Good location for a small wedding, but there are many things that need to be upgraded. The chairs are really unsteady and wobble when you are eating your dinner or having drinks later in the evening, the choice of drinks are very limited, the decor could do with a coat of paint and the gents tiolets are disgusting, the smell was horrendous. The outside seating is covered in stains. On the plus side, the meal was wonderful, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful.

I have to say a special thank you to Naomi who we dealt with at most of our pre wedding meetings and a massive thank you to Sophie who went absolutely above and beyond for us. Sophie, if you read this I can’t thank you enough for all of the support you gave me whilst I was so extremely nervous, I’ll never forget how much you helped me. The parlour is absolutely stunning and we wish we could do it all over again, the memories that have been made will be with us always now. And the parlour is the reason for it! Thank you so much again, Mr and Mrs Rogerson🤍

Fabulous place which is well looked after. Food was delicious and staff super friendly. They certainly knew their stuff and worked well under pressure. Drinks were expensive but what you would expect from a wedding venue. Outdoor area is under shelter with loads of fire pits for a colder night. Only downside was that the bride and groom got married outside and due to traffic noise nobody could hear the ceremony. They need to look at investing in mics. Overall great venue if you are looking for a smaller wedding.

The perfect wedding venue. We have just had our wedding at the parlour and it was managed perfectly and was so beautiful. Oh I’m still absolutely on cloud 9. We chose the parlour nearly a year ago, and since then the communication has been great, the excitement from the staff has been lovely and their attention to detail was great, we were always able to have all the little touches or changes we wanted and the staff were so accommodating. We had taster nights, Mother’s Day afternoon tea, various showcase evenings - we made the most of all of them in the lead up to the day. The venue just feels magical whatever is happening there. On the actual day we had Cameron as our master of ceremonies who was fabulous. He checked in to check we were okay a lot, and offered to get us anything we needed making us feel very special. He laughed and joked with us and kept things going really smoothly at all times. He was so on top of everything and any questions we had or little things we asked to be edited seemed to be no effort or worry. He also kept us informed of what was coming next and worked so well with our photographer. We would like to thank Cameron for making it all so chill and relaxed and keeping our day running so well - Cameron handed over to another member of the team in the evening to continue. I feel awful that I can’t remember her name! She was fantastic! She dealt with everything wonderfully and if we had any questions or requests she was really quick with sorting everything out. Unluckily a family member hurt themselves just before our first dance and she was very quick and kind at dealing with it and sorting it out. She was really attentive and actually asked me exactly what we wanted doing about timings and made sure this happened for us - which we really appreciated. As a whole the Parlour has been the absolute perfect venue, accommodating to anything we wanted, being in a stunning setting, getting excited with us for our big day, and everything ran so smoothly, meaning we could have the joyful day we’d planned. Couldn’t have asked for a better or more romantic venue. There are also lots of photo opportunities and some gorgeous places to take amazing photos, which was amazing! Nature shots, house shots, garden shots - it feels like your own little slice of magic.

We got married on the 08.10.2021 and I can only describe the day as perfect. The venue was the perfect setting for the intimate and cosy vibe we wanted (48 day guests). All of our guests commented on how unique and beautiful the venue was. We were very lucky as the weather was amazing, it was sunny and hot so we were keen to make the most of our drinks and canapés reception. This was no issue at all and we were not rushed in for the wedding breakfast, which we really appreciated. The food was fantastic both during the day and on the evening, loads of our guests commented on this, and the bedrooms in the cottage were beautiful. We really managed to have such a relaxed day. On the evening we had double the guests and again it was intimate enough for everyone to mingle together but spacious enough to have everyone we wanted there. I would like to say a massive thank you to Rebecca, she was simply amazing. Not only did she ensure the day ran smoothly, she went out of her way to help us at every opportunity and make sure we were having the best time. I think it was obvious that I was incredibly nervous and Rebecca made me feel so at ease. All of the staff were friendly and looked after everyone, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Also a massive thanks to Molly, Naomi And Rachel who held our meetings and helped us organise our day. Would 1000% recommend the venue to anyone thinking about booking for a wedding. Megan

I had heard about The Parlour from some friends. So off we went on a Saturday afternoon. I had the smoked salmon which was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. When one customer started to complain about not being able to bring his dog inside and lack of Wi-Fi the staff dealt with situation in a very professional and calm manner. Who really wants to go out and sit, checking their phone, rather than enjoying the company and conversation of whoever they are out with? The only thing I could find fault with was the lack of lights outside going to the car park. We all agreed that lighting would improve things for the elderly and those with mobility issues. Hence the 4 stars. I

