Food decent, staff rude. Mumbling under his breath at us, knocked cutlery on the floor and when asked to replace quite literally threw the new cutlery on the table and stormed off. We had to actually ask if there was a genuine problem with us because of his shocking attitude. Shame really. Wouldn’t ever go back due to the incredibly rude old man.

We had a very nice family meal here. Thank you all!

Otra visita al pasaje a la India. Todo fue perfecto de principio a fin. La comida era genial también consiguió la comida a la caliente que prefiero. Todo estaba fresco y el personal era atento. Este lugar es siempre limpio y amable para las familias. Can't fault volverá de nuevo.

Hemos utilizado Passage tanto para comer como para llevar durante más de 10 años, siempre ha sido excelente, nunca tuvo una mala comida. Escuchamos a algunas personas decir que eso ya no es bueno, pero decidimos (basándonos en nuestras buenas experiencias anteriores) darlo y tener una salida. La comida era muy sosa, el pollo estaba demasiado cocido, ensalada de cuerda, generalmente no es lo mejor y lejos de nuestras experiencias pasadas.

He estado aquí varias veces y he tenido comida para llevar. En el restaurante, el servicio y la comida está bastante bien. Al cenar allí absolutamente evitar el vino, yo tenía blanco y rosado. Sabe como si hubiera estado sentado durante bastante tiempo y creo que eran £ 6 algo por vaso. No te molestes, desperdicios de dinero y ninguna calidad para ello. Aprecio que sea un indio y no un saboyano, pero fue malo. La comida para llevar recientemente fue la última vez que vamos a pedir frente aquí ahora. De nuevo se sentó en el trono varias veces y simplemente no vale la pena a pesar de que sabe bastante bien.

Went to this place has we a few friends who Pick a restaurant to go once a month this was a buffet meal the various starters were warm and not a great choice the curries were all cold to warm lamb jalfrezi didn’t even taste of anything the whole experience was very disappointing to say the least plus just to finish the night off drinks ridiculously overpriced

Had a big party here, staff struggled with orders and some food was brill were others were poor, Staff cleaning tables whilst still chatting and spilling food on people, struggled to understand what we was complaining about, Butter chicken was a korma for all 5 orders, the chicken was nice but the sauce bland. Prawns were so tough couldn't cut the let alone eat them and the chips was greasy and no potatoe in them. They removed some items off the bill for bad food but that's not on as some of the guests left full and others empty. Over all not a good experience and doubt will be going there again

The food was terrible. Staff are rude and wiping tables when not even left while finishing drinks. Waste food crumbs ended up on a friends trousers, and the staff just laughed. They refunded starter that was inedible. The butter chicken was a korma. The chips were pure grease and stale like they had been reheated in the fryer.

Average Indian food, got a takeaway for five people, my meat dish was only lukewarm, they forgot to put in a Keema naan and the naan bread that was included was very stodgy. Don’t think I will go there again.

A group of 4 of us decided to try the restaurant last Saturday, which after reading some of the reviews we did with some trepidation. However we need not have worried. We were seated at our pre booked table almost immediately and drinks orders were brought within a couple of minutes. Food orders were also taken quickly despite the restaurant being full and again arrived within a matter of minutes. The food was hot, tasty and generous in portion size and the table was checked on regularly by the waiting staff to check all was in order. We were also provided with complementary drinks at the end of the meal and the bill paying was very efficient. All in all an excellent experience and we will be back.

Amazing food, great staff and very busy. My Daughters favourite restaurant so far. We enjoyed it to it's one of my favourite's too. Thank you for a great meal.

