Nice warm welcome and friendly staff with a large car park at the rear of the pub. Plenty of seating outside with a large bouncing castle free for the kids .Watching a charity crown greens bowling match and very busy with reasonable priced drinks range 👌

Fantastic pub, new manager has absolutely transformed the place and it’s still early days. Finally nice and clean, great service, pool table and beer garden. Some of the clientele can be a bit undesirable at times but they walk the line and won’t be long until they are cleared out. Great for popping in for a couple or having a full on weekend night. If you prefer a lively atmosphere go in the bar, otherwise if you just want to relax pop in the lounge on the right as you go in.

Just called in for a quick pint with some family and couldn't believe the transformation from a mucky pub to a spotlessly clean one with beautiful fresh Bass on draught! There's only one ale on atm . . (Also John Smiths) But that's fine as it was beautiful, proper cellar temperature and not chilled! The Bass as well as the Stella was that good that we decided to stay for a few more! The lady behind the bar (I think someone said she was called Corinne) was wonderful! She was so friendly and helpful and was constantly wiping tables down and tidying up - no wonder there was so many people in there!! It's amazing how a place with the right people/staff can transform a place! Once again, awesome fresh beer and the best Bass I've had in ages 10/10 !! 😁 All the best and see you again soon! Improving all the time, the current owners have taken this run down local pub and transformed it into a good local venue. Interior has been modernised, beer garden turfed and made safe, with a kids playground, and food is available. The beer is okay and the guest ale, if available, is often pretty good. Update: New owners in 2022 with an improved beer selection and an interior update. It had gone downhill unfortunately under the previous owners after their amazing start, but things are looking very promising again. Garden needs some TLC, but I'm sure that's on their agenda.

had a hard days graft and wanted a pint to finnish the day first time I have visited the place and was very welcomed and fantastic landlady and local residents highly recommend and good price for carling great place to visit i certainly will revisit

Had a Sunday carvery and it was absolutely fantastic. All freshly cooked, great selection of meat, veg, potatoes and trimmings, oh and proper, thick, tasty gravy. Great value at £6.95, will definitely be going again.

Just a good old fashioned pub. Carvery on Sunday 12 till 3. Had one yesterday.. Really tasty and worth a look see ..👍

Good traditional pub, friendly service serving good beers. Large comfortable beer garden where children are welcome. The pub dogs and cat came to say hello. Will have to visit again.

Wow! I bowl next door at Stapenhill bowls club , 1st time I've seen 3 real ales on at the Barley in 20 years in very good condition.

It was quiet when I visited. One or two reasonably kept real ales and the usual lager. Good prices. Didn't sample the food so can't comment on that.
