Just what I wanted.. a dirty take away don't matter the price, it was worth every penny dirty fries chicken tikka fries bowl!! O.m.g and a decent proper burger tastes delicious. Defo recomend.

Oh dear. Not what the name implies at all. My Original Meal Deal with pre-formed, warmed-over cheap beef patty, sickly sweet onion sauce & pickled jalapeños was only just edible, but I was hungry. No passion in this food. No toilet in this worn-out tired-looking place either. It’s cheap, but I’d avoid if you’re looking for a serious burger. This whole meal was only £8.69 and the shoestring fries were OK so there’s that.

Always buy the Mexicano gourmet burger very nice and slightly chilly aswell hits the spot would recommend to try it

After long time somebody delivered the yummy food to us, every time we order the food from other take aways either it’s cold or taste less and waste of money but The Original Gourmet Burger Co. didn’t disappoint us and specially buy one get one burger deal really surprise us we thought it will be small burgers but it was good size burger and quality wise it was good too. Peri Peri Chicken was yummy and juicy too. Food was delivered hot and on time really enjoyed the meal with family after long time without any issue other wise every time we order the food from out side there are some issue we need more take aways like The Original Gourmet Burger Co. in Reading and who deliver in Arborfield Green. Sorry food was so yummy forgot to take the pictures 😂

Food came cold and looked like this., i called to give the benifit of fixing the ussue as ive ordered over 30+ times with no problems, but appatently they dont want to fix issues when they mess up, didnt get the name of the guy who i spoke to but aporentky it was all my fault. I been there fırst tıme wıth my frıends, there were 2 young guys and they were nıce and kınd and they took our order kındly.while we were waiting onother old man came and he was very rude just like we did bad things.just want to say do not order that man ask for the other young guys for order

The food and service is always on point. Sunday 9th April it was very busy, especially at iftar time but all the staff worked hard together. I watched them churn out order after order and when my food arrived it was hot and tasty. Ahmed was on shift and all the boys worked together to please all the customers.

We ordered in the store for take-away and you can see the stations behind the counter. It looked very much like everything that went into the burger was bought in, premade. Chips were out of a frozen bag, and from what I could tell the burger patties were straight out the fridge. Nothing gourmet about this place. If this doesn't bother you, the burger was still tasty and everything was made to order even if a little pricey given the quality of the food.

Top place! Kids loves too, chicken nuggets brilliant! Not some cheapest weird meat like in some other places. Food always hot and very decent portions for decent price. If you can put the 2 star hygiene rating to the back of your mind, this place is a diamond amongst the rough. It's insanely good value, and the burger variety and flavours are really good, and a great guilty pleasure.

New to the area and been trying to find a local takeaway we can rely on for our once a week takeaway. Driven past here a few times and decided to give it a try. There is a lot of choice here with burgers, hotdogs and chicken available. I thought I would try out the burgers as this is what you'd expect is the speciality. Again a decent choice of burgers, I picked out the original burger with a couple of modifications. Service was very good, order was easy. Didn't have to wait too long for my burger, which I think is an interesting one because it rang some alarm bells. Normally I'd expect the cooking to take a bit longer. Regardless I took the items and went home to try. The burger wasn't that good unfortunately, it had the dry mealy texture of a frozen patty. The toppings were nicely applied and it had a brioche style bun. But it was all let down by a dry juiceless burger. I think if you want to call yourself The Original Gourmet Burger Co you really need to be using freshly made burger patties. This didn't do it for me. The search continues

Been here a few times, but never again, I thought il give it a chance but it was always bad. Gourmet high prices but not gourmet food. Burgers dry and chewy. Chips soggy and bad tasting. Cheese is cheap processed stuff not cheddar. Burger looked messy like it was thrown together, even had nearly half an onion with stalk attached. Paid for extra burger toppings but dont get them. Paid for breast burger and got a strip burger. Staff to busy on phone instead of making sure food comes out quick and hot. After asking about missing items they weren't interested in resolving it. Not recommended.

This place has got really good this year the piri piri burger is the best I’ve had so far in reading very well priced 6.50 for a meal is insane half the price of pepes and you get a way bigger portion and it tastes so much better especially with the sauce on the chicken and the store is so clean when I go and looks fresh nice design on the packaging as well. Chips also cooked to perfection. Definitely going at least once a week

I just ordered a takeaway. I can say I always order the chicken tikka loaded fries, which is always the best 10/10. However, this time my parents thought let’s try the chicken strips. I can strongly advise anyone who wants to get chicken strips- do not get it as it’s very dry. Also, in my salad I found a plastic at the end, plastic probably from the cucumber wrapping. I (I’m guessing). Very disappointed. I have posted a pic of the plastic

Beware: tough dry frozen burger patties. Not fresh at all. Definitely not gourmet as the name states. Note to restaurant owner: Fresh minced meat is cheaper and better than frozen. Cook gourmet as the name states on your restaurant.

Burgers are amazing one of the best I travel from Oxford to eat here!

Ordered two burgers and a hot dog, I shall not be going back at all. The Burger is full of hard gristle took many bites to ensure it wasn't just an unlucky first bite. All I can saw is the taste is ok but as soon as your mouth is full of rock like gristle the whole experience dies. Chips were good but unfortunately they use the cheapest of the cheap burgers and the hot dog is cheap fish n chip meat not worth what they ask for it, and the taste.is not nice. Packaged well but the contents really let this place down.

