After arriving and being in Orr of the beautiful rear setting, we quickly became very disappointed. What appeared to be an interesting and tasty menu became unrealistic when the majority of what we were ordering wasn’t available. The waitress too our order and came back saying one item wasn’t available but ‘everything else on the menu was available’. 5 minutes later coning back to us with something else that wasn’t available, she came back 3 times with different things that are t available and this was at a 5 pm seating, as opposed to late in the evening. If things are t available tell your customers when they are being seated, then don’t promise everything else is available when it clearly isn’t. Another thing that was strange was when the waitress came back to tell us the fillet was sold out, then had to retake the whole order for 4 steaks and sides all over again even though the 4 steaks were just changing to a different cut and all the cooking and sides would still be the same. Why make us repeat it all again??? We won’t be back, food was average but really poor service.

Well I can safely say this was a very good evening. The evening kicked off with pre meal drinks at the bar with friends we were attending with. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The three course meal was the very best we have experienced at the venue having been many time prior to lockdown - a credit to the chef, kitchen & waiting on staff. Sherry 4 were very entertaining. We will be attending other social function like this in the future, that is for sure. Well done to all at The Pavilion at Branston Golf & Country Club.

The granddaughters loved the Little Mix Experience- the performers were very friendly and pitched their performance perfectly for the audience. A great way for little ones to experience a live concert. The Pavilion staff managed the parking and access problems caused by the flooding very well. The Michael Buble Tribute and afternoon tea on Christmas Eve was a perfect way to begin the festivities with family and friends. The cakes were Xmas themed and the sandwiches were perfect. The tribute act was exceptional with Buble songs in the 1st half and a mix of Motown and Swing in the 2nd half which got everyone dancing. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of doing something a little different at Xmas, I believe they do this every year. Will definitely visit again and try out a Sunday lunch. You do not need to be a member to book a table.

Having attended many a Christmas party at venues all over the UK, expectations of overcrowding and lack lustre, cold food were the norm, however this was absolutely not the case at branston golf club. From cabaret style tables decadently decorated to the hosts’ costumes, party games, hot and well presented food to the show that six singers and dancers presented exceptionally well, there was nothing that didn’t exceed expectation. A thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable evening and would highly recommend this event as something not too be missed.

We visited Branston Golf and Country Club on Sunday 7th October, a year to the day that we got married here at the Pavillion. We couldn't think of any better way to celebrate than to come back and reminisce our special day. Upon arrival, we were instantly greeted by staff, who were warm, friendly and accommodating and explained how the Sunday Lunch is ran and what is on to offer. They also remembered our wedding day and we had a natter remembering everything from the day. There was a fantastic Pianist playing on a baby grand piano outside the room we were eating in, and made the atmosphere more intimate and relaxing, and even played us a song from our wedding, which made the day even extra special. The food is truly amazing, and would recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely Sunday Lunch.

We held our wedding at the Pavilion last weekend, and it was a truly great venue. The staff, food, atmosphere and decor was brilliant, and couldn't have been better. We were especially impressed with the immediate wedding coordination team. Matt, Dawn and Sammie were easy to work with, helped us with the smallest of detail on the run up to the day, and couldn't do enough to ensure that our day was as special as we'd hoped. Matt was our first point of contact on the day, and he was conscientious, friendly and made us feel that everything was under control. We stumbled upon the venue itself by accident when we were planning our wedding, but we can't praise The Pavilion enough. Would recommend! All of our guests had a wonderful time, and couldn't compliment the food and the staff enough. We had guests with a wide range of dietary requirements, and these were catered for thoroughly and to a high standard. It is also worth noting that the venue has plenty of access for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. As far as wedding planing and suppliers go (and having never done this before), we felt that The Pavilion offered good value for money. Thank you to all the staff for making our special day even more perfect!

I'm not a golfer, so visit the Pavilion at Branston Club only annually, for an Old Boys' reunion. They always do us proud, serving delicious food in an efficient and cheerful way. It's not easy catering for dozens of people, but the quality doesn't suffer. This year the main course was chicken, but I've had excellent lamb and fish on previous occasions. Vegetables are properly (not over-) cooked, and starters and puddings excellent. The bar seems to supply only beers from Molson-Coors, but the Doom Bar was quite good this year. It seems a shame not to have Marstons or Bridge Brewery ale when you're so close to the source.

