Lovely atmosphere with live jazz on a Monday afternoon. You really could be in France. I went to use the gents and they have taken the Parisian theme a bit too far trying to create the feel of a street pissoir on a damp day and a toilette sans seat for the derrière. Expensive beer but you’re paying for the entertainment which is fine. Well worth visiting.

Great music on the Thursday ,dancing on the cards rather than chatting !

All time favourite place in Brighton. Come here year over year to chill and visit this place. Get here early for the music if you have not booked. Decent wine for the price. Staff are attentive and kind.

First of all,what a great pub.Have been past a few times,but having dined nearby,decided to pop in.Lovely place with a lot of buzz about it.I ordered a pint and a large glass of Pinot Gris.£18 and some change!! What? I asked the barmaid to break down the cost as the wine prices were marked.It turns out they have an extra charge when there is a DJ!! Customers pay,All Night,for the Music,Why? Great DJ and music ,but if ur packing them in,which they most definitely are,why are we paying? Its not cheap in the first place

We were looking for a place with live music, and found it! We went on a Sunday evening when Polito Boogaloo were playing. They are a Colombian dance band. Fantastic get you up out of your seat music. Everyone got up to dance. The Paris House is a small pub, with French styling, I believe there were French bar staff, well according to my partner. We stuck with Symmonds cider although there is a huge wine list available. We chose two toasties from the menu, which is small but has enough on for most people. The toasties arrived with a salad garnish. Very very tasty toasties. This place has a nice relaxed vibe, definitely no pretentiousness here. A good mix of people which adds to the welcoming atmosphere, this is something I think the owners should be proud of. My only criticism was the dust. I'm so sorry, but I've never seen so much dust anywhere. I convinced myself that it adds to the ambience I loved this place that much. But, as food is served here maybe give a good clean of these areas. We would most definitely be back however. Oh I've only given 4 stars purely because of the dust issue. Sort that and you'd be a 5!!

Unfriendly, unprofessional and unapologetic staff and atmosphere

Management have no control over rowdy customers. There are always fights outside as well as incredibly loud customers and no one is doing anything about it. The music is way too loud and plays all day every day without respect for sociable hours. If you’re going to insist on turning your pub into a club on weekends, invest in some soundproof doors and windows. All neighbours are incredibly unhappy with this place so I wouldn’t recommend. If I could give them no stars I would. Edit: I would like to add that they have since stopped answering phones when I’ve kindly asked them to close their front door during the day due to the loud noise their music and their customers make. I have also had the absolute displeasure of speaking to the owner who was not only incredibly rude but also unwilling to compromise and be neighbourly. I would never make such a fuss over a little noise but this place is beyond disruptive to everyone’s day and night. I have been told to move or go somewhere else to work if I am unhappy with the noise by the owner himself. He also basically forced me to tell him where I live so my argument was justified in his eyes. This is beyond creepy and very very upsetting.

Quirky little pub with lovely staff and some great love music nights

Music, DJ, food and atmosphere is perfect. Interesting people, staff and locals it's all so friendly and inviting. Music is spot on perfect for dancing to...what a way to spend the nite pure class.

Live music & a group performing 'Sheroc' dance, together with individuals given 'the floor' to sing their favourite Blues or Jazz songs from way-back-when. A Monday afternoon, though creating an atmosphere of post-work Friday - pure pleasure.

I usually go there on a Monday afternoon to hear jazz. A really congenial atmosphere...mainly for retirees like me...The staff are very pleasant...and the jazz is good...love it!

A perfect escape from the daily routine! A gem worth taking the walk from central Brighton to Hove. The Paris House oozes with eclectic atmosphere, friendly staff and a great choice of beverages. The food menu is small, but it does the trick. It’s a super way to experience how the locals live, sing and dance…..especially on a Monday Jazz afternoon! Go on pop in for one….

Tiny pub with great old school vibe to it

Quirky pub with great music, both live and recorded, good selection of wines, a decent pint of Harveys and lively crowd of all ages and persuasions.

Vile staff ! I visited yesterday afternoon and found the staff very unwelcoming. The two staff members were chatting when I walked in and completely ignored me while I stood at the bar and continued their conversation as if I was invisible. I was the only person in the bar so one would think they would be grateful for the custom.

Amazing live music always a good time! A bit hot when the room is busy but worth it!

This is a brilliant pub, wonderful atmosphere and, very often, great music. The staff are absolutely lovely. The only down side is that it gets too crowded when there are bands on - it can't be helped that it's so popular, but the squash isn't always appealing.

Nice pub not far from the front with a French theme. Good gigs and decent beer.