What a terrible place. The staff take your money but never deliver the food. When I tried to ask for a refund I was told that I couldn’t have one and then I was ridiculed for being a woman daring to ask a man for a refund. Shocking service DO NOT ORDER YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF

We live in the village and stopped using this restaurant because it had gone downhill, but tonight we decided to give it another go, big mistake! It was bland, cold and generally what I can only describe as a vile experience. The Bhuna was tasteless, the saagwala was bland and watery, the naan breads were cold and really burnt, even the rice had no taste. Extremely disappointing, considering the price. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Shockingly bad!! I did not brought the food but a dear friend got take away from here. Firstly, it’s Bangladeshi chefs cooking Indian food so it’s misleading when they named themselves “ Passage to India”. They got the order wrong but all the dishes we got, chicken korma, paneer curry was overloaded with sugar. It tasted so sweet that you wouldn’t require dessert. Anyone who is diabetic will surely pass out eating the curries. Also, lots of artificial colour used. It’s looked pathetic. The catch is if the curries have colour and taste to sweet, it’s not Indian food but prepared by unskilled chefs and is Bangladeshi food. All the good reviews here looks like they are paid as I fail to believe that people could have such bad taste. Do your self a favour! Avoid this place, shell out a little more and go somewhere authentic Indian or may be buy curries from supermarket if you run out of options. I will be committing unforgivable sin if I recommend this to anyone.

Really poor service over 2 hours wait for main course. Then they tried to over charge us for the meal. Bye a massive £100 pounds absolutely disgusting error. Manager was apauling. I will never step foot in that place again.

The worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Food is average at best. Service is abysmal, would’ve done better at a transport cafe. They are unbelievably rude to customers even when you’re trying to pay them. I would not recommend this place at all. Spend your well earned money elsewhere.

First time takeaway delivery. Not the best how do you forget to put the Nan bread in not impressed. Eat at the restaurant loads of times and it's lovely.

For years we've been buying one vegetarian thali meal as a takeaway option. There is enough for two adults, including poppadoms and chutney, naan,rice, dal along with the thali. They always provide 2 bhajis or 2 samosas. It's fairly random which you get and as we prefer bhajis, we specifically ask for those. There is so much that we never manage to quite eat it all. It's not as spicy as it once was and is now very mild but still worth buying as a cheap and filling takeaway for two.

Booked for 7 o’clock they said they never had a booking till 8 ? Accommodated us but didn’t take a food order till nearly 8 o’clock and waited over an hour for food to arrive and wasn’t even hot? Waiter was rude if you can’t cater for groups don’t take bookings! Arrived there at 7 and no food came out till after 9 lots of other people came in and got served ahead of us.. so to sum up service was very poor staff were rude and food practically cold won’t be going back

I'm vegan and can't eat dairy as lactose intolerant. I am certain they used ghee when I explicitly requested a vegan meal. Later I was left with stomach cramps so I am confident this was because of the dairy/ghee. Won't be going back and won't be recommending.

Very possibly the worst Indian restaurant I have ever visited! As authentic as an Indian ready meal from tescos! One of our group booked as a casual get together with some friends an it went from bad to worse. Starters came out warm, not hot and bland, curries lacked any flavour even lacked salt just seemed loaded with sugar. Absolutely terrible

Good food, generous portions, excellent service. Not being familiar with the area we didn't find parking easy. Table was booked online for 6:30 on a Sunday evening, restaurant was quiet with a table of 8 just leaving, we were expected. Friendly staff, tasy food, very enjoyable.

I go to the Passage about 6 to 8 times a year something I have done for a number of years. I have never had a bad meal or bad service in that time. This week I went with wifey for Banquet Night , we had Papadoms, starter, main course with Pilay and also Ice cream for £16.95, we did spend a little more as we had a couple of drinks each plus extra papadoms and 2 Chapatti's. The restaurant and toilets are always spotless, in fact the restaurant has had a refit with new chairs etc I have never been disappointed with The Passage to India, and for me it is 10/10..

Went for a curry last week after having a leaflet through the door. Leaflet says the main dishes were £6.50 but we were charged £11.50. Checked with the website, it also says £6.50. Why do this? The food was fantastic, though.

This Indian Restaurant is so good. The staff are always so attentive and nothing too much trouble . we had a large party and the meals were spot on. We've celebrated two special birthdays here and would recommend it. They even provided foil dishes to take the curry etc home. I've used them as a takeaway as well and have no issues at all. Same service .

Great food. Special biryani was perfect. Lamb soft and tasty, chicken was perfect and beautiful prawns.

