We eat here whenever in Tetbury. Excellent food, quick service and great choice. Staff usually good but today they were great. Quick, attentive and couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Pizza's very good and very light base so although large you don't feel stuffed. Other food we saw come out including the specials looked very good. Butcombe Ale excellent

Had lunch here with a friend, I ordered poached eggs on toast, on the menu it was supposed to come avocado, but as I don't like it I asked for just the poached eggs on toast. Stupidity to my politeness I didn't ask for a discount on the price of £10.95 and was not offered one. What went wrong. First of my friends lunch came out and I had to wait at least five minutes for mine to appear. When it did it was 2 poached eggs on one slice of toast! When the man collected my plates I told him that I thought that there should of bee at least 2 pieces of toast, but he was really only interested in if I thought it tasted nice. I know Tetbury can be expensive, but that lunch was ridiculous. I won't be going there again.

Sunday evening meal with family and an honest fair review. Staff were quick to sort us out with a table and drinks. Menu choices for a Sunday evening was extensive and my meat feast pizza was very tasty and at a fair price. Other meals included the pork belly on a bed of mash which was the best we've had in age's. All in all the food and service here was outstanding made all the more special and personal by our server Juergen F. who was very funny, helpful and professional all at the same time. Well done.

3 of us met in Tetbury, being midway between where we live. We chose to dine on a day when the fryers were not frying (!), which resulted in a delay to our meal, and having to change an order. The problem was clearly communicated, a solution found and the food was excellent. Staff were very friendly although (understandably) a little harassed. This did not spoil our experience. I always say that a restuarant stands or falls with how it manages the occasional crisis. Staff at the Ormond get 5 stars for their management on this day . Overall, I wish I lived closer, so I could visit again soon. Well done to all the team

Stayed here for a wedding at The Tythe Barn. Was so pleased with the hotel...really nice and the staff are fabulous cannot do enough for you. The room was lovely. The food was excellent. We were lucky enough that the wedding we attended had a 2nd function at The Ormond held in the garden area which was very good.. all the guest were very impressed with the buffet served and again the excellent service of the staff.

I am amazed at the recent poor reviews here. Friend and I had an exceptionally good lunch, beautifully cooked. Ok I had to get my own knife and fork but at the price and quality they serve, I have no problem with that. I would really recommend this place. Lovely outside area away from the noise and fumes of the main road

Awful. Horrible manager who refused us a refund despite providing us with a room with a value of at least £100/night than what we were paying. Luckily, we were only 2, but to think they can safely expect to fit a whole family in there is ridiculous. When we brought this up to the staff, we were sent the manager (i.e "lovely gentleman"- one can only assume she was being sarcastic) who met our query with indifference and then arrogance. We didn't get our room, nor our refund. Never again

The location and venue are great but terrible service. My Pinot Grigio was sour and undrinkable. My companions tasted it and all thought the same. Hubby took it back and they refused to believe him and said nobody else had complained (love, if you had just opened a new bottle, as you stated, nobody could complain!). Lost AUD20 without as much as a “can we get you something else”. Went to the Snooty Fox and had a fantastic evening. Go there instead.

Stopped her for lunch on Saturday. A shambles from beginning to end. Took ages for the very incompetent staff to take an order and then we were waiting nearly 40 minutes for food and we were only having sandwiches. Food was just awful and we couldn't leave quick enough! Shame as it's in a great location and has a lovely beer garden

The bill included a hidden service charge without any mention. The service was not good at all. It started off with a dirty cup. When mentioned to the lady serving it was yanked from my wife's hand. 10 mins later still no cup. Paid £75 for our meals and feel completely ripped off. A defy NO GO.

Not sure if we were simply unlucky but my husband and I stopped off for lunch when visiting Tetbury. We both had ciabattas. My brie, bacon and cranberry was made with such fatty bacon that I had to throw half of it away - floppy white fat that comes from microwaved bacon. The brie and cranberry was almost non existent too. The baguette itself was also burnt on the ends. My husband had the same issue with his chicken and bacon ciabatta. Coupled with this a Diet Coke was £4.00 (not much less than a pint of ale) and the poor quality ciabattas were £10.50 (served with a few crisps) which felt well above average especially owing to the quality. The building itself was a nice old fashioned pub and would be nice to stop off at but I would recommend drinks only.

