The Park at Cambridge Regional College in Cambridge

The ambience is excellent and parking in the evening was easy. Considering that the majority of waiting, kitchen and bar staff are students, the experience was excellent. A couple of little niggles were shared with positivity and acknowledged. Food was excellent, and good value. We have already booked for a theme evening and will book a Christmas Dinner. Many congratulations.

Following great Christmas dinner at Seasons, The Park, CRC (Cambridge Regional College, my partner and I decided to go to their Thai-themed evening. The College trains chefs, waiters etc in all aspects of running a dining establishment and the students a responsible for the meal, from fresh ingredients to its presentation, delivery to table, clearing from table etc. Once again, a delicious exceedingly reasonably-priced 3 course meal, beautifully presented, and served by our attentive waitress, Daisy,who made sure that we had everything we wanted, and that all was ok. Much better than a mere "ok" in our opinion. and we look forward to our next visit. Restaurant is simply, but elegantly and tranquilly kitted out- the lighting is novel and effective- but you'll need to visit to see what we mean!

Last day of January - vegetarian options with vegan starter on the menu then. This is fantastic value - £12 for a three course meal. The starter hummus and flatbread was tasty, the main of celeriac and feta with carrots was really well made and my partner's beef starter & seabass main was apparently very good; puddings of chocolate mousse & lime pie great! We had a lovely waiter - Óscar - very attentive and friendly. If you ate like this in a commercial restaurant you would be very happy - but you never would for £12 - but here you can see students learning new skills which makes it even better as an eating out experience. Our server today was Oscar. He was very pleasant , helpful , friendly and efficient. Our meal was very good value at £12 . We had been given a voucher last time we came here and we got 25% off. Bargain.

We were attending the annual Bee Christmas event and had a very good 3 course Christmas dinner. The plates were hot ,the food came out all together and each course was delicious.On our table of differing choices there wasn’t one complaint and everyone agreed how good it was. The service from the front of house when we arrived to the excellent waitress service the whole experience was of a high standard. We all left talking about what a lovely evening we had had and my wife and I are certainly looking forward to returning. Well done all and a big Thank you to everyone. Happy Christmas.

Considering they are all trainees, we've had many poorer experiences in "proper" restaurants. Been twice in last two weeks, each time not at all disappointed. Ok if you're really picky you can identify the odd shortcoming but overall, very, very pleasant experience. Today's pork belly was to die for as was the slow cooked chicken starter, yep, chicken! As for the service, very good, some inexperience showing but, my word, can't fault the effort. Definitely going back

We were here for a Cambridge Bee Keepers Christmas meal. What a treat! Beautifully prepared and presented food with excellent portion size. The service was excellent and the trainees were a credit to their college and tutors. Thank you all!

The Histon and Impington walking group had our christmas lunch at the Regional college Restuarnt on Friday 10th of December. We had a wonderful lunch and we were well looked after by waiters and waitresses especially by Max who looked after our table. Many thanks to you all.

I went for a 3 course lunch in November. Every course was delicious. The students did a good job of serving our food and drinks. The blue cheese dumplings served with the braised beef were yummy. We liked it so much that we booked a Xmas lunch. This was a totally different experience. The bread served with the soup was dry and hard. The roast potatoes were pale and the middles hard. The sprouts I couldn't get a fork in. Whoever is teaching the students in the kitchen must know that roasties should be crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Gravy tasteless. Yorkshire dry. Bradley who served us did a very good job even though he was learning. As it was a Xmas lunch for a group, it would have been nice to have crackers on the table and a bit of decoration to make it seem like Xmas.

Both the food and service were very good. Our Waiter, Max, was most attentive. We were made to feel most welcome.

Went yesterday for a lunch with friends. Jack does a marvellous job with the booking process and also the coordination of the staff and smooth delivery of the meals. The food was excellent, service very attentive and by Fiona our server and all the other staff were very good. Cannot recommend The Park enough. I went here for a work Christmas meal. It is all served and cooked by the students. The food was lovely, well presented, good Portion size and hot. Our server was William, he was very polite, dressed smartly and anything we needed he brought to the table. The service was prompt and there was no long wait time between courses especially as we were a group of 28. Well done everyone!!

