The Orient Restaurant in Cheshire East

Went for a meal out, food was very tasty.

There was about 10 or so of us celebrating a friend's birthday, only a few of us had starters and main courses I think everyone had something different apart from two in the group! I had Thai style green lip mussels to start, nicely cooked and packed with flavour, main course was the Lamb and Leek with egg fried rice again excellent, really enjoyed what I ate! Everyone did how good their meals were and they would definitely return. The staff couldn't have been more helpful if they'd tried.

this is by far the best Chinese food in sandbach and i will be visiting again and again. Its always busy and bare that in mind when planning what time you want to eat as it could be over an hours wait for take out ..

Just had the most amazing Kongkong banquet ( Sat 27th Jan 2024 ) " For my brothers birthday" thankyou to everyone at the Orient so a fantastic special meal. All the food was fab as was the service and friendly, helpful staff. Thankyou for a grest evening 😀

Food was amazing, we ate too much but that was our own fault. Would recommend a dine-in for some authentic Chinese food.

Unfortunately the table cloth was dirty so clearly not cleaned from sitting before, it was cold upstairs, staff didn’t follow order of what to remove from dish. A little disappointing unfortunately. Maybe just too busy today.

I visited recently with my family. It was a very nice occasion. We ordered a platter to share for a starter, which was delicious. I'm a vegetarian, and there was a lovely selection on the platter, and a good choice of vegetarian main meals. The food came quickly, and was good!

Visited the Orient on the 11th November, with my family. Had lovely food ,drinks and the staff are warm, welcoming friendly which made are night! Well done to u all. Orient restaurant is one of favourite restaurants, we will all be back soon.

The Orient is our number one choice in Sandbach. Had a meal on Friday, the food was absolutely delicious, piping hot, fresh, tasty, a meal that even though you were full you had to keep eating! Added to that the staff are wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit already

Good food, possibly a little more expensive than your average Chinese/Tai restaurant but good value. Speedy service, despite a very busy take-away trade. A huge choice of dishes on the menu and we enjoyed it all. Thank you.

Would rate higher if possible. Apart from the food being amazing, the cleanliness and decor being top class the staff went above and beyond. Our party had one wheelchair user and they were at the door opening it for us almost before we got there and this help continued until we left. Thank you to all the staff it was very much appreciated.

Great food, quick service and decent price. Had king prawn pad Thai, egg fried rice, shredded beef, noodles and the standard sauces and was all great. Didn't get a photo of it. We had the hot and spicy starter and that was great. That is the photo attached.

Anniversary meal, the food was really good, fresh and tasty. The menu is very extensive. The service is excellent, nothing too much trouble.

Having never visited the Orient before i found the greeting, the service and the food second to none.We will definitely be going again.

We visited this restaurant for the first time last night as we love Chinese food and most of the restaurants we liked to visit have closed. We were not disappointed, we had a Hong Kong banquet, all of the food was fresh and tasted delicious. We were given a sufficient breaks between each course so didn’t feel like were rushed. The restaurant was very busy and the staff never stopped all evening but they were still very friendly and helpful. We couldn’t eat all the food and it was no problem getting it boxed up to takeout for tomorrow. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and I will definitely return again, I may even live dangerously and try some of the other cuisines!

Like the title so glad the restaurant is back open. We had a lovely welcome and a wonderful delious meal couldn't fault a thing. Cant wait to return. Best restaurant in Sandbach.

This has reopened recently which we are thrilled about. Good food and service. Take aways are also available. Lovely clean white cloths on tables makes it feel special.

Me and my partner have been ordering takeaway from The Orient for years, we were eagerly awaiting its reopening and it was so worth the wait! Consistent quality and such a friendly service, highly recommended.

What a great restaurant and what lovely staff! We booked a table for our first visit to The Orient, and we’re glad we did. For a Thursday evening the place was busy! A group of ladies, plus other pre books, walk ins and takeaways kept the two waiting staff busy. They kept their cool and smiles! We started with crispy duck which was very good. My husband ordered a seafood main and I had crispy chilli beef plus noodles and bean sprouts. All were delicious and the portions were large. A couple of ladies next to us ordered a banquet - by the time the mains were due, they were struggling!! You definitely need a big appetite to finish a banquet!! Would highly recommend.