Avoid if you can, so many great bars in Brighton but this one has gone downhill over the last year. Brunswick is much better

I gave this a 5* as we had a lovely time, only drinks no food. It helped the weather was great & we could sit outside. Jazz band were awesome & really made the evening. The only slight negative comment is that when my partner went to the bar the barmaid totally ignored him , she didn't make any eyecontact, no customer service whatsoever. A couple of regulars said the pub is a bit 'clicky' but the person that served me was nice. Usual Brighton astronomical prices for wine/beer but a great little pub.

Yesterday was jazz day a monday the music was excellent and the pub was packed to the gills with punters windows were opened and door to allow air to circulate a very enjoyable experience.

A busy pub with a great atmosphere - quality live music - excellent wines - good beers both English and Continental and lots of people who “get it”! Je t’aime.

This used to be one of my favourite pubs in brighton. When I went there this week they have replaced the seating with the most uncomfortable stools known to man, the music was dull and there were no ales available. Hopefully this just a bad night

We had a top evening at le pub after the marathon. Great selection of drinks and great vibe, exactly what I would want from a French take on a pub. Unfortunately we missed the live music but the in house playlist was quality. The staff were really friendly and let us stay in after closing time whilst they cleaned everything up.

Love the funky disco sets on Saturday nights. Sometimes a bit packed and hard to find a table, but I usually go to dance so who cares?

A lovely old pub, with lovely young staff.

Great music pub, grand old high ceilings and music hall wooded floors, lovely big pieces of furniture, huge baroque mirror and a nice bar with plenty of helpful, friendly and quick barmen and girls. The simple menu is perfect and the pâté of the day was truly delicious and enough for at least 2 people served with loads of different breads, pickles and relishes. It’s not fancy - I was seriously overdressed - great music - the night I went was Fukushimo Dolphin.

Sadly no music on the night we visited, but a very cool vibe, and highly recommended.

Wow! Authentic vibes, real jazz and an array of swinging tunes. Atmosphere=impeccable. Perfect day or evening out, an ideal date location and a hotspot for good beer and wine.

Devoid of atmosphere. The numerous fruit flies showed me more interest than the staff. Good to see that Brighton's street drinking community have found a warm spot to sup in. All this and a bargain £7 for a pint of IPA

Live music and a bustling atmosphere

not sure if it was the owner but the guy presenting the live music last weekend was a coked-up tosser. The live music was excellent but the guy running the event was aggressive to customers and was an embarassment to the business really. the majority of the audience seemed to be in mutual agreement they wouldn't be returning. lost probably about 30 future customers to an otherwise cool venue

Over priced drinks. £7 for a pint of IPA and £6.80 for a pint of Peroni. Happy to pay over the odds for a special experience but there wasn’t even a band playing. Just your average bar (in need of some TLC), nothing special. Nice friendly staff but apart from that nothing to rave about.

I love it here. Friendly staff, lots of pastis choices and an extensive wine list. Excellent music and great food too. A regular haunt when visiting Brighton and Hove.

The most expensive place for a pint of lager in Brighton (Aug 2021 = £ 6.37 for a pint of Kronenbourg). Sure, they have Jazz & the ambiance is quite nice. Never tried the food. Tiny area for sitting outside.

Good French style pub, previously the Paris House. Good selection of mainly French drinks. Not the largest and can get pretty hot. Great Jazz nights on certain Sundays..

We used to visit LePub more often before Cov times, and were glad to come back now and check it out. This is a French influenced bistro pub, which is very apparent in the type of food they serve (e.g Charcotterri boards), their offering of European beers (I was slightly disappointed they don't stock Kozel anymore, but Leffe was not a bad alternative), and the decor. They host live music acts (mostly Jazz), which was our reason to come this time :) The layout of the venue dictates that you should come early if you want to secure one if the few tables near the (somewhat Spartan) "stage area", otherwise there's a more spacious seating area in the back, or you can enjoy the sunset in one of the tables outside, near the front door. (Bar) service was quick (even though it was crowded), efficient, and came with courtesy, style and smile :)

We loved living 2 mins away from the Paris house, excellent music, wonderful selection of wine and even free jazz on New Years eve! Sadly after moving away 2 years ago we have not been. My partner booked a table for both of us to watch our favourite jazz group. The paris house replied confirming the booking. We travelled 2 hours from the top of Kent just to go there... and they had no table for us. The lady at the bar was very lovely and gave us a free drink but we both felt utterly crushed. The issue with the Paris house it that there is a crowd who is there a lot and often it feels they get priority. All the tables seemed to have regulars and friends booked on them, and it felt like our booking had been "forgotten" to make room for them. Our booking had been made 5 days in advance and the email reply we got was not automated, so someone must have gone to the effort to respond and confirm. We really wanted to do the whole thing, wine, cheese board, more wine, but left after 2 drinks since the only free table was out the front with the road noise. It pains me to write this, but I felt so upset today.
