I think it's amazing what this hotel is doing for people struggling with housing

Definitely some fake reviews on here, the whole place stunk everywhere I went was an eye sore, worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, out dated rooms, stains everywhere, overpriced and terrible customer service wouldn’t advise for anyone to go back

Good value for money. Spacious for a single room. A little unsure about the sink with a tap near electrics. Breakfast was good.

Stayed over on a Wednesday in order to go to a concert at the Parr Hall. Travelling by train it’s very convenient as it’s across the road from the station. Very convenient for the town, everything in walking distance. Warm and friendly reception welcome and booking in. Buffet style English breakfast with again very friendly staff. The hotel is old and in need of some TLC our twin room was clean, spacious and warm. Great value for money twin room and breakfast for two £70. If you want new modern decor then pay double at the travelogue, I would stay there again.

Called in for a couple of drinks whilst waiting for a train. Excellent service and, considering it's a hotel, very reasonable prices.

Listen, it's a two star hotel at a reasonable price. Do not judge against four or five star hotels. Welcome - good Location - two minutes from the railway station Room - tired but clean Bed - comfortable Shower - well, hot water is normally expected. Floorboards - almost every one squeaks to their own tune. Unexpected stopover following issues with train. Happy to have a roof over my head and a clean bed to sleep in. Can't argue with a friendly hello and £57 for one night. It's not the Hilton, nor does it pretent to be.

If you want a 4 or 5 star hotel-this isn't it! I am used to staying in 4 & 5 star hotels but I choose the Patton Arms because it was near Bank Quay and it would be easy for me to hop on the train if my cousins weren't available to take me around. After I booked my reservation I saw some very negative reviews and I almost cancelled my reservation-I'm glad I didn't! My daughter and I stayed for 8 days. Patton Arms is a very old hotel directly across from Bank Quay (you do not hear the trains). The rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing. The rooms aren't updated to what I'm used to and if that's what you want you need to pay 2 to 3 times more to be located in a less convenient place. There are no elevators but they will help you with your luggage. The first day I had breakfast the bacon was awful. I laughed later in the day to somebody in the lounge that I could use the bacon as a weapon-it was so hard. Every morning after that as soon as I came for breakfast they told me they were cooking fresh bacon for me. The breakfast was delicious! As soon as you enter the dining room the staff is asking what you'd like to drink and if you'd like fresh toast and if the princess was joining me. I only had one electric plug in my room and when I remarked to housekeeping that I had no idea how we would get by on 1 plug (with a teenage daughter with me) they immediately brought me a 5 plug extention. The lounge is charming and the drinks are extremely reasonable. We ordered dinner from the lounge twice after an exhausting day and the food is also good. The lounge was a great place to get together with my cousins in the evening after a busy day of adventures. One thing I would recommend that they get to work on is the squeeky bedroom floors. My daughter was upset that we didn't stay in a hotel with a pool (we would never have had time to swim) but by the time we left she was glad we had stayed at the Patton Arms. The night before we left I got hugs from the sweet bartender (ex-military and she looks like a teenager) and the morning of our departure more hugs from the staff and a bag of candy for our princess. It was a quick walk across the street to Bank Quay and off to Southern Scotland, the birthplace of my mother. That hotel (the only one in town) was equally as old as the Patton Arms and made the Patton look like a 10 Star. I highly recommend The Patton Arms and their charming staff.

El lugar ha sido transformado. Supongo encargado.

Ordered food and drinks to eat outside on the benches in the sun with our dog. Benches were old and speckled with bird poo. Picked a decent one and ordered food at the bar. Asked for an item off the menu displayed at the door but was advised it wasn’t available (sharing board) and so had to order off a paper menu at the till. We got a steak baguette, garlic ciabatta with cheese and an off-menu ‘special’ of chicken loaded chips (I was advised this would be sweet chilli sauce, chicken, cheese and spring onion on fries). The food arrived and I was immediately disappointed. The special was fries loaded with cheese, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce , red onion, and what appeared to be small pre-cooked bits of chicken (the type you find in the freezer section of a supermarket). It tasted very odd, like a slap up meal a student might make after being out all night - but I ate what I could as I was starving. If it wasn’t for the garlic bread, I would have requested my money back. My boyfriend said he didn’t mind his steak baguette in the end - it was supposed to come with caramelised onions but they were barely transparent, and supposed to come with fries, but came with home-style chips instead (but that’s always a win). Drinks were standard. Outdoor area could use some work to be brought up to date, i.e., benches sanded and painted, fence panels put in to disconnect from the car park, lights and decorations, all to make it feel like your not sat on a patch of grass at the side of the road. Overall, service was disappointing and won’t be returning anytime soon. Really unfortunate as the pub is situated in a great area and has a lot of potential, especially for families with kids since bents is down the road.

Excellent food, we had the 3 for £12 bar snacks which were really tasty and very generous portions. We also had the Signature burger which was delicious, the best burger we’d had for a long time. Excellent value and would recommend.

Never been before but read reviews which seemed great, we all had Sunday lunch, I’m not saying it was a bad meal but the potatoes were hard, there wasn’t enough meat and would have liked more gravy maybe offered in a small jug, the beef was lovely and I did enjoy it but was disappointed with lack of veg, for dessert 3 had fruit crumble of which they all said it was mushy with a lack of flavour, for what is charged these days things do need improving, also the service wasn’t attentive enough I had to keep getting up to get some attention
