Visited today and my husband had a fall. The staff were so helpful and caring, so much appreciated. Really friendly customers as well

Great little find. Parked up for the night round the corner. Good beer at an excellent price.

Brilliant now it's been converted to a casual sports bar.8 large tv screens showing various sports.Dart board & pool table available to play.Beverages at very moderate prices.Seating area/beer garden to side of building and regular entertainment on Friday evening too.Karaoke has been moved to Thursdays evenings (subject to change).Local & long distance travel connections available nearby & plenty of take aways to choose from also.

Nice little pub staff are friendly enough and the beer is cheap. Can feel a little claustrophobic if you have to stand at the bar due to poor weather but other than that brilliant little bar

A warm and friendly pub. Doesn't serve food as just a traditional pub. Has a jukebox, pool table and entertainment on a weekend. Also shows live football matches. Great pub in the heart of Alfreton.

If you want a decent pub then go someone else , Craft union sort yourself out and get decent managers and them who you have , Rude landlord and landlady who can't crack a smile .They don't know how to run a pub .They have lost the best DJ around and he's now across the road at the king alfred.

How anyone can find fault in the place is beyond me, the service is impecable, the atmosphere is friendly, helpful and attentive. The prices are just added extras really! You might have the best prices in your business/industry/area but if you don't back it up with service, I'm afraid you fall short. This pub is not only a must, you can easily reccomend it to friends and family, a nice welcoming vibe from staff and locals. Ryan is a brilliant professional and makes sure everyone is made to feel welcome. Well done for an exellent job!

This pub is simply special, the prices are extremely competitive but that is overshadowed by the service. Very attentive staff, welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and the locals are more than happy to engage in conversation. This really is a gem in the middle of town. Music, TV, sports, it has it all. Well worth popping in and saying hello to Ryan who will make sure you have a pleasant visit.

Well what can I say about the bluebell pub !!!...... Talk about running a bar into the ground !!!... Bluebell pub used to be a nice, decent, welcoming place, well well well not now !!!.... It's not a place I'll be visiting anytime soon !... I'm just very very very disappointed, not a nice pub to go in anymore !!!.... What a shame !...

Called in for a drink before going to a xmas party very lively place and good atmosphere and a nice drink staff very pleasant.

When visiting alfreton on Tuesday night decided to pop in for drinks overall place is not to bad a tipcal town pub .prices very good but what Knock me and my colleague backwards was thee very strong smell of cigarettes and tobacco it was to much and the other thing was sticky tables .

Dropped in after missing my bus. The place was immaculate, clean, no weird beer vs chemical cleaning products, this toilet had a corpse in it for 10 days... Battle.. Just pure clean air ( how did they achieve this) landlady personable, banter, gave of an air of... ALL. WELCOME.....absoluty void of pretensiousness, trying to be something youre not... Like the good ole days.... Get drunk be respectful or be shown the door... She's friendly but she's sharp... Lovely place... IF ou want food.. Go chippy on way home

This place has long been the worsed pub in Alfreton, so it has to be a good thing that it is closed for refurbishment, and is being turned into a "Sports Bar".

landlady is a police grass and the service is very average at the bar. drunk customers looking for a fight if you don't belong.

Not much atmosphere when I went and the decor looks a bit dated. Staff were friendly. I have only been in twice and on the second occasion sat out the back in the beer garden where the place was soon overrun with loud shirtless kids in their cars smoking weed and the place soon became a little uncomfortable to be in so will not be going in again.

It is a kind of man's pub but great staff and a nice clientele. We will definitely be back

This is just a pub now, they do not serve any meals here now, this is a pity as there are only two other food pubs that could do with the competition.

Not as good as it used to be when Steve had it and nutcase Sheila behind bar

Advertise food served outside but went in and told do not serve food however young man behind bar very friendly and gave us a good cold drink

Had high expectations as it was recommended but was disappointed the food was perfectly servicable but was not all freshly made, think aunt Bessie might have made their yorkshires. It wasn't bad it just wasn't great. The staff were friendly and the service was fine.

Popped in on a Saturday morning in January 2017 for a coffee and to ask directions and advice on local taxi services. Made to feel very welcome. Nice cozy little high street pub. Steve & Debs took good care of us and even phoned the best local taxi company to get us on our way. We'd come down on the train from Newcastle to Alfreton to buy a car in Pinxton and if we're ever down again this will be the first place we'll come to. Cheers! Ian & Denise xxxxx

Went there last Saturday, a lively real pub, made most welcome by staff and punters alike. Stuck for a cab home but the staff excelled themselves and got us back to our hotel. Landlord and staff couldn't be more helpful, the band was great, get yourselves there a great Saturday night out.

This is mainly a daytime pub which can get very busy. Not much happening at night unless its the weekend. There are plenty of tables outside for nice summer days. The sun shines on there most of the day. New landlord and landlady moved in recently.

We went to the bell inn for a Lunch with our to children before we went on the watercress line. When we got there the staff didn't look very happy and not very welcoming, the waiter just pointed to the table and said over there! After we ordered our food they just bought out children's meal out and we had to wait 10-15 mins for our meal to be told they always sever the children meals before the adults! When I said to the waitress that we come out to eat as a family she just looked and laughed and said that's what we do! But surely we should of been asked if we wanted this! Food its self was great and can't complane but as for the staff I would not go there again
