The Blue Bell Inn in Amber Valley

This pub is simply special, the prices are extremely competitive but that is overshadowed by the service. Very attentive staff, welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and the locals are more than happy to engage in conversation. This really is a gem in the middle of town. Music, TV, sports, it has it all. Well worth popping in and saying hello to Ryan who will make sure you have a pleasant visit.

Dropped in after missing my bus. The place was immaculate, clean, no weird beer vs chemical cleaning products, this toilet had a corpse in it for 10 days... Battle.. Just pure clean air ( how did they achieve this) landlady personable, banter, gave of an air of... ALL. WELCOME.....absoluty void of pretensiousness, trying to be something youre not... Like the good ole days.... Get drunk be respectful or be shown the door... She's friendly but she's sharp... Lovely place... IF ou want food.. Go chippy on way home

This place has long been the worsed pub in Alfreton, so it has to be a good thing that it is closed for refurbishment, and is being turned into a "Sports Bar".

This is just a pub now, they do not serve any meals here now, this is a pity as there are only two other food pubs that could do with the competition.

Advertise food served outside but went in and told do not serve food however young man behind bar very friendly and gave us a good cold drink

Had high expectations as it was recommended but was disappointed the food was perfectly servicable but was not all freshly made, think aunt Bessie might have made their yorkshires. It wasn't bad it just wasn't great. The staff were friendly and the service was fine.

Popped in on a Saturday morning in January 2017 for a coffee and to ask directions and advice on local taxi services. Made to feel very welcome. Nice cozy little high street pub. Steve & Debs took good care of us and even phoned the best local taxi company to get us on our way. We'd come down on the train from Newcastle to Alfreton to buy a car in Pinxton and if we're ever down again this will be the first place we'll come to. Cheers! Ian & Denise xxxxx

Went there last Saturday, a lively real pub, made most welcome by staff and punters alike. Stuck for a cab home but the staff excelled themselves and got us back to our hotel. Landlord and staff couldn't be more helpful, the band was great, get yourselves there a great Saturday night out.

This is mainly a daytime pub which can get very busy. Not much happening at night unless its the weekend. There are plenty of tables outside for nice summer days. The sun shines on there most of the day. New landlord and landlady moved in recently.

We went to the bell inn for a Lunch with our to children before we went on the watercress line. When we got there the staff didn't look very happy and not very welcoming, the waiter just pointed to the table and said over there! After we ordered our food they just bought out children's meal out and we had to wait 10-15 mins for our meal to be told they always sever the children meals before the adults! When I said to the waitress that we come out to eat as a family she just looked and laughed and said that's what we do! But surely we should of been asked if we wanted this! Food its self was great and can't complane but as for the staff I would not go there again

We had a lunch meal there again after returning to the UK to visit family. Our experience this time was not as good, the stew was like water and not a great deal of taste and the lasagne could have been better, but I guess everybody has to have an off day. The staff were very friendly and the interior is still cosy. Next time I think we will try another pub as there is another close by.

We had launch meal there and it was really good. The staff were friendly and cosy interior. The meal was great and would go back there again. If you want a nice pub and a quite beer, give this pub ago.
