovely less pretentious places around the area.

An excellent place to have breakfast with views over the pretty lake at Victoria Park. The food is excellent too, with very interesting and tasty Sri Lankan style breakfast (Egg curry Dahl, samba and savoury pancake) served alongside more traditional fayre, all made from good quality fresh ingredients.Coffee was very good too.

I've been a regular customer for years, and I'm so disappointed that the café is now a solely vegan/vegetarian cafe now. I won't be back.

Having lived in the area for 25 years, it feels as though I have been coming here for ever. I love the food and the coffee and the staff are generally happy, what amuses me is that although I have been coming here roughly twice a week for a decade or so, the male staff here seem incapable of ever giving me a recognising smile. Fair to say, I have usually walked in a tad pink in the face post my morning exercise routine and am no doubt 20 years older than their usual target flirt. With us both knowing all this, surely the normal behaviour here is simple local recognition like I get at the Ginger Pig, The Empress and The Deli Downstairs, this is the joy of being a local in a thriving community. My last breakfast was excellent as usual but when one of the male staff came to clear my plates and I did the usual, quick glimpse up, polite "Thank-You" he was twisted in a way so as to have his back to me. Quite a feat or manoeuvrability. I will continue to go to the Pavilion and no doubt continue to enjoy the food and the female service and maybe one day the male staff with lose their fear and say hello to my middle ages menopausal self.

I love Victoria Park. It is easily my favorite park after Greenwich Park. And it is always a delight to have brunch here, after a good walk, around the Park. The location is wonderful. The beautiful pond with fountains, people jogging by, lovely rows of benches along the trees, it is quite a scenic place to have a lovely brunch at and watch the world go by.The food is really good. I am not a big eater, but it is always Eggs Benedict and Pancakes, which feels me right up. The coffee is really good too. This place is expensive. I have found nothing to flaw in this place, but it is seriously expensive for what they offer. It would be perfect if they drop the price by 20% on everything. This is the only thing that stops me from making this my usual breakfast place in Summer. In short, go have a try. You will love everything here...except the prices.

Stumbled upon this great spot in Victoria Park. We went there for breakfast one day and went back the another time for lunch (limited sandwich menu, more options for breakfast - but delightful none the less). There are first come first serve picnic benches overlooking the pond.

This is a really nice place to have a snack and watch the birds on the lake, take in the scenery and meet friends. There's an interesting range of breakfast items, sandwiches and snacks as well as a great selection of teas and coffees. It is expensive but you'd expect it to be a tad overpriced given the location. The service was cool but efficient.

The setting is very casual and lovely, though the seating quite rustic and a bit close to the bins, the good was delicious and quite authentic. The fried kale was a lovely and textural accompaniment to the yummy curries. Initially I thought 3 string hoppers was a bit mean, but added to the generous helpings of vegetarian curries made a very filling meal. Not too keen on the overly gingery chai, but washed down with the builders' tea, yum.

I cam into this cafe after a run in Victoria park for a coffee and my phone card would not work correctly. This happened after I had placed the order and it was already in progress of production. I tried for a couple of minutes and it would not accept my thumb print. The very kind girl behind the counter offered me the coffee on the house and eased my shame. I must call back in and pay soon, I live locally and usually visit Broadway Market Pavilion. Thank you for your kindness. Hunan understanding is not lost.

Great setting next to a duck pond in Victoria Park, East London. The restaurant serves excellent eggs Benedict and full English breakfast, and their sourdough bread is fantastic--take a loaf home! It's semi-self service, order at the counter and they take you your order. Server staff are sort of oddly indifferent, like they are bored and just marking time until an interesting customer comes along. Not unfriendly, just definitely not welcoming. We went there a couple of times for breakfast so we observed this behavior twice. Not a deal killer, but not reinforcing, which is off-putting when the restaurant is busy and the lines are long.

The coffee is good. The service is so bad, the staff are really pretentious, to the point of being rude and they seem to have an issue with parents bringing their buggies in the cafe (there's lots of space and I visited on a weekday when it was quiet).

Visited here on a cold Sunday morning and thought it would be a pleasant stop. Smaller than thought but adequately spaced but limited inside seating. Drinks and snacks are the usual you'll find in any park cafe...so nothing special. Major downside is the queuing system, it so needs to change. Here's an idea....when no one wants hot food in the queue, don't just stand there doing nothing, take people's hot drink orders. Instead you're made to wait until you're at the till, order coffees and pay for snacks, then wait for your hot drinks. There is nowhere to then stand with your tray and snacks as staff serve the people then behind you, and so on. So as you can imagine it bottle necks. When your order is ready you have to fight your way back to the front to load your tray to then move back through people queuing for drinks in this bottle beck area. Suggestion:Have someone on the right hand side (opposite end to the till) to take orders, pass these to the several staff making hot drinks, then queue to pay for drinks and collect drinks at the same time. Not rocket science but like every coffee shop. That all said, everything was ok and just that, ok.
