Consistently the best Indian takeaway in Shepshed. The food is always piping hot and delicious, as well as great value for money. The only downside is that they don't take cards - cash only. Unusual these days, so go prepared!

Watery rice, had to use kitchen roll to soak up. Chicken was dry and onion bhajis were also stale and dry. Very small portions of chutney and yoghurt for the price. Horrible. Won't be using again, much better available.

Ordered food though just eat at 5 o'clock asked for order to be delivered for 8 o'clock and after ringing a few time turned up at 10 o'clock will not be using them again

Have just finished an excellent takeaway from Akash in Shepshed,the Chicken tikka Masala was delicious and came with pilau rice , the Nan bread one of the best ever eaten (Peshwari) and the Aloo Gobi also very flavoursome. Got free Pompadoms plus onion and mint yogurt. Would recommend and the menu looks very varied and good value.

Best Indian food I’ve had in a long time, arrived on time, cannot fault it at all. Had king prawn madras and garlic chicken tikka. Highly recommend

Arrived late and a shocking meal ,just eating it now, chicken over cooked and very poor takeaway .will not be using the akash again, not been the same for a long while

Placed an order at 6.50 pm, was advised at 7.50pm order would be 20 minutes late, food delivered at 8.40pm - 1 hour 50 minutes after order placed . The picture of food delivered speaks for itself . Refund has been refused by shop owner

The half chicken tandoori I ordered came without any salad (as ordered) with some soggy onions on top, was dry, and only lukewarm. Pompadums came with no onion/tomato/cucumber mix but were a good size, well cooked and crispy. We reheated the chicken, fried some onions and made our own accompaniment for the pompadums. All round disappointing- will not be ordering from here again.

One of the worst takeaway Indians I have ever had- bland, cold and expensive! The garlic in the garlic fried rice was burnt and the breads were undercooked and doughy. I definitely won't be ordering from Akash again.

This place has been established in Shepshed forever, we use them 1-2 times a week and the food quality and price is exceptional. Garlic Chilli Chicken never ever fails, simply divine. Delivery always on time but always order via Just Eat

Really nice fresh food, nice traditional tasting sauces and gorgeous rice and naan. I've had some pretty generic Indian food locally and these guys take you back to how it used to taste years ago. Keep up the good cooking and see you soon.

Pese a años de promoción con solo comer, Akash finalmente fuimos directo pero menuda decepción. Sí, la comida es buena relación calidad-precio, pero estaba ya sea antes hizo Nan o probado como la pasta de Pataks con los platos. Es una pena, utilizada para visitar 2-3 veces a la semana cuando vivía en Charnwood una carretera, nada como Little India. No usar otra vez hasta que mejoren la calidad, también ver los chicos encender para trabajar, que es desagradable, sucio civies vestidos!!! Lo siento, pero con una enorme decepción a Shepshed!!

Looked online at the menu and decided to give it a go as our regular restaurant was closed, rang and made and order which was simple but told there would be an hour wait even though they had just opened, which I thought was strange for a week day night, I worked out what our order would cost from the menu online and took the right cash with me to collect, when I got there the man behind the counter asked me for more than I had, I stated I had looked at the prices online, he said oh yeah we haven't changed the menu in a while that's an old one online, so I had to go to the cash machine then go back and my order still wasn't ready despite it now being over an hour! The food lacked taste and the naan bread was awful. Which is usually my favourite bit! Such a shame as there is competition in the village that is so much better!! Will not be returning

Tikka Masala best in area! Staff are always friendly, service is always quick and the food always tasty.

Just had a takeaway from Akash and not very impressed. Ingredients not of the highest quality - lamb was ok but not particularly lean and certainly not melt-in-your-mouth. Keema nan usually has a thick slice of red spicy meat (dangerous word - I know !) but this was a wafer thin slice of dull brown meat which did nothing to inspire confidence. Overall, not a great meal. Prompt delivery and driver was polite but that only really matters if food lives up to expectations.

Me and my family have used this takeout for the last 20 years. They are well known and amazing value. Friendly delivery staff. Always keep to the time they say for delivery. No complaints at all. Always satisfied.

Takeaway onlyThe food is terrible!I had a starter of prawn puri - the puri was a soggy greasy mess, with next to no prawns in a dull, tasteless sauce.The main dish - king prawn bhuna - the grease was slowly separating from the sauce and when dished out on top of the rice water was beginning to pour out of the bhuna sauce as though it had been watered down.They are cheaper that the best curry house in Shepshed imo Out Of India but that is no excuse for the poor quality of the food.I'll never have any food from there again!