I visited here yesterday with my wife and a friend and went in with high hopes as the surroundings were beautiful, our visit started poorly when the reservation my friend had made the day before couldn’t be found and we had to wait while the staff hurried around to sort us a table while we were stood like lemons in the middle of the restaurant, we order 2 gentleman’s afternoon teas and one regular along worth coffee and proseco . All the drinks ( hot and cold ? All came together which seemed strange and then our food. After the food was given to us this was the end of any kind of service ! No check to make sure everything was ok , no offer of refills for our drinks and no service at all. This was made worse by the fact the menu stated there was a 10% service charge so the offer of afternoon tea for £14 was actually £15.40, we had finished our food ages before anyone cleared a plate and then did some reason they cleared half and ten mins later took the other half, we waited even longer for the bill and in the end and very frustrated we went to the counter to pay. Overall the food was very nice but the service was below par so we won’t be visiting again as there are far more options to try elsewhere

I would strongly recommend to anyone with an allergy to exercise great caution after the discrimination I faced when attempting to use this venue. We had booked the afternoon and also the gentleman’s afternoon tea for 11 people to celebrate a relatives birthday. During the booking it was disclosed that I have a severe allergy to latex ( rubber ) which means there are certain foods which I am unable to eat such as strawberries, bananas, kiwi, pineapple to name the ones commonly associated with afternoon tea. I am unable to eat anything that has been covered with cling film. It was advised when we called that I could potentially die due to the severity of my anaphylaxis. We were assured that everything would be fine. A couple of days before we were due to go, we called to check the booking as we did not receive email confirmation as promised, and again mentioned my allergy. To which we received the following response we cannot guarantee that cling film will not be used in the kitchen area or to cover your food as this will be prepared in advance. As stated by The Parlour at Blagdon “ made fresh to order” not made in advance. On requesting an individual platter to be made for myself on my arrival to ensure it had not been covered with cling film, and any of the cakes that contained the certain fruits would not be included on my platter, the response was negative. It was then suggested that I could bring my own food, without any suggestion of compensation or reduction in the total bill. Not only would this single me out from everyone else in the restaurant I find this to be absolutely disgusting that the establishment were not willing to accommodate somebody with a disability. I have never found this to be an issue anywhere else I have been, I have always been catered for by asking me what foods I can eat and what I would like to replace those that I can’t. This condition is classsed as a disability. The Equality Act 2010 says you mustn’t be discriminated against because of your disability.

Visited this venue on a rare hot Sunday in June. A fantastic place to be for a wedding day. I was both punter and grafter having been booked to play with my band Boys of Brass, and invited as friend of the wedding couple. The staff were dead friendly all round. The beer price was under £4 which makes a change and the grub was bang on. There's plenty of room to chill as we had the whole place booked plus there's a designated kids play area which is handy. If the weather wasn't so good (the middle of winter say) I'm not sure if the Parlour would be as inviting however. Regardless of this, my summertime experience of the site was top drawer and I'd like to return at some point soon.

Wonderfully friendly staff get you off to a great start at The Parlour, they are genuine, friendly and professional/knowledgeable. They offer a slightly unique menu mix of either 'formal' afternoon tea or a brasserie lunch-type menu. Food is good value as it is elevated to 'chef-y' levels with obvious home-made dishes, little extra touches and ingredients you can actually identify (like fresh horseradish on dishes using roast beef for example). However the cost is no greater than typical mass-market catering. Afternoon teas tend to range from £10-£20 up here and, at £14, this offers a £20-level experience at a substantial discount. Portion size is 'just right'. I loved this place so much I visited for the first time with a friend on Thursday and hurriedly returned with Mrs J on Monday......and I am usually someone who gets out about twice a year!! Comfy and nicely styled surroundings finish the whole experience off nicely. Thoroughly recommended.