Enjoy the food from here but recently last 3 times have had items missing from my order. Ordered today missing my fries drink and sauces when ordered a meal just the burger and nuggets turned up.

Love these burgers!!!! Tried them once for a change without knowing what were we gping to have and they are our main burger place now! We love the variety of burgers (have tried a few and they are all amazing!), price and food quality are perfect (although I have to say that Fridays and Saturdays it is a bit worse than weekdays, specially the chips), amount of food is more than enough and presentation is perfect! 100% recommended!!!

Glad I ordered from here, I never ordered from here before and today thought giving it a try. Which turns to be today's best decision. The burger and fries were awesome never had such fresh and crispy fries from a delivery. And the beef (original) burger was awesome the cheese the sauce.. I mean it's great. I usually never posts reviews today after having I couldn't resist and called them already now posting here. Must try

Ordered through Just Eat today. 1) Incomplete order (one meal deal instead of two) 2) So sad burgers! Seemed like someone sat on them.. 3) No Juice in patty.. Very dry 4) Spent almost 50 pounds for 8 burgers through Justeat!!!! Expensive deal but not worth Wont order again... Good only when you have it there.

Doing a bit of a new area tour since moving here for uni Having tried the cheap yet overpriced food at the café along, decided no one could mess up a burger meal Yeah, actually, someone can indeed mess up a burger meal. This place can. If you manage to safely get inside, running the gauntlet of roadmen outside trying to look well 'ard, and dodge both the builders and scaffolding with limited health and safety knowledge and the UberEats/deliveroo riders waiting outside, you get in to what looks like it may have been cool in 1975. This being 2021, it's so not cool anymore. Prepare to repeat your order v-e-r-y slowly, at least three times before you get a nod and asked to part with a considerable sum of cash. Got it home and talking slowly hadn't worked as each and every bit of what was shoved in the bag was wrong. If you thought McDonald's lacked flavour then you will be sourly disappointed here. Not sure if it was a burger or the cardboard from underneath a microwave burger? Vegetarian housemate was given chicken. Or soylent green. Who knows. How this place is open I've no idea but I won't be going back. I wasn't going to complain in person as the roadman probably wouldn't have appreciated it. Proof that you should stick to what you know.

Ordered via just eat last night after reading all the great reviews on Google but I must admit that was I disappointed. My lamb burger was cold which was surprising and frustrating as the food was delivered quickly and the beef burger which my wife had was warm (though not hot). The patty was also a bit dry which again was disappointing. The fries were again average and not hot. On the plus side, the buffalo wings were very good and flavorful, delivery was quick and friendly and food is well priced too. Maybe the average food was a one off and it was our first time too, but definitely disappointed.

This place is an absolute joke, they take your money and don’t even deliver your order. After 3 hours of waiting for my order, they tell me it’s been delivered when it didn’t! The driver is completely rude, swore on the phone and hung up. When you call the takeaway, all they do is laugh on the call and put you on hold! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! YOU WILL REGRET IT! FAKE BUSINESS! THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DONT DELIVER! WOULDVE GIVEN NO RATINGS BUT HAD TO PUT 1 TO SUBMIT.

The Original Gourmet Burger outlet today for a piri piri chicken wrap. So shop front thou in its hay day was done to a fairly decent standard it's now looking pretty worn, it's still clean thou and they have bench seating you can sit at... On looking at there prices they are very reasonable and our at the average range for this type of outlet, the product packaging is great loverly paper bags, and recycled card containers, the fries were very good for the price and you certainly could taste the potatoes in them, the wrap was also very good with a decent standard piri piri sauce marinade, there some parking to the front but this small shopping pr cinct is quite busy you can park around the corner thou in Noris Road which is still 2hrs no return. All in all a thumbs up definitely from me 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Grilled fast food. Better than your standard fast food take aways selling burgers and grilled chicken but I wouldn't call it Gourmet. Limited drinks, no Desserts or shakes. Also not the friendliest of service. Food was reasonably priced. £7.99 for a meal with the most expensive burger.

A last minute choice as our hotel was so bad, but WOW seriously the best burger ever. Delivery was quick and easy and the delivery driver was friendly and funny. Got the food back to the room still hot enough but it was juicy and meaty and messy great burger, chips were a bit dry

Amazing burgers, been regular since opened, my family love it!! I normally go for jerk burger with extra jalepeanos and extra rashers!!

Gourmet burger is one of our favourite fast food in Reading, burger sandwiches are fresh and tasty. We always do take away, as seating area is small, staff are friendly, delivery is sometimes an issue depending on how busy they're. I really wish them the best and that they expand and have a nice seating indoor area.

I was randomly looking om google maps for somewhere close that did a cheap burger meal and this place popped up. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the burger. Good size, great tasting beef and decent chips. Best takeaway burger I've had in a long time.

Decent food for a good price. My issue, hence the 3 stars, was the complete lack of any COVID protocols being followed-- masks, gloves, hand washing, sanitizer, distancing.... We wouldn't feel comfortable going back.