Prawns tasty and wonderfully presented with three sauces available. Top quality lamb chops. Never had them so tender. Waiters friendly and helpful.

This spot was great for a casual night out. We went at 9.00pm with no booking and the staff was welcoming. We got our prawns starters shortly on a beautiful dish with a selection of sauces. Top quality chops: the best in my life! Delicious and tender! I'll be back!

Fantastic food at a great price!

We ordered from here not long back and it was okay. The food wasn’t overly flavourful, and it was just a ‘standard’ Indian — in fact, perhaps more on the bland side. The staff were okay, not too friendly, and the price was way off for the taste and quality of the meal. I probably wouldn’t order from here again and would more than definitely order takeaway from the spot around the corner. There is parking across the street through an alley which is convenient.

Dined with 3 friends & all enjoyed the food. A favourite Indian restaurant of mine but weekends are very busy. Weekdays less busy so a better level of attention & service. Food is of a high standard so worth the wait.

Booked a table for 7.30 when we arrived there was 25+ people waiting. We didn’t get seated till 8.30. starters arrived at 9.10 and it was one of the greasiest Chicken Tikka Masala’s I have ever eaten. My main was King Prawn Sagwala which didn’t look like prawns but some kind of connective tissue!! It was absolutely disgusting. I complained and the waiter brought out a Chicken Tikka Masala, this arrived at 10.10 and by this time I had gone off the idea. My friends lamb was burnt and inedible, her starter was received cold. I will definitely not be returning to this restaurant. The restaurant was full to capacity and they were more interested in the customers who were collecting their orders. A terrible experience ! x

First and last time table booked for 630 never got starters to gone 730 and they was only warm then a 40mins wait after them for are main courses which was so so

First time visiting on the recommendation from friends . A table for 4 booked for 7.30 , we eventually got seated at 8.15 after they allowed people arriving after us to jump the queue. The waiter immediately asked us to order even though one of our party was in the toilet and hadn't even sat down. We eventually got our starters at around 9.15 pm - 2 of which were undercooked and cold (fish pakura) and sent back. Main course of lamb shashlick was burnt , dry and pretty inedible. Concessions were made on the bill but the whole experience was pretty shambolic.

Lamb Naga & garlic chilli chicken were 5 star restaurant standard in a takeaway box. Simply perfect & large portions. It was as good as eating in the restaurant which we do occasionally.

The table wad booked for 7pm for 4 people two weeks in advance of the night. Reception area was small overcrowded we was told to seat near the door under full heating 30+ degrees...waited until 7.30 to be told no table available. The staff seemed more interested in the delivery service than the restaurant which is a shame as used to be very good service in the past.

Diabolical Service. Booked a table for 7pm 2 weeks in advance. Restaurant full, Still waiting to be seated at 7.15pm no empty tables and was told to wait! When explained the table had been booked 2 weeks prior, Manager told us ‘cannot move people out of their seats’ and we have to wait!! Doesn’t even warrant 1 star!! Wouldn’t go again. Disappointing to say the least.

First visit to passage to India and the food was horrible, it was oily with no spice. I ordered a mix grill for 10 quid and I got one piece of chicken, 2 pieces of lamb, 2 piece of Seekh Kebabs and it was chewy (tasted like the days before Food).

I've been here a few times now, each meal has been delicious.

Me and my wife have been going to Passage to India for the last 15 years my opinion is this is best Indian restaurant in Leicester I never had a bad meal from them and the staff are very friendly

My husband and I and my mother came to the Passage to India. My mother ordered chicken resotti, my husband garlic chilli chicken and I ordered chicken tawa. The food was simply delicious and the best curries we can ever remember enjoying. The service was second to none - not intrusive, charming and helpful. We will absolutely be back and can’t recommend enough.

I was really pleased to find this place. Last night I had the best chicken Korma, mushroom rice and Lamb Tikka I have had in years. Will defiantly be back, despite having to travel.

Had a delivery for 4 persons on Saturday evening and the food was so fresh, hot and tasty you would think we sat outside the kitchen not 4 miles away. Absolutely delighted with it and will certainly buy again. Credit to all who work there.
