We had lunch here today as the Continental was closed. We were pleasantly surprised after reading the bad reviews. I had a ham salad sandwich on granary bread. It was really substantial. Full to the brim with ham, lettuce, onion, tomato, cucumber and red pepper and only £3.80. My husband had a fish finger sandwich which contained four fish fingers in a large roll. We had a bottle of sparkling water and the total came to less than £10. Our order came in about ten minutes so the service wasn't bad at all.

It took a while to try it however since the first time I went I’ve taken my friends who haven’t been back for either breakie or lunch. Dog friendly, lovely service and food that has never disappointed. I hope you remain with us for years to come.

Extremely poor service, understaffed. I waited 25mins for a takeaway coffee and hot chocolate. One member of staff looked like a rabbit in the headlights the other downright rude. Extremely disappointing as I'm local and wanted to support an independent retailer.

Absolutely stunning breakfast. Warmly greeted and friendly staff. My egg royal was amazing. Such a beautiful place and definitely be back.

Spot on for a Saturday brunch. Perfect poached eggs - the Avocado Breakfast muffin was delicious, beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. The coffee here is great and service was impeccable - shout out to Katie who did a brilliant job. A calming 70s vibe from the speakers really set things off and I made sure to grab a slice of their ginger cake to take away and enjoy later on in the day. Brilliant - thank you guys!

I'll be honest, I consider myself a foodie. Now hold on, I know that the term can be taken in the pejorative but I promise that I'm not a snob. I appreciate a dirty, late night pizza from a 24 hour joint just as much as an authentic wood-fired neopolitan that can be eaten wallet-fold style. With that out of the way, I have to tell you that I love a good roast dinner. Oftentimes, even if it doesn't quite hit the mark in one way or another (not enough veg, under- or over-cooked meat, tasteless gravy, you get the idea) on the whole it will still be better than the sum of it's parts. That's not to say it's easy to make a good roast dinner its just that the truly great ones have to really stand out. With that point made, the roast dinners we had there just yesterday afternoon (me: pork loin, her: veg wellington) weren't good. Honestly. They weren't even very good. They were absolutely astounding and mine was easily the best roast dinner I've ever had. Everything single element was better than amazing. The carrot were beautifully flavoured: enough maple to get the sweetness without being cloyingly so; the savoury thyme balancing it out perfectly. Roasties were incredibly moreish but not used to hide the fact that there wasn't enough other veg (there was plenty!). Broccoli tender but still with enough bite, just enough beautifully cooked meat...and the gravy! This isn't proper gravy as it's labelled by the chef. It sets the bar too high. It's superlative gravy. I won't gush about my partner's veggie wellington as I've gone on enough but it was amazing to see care and attention to detail going into a veggie roast dinner. Ridiculously good veggie option which even a meat lover would enjoy. The chef here really, really knows his food. It is phenomenal and I will say that it has to be the best available in Helensburgh (and we have some fantastic options here). It is food to get properly excited about and deserves to be noticed. I won't say everything is perfect with the cafe/restaurant, however, but I don't think it's fair to mention where improvements could be made as I'm sure that the staff here are aware of the short-comings; many of which are out of their control. If you love incredible food you have to eat here. All the food we've had here is great but the Sunday Roast dinners are the best you will have ever have. Guaranteed.

Highly recommend this hidden gem of a place. Went in to get coffee and a wee cake, ended up us all getting a meal. I had the Sunday Roast and it was so tasty, beef was perfect. There was 6 of us in and each of us had empty plates. 2 of us had smoothies and the girls said nicest smoothies they have had in a long time. All the staff 1 girl, 1 boy and owner (I think) were all so accommodating and nothing was a hassle. We have already recommended the cafe and cannot wait to come back to try it during the week or a Fri or Sat night. Thank you

Inventive, varied and delicious cooking across a series of small plates that worked for sharing but that met the appetite. My only issue was I couldn’t quite manage to try everything on what was clearly a carefully curated selection because they’re not that small! Fantastic value for money for a high quality culinary experience.