Our first visit and it was a very enjoyable evening. Plenty of car parking space, bar area for drinks beforehand, place to hang your coats and the main room was set out with table decorations. The food was served per table and promptly. The starter was a cheese soufflé and very tasty. Pork chops with vegetables and potatoes for mains, very nice just needed to be a bigger portion. Chocolate tart for dessert was a little bit bland and heavy but to be fair that is just my personal opinion. I asked if I could have a decaf coffee and the waitress was more than happy to sort this and it arrived very swiftly.

Birthday Sunday lunch. On arrival we were impressed with a grand piano being played in reception. After purchasing drinks in the bar we were shown to our table. A very young waitress asked us if we had visited before and explained that we should choose our starters from the central buffet table, she also told us the choice of roasts which were only beef or gammon, plus salmon or a vegetarian option after which our order for desserts would be taken. We had to ask for the wine list, after ordering wine it was just put on table whilst we were choosing or starter. The choice was quite limited on the buffet table and consisted of small bits of smoked mackerel, salmon, prawns, quiche and mixed salads. I must add our surprise that the counter was not chilled particularly with raw fish being offered. The roast beef looked very dry and over cooked so we chose the gammon. The young boy carving started to cut the end of a small joint which was pure fat. I asked if he could cut some from the new piece which he did but he replied, some people like the fat! Not the right reply! Dessert choice consisted cheesecake, lemon tart, coconut sponge or ice cream. We were never asked if everything was ok. Overall very average lunch, and at £67 for 2 with wine was overpriced for quality and service.

We went for the Sunday lunch, which is excellent value even at £19.95 per head. The starters are soup and a buffet of numerous salads, cold meats, salmon, smoked salmon, mackerel, crayfish and prawns, plus egg mayonnaise, all to help yourself to. We all had two plates, they were so tasty. Then there's a choice of two roasts, plus a fish dish and a vegetarian option, with a selection of potatoes and vegetables, which we could help ourselves to. There was a plate of fruit on the buffet table, but desserts, hot, cold or cheese & biscuits were served to the table, as were the coffee and tea afterwards. The only spoiler was when I asked for hot water instead of the tea/coffee options, the waitress took my cup and brought it back, holding it by the rim. Prior to that, the service had been excellent, so maybe this is just a transatlantic habit that nobody has mentioned doesn't go down well over here.

No one can deny that the food in the Pavillion is very very good, considering it is mass catering the food is always, without fail piping hot and there is plenty of it.Staff do and excellent job at large functions, they appear to be well practiced and have their eye on the ball. The toilets are clean and well maintained and it generally is a very good experience. If I were to pick fault, at functions where tickets are sold to members and the public, the management are often at fault for cramming the room so tightly with people that it is not possible for guest to get onto the very small dance floor to dance the night away and this does spoil the experience somewhat but ........ nothing is perfect.Would I recommend the experience - yes.

I may be pedantic but isn’t brunch a hybrid of breakfast and lunch? What you get at The Pavilion is Sunday lunch served buffet style, so isn’t that “bunch”? Anyway, whatever it is it’s a very pleasant experience. For £17.50 you get an interesting array of starters, soup and salads, several cold and hot main courses, including traditional Sunday roasts, and a choice of desserts. The buffet is constantly topped up with fresh food. Gentle background music is provided by the pianist who does look a little like billy-no-mates sat in the lobby all on his own. If the NHS is the biggest employer in Europe than Branston Golf and Country club can’t be far behind as there were an awful lot of staff at The Pavilion who were all very pleasant and helpful. The food wasn’t exciting but it was good and plentiful.I have only been to The Pavilion twice and both times I have been sat in a draught and the plates have water marks from the dishwasher but other than that I have no complaints.

We hosted a themed 30th Birthday and homecoming party for my beautiful daughters. As Grand Master Wizard of the local chapter of the Society for Grumpy Gentlemen I'm over-qualified in the art of being underwhelmed. A glass half empty guy with a reputation for being extremely picky about detail. However, most disappointingly, I am unable to report anything negative about our evening of fun and frolic at the Branston Pavillion. The venue, inside and out, as ever, is luxurious, well appointed, and kept fresh, expertly maintained, and very clean. The ladies in the office, particularly Jen, were extremely helpful in interpreting our needs even when I wanted a table configuration they hadn't tried before. Come the day everything came together seamlessly; we were able to dress the place with themed stuff and the Band, Disco, Limbo Dancer and Photographer all commented on how co-operative the staff were in helping them set-up.Now to me a venue is just a place, what really makes an event is the people that provide the service. The owner of the Pavillion can be proud of his investment in bricks and mortar but he can be a great deal prouder of his team that operate this establishment. Without exception every single member of the Pavillion staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful beyond expectation. Chapeau to them all; I just can't think of enough superlatives to describe their professionalism. The food too was amazing. We opted for the BBQ buffet with a few tweaks and the quality, presentation, and amount on offer was truly outstanding. Our gluttonous guests hoovered the lot. The sight of them trying to balance a wobbling tower of scrumptiousness on the way back to their tables bore testament to its appeal. Indeed, the feedback since the party has been incredible; 5 days later and we are still getting people texting and sending messages via scrotal media. In summary; top facility and top service, worthy of every accolade you could bestow upon a premier class venue.

