Great service, superb food, Lisa was amazing. She accommodated our large group really well and with smile. Food was great and came out all together. Would highly recommend.

I had the Christmas dinner. The meal was good, but detail was missing. The roast potatoes were undercooked, as were the Brussels and the pigs in blankets were disgusting. The sausages were ok, the bacon was rancid. The rest was brilliant.

Was served by Grace. Very friendly staff and quick and efficient service. Lovely drinks, would highly recommend this place. Thank you

Honestly these guys are the best, we went for lunch last week and the Christmas decor is just lovely, fresh fire, amazing food and always lovely staff, huge thanks to Lisa and everyone for a great time.

We had the Festive Menu. I had the turkey and my wife had the root vegetable wellington. Both were excellent.A reasonable amount, beautifully prepared and presented, and delivered in reasonable time at a good temperature.The two puddings, Christmas pudding and fruit crumble, were also excellent, although some restraint was needed to avoid burning your mouth!

Great atmosphere, fantastic Turkey dinner, friendly staff. Absolutely loved it, so enjoyed the 2 course's. Wish I took pictures but it was that nice I didn't get chance lol!!

The drinks were good (although the Landlord beer was very pricey @ £5 40 a pint). The food for all four of us was excellent- plentiful, piping hot and delicious. The service from the waitresses was very good even though they were under huge pressure due to the number of customers.

Food when it finally came was awful, Brussels very hard, stuffing just not edible at all, service very slow had to wait ages between courses. Tried charging for 1 extra turkey we hadn't had , computer error they said,plus big sur charge on top which we didnt pay, place started to get very cold where we sat, fire exit doors was stuffed with tissue to try stop the draught. Needless to day we won't be visiting again.

Very disappointed. Food portions poor. Vegetables were cold. Maybe £1.50 worth of food on the plate for £16. Meals were not served together. Plates not cleared after each course.

We had a great Sunday dinner today at the rose and crown. Turkey was cooked to perfection and chocolate brownie was delicious! Thank you to Casey for looking after us. We will be back soon!

Pre-Christmas meet-up for 4. Greeted as we entered which was a lovely surprise. Servers were Jennifer & Jess who were courteous, friendly and efficient. The roast dinner was great and put together well and the chef deserves praise. 🙏

Very understaffed so very uncomfortable to watch them rush around , booked but the table was not cleared ready , no cutlery & napkins when the main came out & we had to clear our own plates onto a uncleaned table next to us , fortunately just in time for when our desserts came , once again had to ask 4 cutlery & my coffee that that supposed to come with my mini dessert, no biscuit & one full sugar lump & a few bits !! Which was like they had to use what they had left. Food was bland & average we were expecting better, we have had really nice food there before , but won’t be visiting again which is a shame as it has a really nice country pub feel, but I think its that that attracts people rather then the service & food in my opinion. Positive feedback the lady behind the bar was rushing round but was very polite , friendly & kept smiling .

Lovely experience at the rose n crown, Lucy our server did an exceptional job and made sure we were always fine. Food was amazing as usual, grandad had his fish and chips and I had my margarita pizza, delicious 😋😋

Not a place for value but decent quality .Being picky I know but had ribeye steak with cold chips...but didn't say anything.Only other issue was the rustic dining tables have slots in them full of food. !! Having said that the staff were very efficient and polite.

Went with grown up kids and grandkids, food came promptly and was very tasty. Good menu selection of food and drink. Excellent service from the lovely Lisa. Would definitely go again.

The dining room was cold on arrival so we moved to the bar which was only slightly warmer, but things did improve. The staff were very attentive and we were well looked after. The food was very good and well presented with a good choice.

Great food, you won’t leave hungry! Walked in and managed to get a Sunday Roast without booking ahead. We had the pork belly roast and the pie of the day (which was steak) and as you can see it was a huge portion! They let the dog sit with us in the bar area too which is really appreciated. Staff were all friendly and helpful despite it being busy.

