The Bank At Belper in Amber Valley

Don't be fooled by the dog friendly tag on the board at the front. With the minimum of at least water for a dog unfortunately there is no sign of. Coupled with sharp flint on the floor means any dog not comfortable. Call me picky but Bank Holiday would see most of the pumps available. Sadly the opposite applies here. Most pumps have a sad glass covering them indicating "that ones off". Could be really nice with a little thought. Better pubs closer that are actually dog friendly & you stand a chance of actually drinking a beer that you want.

Nice pub, clean and well laid out.

The only thing that stopped it getting 5, was the trip to the toilets and the fact that there's only one toilet for each sex. Not good enough I'm afraid. Surely this can be rectified. Definitely recommend for the beers and atmosphere though.

Called into the Bank whilst visiting Belper, we were greeted by the friendly team. We both had a coffee which was lovely. They had plenty of seating inside but we actually sat out on the front and people watched.

Had a fabulous time at the 80’s disco! Such fun, had a dance! Not many places you can do this nowadays The disk jockey was very pleasant and even played our requests!

We had a great afternoon here on New Year’s Eve. The Bank had a DJ and it was busy with a great atmosphere. Our children were welcome and the management and staff were really accommodating. Having a child friendly environment and event on in the afternoon meant we were able to go out and enjoy celebrating NYE as a family.

Couldn’t thank the Bank enough for hosting the most incredible baby shower! We’ve been to the bank before for drinks and food and it was amazing but their event organisation was in a complete other league! The owners organised every single detail based on the brief we gave them and wow, the whole event exceeded our expectations! The food grazing tables were absolutely incredible! Thank you so much and can’t wait to come and visit again!

It was better than I expected. Thought it was going to be all lads lads lads getting leary on the lagers. But it was nice and civilised. It's clean smart, just lacks the kind of beers and decor I like. I like a real ale or a craft beer, and the choices are limited to camden IPA and the beaver town offerings. So I can't give anymore stars, but that's just because it's not my taste.

Avoid this place at all costs!!! Disgusting awful owner!! Treating people how he does is absolutely unacceptable!

I quite like a occasional drink in here , it's a good place to sit and chat with friends and have a quieter atmosphere to relax with them. Whenever I have visited this bar it's never been overly busy but that suits me as I'm not overtly social and I do suffer from hypersensitivity in busier environments.the staff are knowledgeable and friendly , there is a nice selection of premium lagers and ciders available here and the garden is very nice and private .I was disappointed recently to learn that they are no longer serving food ..although the staff did inform me it may reappear at some point .

We booked our staff Christmas meal here to enjoy on the last day of work before Christmas. We booked weeks in advance and arrived to be told they no longer do food!!! No communication or warning. We struggled to get anywhere else as being the Friday night before Christmas, everywhere was booked up! We ended up having to get a taxi away from Belper where we eventually managed to find a restaurant so fortunately our night wasn’t completely ruined despite your best attempts!! Hope you all get coal in your stockings!

Food was fab. Love the whole bank vault, and there might be future events happening there. It is a bit of a struggle to walk outside on the pebbles, and the benches weren't very comfortable but amazing art on the walls. Train tracks below.

The burgers are excellent and 2 for 1 on Thursdays are great value!

Avoid like the plague or just dont pay like the Owners here. Still owed after promises and excuses for meat bills 1121.11 from 17th April to be paid.

Lovely food, friendly service and brilliant environment.

2nd time of dining here at lunchtime. Food delicious and well presented. Staff friendly. Highly recommend the Tofu dish, Falafel burger, salmon and pork. The Choc orange brownie is fabulous and a generous portion. Food prices sensible too.

Popped in for a drink. Friendly staff. Even found us 2 seats, very kind. Good prices. Great decor. We reminisced about our teen years when it was still a bank. Great night, thank you.

First pint tasted badly off, smelt almost rotten. Was given a replacement of a different beer and still, was cloudy when it shouldn't have been and tasted off. All this for one of the most expensive pints I'd ever bought.

The worst place to visit in belper. The staff and management are damn rude. Stinking attitudes. Actually disgusting. Watched the manager scratch her backside and continue to pick up food. Don’t waste your time or money because it’s a rip off and they shouldn’t be working in hospitality. I’ll take my money to the other great bars in town. Hope you close down

Rude staff made us feel very unwelcome. It was 10.30pm and we had just purchased drinks then as we took our seats they turned off the music, switched the main lights on and then decided to clean up around us. What a joke!!

Clearly just brilliant, kind hearted business owners that care for everyone and just want to make sure all are totally happy. As an Irish man the draft is definitely the good stuff and the place it's self had such a lovely atmosphere and feels so comfortable all round. Fresh place, fresh ideas and hearts on there sleeves now that a place and business I'd always want to revisit and I will 100%. Thank you

Very Rude manager/owner! Over priced for the quality of the produce and portions. There are some fantastic places to eat/drink in Belper who deserve the support. I could say more but the manager/owner knows how I feel about my experience, they just don’t care in my opinion.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at The Bank in their upstairs function room. We had an amazing evening made special by the exceptional management and service staff. The atmosphere was excellent, the room was quality and the attention provided by the staff (management and service) just made the evening so special. I could not recommend this place highly enough. Thanks for making my 40th so special.