I have in the past praised this lovely shabby chic quirky place BUT today i took a business friend for Coffee & cake! the car park is awful-- full of huge deep portholes! then into main building-- there was a celebration in the Garden hut/ shed and appeared busy-- went into main shed which was the old milking shed and is lovely BUT Every table was RESERVED -- the girl on front of house showed us to a small low coffee table -- i asked where the cakes were-" oh we only offer reserved bookings and Bistro menu now" -- well it was almost lunch time so said ok-- what an odd menu-- i had a steak sandwich , salmon was ordered and a chicken one for our third guest-- when it came i asked as only ONE table was occupied could we perhaps sit at a higher table as this was really difficult--"oh yes they are not going to be occupied until 1pm--this was at 11.50am! -- food was ok -- chicken sandwich reported as lovely-- mine was nice but at £9! bit dear -- cold drinks were brought -- the new menu isnt what it used to be -- no scones/ cakes/ snack food only plated fancy bistro stuff-- when we asked for the bill there was a very cheeky £3.41 service charge!!! really??? we wont be back-- sadly to say it looks lovely but as one member of staff said to a customer on the next table who asked why she couldn't have a single scone she was told" well customers sat for hours with a single coffee and scone --this way we can run a better business" Not in my book-- sorry Blagdon i wont be back-- wont bother booking either-- £34++ for 3 sandwiches... and it was so cold in there with the door constantly being opened as staff ferried food from the next shed/ hut which is the cooking hub -- you have lost a very regular customer in me

Four of us recently visited the parlour, two couples, and had a lovely afternoon. We all had the Northumbrian platter. The lovely lady who came to take our order was very friendly and helpful as when we asked for four platters she told us that if we ordered two platters each for two people it was slightly cheaper and there was more of it. When they arrived at our table we were really pleased. The food was presented on a wooden board and very good value. There was numerous slices of beef and ham, salad, a variety of cheeses, pork pie, gherkins and chutneys accompanied with a plate of crusty rolls. We had soft drinks to start with and then finished off with coffee. This is a warm welcoming venue with friendly staff, and very popular so we had booked a table ahead of our visit. Booked a table for friends and 2 young children today. Staff were very friendly and food was nice. They were lovely with the little girls and made us feel very welcome. My posh fish finger sandwich was lovely and we all enjoyed the carrot cake. Take care with the service charge as we almost missed it and nearly left a tip as well. Service was good but not double tips good.

Popped to The Parlour at Morpeth Golf Club for lunch with friends and our children aged 11- 14.From the moment we stepped through the door we felt all eyes looked at us mainly because we we were not playing golf and we had children with us. All our children are well behaved and have excellent manners certainly not noisy or at the age where they need to be entertained. But we certainly felt a coldness on our arrival. We still gave it a go as having been to the Parlour at Blagdon we thought it would be a similar good experience. We ordered a selection of food from the excellent menu and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. It was all well presented and all quite tasty. The only complaint was the a children's chicken goujons which came as nuggets and mini sweet potato and fafafel bites were obiviously cooked in the same oil as the onion bhajis as they tasted the same. But would recommend the food. What let the place down was the atmosphere for anyone visiting who was not a golf club member! We received looks and stares from the elderly golf club members, mainly the ladies but what was worse was the glares at the children who were just sitting finishing their drinks at the end of our lunch from the staff (the young lady with long brown/blonde hair tied up). This member of staff came back twice to clear other tables that were already clean just to look at the boys and made us feel uncomfortable and certainly not welcome.I would recommend a visit for the food only if you don't have children and are aged 60 plus and come dressed to play golf then you might fit in!Since we all live in Morpeth this is a real shame but there are plenty of other good food venues where we would be welcomed.

We invited friends for lunch here and were looking forward to a good meal after viewing the sample menu on their website. Unfortunately, the range of dishes had shrunk considerably, but we made our choices. A few minutes later the waiter returned to tell us that the items we had ordered had run out. (Apparently they change the menu every week and this was only Wednesday) Plan B. We then all chose steaks, a safe bet. A while later we were informed, by a very apologetic waiter, that they had no steaks. Plan C. We all ordered again. After nearly an hour the food arrived. Apparently, we were informed, it had been cooked from scratch - REALLY!! Appalling - Yes, Embarrassing - Very, and not a word of apology from the management! A great pity, because the food, when it finally came, was good.

Had heard great things which sadly were not the case on this visit. Nice surroundings and menu. Service quite slow, although it was slightly (not overrun) busy. On arrival of food, the platter orders came without things mentioned on the menu (namely hummus) I asked one of the waitresses who was unsure and went off to ask. She never returned and continued to serve other tables. Never had any answer to or question. On arrival of the bill a "discretionary" service charge was added ... if it's added to the total it's not discretionary!! I on this occasion would also not have left a top! Disappointing ... I would consider removing that!We may return to give it a second chance

Visited here with family this week. In a very nice position. Decor nice. Food ok but service very slow. Had to ask for the bread buns to go with our soup. Didn't feel service was anywhere good enough to be changed nearly £5 on our bill as a service charge!!!. Would much rather leave a tip on the table.

