Costa Coffee in East Staffordshire

Nice and quiet when I went in so could sit and enjoy a sausage bap and an Americano out of the rain

Staff are very slow and not very inviting

I’ve been to the drive through on a few occasions now and every time I leave, I think I’m never coming back but then think maybe I’m being too harsh and they were having a bad day. But I’m just getting sick of being disappointed, it’s either that they get my order wrong or they miss items. Few examples, I ask for a sausage bap, they ask if I want any sauce, I say ketchup and when I’ve drove off I find it’s bacon with no sauce. Today, I place my order at the microphone, I asked how spicy one of the wraps was and they said “don’t know never tried it”, then get to the window, they then ask me what drink I ordered as they didn’t know, which isn’t the first time this has happened, why aren’t they repeating it back to me if you’re not sure? They give me the order and I ask where is the wrap and they say they didn’t realise I wanted it, even though I asked for it, I just couldn’t be bothered to wait around so said don’t worry and left. I’d love to be able to go more as I like their food and drinks, but I think you need to train the staff better as it’s been multiple occasions now and it’s simple things like getting my order correct.

The service was a bit awkward, but there were only two staff on shift (owing to shortages) so this was probably not typical. Otherwise disabled access was OK, note that only one of the two toilets was open - rather strange as our visit to Costa in Derby later that day had exactly the same toilet issue!

Outstanding customer service. For me service and kindness is paramount and can compensate for any issues and mistakes. Honestly, I found everyone welcoming, kind and helpful. Keep up the hard work!

This is the perfect location for a drive thru coffee, though you always have to wait a noticeable few moments before being served. It’s not the cheapest coffee in town, it is nice but it should be spot on with the speed of the service relative to the price of the products.

Love my Costa visits with my sister. I just wish there were more food choices, including healthy options

Really nice atmosphere, loads of tables, friendly staff, plenty of parking and of course great coffee.

This review is based on the fact the place is "open" till 19:00 but we got turned away from going in for a drink at 18:00 because apparently they only keep the drive thru open after 18:00

I had an hour to spare today and popped in for a drink. I enjoyed a cinnamon bun (happily warmed up for me) and a hot chocolate. Both were perfect. Service was good and i enjoyed a little bit of work off their free WiFi... one of the nicest Costas I've been too 😊 plus there's a drive through 😉

More staff than customers but the service was so slow. It took 15 minutes to get 2 sandwiches & a drink with only 2 people in the queue.

I've seen better customer service elsewhere and at many other Costa stores. On my most recent visit, I had to wait for the staff behind the counter to finish their chat about their weekend plans before I was served. It would be forgivable if they were busy organising, preparing drinks etc big they were just stood about. This isn't the first time I have experienced this at this particular Costa. Other times I have had orders made incorrectly, despite it usually being an oat milk flat white. Overall, I think there needs to be a greater focus on customer service at this store.

It's a Costa like every other Costa, still does nice coffee though.

Staff are friendly and quick to serve you. The same applies for the drive thru. Plenty of tables and chairs so you always have somewhere to sit if you're eating/drinking in.

Great drive thru, much better than stopping in the main M1 services, great range of drinks and super polite staff. Clean and tidy too. X

We come here fairly regularly during lunch when working at the office. Friendly staff. Clean and spacious sitting area with lots of seating (noticeably better than some other Costa locations). Outside seating. Lots of clearly labelled vegan options - Costa seems to really be leading the way in this regard.

Nice new shop and was clean. No used tables left in a mess. Didn't use the toilets so can't comment. Friendly staff. Wide selection available in the fridge and cakes although one of our cakes was a bit old. Will visit again

I asked for a oat latte, i sat down and tasted it, it just tasted like froffy milk, then i realised it wasnt oat milk!!! Im fuming as i get a very upset tummy with cows milk, it was discusting also. I was offerd a new one but i just got my money back, i dont feel like the girl who made the mistake really cared, peopke need to be more careful with allergys!!! It could of been worse for someone else!!

Lovely staff great coffee and the pork sausage sandwich was ace.

Clean and tidy fast service, didn't offer to help us with our tray even though both of us disabled, my cake only had one days date on and very squashed in the wrapping.

Hidden gem of a costa! I drink Costa coffee regularly, and being honest some shops drinks do taste better than others. Maybe this is due to being a new place and the staff are fresh and enthusiastic, but drinks here taste just right! The shop is clean & modern. The drive thru is quiet & fast. All Staff have been very friendly & attentive.

Fantastic friendly staff who are attentive to your order. Tried the 'new' vanilla energizer latte, and wow it was delicious!!! A very clean and organised site and rather popular!

An enormous queue, poor customer service when I eventually got to pay for my order as the staff didn’t greet me or even offer a simple “sorry for your wait”. Given the fact this is a new Costa I’d have expected the owner to be imploring his staff to create good first impressions. Shan’t frequent this specific Costa again.