Brought my Photography & Wellbeing Group here for a coffee after our photowalk around the park. Lovely coffee, waitress was delightful and efficiently arranged seats for our unexpectedly large group. Definitely recommend.

I should have done this review ages ago as this for me is the best restaurant in Helensburgh. My parents have been in the town for over 40 years and this is their go to place as it is with many locals which for me says it all. Jamie and his team go out of their way to make you welcome we even had my Dad's 90th birthday held here. The food? Advice? Go for anything it's all excellent. The fish and chips are the best I've ever eaten and their Sunday roasts are heaven. The one or two people who have criticised the place I reckon were asked to by competition as anyone would realise that there are far more 5 stars than 1 so you don't have to be Einstein to work it out. Jamie keep up the good work, love the place, the food and the team. Don't even hesitate for a minute and the only thing you won't like is having to choose from a menu where you want to try everything!

Truly excellent breakfast, put together with fresh and well cooked ingredients. 3 of us had the full Scottish, not a scrap left in the plates. My sister has a breakfast burrito which she said was one of the best things she's eaten. Smoothies were delicious too! Will definitely be back!

Delighted to have this on our doorstep, best breakfast in Helensburgh. This is by no means your typical full fry up type place; although it is on the menu. The food has finesse, is thoughtfully paired.

It is (and this is not a joke) FOURTEEN actual human pounds for two fish tacos. Each taco has half a fish finger in it. The coffee comes from a machine and the kids meals are £5.50 for chicken nuggets plus one side (chips OR veg, you couldn’t possibly have both). They’ve also got the cheek to line the entire place with cookery books as you’re chomping down on your seven-quid half-fish-finger taco with two bits of corn in it.

A little late review but would just like to pass on my thanks for a fantastic night. The food was some of the tastiest I've had. The portions were fantastic and an excellent menu. This is the second theme night we have been to and are already looking forward to the next one. A great big thank you to all the staff especially the chef. Cheers and see you soon Graham and Tracey

What a little gem this place is. Don't be put off by it being a park café as the food is superb. I had the haddock chowder and it was excellent, very filling. We will definitely visit it again when we come back on holiday next year.. I hope the locals know how lucky they are

Drove over 80 miles to taste what have been described as Scotland’s best scones, and we weren’t disappointed - they were sensational! The food, coffee and service were all outstanding. What a fantastic cafe - definitely a must-visit if you’re anywhere near. The food being served around us looked fantastic. Just sorry we’re not Helensburgh for the Park Pavilion’s next theme night - they sound wonderful. Will definitely be at one in the near future.

Having experienced Breakfast,Lunch Brunch and Coffee n Scones I had to try the Tapas night! It certainly did not disappoint! We had the most wonderful food and top dollar service from start to finish. Jamie the chef has a rare skill not just with his cooking but with putting everything together to make it excel! Superb culinary skills on display for sure.

My husband and I enjoyed absolutely mouthwatering flavours in a large selection of meat, fish/ shellfish and vegetable tapas all served authentically this evening. With experienced chefs hailing from or having worked in Portugal and Spain and here in Scotland, the resulting flavours tonight were sharp, fresh, rich and delicious. We sampled about 7 or 8 tapas, I loved the cod cheeks in mojo verde, the boquerones ( anchovies ) and avocado toasts with pico gallo. Tbh I could go on. The new Park Pavilion building is beautifully modern, constructed of stone, wood and glass with views out into the park. The interior is stylish, comfortable and welcoming. Parking is easy beside The Victoria Halls. Would thoroughly recommend a visit here for brunch, lunch, coffee and delicious selection of home made scones and cakes and also for dinner. So French, Spanish and Italian themed evenings have been planned so far. We will be back and thank you to all for a great welcome and lovely service.

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.

When open (it has now closed permanently); it was a great wee eating house! We went there often. It will be sadly missed, used by many locals, tourists and organisations as an affordable restaurant.
