Last night with some trepidation we went back to Cote Brighton. From its opening it was our favourite restaurant but the standard went down culminating in a a disaster last New Year's Eve. I am happy to say that last night everything was great. Food arrived hot and tasty, the service was impressive, big shout out to Anna who went the extra mile to make it an evening to remember. We will be going again, maybe not for New Year's Eve this time.

It was delicious. I came for wedding anniversary and the waitress Erin was absolutely amazing and polite. Attentive to details of the order. Plus, I asked to add "i love you" on the dessert and they did it. Thank you team at Cote Brighton.

Mistakes happen, its how you deal with them! Went for an early Sunday dinner yesterday, had reason to complain about something, its a busy place, you're never going to get everything spot on 100% of the time. My complaint was dealt with professionally by manager Sam, bill adjusted accordingly. Left feeling I had been treated well, so I will be back there in a couple of weeks.

I really like the food in Cote but the service needs sorting out. I have held off reviewing previously thinking it might be teething problems but its not. Every time we go for lunch there is some problem or another. This time my steak wasn't cooked how I asked for it. I sent it back and while I was waiting for it to come back another waitress came and started to clear our table. I probably wouldn't have seen it again left to the original waitress. Another staff member asked if we required any extra sauces which we did. Didn't see him again! There doesn't appear to be any allocation of certain areas of the restaurant per staff member so it all appears very haphazard. Five different staff members waited on our table. The staff don't look around enough to see what is going on concentrating on collecting menus rather than reading the room. Trying to get their attention is not easy and often have had to wander round trying to find somebody. I have worked in hospitality and can see that lack of training is an issue. It needs sorting.

It must have been a year since I was here, when it was a regular place to come for me, but circumstances change and all has been on hold until today when we finally made it back here. And how glad I am to be back. As always the menu has changed, and this time, for the quiet season, for the better. The 2 course menu is unbeatable. Charcuterie board was sublime. The bacon salad was amazing. The main courses were amazing too. It’s probably the best I’ve ever known it, and at £17.something for the 2 course menu, cheaper than a burger at Five Guys. I’ve been coming here for years and I can’t think it’s ever been better. Amazing quality food for not much money, I can’t recommend it highly enough. As always, the staff are the loveliest people. I’m back. I’ve been so many other places, and I’m just happy to be back here. It has to be said that not all Cotes are alike, and this one remains the best I’ve ever been in, and appears to only ever get better I’ve always considered it the poor man’s Ivy, but I think you may now be better than them, judging from my last visits. You’ll see me every week through the winter. Absolutely outstanding for the money.

Ah, Le Snail's Pace Bistro — where fine dining meets time travel! If you're seeking an authentic French experience where each course takes as long to arrive as a transatlantic flight, look no further. Two hours in, and I’ve just passed the one-hour anniversary of my starter. I must say, the breadsticks were tres magnifique… back when I could still remember what warm food tasted like. Here I am, 22 minutes before they shut the doors, still eagerly awaiting my main course. I can only assume the chef has personally flown to France to gather ingredients and is trekking back on foot. Ambiance? Divine. After all, you’ve got plenty of time to admire the decor. Service? Well, if patience is a virtue, I’ve reached sainthood. But hey, I suppose hunger sharpens the appreciation for fine cuisine — assuming I live long enough to experience it. Bon appétit… eventually.

The staff were very nice when we arrived a tad early for our table, and we were offered the drinks menu while we waited. I ordered a g'n't, and asked for a lime garnish rather than lemon. I was told they didn't do slices of fruit ....what??? My husband was driving so ordered the only zero alcohol beer on offer, which he didn't enjoy at all. Better selection of zero beers might be an idea. We ordered our meals, and what did we find on the calamari.......a slice lemon! I came by Côte when I collected my ticket for an event at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall. I wanted an early dinner and as Côte is just over the road, I cancelled the booking I had in another restaurant and booked a slot in Côte for 17:00. I got there a bit early I was warmly greeted by the manager and showed to a lovely window table with a great view of the venue. I ordered the French onion soup and the duck. I wanted the duck without cabbage, so I was offered green beans as an alternative. I ordered some wine by the glass that arrived before the food. The soup was just delightful with two large bread slices covered in cheese. When the duck in orange arrived that was just excellent, so tasty. With the service, value for money and great food, I really could not fault the evening. As always at Cote, our waiters were professional, attentive and speedy. Chilled water was brought right away, and topped up later, which as a big water drinker, is a real plus point. My friend and I both had crepes with cherry compote, chocolate sauce and pistachio cream - delicious and just the right size after a lunch main course. We also both chose roast ratatouille with beans, which was...fine, rather soupy, with unusually small chunks of vegetables and very thin slices of courgette arranged on top which were still mostly raw after roasting (they needed blanching first, I think). But, as ever at Cote, a relaxing time.