We attended the college scare night for Halloween and had the three course meal which was prepared by the students. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was great. I would highly recommend eating here.

Tuvimos la cena de tres platos y todo el poder para los estudiantes sirviendo comida de muy buena calidad, en particular los postres fueron muy buenos. Almorzamos con 5 colegas el viernes. Teníamos 3 campos que eran una maravilla, desde un menú equilibrado - todo estaba preparado a la perfección y el cordero era increíble (Marcus y Monica sería muy impresionado! Yo calificaría esta comida en el parque entre los mejores. . . Para empezar tuvimos una selección de canapés; mi favorito era un cálido suave scotch huevo. (V). Para mi plato Parsnip seleccioné el asado con patatas fritas, Asada, sopa de ajo (V) seguido por Elderflower y sorbete de champán. Otros tenía pollo Terrina o cóctel de gambas.

Disfrutamos de una cena muy agradable relajado de navidad la pasada noche. La comida era realmente de primera clase, cocinados a la perfección y bien presentado. El personal era muy acogedor, cómodo y tenía un ambiente relajado, y había una buena lista de vinos con precio en areasonable. En general, tuvimos una comida increíble a un precio razonable. . We booked a table for Dinner on Thursday evening at The Park Cambridge Regional College. Cambridge. We had a nice bread appetiser, followed by very good three course meal which was cooked by the students (as it's a training College) the three of us had different meals (by choice) very nicely cooked and served. The restaurant is very nice, we have been quite a few time over the past couple of years. Do give this a try as any feed back helps the students.

Went for a special dinner on 6 October. The food was lovely and beautifully presented. The young people who were serving did a wonderful job with efficiency and charm. Well done. There were a few small issues like wine wasn't cold enough and, although we didn't expect, were given a discount. All in all, a great eating experience. Thank you. Can't wait to book again.

Excellent food and caring service at a low price.A restaurant used as a training establishment for Cambridge Regional College students. The food was served on hot plates by smartly dressed students. The food was excellent and far better than many commercial establishments where the dishes are delivered by Brake Brothers and heated up on site.There were a few loose ends but if you recognise that the service is provided by competent but slightly nervous teenagers, you will enjoy the experience. It was good to see the students working effectively. Try and visit during term time when there is a slightly bigger menu on offer.

I have been here several times and it is always excellent value yet without compromising on the good quality food which is very well presented. The atmosphere is functional (though improved due to attempts to soften the edges) as it is in a characterless modern room. However that's a small price to pay for what is an excellent restaurant with better than average space between tables where any occasional slight mistake can be accepted as the students are learning on the job. .

All twenty two dinners from the Cambridge Heidelberg Friendship enjoyed an excellent meal on 12th May. The service was impeccable and the four students working were discreet while showing excellent skills in their field. The visitors from our twin city were very impressed with the quality of the meal. All in all an excellent start to the annual twinning trip which this year was in Cambridge.

I work nearby so pop along for lunch fairly regularly. The food always amazing and the service delightful. Its a training environment and there is a tutor nearby if needed. Great value for money.

Went to the employers awards evening last night ...wow! Had an amazing meal, made by very talented people ,taught by very incredibly talented people. This was as good or even better than some top class restaurants....ask anyone that went

I visited this restaurant whilst on a business trip. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The food is cooked by the students, under the supervision of their tutors, but it's better than most of the professional restaurants I've visited. The prices were so low you could afford to eat here every day. A hidden gem in Cambridge

My husband and I went for dinner at The Park restaurant this evening. Both the food and the service were the best I have experienced for a very long time! I couldn't decide on which sweet to have, so the chef made me a trio of all three! Absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Went here tonight for a very inexpensive but superb meal for £10.00 would highly recommend going . All the students and staff work extremely hard to achieve an amazing dining experience. Each individual course was better than the last one, will definitely be going back again and again . Well done everyone .

My partner and I came for a Christmas meal. The service was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding and well presented. We left feeling very satisfied. The restaurant was very busy which was good to see.

Met friends here for lunch yesterday. Very good food and very reasonable indeed. One or two serving mishaps but these were quickly rectified and all in all we had a really good time. Not a lot of "ambiance" if you were just a couple but for a group highly recommended.