I visited on December 16th for business. My company had hired two rooms for our annual training. The conference rooms were a very good size, and nicely decorated with Christmas attire, the tables were well set out with table clothes and a jug of fresh water on each table with ice and water glasses instead of tumblers, which was a nice touch. The refreshments at the back of the room were well looked after and refreshed throughout the day so we always had a hot drink. At around 11am a tray of freshly baked cookies were brought in, which were lovely. We had lunch at 1pm and were not disappointed, it was a full three course meal. Starters options were a selection of fish (Salmon, Mackerel and one other) antipasti. The main meals were ratatouille or beef stew and dumplings (this is what I had and it was lovely very rich and melt in the mouth meat) side dishes included roast potatoes with the skins on very nice, rice with vegetables, tomato and basil pasta cold, or potato salad with apples. For pudding there was tart au citron with a berry compote this was a nice refreshing way to finish the meal. Our hospitality assistant looking after our needs was efficient and friendly, and cleared all dishes without disturbing the presentation we were watching. The toilets were well kept, clean and tidy with moisturiser available which is nice. The only slight downfall was getting the room temperature right but this was down to people keep fiddling with the button, so in the end a lady brought in two mobile heaters which was excellent as I had never known a venue cater to your every need as much as this. Brilliant day today, thank you for the wonderful hospitality, fingers crossed next year we are back again.

At this point we had not been asked about ordering drinks. It took 3 attempts to get some hot soup after complaining. Meanwhile the queue for the main course was getting longer and not moving. No gravy, then no potatoes etc etc ......We finally got to fetch our main course carvery after one of our party complained about the meat. Our starter plates were on the floor by our table. Eventually, after considering whether to walk out, our orders for sweet were taken at 4.15 and we were asked if we would like our coffee with our sweet or after . We requested with our sweet. We finally walked out at 4.45, still no coffees had arrived,.Believe me, it was far worse an experience than I can report on here. We will not be returning. We spent a family occasion at Branston last Boxing Day and it wAs fabulous. Whatever has happened there this year ? Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful!!

We can honestly say that we have had the worst ever experience for Sunday lunch in over 50 years of eating out. Table booked for just after 14:00, sat down after 15:00, no buffet starter food left, only scraps. Fresh food was then bought out but the PRAWNS WERE WARM, they admitted coming out of the freezer and running in warm water to thaw out! OMG!Queue for carvery was about 30 deep AND SLOW for a further hour- people waiting for fresh food all the time. When you finally did get the main meal (at 1630!!) it was cold and poorly cooked.Dirty plates were left all over the floor with no one clearing away! An utter disgrace and shambles.SHOCKING, SHOCKING, SHOCKING. The chef (who was rude), whoever took all the over bookings and whoever arranged too few staff should all be dismissed if they have any chance of saving the business. Will never return as long as we live.

We got married here in May and it was truly amazing! Sammie went above and beyond our expectations to make our day run smoothly. The food was amazing, all of our guests were impressed with all the food, including the evening BBQ. Couldn't have wished for a more perfect day, highly recommend the Pavilion for your wedding ☺

Me and my partner got married here on 8th May 2014 and it was perfect. The staff are amazing especially sammy who looked after us the whole day. The food is outstanding, came out very hot and we were very impressed and the hog roast evening buffet was out of this world. My wife got ready in the garden room and we used this all day as well as we have a 9 month old daughter so having time alone with her was great too. Everyone had that much of a great day my sister even booked her wedding that night for May 2015. It's a great place to get married and couldn't recommend it enough.

We attended our 4th Christmas event at Branston and have been to many other events there over the years. The food is always piping hot and very well presented and the restaurant management team there will fall over themselves to give you something you like that isn't on their menu. The Christmas entertainment is getting a bit tired there and it needs to be improved but you can't fault the food.Drinks are always expensive at Branston but if it's a special occasion, it's not worth making a fuss over as it is a lovely venue.

We had our wedding at the Branston Pavilion around 3 week ago & it was superb. The whole day day from start to finish was handled with professionalism by the team.Food was fabulous & the service fast, no one had to wait. Wine topped up all way through meal.Set in a beautiful golf club with tree lined avenue.Ample parking.I would recommend this to anyone for a wedding venue or other large function. We had around 50 for meal & 160 in the evening.Great atmosphere.

