The doner meat I’ve had (on two occasions now) have just tasted what I would imagine tarmac tastes like… maybe my expectations are too high but lacking in flavour and texture is rubbery/speed bumpy.

The place is nice and clean, the guy is very friendly, I ordered chicken shish it was delicious and my family enjoys it, I would highly recommend it, garlic sauce and chilli sauce are excellent and very tasty.

I have been coming here for 30 odd years, and although the business has changed hands within family a few times the quality of food has remained the same if not better. Highly recommend….

How is this possible to have 4.6 star while my food came stale and couldn’t event get second bite after my first one. I needed to throw all away. Garlic sauce tasted unfresh, salads sour taste. Disgusting and disrespectful service!

Old, dry meat. Sour vegetables. Mint sauce instead of garlic. What a disgusting place. I do not recommend it and advise you to be careful.

I've used Istanbul grill for many years and been very happy with the service and the food Unfortunately i had problems with my last order I ordered a delivery out of hours on Saturday afternoon ready for delivery in the evening I selected a time for delivery which was 7.20 which is the time I always put for delivery on takeaways The order arrived at 5pm, with the delivery driver saying he'd been specially to deliver my order and that he couldn't take it back We had to accept the order and reheat it two hours later The issues were with my meal not my wife's I selected well done meat, which it clearly wasn't I won't go on about the rest, but we had to put the majority of the order went in the bin Very disappointed not just with the order but with the quality of the food Such a shame, they were adamant the order came out as an ASAP order, know the time I selected butas I didn't receive an order confirmation I have no proof However my real disappointment was with the food, maybe a one off, I know if happens sometimes, but won't be finding out as after all these years, I'm not ordering a kebab again

Bountiful and absolutely delicious! I love coming here. The food is incredible: it is fresh and full of flavour, the meat is just so succulent and tasty. It is a brilliant place to grab lunch from for work or to get something for your friends and family. The portions are utterly generous too and they are also affordable. It has become my favourite place to take food from in town. Will definitely be coming back, and I recommend everyone to give it a try!

Food is great and it is the best kebab I have had in Reading. The downside is delivery. It took roughly 50 mins for me to get food delivered and it is cold.

I went in today and was greeted with friendly, smiling and talkative staff. This is exactly what I look for and makes a great impression for the whole experience. The conversation while I waited for my food was a lovely bonus which you can't get at a lot of places! The food was also hot fresh and tasty :) I do recommend!

Authentic donner and their sauces are home made! Would definitely try out their chilli sauce as it’s the reason why everyone keeps going back there. Portion sizes are huge and they are generous with everything. Service is amazing too.

Well done Istanbul,I have to say I've just eaten the best Chicken shish,tender chicken,fresh salad and pitta with lovely crispy chips. On the odd occasion chicken has been over cooked but today and the last order I had was cooked to perfection. Top marks.

We come from out of town to order from here and we have never been let down. The food is always tasty and full of flavor. The staff/owner is always friendly and treats you like a friend or family member and not just a customer. Highly recommend the shisha wraps!

We walked in and waited a bit as they were very busy but the wait was worth it. Portions are huge and I couldn't finish my meal at one go so will have the rest for lunch tomorrow. The food is absolutely delicious and would highly recommend this place. Was happy to see that they are sticking to the old traditional way and only take cash.

Walked in and even though they were busy we only waited 10 minutes for our kebabs, delicious food, fries still crispy when we got home, kebab was huge but munched the lot it was that good. Staff very friendly and made us feel welcome. Will be back again.