Dinner is fantastic here, pizzas and burgers are to die for. Be aware that the restaurant is more a pub than a restaurant. Reception is not always occupied and the bar staff functions as reception too. This does take away from the hotel experience. We had room 21, which is one of the nicer rooms. We missed a bath, which would have been really nice, the bathroom itself was clean, however the shower looked a bit aged. The room was spacious with 2 doors opening to the outside/beer garden. There were no guests in the garden when we stayed there, but it would be stealing from your privacy if there where people. They would be looking right into your room. Overall a nice hotel in Tetbury, but i rank it ranks as satisfactory and no better.

Disappointing visit. The table allocated for a family of six plus a dog was not ideal. Another table was allocated and set up quickly by a friendly service team. Five of the party ordered chicken Milanese the food we received was poor. Chicken was dry, potatoes greasy. My husband ordered the sea bass which he did enjoy. The overall cost when five meals were unacceptable was disappointing. Avoid the Milanese.

Wow.....rarely have I revisited an establishment and been so disappointed. Never again. Having dined here on several occasions I revisited on a Wednesday night. It was I who greeted the waiter-he did not greet me. He simply said' are you here to check in' (it is also a small hotel). No I responded I have a dinner reservation. No response from him. I went to the singular, small table which I had reserved earlier. 'No' he said loudly. 'Here'. I looked for a dog thinking he was calling one to heel'. I said that I preferred the one I had reserved. He said 'No it is too small. He got his way and I was sat next to a boiling hot radiator adjacent to the ladies toilet. I hope he was happy as I was not. A catalogue of events ensued including a rather exasperated 'cook' ringing a bell to call staff to the kitchen-oft to no avail. I finished my overcooked fish and chips and waited and waited-despite there only being 8 other diners in the restaurant- for someone indeed anyone to collect the plate again to no avail. Whilst waiting I witnessed another disgruntled fellow diner. He had waited 15 minutes for his garlic bread (whilst his main course was no doubt getting cold. Another couple waited and waited and finally their dinner arrived. They were not happy.I was not asked if I had enjoyed my dinner and neither was I offered dessert. I finally caught the attention of one waiter who promised a dessert menu though this did not arrive. 10 minutes later I asked another waiter and to my horror a truly, quite literally dirty A4 typed paper was proffered to me. It had dirty stains on both sides. I pointed this out to the waiter who rudely said ' I shall take that as a No'. No indeed. I asked for the account. I paid £18.45 for overcooked fish and chips and a small lemonade. NEVER AGAIN. AVOID. Better off at Mc Donalds in nearby Stroud which could teach these staff a thing or two for at least you get quick service and food of a better quality than this establishment. APPALLING. I shall be detailing further my 'experience' on social media.PS I asked for change from my £20.00 which was not forthcoming until I visited the bar.......WOW!

We’d had a disappointing experience elsewhere when we arrived at the Ormond without a booking. We were made to feel welcome and invited to choose a table in the outside garden area.We ordered drinks and asked about food. There was a short delay while the options were confirmed and we ordered Thai curry and pork & chorizo.By this point it was getting cool outside. We’d been told they were fully booked in the very prettily decorated gazebo and there were reserved notices all round. However, we were cheeky and asked if any of the tables had become free and seems they had quite a number of no shows. That was great for us but difficult for businesses trying their best to suddenly have capacity when they thought they were fully booked.Plans change and the weather changes but if you have a booking, please be kind to hospitality businesses, who’ve had such a tough time and just call them if you can’t make it.The food we’d ordered arrived well cooked, hearty and hot. We so appreciated that having got a little chilly outside. We were well looked after by all the staff, would absolutely recommend the Ormond and will return next time we stay nearby.

This restaurant seems to have had a bad press from the recent review posted by a reviewer who seems to have just joined and written this review as his first report. The beauty of Tripadvisor is that everybody is entitled to their opinion. However all I can say is that our dinning experience was the polar opposite. We went for Dinner on Wednesday this week whilst staying at the Ormond on a three night visit to the area (hotel review separate). My wife and I both enjoyed our meals and found the staff and Adrianna helpful and charming throughout our stay not just the meal.We ate out at three different places in Tetbury during our stay and I would put my haunch of venison which I ordered at Ormond as my best main meal of our trip. The menu is very varied and my wife also enjoyed her Malaysian curry. I love calamari as a starter and this was up there with the better ones. The value was also good. Worth a visit in IMHO.