The location was great, setting and gardens picturesque, inside the decor and finish was plush and wonderful, all staff (especially bar staff and waiters) very professional and friendly, food AMAZING QUALITY (and quantity!!). Couldn't have asked for better location or team to help make it a perfect day. Memorable for all the right reasons.

Wonderful deluxe salad bar and dishes on the menu, with very friendly staff, and outstanding surrounding. Sit on the big sofas with the fire or sit at the takes over looking the wonderful golf greens. Really wonderful experience. The bad news is it's members only.

In my view the Pavilion at Branston Golf and Country Club is not a restaurant. It is a venue for meetings and events.I was not pleased with our Christmas Day lunch at this "restaurant". I found the staff to be lacking but this is probably due to them not being experienced waiting staff but students/temporary staff brought in to assist on the day.We were advised that a glass of "Kir Royale" would be served on arrival - well I do not call help yourself from a table in the foyer as "being served".At no time during our meal were we asked if everything was to our satisfaction. If we needed anything during the meal we had to get up ourselves and find a member of staff to assist. To top it all - whilst we were being served our coffee and mince pies the staff started to clear the room - here is my point about the Pavilion being a venue for meetings and events - if it were a restaurant then the chairs would not have to be moved/stacked. I was surprised they didn't start vacuuming the carpet before we had left !I would not recommend a Christmas Day lunch at this venue.

We went to this restaurant on a Groupon for Sunday lunch. And whow we weren't disappointed. Lovely set up tables. Big room round tables. ( so much better for people to talk ) Soup was had by some of our party ( wasn't very hot ) and other starters were out on table to help yourself, lovely selection offered. Carvery was again very good, hot, fresh, and served by friendly staff, We did pay extra to have a sweet, and paid a very good price of it (not ripped off ) with tea and coffee to finish off, The hostess was kind and chatty which made us feel very welcome. And just to put you in the mood you could hear the panio playing in the foyer. What could be better, We will be Back no doubt to that. Well done.Sandie and Brian

Having worked at Hoar cross hall for the last three months and visiting the Lancaster cafe every day cannot recommend this hidden gem any more than the 5 stars it has. Tina Janet and Trouble! Have looked after us no end and will help with anything on the menu. The specials are always cracking too. Enjoy. Many thanks Ian and the gang

Had a gorgeous takeaway from here this evening!.. Staying close by at Whycnor, travelling back from the NEC, so ordered enroute, and collected as we past, but they did offer delivery... A very busy place, which I can see why, sheek kebab starters, south Indian garlic chicken, chicken tikka passanda, veg pilau, bindal barghi, and cheese & onion naans were all perfect!! We love our local takeaway, and never find anywhere close to quality, but tonight we might have just found a better one!! Trouble is it's 300 mile from home 😅.. will definitely be back next time I'm the area!! Update Nov 2024: 12 months later and we're back in the area, not disappointed again, and another fantastic Indian takeaway, just as good as we remember 😍.. apologies for poor photos, we were dying to tuck in 😂😅

I was quite excited by the concept and was assured by the owner there would be plenty of vegetarian/vegan options on offer. Having an Indian background my instant thought was ‘ok, can’t go wrong with the vegetarian dishes.’ We were a large group with kids. The seating was tight and we were unable to sit comfortably. Only 1 highchair available therefore unable to accommodate baby who had to remain in pushchair. Chef took considerable amount of time preparing what looked like Bhel. Drinks took a long time to reach our table. At this point, we had 4 H-ANGRY kids. Food arrived at a slow pace, which was largely disappointing since it lacked variety, flavour and spice. There was not a single piece of Paneer that was served for the vegetarians. This is a premium item for vegetarians like chicken/lamb is for non-vegetarians. There was no grilled Paneer for starters, nor Paneer curry as a Mains. The non-vegetarian food was mostly tasteless. The Pooris had already been pre-made with a coconut filling (not nice) so when we asked for Plain Pooris/ Naan for the Kids they could not accommodate. We asked for plain chips for the Kids we were served with curly fries. However when the Starters were served it oddly contained plain chips, we were baffled. When additional food/ drinks were requested to the table it was either very slow or forgotten about. On the whole I was completely disappointed with the quality and variety of food on offer. The service and communication was not great. The price per person / all you can eat concept cannot be justified. As a group we did not eat £20pp worth of food. For a vegetarian dining at this restaurant, it is very expensive for what you get. I cannot recommend this restaurant.