We ate hear as a large group and we ordered ever thing from afternoon tea to ravioli. The food was just lovely and the large selection of mini cakes that came with the afternoon tea was delicious. They provide you with a box to take the cakes home with you as there are just too many to eat. The only critism I have was that we had to keep asking for things that were missing from our order. The place was very busy and the waitresses were run off their feet but they were extremely polite and very friendly. All in all I will definitely be going again. A real hidden gem.

We visited the first garden party/BBQ this year and had a great time. Although it started outside after we'd eaten the delicious food which, by the way, was more than plentiful the rain started. So the whole event was moved indoors and a great party ensued with a mixture of DJ and live music. Everyone I saw there seemed to be having fun, dancing, drinking and just having a laugh. Excellent night out!

Lovely sunny day so decided to have a nice coffee before going for a long walk. Sat outside in the pleasant garden and waited quite a while to be served. It's table service but would probably be better if you ordered at the counter. It's a strange set up as the food seems to come from a kitchen in a different building to the main cafe which is rather odd as the waiting staff have to carry trays across an outside courtyard and I don't know how they manage in poor weather. Anyway after prompting the staff that we were still waiting to give our order it did not take long and we enjoyed delicious cherry and almond scones with clotted cream and jam and good coffees in the lovely setting in the sunshine. Worth another visit on a nice day..

Visited on a beautiful Sunday morning, and opted to sit outside. Orders were taken promptly and food arrived in good time. The waitress brought our food however my dish was not what I had ordered. She quickly and politely took it and returned several minutes later with the correct order. The food was nice, and portions adequate. The mixed grill came with toast, we asked for extra butter which was provided. We enjoyed our food and asked for the bill. I paid in cash and went inside to the till. The young dark haired waitress took the bill with the money. She did not utter one word. There was a small amount of change due which to be honest I was going to leave as a tip. Just as well because she made no attempt to give me my change. After waiting awkwardly for a thank you or the offer of my change, for a couple of minutes, I decided to cut my losses and leave. On leaving the building the waitress who had served me called out thank you. Shame the girl taking money could not have been as courteous.

Came here for my sisters wedding and it was outstanding. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious at any time but the wedding breakfast went above and beyond. I have been for afternoon tea and called in for a coffee and every time the quality, sevice and standards are amazing.

Went with my friend for afternoon tea on Wednesday. Nice outdoor seating as well as indoor. Staff pleasant but not terribly efficient, we weren't offered re fills or asked if things were okay. Car park on site and disabled access. Loos bit smelly but adequate. Afternoon tea was nice, but nothing to write home about, finger food tiny sandwiches, a scone and some plain ish cakes. Tea or coffee refills but not on flavoured teas. It was very pleasant though and it was a glorious sunny warm day which made everything feel nicer. We asked to take the cakes home and the man just plonked a box on the table ! It would be nice if there were a few shops/stalls in surrounding huts maybe selling local produce. It's clearly a popular spot as there were lots of people there. The cakes in the photo were on display but not included in our afternoon tea unfortunately !

Having been here a number of times over the last few years I've sampled a range from the menu. While the setting is lovely the food has been very hit and miss the last few visits. It was always our 'go to place' just down the road for lunch or tea and cake but we have started to go elsewhere.

Had afternoon tea for my wife as a surprise for her birthday only to be very disappointed. Never got to choose what we wanted prior to it being plonked onto our table. Free refills of coffee only to be able to get attention of staff once. Food was disgusting and a complete waste of money. Save your money and don't go here!

My Daughter in law treated me to Afternoon tea as an early Mothers Day Gift. I was really looking forward to it as we had been before for a coffee, unfortunately we were a little disappointed. It was very busy but we felt the staff were a bit off hand, we were offered our drinks but not offered the speciality teas. Our food came and it was nice but nothing special, at no point did anyone come back to check if everything was okay or did we require more drinks. On paying the bill my daughter in law found out that they had added a service charge, nothing tells you that this will be added. Sorry but we will not be rushing back.

Lovely surroundings and ambience - but as a place to eat I just could not recommend. Plenty of staff on but very disorganised. Had coffee and scones. Filter coffee comes with refill but we had to work at getting that as was never offered. Scones very, very poor for a coffee shop/tea rooms - taste and texture like a cheap packet you would buy in a supermarket. Brought to our table without cutlery and napkins, so had to get up to ask for them. Went up to counter to pay. On the counter was a "tip" cup - so popped money in. Then realised bill was an odd amount - only to discover 10% service added. Think this is so bad - especially when receptacle for tips is beside till. 10% was "discretionary" - but still don't think it is acceptable and wonder how many people actually see this.