As a pre lockdown treat while away in the lovely town of Tetbury, my partner and I had the distinct misfortune of being pointed towards the Ormond. A rather strange set of circumstances led to our landlord pointing us towards this country pub for a drink, courtesy of him, for a problem with our Airbnb. The Ormond had been recommended on his itinerary as a nice spot so we were excited to try this place out. We ordered a pint and a gin and tonic but we really wish we hadn’t. As we asked to arrange payment, we advised that we had been told to speak to “Alex or Adrianna” as our local landlord would then settle up with them. The barman took issue we hadn’t brought it up initially, on reflection I wish I had but meant nothing by it. However It was made out to be a huge issue in front of a pub of people.Adrianna then arrived and looked us up down as if we were a pair of thieves. At this point we didn’t want to make a fuss or be made to feel like cheapskates. We were simply following advice from a local. At this point I offered to pay as I wanted the ground to swallow me up. As the customers turned heads, the landlady stated it wasn’t a problem so we could get on our way. Fast forward to the morning after and I was awoken by my front door was being banged down, a ‘visitor’ had forced their way through the first security door of our accommodation and persistently knocked on my door for minutes. I opened the door amazed to see Adrianna demanding her money (a whopping £10 to be precise). We were mocked for still being in our pyjamas (on holiday) and left feeling a bit unnerved at how she’d got in and awoken us. Whilst I wish our landlord may have alerted the pub of his complimentary offer, I really feel that the hospitality industry should be able to adapt to things like this. Instead we were mocked in a pub of people and made to feel distinctly unwelcome. Our stay in Tetbury continued for 2 more days and if we’d had a remotely nice time there, the Ormond would have gained far more business from us. However, it would pain me to line the pockets of this mob any further.Wishing pubs and the hospitality industry the very best at times like these but the Ormond would do well to revise their customer service. I wholeheartedly believe in paying your debts, however we were assured the pub would resolve with our landlord. Other reviews seem to say the same thing about their mean spirited attitude.Dire, rude and miserable. Stay on their good side otherwise the bailiffs might come knocking!!

Popped in for a simple bite to eat. Was told they were busy and there would be a bit of a wait. Waitress took our order. The drinks arrived shortly followed by a waiter with the bill and card reader expecting immediate payment. Strange as normal service is payment at the end. We told him there was a problem with several dirty cups, saucers, dirty milk jugs and a random bent spoon. Dirty crockery is bad enough at any time but during a global pandemic you’d expect everyone to up their game! Waiter came back saying he got into an argument for us with the manager but had managed to take one item off the bill as compensation. He kept saying he was on our side and would look after us. Strange behaviour again! 40 minutes after ordering waiter comes back to inform me they don’t what I ordered and they provide something different instead. At this point we decided to cut our loses and spoke to a manager to get a refund and leave. A very odd encounter that we don’t wish to remember or repeat!

What a shame with this place as its looks so inviting. So in we went for our last night of our stay in the Coltswolds only for it to be ruined by an either misguided chef or owner. I ordered veal with dauphinois potatoes. Iit sounded great on paper but what a mistake. it came out absolutely swimming in a red wine sauce and needless to say everything tasted the same and after a few mouthfuls it was sickly. I ate the Venison which was cooked well but it could have been so much nicer if a little care was taken. I would suggest that whoever owns this place that they order a meal undercover to really experience what their customers are being made to pay for. I complained to the waiter/owner and he just said he'll let the chef know and then sent the barmaid over to collect the full payment. We didn't stay for dessert or another drink. What a shame

Four of us stopped here between Worcester and Bristol. Pot luck but all of us had a great lunch. The service was really good. Try the koftas or the venison burger. All good.

I enjoyed my stay at The Ormond Hotel. The rooms were comfortable. The hospitality was really helpful. The beers and food were tasty. In the centre of Tetbury. Would come here again.

Visited yesterday whilst in Tetbury for a look round. Not read any reviews before and just happened to be passing. "That's Nice" so we went in! Straight to a table looking out onto the courtyard.

My friend and I love Tetbury for a days shopping and also a good spot for lunch is a must. So we tried the Ormond for the first time and were not disappointed. We went for the 2 or 3 course lunch menu. There were 4 choices for each course which were varied and go us wanting only 2 courses it was hard to decide whether to have starter and main or main and dessert. We both went for ham, eggs and chips which I was able to change for salad.