Wow!!! Why hadn't I considered the restaurant at the park before! All courses all delicious, well presented and plentiful. Staff were amazing. I went with my daughter and son to the star awards dinner. Will definitely recommend it to friends and family. It's a pure gem. Only Criticism is that it's not well advertised as I'm sure more people will think it's as first class as we do if they knew about it. Keep up the good work.

it's not the easiest place to remember to try, the restaurant is only open term times for evening meals and theme nights and they book up early but it is worth the effort. We were there for an Italian evening, yes it's a very small menu with two main courses and two deserts but the food was good although the portions were a little small - however it is a relaxing place to be where you give everyone the space they need to practice and learn. We have no qualms going back and it is very good value for money.

This was our first visit since 3rd June and of course, we expected a new team to be serving us. Four weeks into the new term, things are a little slow as the team have to learn to work together. After all, this was only the 4th dining night! The food was well presented, but a little below the usual standard. My companions had the pork, which was a little dry and the potatoes were just warm. My braised ox cheek was very tasty, although initially served without the artichoke puree. A replacement was quickly supplied, though. Overall, a good meal and a fun evening. Our next visit will be the Italian Evening on 26th November and we're looking forward to it!

I ate at The Park yesterday evening and the food was amongst the best I have eaten in a while. Excellent variety of choice, excellent quality and prepared and presented beautifully. A good selection of quality wine at reasonable prices. Lovely staff who helped create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. This will become a regular venue for me.

We visited for Steak Night (our favourite!)It was the first evening of the term for a lot of the students, and they did fantastically. The BBQ Ribs starter stood out as a beautiful dish, followed by a perfectly cooked steak and a generous helping of Sticky Toffee Pudding at the end!We were served by Alice, who was wonderful and made a real effort to look after us.I highly recommend The Park to anyone local.

We visited the Park for the "Night at the Theatre" themed evening and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The attention to detail (like the theatre tickets, red carpet and popcorn on arrival) was spot on and made it feel like an experience rather than a meal. The staff were all really enthusiastic, friendly and attentive throughout. They clearly loved what they were doing. The meal itself was tasty and plentiful, the steak and chips tasted great, the white chocolate ice cream was absolutely amazing and the platter of mini desserts was an unexpected treat with our tea and coffee. This was my fourth visit to the Park and they have yet to disappoint. My family are looking forward to visiting again soon!

We've dined at The Park on two occasions in the last 4 weeks and have been delighted with the food and service. The "Theatre" theme night on 4th June was memorable for food service and overall ambiance. we were made to feel very welcome and hope to return before the end of term to say Bon Voyage!

Visited with work for a "quick" lunch. A lot was sold out so we opted for a fried chicken special it was awful, truly had. I know they are students but still..... When we said how poor the food was we were told it was because it was a special so hadn't been cooked before... We were still expected to pay, if it wasn't a college and they were students there's no way we would have. Not going back.

We dined in the fine dining restaurant one Thursday evening at the end of April. The restaurant had a special price, cheaper than their normal fine dining price, so we paid £10.00 for three courses. We were served warm bread also and paid a £3.00 supplement for a rib eye steak. Fantastic service throughout the evening and we were even brought more food at no extra cost. The food was elegantly presented and there was a really good atmosphere. As this is a training restaurant, they offer fine dining at budget prices - it is well worth booking in on a Thursday evening. Well done to all concerned.

I visited here for supper on a busy Thursday evening with my sister. When we arrived, every table was full and there was a brilliant atmosphere.The waiting staff were an absolute pleasure to be around - attentive and polite, funny and charming - all training to do something they are clearly passionate about.The food was great and superb value - we paid £18.50 for a set 3 course menu (including steak!) - and I wish I could've chosen every single thing on the menu!I went for the asparagus with dippy egg (the egg was more soft-medium boiled than dippy, but still yummy) with Parma ham. A great starter size portion!For the main I chose a sirloin steak cooked rare, which is served with fries, salad, tomatoes and mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly and one of the few places that give you enough sauce for the meat rather than a thimble!For pudding I had strawberries with meringue and shortbread which was divine - I could've eaten the whole meal 5 times over - and I'm a fussy eater!Great ambience, great staff, great food, great value. Superb! And helping students achieve their dreams. Highly recommend!