Last visit 20years ago ..so recommendation tonight without granddaughters. Feeling very tired .but ended up visiting this pub .Date night ..lol ..absolutely amazing fresh cooked food . Hubby had a signature burger ,fries .burger plus looked like shredded beef ..I had red wine lasagne garlic ciabata bread,salad with an amazing dressing . Well done chef .so tasty ..thank you to the staff .such a lovely relaxing evening .definitely be back .. Ps 2nd visit .haddock fishcakes were amazing.

Popped in for a Monday afternoon treat and was very impressed all round. Molly was polite and courteous and Dan was quick and efficient at the bar and delivering meals to tables. We both had fish and said it was possibly the best fish we have had for a long time. Generous portions, excellent chips and mushy peas. We will be returning soon.

Chose the Rose and Crown for my birthday meal and it was absolutely amazing. Both the waitress and the gentleman on the bar were exceptional and made us feel incredibly welcome. Food was huge - amazing portion sizes - and absolutely delicious. We had a discount voucher and, whereas some venues make you feel like an inconvenience or embarrassment in using a voucher, staff at the Rose and Crown were amazing and wished me the happiest of birthdays. Beautifully clean and classy decor, lovely atmosphere … would highly recommend. Thank you to the team.

It was my second visit, this time we tried the Sunday roast!!! Trio was amazing !!!!(especially belly and cracking) The children's portions were so big that I had to finish them after my children! We didn't had space for dessert, im sure we will try next time! I highly recommend this place. THANK YOU

Value for money on the lunch menu is fantastic. Although not the cheapest, the quality was brilliant.. added to which the portion sizes were spot on. I find much of the time that lunch time specials sometimes scrimp on quality and/or portion size. Something not an issue with the Rose and Crown lunch menu. We were served by both Lucy and Jenna who were great. Great fast service without feeling rushed. Would deffo recommend the Rose and Crown for a great weekday lunch.

Popped in for lunch. Seems to have changed hands since our last visit and all the better for it. The interior is pleasant and some of the site's history is exposed for all to see. Service was good and attentive throughout. Food was what we ordered, cooked well and tasted good. Will definitely consider returning.

We recently had an amazing experience here, largely thanks to two fantastic waitresses, Lucy and Lisa. From the moment we arrived, their friendly and attentive service made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious—clearly something special, with every dish prepared to perfection. What truly stood out, though, was how Lucy and Lisa went above and beyond for my sister’s birthday. They surprised her with a custom pudding, which made the celebration even more memorable. Their thoughtful touch and excellent service really made our night. Highly recommend this place, and a big shoutout to Lucy and Lisa for making it so great!

I have visited this pub twice at Lunchtime & it gets very busy. An old style village pub,open fire Lovely Food friendly staff & Good Service.No Frills & fancy Furniture just a good pitstop.

Plenty of dining space, very busy during our visit but the staff / manager were attentive very efficient, one minor item missed from one of the plates but rectified quickly, great experience with reasonable prices. Called in for brunch (29/09/24), excellent service and the food was excellent quality and quantity with very competitive prices. 10/10 in every aspect.

The food quality was good, it’s that some items of food were cold, eg. Chips, onion rings and the pot of burger sauce looked old.

Attended for a late lunch, greeted by friendly staff. All of site is wheelchair accessible. Building is clearly maintained and clean to a high standard. Found toilets to be very clean. Ordered lunch, Signature Burger, Fish Finger Sandwich and drinks. Both food and drink were served to the table quickly. The burger was quite big, topped with a pickle and onion rings. Tasted lovely! The Fish Finger Sandwich was nice too. My only criticism would be that I would have liked more salad greens. Both dishes came with a small portion of fries. Creme Brulee and an Amaretto coffee was ordered for dessert. Offered a choice of coffee styles when ordering. Both tasted nice, the brulee could have done with more sugar on top as it was extremely thin, almost non existent in some places. Overall, extremely impressed, both with food and service. 5* Definitely a place to return. 🙃