Nice place well renovated of a former bank

Disappointed to say the least. No cider on draft, no lime for the Corona, no gluten free bread crumbs, the tandoori chicken kebab was literally a chicken breast with a sprinkle of tandoori seasoning. Don’t waste your money.

Beautiful building immaculate design attention to detail. Toilets are to die for. Food was out of this world. Great range of drinks on offer. Happy friendly staff with nice vibe. Will definitely come back this is worth many visits.

I have been here on a Sunday, first me and my friend came in for a drink and the service was lovely. The outside of the pub has incorporated the old fashion bank style as well as the pub design. Must admit I love the outside and the inside of the building. The only downside would be the outside area (garden) due to uneven surface, but you cannot have it all perfect. Other than that I absolutely loved the style all over the pub. Having a stoma bag it is important that toilet is acceptable to be able to change a stoma bag. I cannot thank enough and probably will be slightly bias to say I loved the toilet. It was more than enough to be able to change the bag without any discomfort. I would highly recommend this place to any disabled person. The toilet was clean, the style was lovely and the space was amazing. You cannot ever please anyone, but surely please my needs at the time. I had another drink (coctail) on a way back home whilst waiting for the bus. Again, amazing, polite service. The drink was lovely too. Cannot recommend enough. I cannot rate the food as I have not been ordering any food yet.

went here sunday 14th may to try the place after my wife suggested it it was a nice day so sat outside the place is dog friendly BUT no draught ales only bottles which were chilled most ales should be served at room temp . We looked at the menu which was simple but nice so booked a table for wed 17th may as it was my wifes birthday. Turned up wednesday only to find the place shut so not happy as we had invited friends as a suprise for my wife

Our new favourite restaurant & bar. Me and my partner visited last week and enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday dinner with some friends. I’m so glad we did, the Sunday dinner is gorgeous & the price is unbelievable for the quality and service you receive. The cocktails are perfect not too strong & not too weak. We will be back to try your sharing platters soon.

Great lunch, fabulous portions and the most delicious coleslaw ever

First time I've visited and it was great. As good as anywhere else I've been. We had 3 Sunday dinners (all had roast beef!) one starter (pate) and 3 puddings (vanilla cheesecake x 2 and chocolate brownie). They also brought out some crusty bread and butter for the 2 of us not having starters which was lovely. Everything about it was fantastic, the venue and atmosphere was great, the food wonderful and the service quick and friendly. There's a good choice of drinks as well, I had some bottled craft beer and there is a good choice of lagers on draft with spirits, wine and cocktails available. Prices were good as well @ £14.95 + for Sunday dinner and you get loads, £5.95 for desert and again they are big portions Would highly recommend it to anyone and I can't wait to go back.

We happened to stumble upon this place when in Belper and hungry for a late lunch and a pint, very welcoming service, really tasty beers on tap and the best salmon fillet main I've had for a number of years, salmon with prawns and mussels in a very tasty sauce with triple cooked potatoes, if we lived closer we'd be happy! Great little place, good drinks, even better food. We always get a good welcome here, dogs are very welcome too (the staff always provide treats) We've just tried the food for the first time since they've started serving food and it was incredible! I had the pork belly and my partner had the vegetable tart (which was obviously all cooked from fresh to serve! No frozen food here!) Fantastic. Lovely little sun trap out the back too if you fancy eating outside ☀️

Poor unenthusiastic service from the minute we walked in. Two slow staff serving a single group, while 3 members of staff appeared to just stand around while the queue at the bar continued build up. Really shabby idea of service, left before we got a drink.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time. Really good food, staff really friendly and they cater for kids. Lots of toilets now too!! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing food 2 days into their kitchen opening, the king prawns were incredible. My wife also had a few of their feature cocktails which she loved. I'll be sure visiting very soon

Beers were on the expensive side,but a nice pub.Need to sort out the one toilet for all problem, coz no-one likes to queue for a wee!

Someone has made a great job of refurbing this place into a new bar. Only one drawback there seems to be only one single unisex toilet ??.

Great new pub in the town, great staff, very welcoming atmosphere, deffo visit again.

Been a couple of times now since they opened and every time it's been ridiculously cold in there and we we have been told " 2 weeks till more toilets" I don't mind unisex toilets but you certainly need more than 1 Especially on Saturday night the staff are doing a grand job but we were charged different prices on the same night for the same drinks. I hope it improves but we won't be rushing back just yet.

Staff was nice, but the place was cold and smelt like its got a serious damp problem, only one unisex toilet which to put it politely had a lot of "hair's" all over the floor 🤢 ! Drinks was on the expensive side, sorry but I dont think I will be returning. Monk bar up the road...lovely 🍸😊