Had a superb meal this evening at the Park Restaurant which forms part of Cambridge Regional College. The food was well executed, presented beautifully and full of flavour - 3 courses for under £20 made it a real bargain too! I had the scallop and pea risotto to begin. The flavours in this we're sublime, although the size of the scallops a little disappointing and the salmon skin garnish needed to be a bit crispier - it made up for them in fresh flavour and creamy texture - very yummy!The sirloin steak, fries and sides for main was brilliant. Steak cooked wonderfully (incidentally far better than the popular Cambridge steakhouse we ate in a week before) well rested, delicious crispy fries and the bone marrow gravy was heaven in a jug. Really well done here.Pudding was a delicate array of italian meringue, cream and strawberries. Pretty on the plate and a lovely way to end the meal. Not remotely heavy but sweet, light and fresh.Service was excellent from start to finish. Bearing in mind these are trainee chefs and front of house staff, we were really impressed at the level of attentiveness and effort put in to making our meal enjoyable. Are there tweaks? Yes a few minor development needs, but every single member of staff we encountered was polite, interested and seemingly passionate about the part they played.Well done guys. And foodies - get yourself down to this hidden gem!!

Value for money is surely not the point here. It's a training restaurant and is there evidence that the students are showing the ability to excel in the real world? The food was excellent including a desert to die for but the service was very mixed: some servers were very high standard and confident but some were hesitant and clearly just starting out. But as I said it's a training restaurant and you don't expect instant brilliance. So yes plenty of evidence and well worth dropping in for a good value lunch!

We've known about this training restaurant for years but only just got around to visiting - and now we're annoyed about wasting all those years! This is top quality food and service at a bargain price, and I'm worried about saying how good it is in case you all go and we can't get in again! It's only open one evening a week - more lunchtimes - so you have to book ahead.Quite by chance, we stumbled on their "International Evening", and had a fabulous five-course menu of flavours from around the world for only £20 per head including a cocktail and coffee. The room itself is a bit characterless but the staff had decorated it with items from around the world, and each course was from a different continent. Everything was cooked to perfection and served at the perfect temperature - even professional cooks often send out lukewarm hot courses, so big praise to the kitchen and waiting staff for cracking this one. My favourite was the vegetarian jambalaya - I could eat that every day - and the pulled pork was also delicious.Highly, highly recommended.

What can I add to the previous reviews? This is a hidden gem. The food was of a high standard . This high standard was mirrored by the service on a very busy steak night . There can be no criticism of this establishment . Congratulations to both staff and students for the perfect dining experience.

This is a great example of trainees being taught cooking and food service in a professional manner, thereby learning the right way to do things under supervision. The trainees did a wonderful job, and we had a lovely meal with the service complimenting the good food. I hope they continue into the industry and do well.

Another great meal at The Park, chose the chicken and date starter, followed by the special of the day which was a really nice rib eye steak. The desert option raspberry souffle was once again a special which I would rate as one of the best deserts I have ever had.

We had Friday lunch in the brasserie. Really good choice and excellent value for money. We liked the relaxed friendly atmosphere. Couldn't resist having all three courses so we left well and truly stuffed! Students provide a very professional service. We will be going back soon.

We went for an ex-company Christmas lunch, and enjoyed it; we may be back next year. We liked the chicken liver parfait, mackerel and parsnip soup starters, the turkey and grilled fish main courses and the orange mousse with hidden zest and the creme anglaise with the Christmas pud especially. The roasted potatoes were very good for a restaurant, so more potatoes and veg would have been welcomed. The coffee and cakes at the end were an unexpected treat. The service was a bit hesitant at times, and unfortunate with the buttery cutlery, but polite and helpful. The wine was good, but expensive – New York prices was one comment. Overall, good company and good food in a pleasant environment.

My husband and I enjoyed a very good meal today at this restaurant. Good food Great service and nice ambiance. We will be back and happily recommend this place o anyone.

Another visit to the Park, excellent food and would recommend to others. Well worth especially as students are training and the quality exceeds most local restaurants.