My friend invited me to her birthday dine at Cote for some classic French cuisine. 🐟The salmon bearnaise was paired with crispy chips, and to be frank the bearnaise sauce was the best part of the whole dish. That salmon was smooth and tender yet was under seasoned which I found myself reaching for the salt multiple times. The portion was small for its value and there was unfortunately little sauce. 🍰The Creme brûlée was so delicious! Very delicate and creamy texture, nothing too sweet. It was just perfect! 🍫The Paris Brest was alright… the choux pastry felt stale and the pistachio cream didn’t have much of pistachio taste in it. The macerated strawberries were quite overpowering making the dessert more sour than sweet. 🤵‍♀️The service was quite slow especially how there was a large crowd to be served on a Saturday night. The food took almost an hour to receive. It took many attempts to gather the waiter’s attention to order. Yet when asking for a birthday serenade for a friend, they took the request promptly and serenaded her in a wholesome way!

The service and atmosphere was excellent, could not fault this at all. The waiter was very attentive and we were seated in a comfortable part of the restaurant. I have to comment on the main courses as the menu suggested that they come with a ‘herb salad’ this is very deceiving as all that was on three plates was a garnish of parsley, NOT a salad! My main had no ‘salad’. What was served was a small handful of potatoes and half a chicken. We agreed that the food tasted nice but very overpriced for what was served. Why not serve an actual salad with the main OR some greens of some kind or change the menu to be more transparent with what is included with each dish? On a positive note the French onion soup was lovely and as mentioned, absolutely no fault at all with the service.

Before we ordered I asked if the entrance door could be closed as I was cold. They shut it, we ordered, then they opened it for the rest of the time! Dinner was dry chicken, a meagre portion of green beans, 2 portions of sauce which had to be emptied with a knife it was so thick but it wasn’t plentiful. We didn’t bother to say anything until the bill came up including a service charge of nearly £10. Then we decided enough was enough. They reduced the £70 bill by £10 and took off the service charge. I had a great time for my 30th Birthday meal I only wanted something small and it was a perfect setting. Our lovely waitress for the evening Faye was incredibly diligent, attentive and deserves respect for her professionalism, regarding the food I would say the steak was quite overpriced for ita size, I would have expected it to have been thicker or accompanied by something extra, it was delicious and cooked well however, I would say the only thing stopping me coming back was the prices of drinks and steaks, everything else on the menu was reasonable and of course the staff were excellent.

Bustling restaurant and great food. Cote still sets the benchmark for brasserie dining in Brighton. Good food in a good atmosphere with attentive service: all good!

Chicken liver parfait and calamari to start, parfait really tasty, calamari tasted frozen. Main’s pork belly which tasted really tough and presented awfully and sea bass which came cold - both were sent back and taken off the bill - thank you

We visited for Mothers’ Day and had an excellent experience. The sharing platters for Mothers’ Day were an excellent idea and meant that everyone could try a bit of the different dishes on offer. The service was fantastic and everyone we spoke to at the restaurant was friendly and courteous. The restaurant is also beautifully laid out with a wonderful atmosphere.

First time visiting here. Firstly this restaurant is right opposite Brighton Dome which we were visiting. This made the restaurant very busy. But we were greeted and seated quickly. The building was very impressive and there was a very good vibe. We were served drinks and our order taken quickly. We had the set menu. Although not vast this represented very good value for money. Really enjoyed the food. We both had the charcuterie board, my wife had chicken and I had steak. All were excellent. The only problem we experienced was that I ordered a side portion of vegetables that didn’t turn up. That aside the service, food and service was excellent and we both had an enjoyable meal.

A nice experience for Mother's Day lunch. Food was plentiful, good quality and cooked/prepared to our liking. What was nice was that we didn't feel rushed, as can sometimes happen on days such as this.

Sad to say the cover over the rear garden has gone thanks to our useless council, but a planning request is in using the petition as proof the roof is needed. The menu is still expansive, from peppers du padron to fillet and giant prawns. Excellent quality and quantity.

We come here at least a couple of times each week. Favourites are the bread, sausage rolls, smoked salmon and scrambled egg croissants, and the ham and cheese baguettes, but everything is great. It's a really great place.

Really warm welcome from a guy who appeared to be the manager or owner. However, he was let down by his staff- one off duty and one on who chatted/shouted across the tables at each other resulting in us knowing more than we need to about their personal life and who annoys who. It was very annoying. The manager guy noticed and did tell them to stop but still felt this let down the experience. Felt like the guy perhaps really wants to make a go of it but he needs to train his staff and not be quite so chummy with them. Another point to note for this guy is that the toilet desperately needs sorting out. Not pleasant. Just clean it properly in the corners. And the 10% discount if you order on the app? Ditch it. You don’t need it and many people would prefer to order with a person. I hope this venture works for you.

Lovely patisserie! Tried a few of the items, particularly lovely the blackberry tart and the chocolate brownie. The brownie is seriously good!
