The Panini Grill in Amber Valley

Don’t bother ordering a large as you literally just end up with half of the cob empty. Sausage roll was hard and burnt. Panini was alright because the cheese was stringy and not in a nice ‘cheese pull’ kinda way. Won’t order again.

Ordered 3 items for lunch one was a jacket potato 3 times the lady had to come to me to ask about the things I wanted on my potato,time took was 25 to get it ready half way home no sausage roll I asked for and gets the jacket potato home no butter no cheese on which I'd already been asked what I wanted will deffo not be returning.

Don't really understand the negative reviews to be honest. I've ordered from here several times and had deliveries (I'm around 3 miles away), collections and just popped in the shop on spec. Prices are reasonable and food is decent. They've always made me aware if there will be a bit of a wait. It's a greasy spoon so your not going to get michelin quality, but for a takeaway breakfast or lunchtime sandwich it's absolutely fine in my opinion. I think there's only once I've been mildly disappointed but even then it wasn't that bad. Not sure if I've just been lucky or if other reviewers have inflated expectations. I know they've previously had issues finding counter staff and drivers but that's an industry thing as a whole at the moment.

Very poor quality of food. Everything gets deep fat fried and tastes like a tub of oil, you can literally smell that grease as you enter the shop, I cam first thing expecting everything to be fresh,chips definitely came from last night , fish fingers burnt so my kids wouldn't touch them. Had a big bacon cob gave me 2 small slices that was covered in black fat from the pan they evidently haven't cleaned , hot dog was them cheap tin sausages, I will never ever go to these again, they are very over priced, after 6.20 just for a panani, jacket potatoe is £5 plain, £1.25 for each added ingredient, I had cheese bean and tuna 8.75 for 1 tiny jacket potatoe ,absolutely shocking, il spead the word and will request an independent inspection gets done at this place, after reading all the reveiws I'm shocked there still in buisness, won't bother ringing for a refund as all they offer is food replacement , I wouldn't even give my dogs there food

The chef needs sacking tastes fowl even a dog wouldn't eat it there's a funny after taste like as if they have cooked it in tabacco leaves or something and the meat looks like they have got it out of a bin in the streets the over cooked it the cheesecake was nice but even after that the taste was still there worst Sunday dinner ever I could of cooked it asleep. Stick with panini's and deserts

You need to clean your grill regularly, it's 9am it should not be this dirty sorry

Don't waste your money tinned hotdog classed a footlong wasn't even close to 3 inch , double burger might aswell be called a cob with burger sprinkles on top wouldn't have minded but it's about 70ps worth of food for £5

Amazing for when you can't be arsed to cook a dinner on a Sunday or any other day. Sweet bacon cobs too

2 hours wait for a full English & a breakfast wrap, food was freezing when it eventually got here. Coffee was freezing. The eggs had all hardened & sausages were mush because they had been sat for so long. Should have read reviews before ordering, do not waste your money.

Cold, uncooked, full of black dirt from the dirty hot plate and sausages were the cheap frozen variety. The worst breakfast I've ever had

Ordered 2 large hearty breakfasts, what arrived was a plate of dissapointment. Bacon swimming in grease with huge amounts of fat, the eggs was discoloured, hash browns undercooked and soggy in the centre but burnt on the outer edges (how Is this even possible), mushrooms again swimming in grease. All these items also smothered in carbon build from what I imagine to be either a poorly cleaned hot plate or pans. Watery beans, did not take a single bite, asked for a full refund at which point we was met with hostility like we was in the wrong. Only good point was a decent size mug for coffee. Judging by the rest of these reviews peolpe would do well to just avoid this establiment all together and save yourselves the hassle.

Absolutely awful service from the boss. Took 2 hours to be delivered when told half a hour. Food cold and milkshake warm and half full. Would only replace food not refund but why would I want a replacement when it’s only going to be the same again Only live 5 min drive away and wanted a treat waste of £20

I ordered from here and waited over 2 hours for our food to be delivered for it to be cold and our drinks to be half full and the chips tasted like rubber i also orderd a sweet bag for my son and they came warmer then the food absolutely disgraceful

I will never use this place again. The large breakfast cobs are really poor with mean portions. Two rashers of bacon, 1 hash brown and 1 piece of black pudding cost £5.40. Don't waste your money.

I have been waiting over n hour n half for my food delivery witch is beyond a joke I am going to trading standerds nearly two hours for a breakfast cob to be delivered what a terrible place to orderd from safe to say I won’t be ordering from there again

Wouldn’t even give it 1 star order r food at 10:30 am it is now 12:10 n the food hasn’t arrived when trying to call the restaurant the staff was rude

Orderd breakfast from this place toast was burnt, breakfast was swimming in grease, realy disappointed, the bacon was all just fat, even the bag that the delivery came in was swimming in grease.

Again, been done by this place. For two weeks we have been successful with our orders, but again items missing but paid for, delivered cold and the bottle of juice wasn’t sealed.