Called here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The bar meals were served in a relaxed environment and although simple fare, were well presented and hearty. We will certainly return next time in Tetbury.

Having eaten in the Snooty Fox the previous evening I thought we were headed for pub grub at the Ormond but boy was I wrong! The menu offered an excellent range of dishes and we were well looked after by attentive staff. We asked for some tweaks to certain dishes; no onions on this, no tomato on that, etc, and everything came as ordered. Mrs S said that the seafood linguine was the best she’d eaten. Plus, of course, there is a good range of beer which washed the meal down with ease. I’d say this is the best of the four restaurants that we ate in during our short stay in Tetbury.

I was aware there was no parking at the hotel, but managed to park directly opposite in a bay where the restrictions are 1 hour between 8am and 6pm. Therefore arriving just after 5pm and leaving at 9am was fine for me.

Stopped at the Ormond for afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere in the bar. Ordered a latte and a cappuccino together with a piece of sponge cake, and a toasted tea cake. My bill came to £11.20. No complaints about the place, and would call again if in Tetbury.

We had a 2 night stay at the Ormond on 19th and 20th of April 2018. We were very impressed by the individuality of the hotel. Our room was fantastic, large and beamed. The use of colour, cushions and pictures throughout the hotel created a lovely atmosphere. Sylvia the manageress was great, so friendly and efficient. We had an evening meal both nights which was delicious. Would definitely recommend The Ormond.

We went to an antique fair near Tetsbury and on the way back we stopped at The Ormond for an afternoon tea - it was 4.15 pm on a Sunday and it was advertised outside as "Cotswolds Cream Teas". We sat in the bar - nice atmosphere for a pub, but not a tea room; we were the only ones not drinking beer, which felt a bit odd. The tea was OK, with the scones and the chocolate brownie surprisingly good, clearly home made and served with abundant clotted cream and jam. It would have been nice if we had been given a couple of napkins, clean(er) cups/teapots and not had to ask for the sugar twice. Reasonable prices.

Dropped in here tonight not knowing what to expect. Having lived in Tetbury for 20 years before moving away a few years ago, my memory of the Ormands was patchy. A nice surprise awaited me - a convivial atmosphere for an early evening bar snack. Food was very good for a reasonable price. I think we’ll be visiting again soon!

My fiance and I went along to the Ormond as I was desperately craving a burger (I am 5 months pregnant). After his starter of whitebait arrived (which my fiance said was good) we waited 35 minutes for our 2 burgers. They arrived with an explanation. The chef was new and was unsure of how to make burgers. The first attempt did not work so they tried again, unsuccessfully. We were presented with grey, oily mince meat, slopped onto a now very soggy bread bun. It was not a burger and in no way resembled one. They were offered free of charge but I don't think they should have been served at all. I did not want to risk touching mine and left with a grumbling stomach. Very disappointing.

We visited for lunch with a friend. Pub looks very homely with a roaring log fire in the middle of a lovely village! Don't let this deceive you (like it did me). Food is overpriced and very very average. £10 for a couple of bacon slices tucked inside granary bread with some limp lettuce is an outrage. What's more outrageous though is that when you go to pay they AUTOMATICALLY add a 10% service charge to the bill for both the dank sandwiches and the drinks! In restaurants I've seen a service charge added but I've NEVER been ripped off with an underhand service charge by a barmaid in a pub before! Service charge .... 10% Service charge .... All that was missing was any form of service. This place is a total rip off - their food is not even average and they are totally underhand in their pricing .... I didn't realise I'd been robbed until I got home .... I won't be visiting again ... I will warn every one I can about this disgraceful place. Don't go - they don't deserve your custom .... and if you do go .... Don't get robbed (like I was)

As we were a large group of eight adults and four young children we made a telephone booking. We were given a dining area to the rear of the pub, and arrived to find the table beautifully set out for us with high chair as requested. The staff were friendly, service was excellent and the food delicious. Dietary requirements, (two gluten-free and one vegetarian were well catered for and advice on options from the menu given by staff). There was a wide range of meals on the menu, and also good choice of children's meals and portions were generous. We would definitely recommend The Falcon to others! Many thanks again.

This gastro pub is a real find. The food was excellent and the menu was varied. I’d particularly recommend the venison haunch in cranberry saw. There was also a very good vegetarian burger. The food was delivered quickly and the staff who most welcoming and friendly. Thank you all for such a lovely lunch.
