The Owl Tea Rooms in North Norfolk

The breakfast was delicious! We had the mushroom medley and the full English, both were great and I’m sure we will be back again to enjoy them again! The staff were lovey and friendly and very attentive. The perfect birthday breakfast treat

I was very disappointed by my experience at the Owl Tea Rooms when we visited back in August. I found the food extremely over priced for what was being given, especially compared to other local restaurants that offer similar menus. There were a huge number of staff who looked extremely rushed off their feet which was surprising considering how small the restaurant itself is. In addition to this the food felt reheated and bland. But I didn’t feel comfortable enough to express this to staff on the day. The most surprising and upsetting thing we witnessed was the way the owner spoke to members of the waiting and kitchen staff. I only knew she was the owner as a lady on another table has been previously and informed me. She was extremely rude to her staff and if I was them I would tell her where to go. Overall I was extremely disappointed by our experience and will be heading elsewhere in the future. We were told Byfords are an excellent alternative. I hope people find this useful.

Great spot lovely staff and fantastic service. Coffee was lovely and food is tasty and well priced for the area. Will definitely return!

Visited Holt went to The Owl Tearoom with our Poodle. Really nice fully covered area outside which is dog friendly. Staff really nice and helpful Had excellent coffee and cake. A step back in time with quality service(even water provided at table) Highly recommend

We came in for breakfast this morning and chose to sit in their lovely garden. Coffee and chai latte were both brilliant. We decided to go for the mushroom medley and scrambled eggs on toast with added chorizo (both with homemade bread), we’d highly recommend. Staff were lovely and overall it was a great experience, look forward to going again.

Relaxed, friendly and with wonderful food - great choices! Comfy place for a private chat too! A real joy for breakfast or brunch/lunch or fab takeaways. It's a favourite haunt of my friends and I! PS I ordered 3 divine quiches for my birthday party at home and EVERYONE ADORED THEM!

We have visited The Owl tea rooms several times and it never fails to deliver. The venue,staff and the food are out of this world especially the breakfast,but also their cakes,sausage rolls and tarts sweet and savoury are wonderful. The whole experience makes me want to revisit tomorrow!, Also I forgot to mention the delightful courtyard

We had three great experiences here over a two-day period. On day one, we were looking for something savoury to make up a packed lunch & plumped for a couple of slices of their crab quiche. Absolutely heavenly does it a disservice. Deep, moist & replete with the crab for which the North Norfolk coast is so famous, it made for a 10/10 picnic. A couple of days later, we headed back there for breakfast & enjoyed some of the best scrambled egg on toast. Lunch was fabulous: vegetarian & meat chilli & rice, more of the crab quiche, homemade houmous on toast, all beautifully cooked. On a warm day, their garden is delightful. Quite a find; do go!

This is the place for the best sandwiches, cakes and breakfast in Holt. Claudia's baked goods are incredible and her staff try to accommodate a varied clientele with warmth and professionalism. I have brought many family and friends to Owl - it has become a go to place for them too. The garden is particularly lovely if it's warm enough to be outside. Recently enjoyed their afternoon tea in bamboo stacked trays and that was all delicious too. You may have to book in advance and or wait for a table but it will be worth it.

I visited for a snack and settled for one of their brownies, possibly the best brownie i have ever eaten, very friendly staff and all round a great experience.

Delightful tea room that does breakfast and lunch and the most amazing cakes that you can also take home. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We never go anywhere else for breakfast, lunch or tea when visiting Holt.

Popped in for lunch, once again great, friendly service. Food nice and hot and so tasty. We had the frittata and salad and a Croque Monsiour. Both were really good. Would definitely recommend going there. Lots of varied choice on the menu

We visited this cafe while staying locally. We had just been on a boat trip and needed to warm up on a wet day. Obviously a popular cafe as we had to wait approximately 5 minutes to be seated..but we would have waited longer as the food and service were exceptional. There was fresh water on the table when we were seated, and this was topped up during our visit. Our order was taken quickly, 2 bacon sandwiches and pecan pie (option to have warmed and with either cream , ice-cream or custard..we both chose cream). I had house tea while my husband had a coffee, there was lots of specialty tea to choose from, as well as milkshakes, hot chocolate and cold drinks. The cake selection available was huge, hard to know what to pick as everything was so fresh and looked delicious. Gluten free and vegan choices were available too. They also had a wide variety of savoury bakes and pastries too. Our drinks arrived, and the food not long after, let me tell you..the bacon sandwich was probably the best I have ever eaten. Cloud soft fluffy bread and thick cut delicious treacle cured bacon..we devoured them quickly, and these were followed by the pecan pie. Again, this was so mouthwateringly tasty...mine was warmed with cream, the crunchy pecans, buttery pastry and sweet filling were amazing. So good, I brought another piece from the takeaway counter for another day. Not to be missed if you are in the area, we will definitely be back.

Food was very overpriced. A bacon sandwich with 2 dry rashers of bacon in it - £6.50. However the waitress, Shirley, was so great - really knows how to give great customer service!! She deserves a medal.

They were able to accommodate our large party and dog at one of their outdoor tables. Their delicious hot food and drinks were exactly what we needed on a grey and drizzly day, especially as they had the largest and most diverse Gluten Free options of any restaurant or cafe we’ve been to on this holiday which the Coeliac member of our party greatly appreciated.

Good friendly service. Excellent food. I had a bowl of beef chilli eith rice. My wife had crab quiche. Having seen their jam doughnuts I could not resist trying one. Doughy it was and unctuous. Will be a regular and not just for coffee!

Had a rocky road which was delicious and also had a nice salted caramel thickshake which is my new fave thickshake from now on. Overall experience was amazing and staff was really nice and friendly.

This tearoom was recommended by a local whose cottage we rented whilst visiting the area. Lovely food and ambience however the lady there who does the coffee was so angry and bad tempered about everything it really put us off going again which was a shame. She was ringing a bell for the servers to fetch the coffee and it was really angry ringing. Everyone in the queue just looked scared. I think she just maybe needs a holiday but honestly I’d rather wait longer in the queue than have a shorter wait time and a nervous stomach ache.

We have been to the towel tea rooms twice while in holt and me and my family all enjoyed our snacks. The staff were kind and helpful and the food was good. If you are in the area I highly recommend visiting.