My partner just came home with 2 breakfast. The food looked appalling! under cooked The eggs was a discussing colour on both sides.. I cannot believe ppl can send food out like this. Will not be returning. The coffee was ok and we settled for the toast.. everything else is in the bin

Rip off £5.25 for 3 filling cob - portions of the fillings are what you would put in a small. Disappointed - not worth the money

Popped in for an excellent 'large bacon cob' on Saturday. Great value. Lovely friendly and helpful young lady serving behind the counter. The only thing (affecting the 'atmosphere' score) was that the extractor wasn't working very well and my partner had to sit in the car whilst I finished up. If the physical atmosphere could be freshened up it would have been 5 stars across the board. Will be back. Great value place when visiting / holidaying in the area.

Ordered food didn’t even turn up

Never ordering from here again! My partner ordered 2 bacon and egg Cobs at 10:30am and they didn't get here till over 2 hours later!! (12:40pm) he rang up once after an hour and they told him our cobs were done and waiting for the delivery driver. He rang again an hour after that (2hours after we ordered) to be told the delivery driver picked it up 20 mins ago so our food had been sat out sweating for 40 minutes. When it came the delivery driver was so apologetic and explained it was just him delivering but the food was awful, it was stuck together because it had been sweating in the bag they'd put it in. It was harely warm. The eggs had black stuff on them from beibg cooked in an unclean pan. Paid £10 for 2 cobs that took 2 hours to come and we barely ate.

Really good food at great prices. Lovely little outdoor seating area. Very clean. Fast service. Absolutely fantastic full English breakfast with all the trimmings at a very competitive price. Excellent service. Many thanks. ☆☆☆☆☆

Waited over a hour for my food and to arrive for the chips to be under cooked and the Panini is cold

The food was absolutely horrendous the staff was rude manager was so mean to me and shouted at the staff food was cold,disgusting and just horrible will not be going again.

£4.50 for a non-buttered, badly sliced/dry bread cake and one large slice of folded ham. Asked for salad and salad cream but didn’t read order notes. Also ordered a large BSE which was really soggy with thee amount of grease and the meat is fatty/gristly. £16 in total. Waited 45 mins for this delivery via JustEat, ridiculously disappointing and overpriced.

Absolutely disgraceful order hot food only for it to take 1.5 hours to arrive. And when it finally did arrive the food was all wet as it was sat in a foil/paper bag so it was full of condensation poor service

Collected a Sunday dinner and it was beautiful, highly recommend.

Quite probably the best "English Breakfast Fayre" available in Alfreton, I shall definitely be returning.

If I could leave 0 I definitely would we ordered and food was still not with us over 1 hour later we phoned to see where our order was to be told it was 2 minutes away so we waited another 10 minutes to call again and was given nothing but abuse from the owner of the place I am absolutely discusted as I don't appreciate being spoke to in such a manner and to make matters worse the food was cold when it arrived

First time ordering was cold first time, ordered second time and could tell it was just rushed as the egg whites weren't cooked when it came back. Why does no takeaway in alfreton take pride in their food. Much rather cook my own. Maybe a food delivery bag might help it stay warm as well

Our first time ordering from here but it WILL BE OUR LAST ordered 2 full breakfast for me and my eldest daughter my two other children had bacon and egg cobs and sausage cob half of the order was missing it was cold not one part of the meal was nice at all I knew I should of read the reviews before ordering like I usually do but I was in a rush and majorly hungry so we’re my kids to still be left hungry coz it was horrible and judging from the other reviews I’m NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS

First time in the shop made me feel very welcome the bacon and mushroom cob was the best I've tried for a long time. 🙂

Great prices, staff and food. Service can be a little slow but that can be expected for a small cafe at busy times.

Breakfast cobs are really good but there cold sandwiches are shocking. I had a chicken tikka cold sandwiches what I recieved was poor. No butter on the bread a large cob was sent with six straps of dry chicken tikka. No mayonnaise, no salad, no butter. Not nice at all. I would recommend breakfast but don't have a cold sandwich.

I ordered 3 breakfasts through Just Eat, all without beans, mushrooms and black pudding. After 1 hour 40 minutes the breakfast came completely wrong and cold. I don’t normally write reviews but I’m absolutely disgusted in the service, no apology and the food is below average. This was my first order with these guys and I won’t be ordering again.

Always pop in for a milkshake after going to GJ’s. The shakes are amazing and the staff are wonderful with children. Always make a fuss of them. Highly recommend 👍

Ordered from these once before and was good service so decided to order again, Something went wrong with our next order resulting in our order getting cancelled and us being told we are claiming the money back due to food being missing but we didn't claim anything back. The person on the phone was very rude and very condescending and will no longer deliver to us due to misunderstanding.

We’ve been ordering food throughout lockdown using Uber eats and every single time we’re ordered, they’ve never disappointed us. Their food is always of such high quality and we absolutely love ordering from them.

Poor, let down when the food that arrived was extremely sub standard.

Was OK till they lie about my change then I orded a cob wait 30 mins for it not to be rate says I left with it 15 min ago that don't uncook bacon does it mate 👋