Absolutely terrible service was terrible food was cold , I had a starter used my knife , fork which was for the mains , they came with the mains and hadn't cleared the starter plate away so then had to wait for some cutterly meal was going cold the main come vegetables were over cooked potatoes rock hard just terrible won't be going back it wasn't worth the money

The only two people in the pub at 1.30pm Given main menu expensive for lunch time. Ordered starter and dessert food nice and enough for lunch time. But it wasn't until we left the pub my friend noticed on the bar laying horizontal a lunch time menu and upon leaving we read facing the exit a board outside offering specials at lunch time. The other side of the board facing you and carpark entrance was just an advertisement for beer 🍺. I found this very frustrating when only given a main expensive 🫰 meal . We won't be returning.

Tried booking a table by calling. Did not get through to anyone, only a robot. Was promptly told, after a long wait, I could only book for a maximum of 0 people. Embarrassing service.

We had a lovely lunch over the Bank Holiday, Lisa was very lovely and gave me a replacement beer when I spilt mine. The pie of the day was a lovely steak puff pastry and was delicious, the deserts and drinks were also great.

The Rose & Crown has been one of our regular stop off points for around 6 or 7 years either after work on a friday or returning from shopping in Derby on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately we feel it has lost a lot of atmosphere recently and just does not have the same feel about it. Drinks prices have always been on the high side for this area but last week a large glass of white wine and a pint of beer was £15.00, yes £15.00 !!

We came here for Sunday dinner in the evening. The food was delicious, cooked by Krystof and Scott. Quick service by lovely attentive staff too. We'd definitely recommend.

Good gluten free choices. For took a little while but excellent when it arrived. Friendly, efficient staff.

Overall for a casual night out I found it very overpriced for mediocre food. Was not asked if I wanted to pay the extra 20% so it was a very expensive evening. I do tip but feel that it should be on my experience. Had to wait quiet a while between main and pudding even though the restaurant was quite empty. I've given a generous 3 rating

Disappointed on our last visit as several main meal choices unavailable so my friend and I decided to have starters and pudding instead but hey ho decided to try the Rose and Crown again. Welcome ok and waitress very nice, not sure if she was new to the job but on having some queries regarding the menu,, give her , her do , went to find the answers for us . Service of food was prompt , but to be honest there were not many diners in the place on this Saturday night . My pie and veg was nice , could have been warmer and had to ask if there was any gravy , which was bought to my table . However , my friends meal of rice and chicken , again not particularly hot with the rice being in thick glutenous lumps not a particularly pleasing presentation.The waitress did then ask if we d like more drinks, but declined at the time as still had some left . She came back half an hour later , my friend asked for a coffee and was told everything was shutdown and they were closing I said sorry I thought you were open until 11pm , to which I was told it s a restaurant not a pub. So after re arranging taxi times, left at 10.25 , was told we could wait inside till taxi came but quite honestly just felt unwelcome. My point is why did she not inform us when she came previously to ask if we wanted more drinks that they were closing early or did I read it wrong on the website stating opening hours were till 11 pm . Anyway, again not a brilliant experience of the Rose and Crown .

We both had a pleasant Sunday at the Rose & Crown. Good attention to detail. The staff were pleasant and attentive. I Recommend the lamb shank. Book if you can.

We visited on a Sunday for a roast dinner. We had the trio of meats. It was spot on. I couldn't fault any of it. We were welcomed with our 2 dogs, there was some glass on the floor and once we point it out to a member of staff she got the bush out and give a half hearted one sweep and that was it

I came to Nottingham to see some firms and decided to pop in for some food whilst looking around Nottingham, friends recommended the restaurant and it was absolutely amazing, definitely recommend for anyone looking for some great service and food! Very welcoming and food delicious