Ordered take out food at 5pm did not arrived until 6.30 Had to call twice to see where the food was. When it arrived it was cold and the chips where cold and did not taste nice at all will not order from there again not hapy at all

The family had booked a meal for my wife's birthday as its normally one of our favourite restaurants, however on this occasion the service wasn't great, though I understand there were 10 in our group. A couple of the group were also dissapointed with their food. When we asked whether we could get some more drinks the staff were rather rude. Never had an issue before, but unfortunately we will try other establishments in the future. Such a shame...

The restaurant was very clean and well presented. The waiting staff were really pleasant and friendly attending to everyone’s needs. We had a party of 12 for a birthday meal and everybody selected different items from the menu and all enjoyed each dish. The food was really fresh, tasty serve nice and hot. All in all it was a lovely place and good food on our visit.

Generally the food was very good (although some of the chicken was a bit chewy), unfortunately the service was very disappointing. When we arrived we were greeted with a waiter who didn’t even ask if we’d booked and if we had what name. We were just directed to a table. When we asked about a certain dish being available we were told it was but the price on the menu was wrong - it was another £6 which made the dish very expensive so didn’t bother with it. We also wanted to order Prosecco, and even though it was on the drinks menu we were told they didn’t do Prosecco any more. We ordered our food which included prawn crackers, which never arrived. When we had our main courses I had to go to the serving area to ask for our rice. We were not made to feel welcome, the serving staff were more interested in talking to other parties who were obviously their friends & we felt that we were just an inconvenience. Asked for the bill, but again it didn’t arrive so I had to go to the serving area to ask to pay & when I did I was told that the staff were too busy talking, which they thought was really funny 🤷‍♀️. We were charged for the prawn crackers which we never got, but this was removed from the bill without question, but no apology. I wouldn’t go as far to say the evening was ruined, but it was a birthday meal (although we purposely didn’t tell the restaurant this) and it was not what we expected. Will definitely not be going back, but in future will get a takeaway from Swan Lake in Winterley who always provide great food & the staff are always very friendly & appreciate our custom.

Visited on a Sunday evening without a booking. Parked at a nearby free of charge car park. Warm welcome from staff. Had previous used as a take away but first time we had used for on site dining. Excellent service. Good menu selection and tasty food. Served in a timely manner. Good selection of vegetarian food for those who require. Good selection of alcoholic and non alcohol drinks. Will be using again.

Excellent food and a good menu. It was a noisy Thursday evening with most tables occupied, there were no soft furnishings to absorb sound, though a clean and comfortable restaurant. Would go back on a quieter night and/or get takeaway.

Pre covid this place was amazing but disappointed on last night's meal. Busy and service slow, people who came in after us getting served before us and we were left for a while. Some items which were on the menu were not being sold anymore as waitress said they were now to expensive for them to buy. Starter really nice but mains seemed poor quality and nowhere near as good as the food has been in the past. Not sure if covid shut down has had an affect but mains tasted like cheaper quality food items and didn't feel it was up to their usual high standards. Waitress did nothing but apologise and said restaurant was trying it's best, this was even though we never complained about anything so obviously the staff are also aware things aren't quite as good as they were. Maybe just a one off night but disappointed none the less as waited a long time to return here. Unfortunately, wouldn't be in a rush to return.

Love it here. Very hard to beat on quality of food. Lovely staff and attentive. A firm favourite for catch ups with friends.

Contemporary setting, superb service and outstanding Chinese and Thai food. Best Dim Sum ever. Singapore vermicelli noodles were out of this world.

We ate here with another couple last weekend. It was a busy Saturday night yet the staff were attentive and humorous. I eat gluten-free and had plenty of choice with clear guidance on suitable dishes (and apologies when one I particularly wanted couldn't be made GF). We all ate well, more than enough, in comfortable surroundings. A mix of larger groups and couples show that this restaurant can accommodate as many people as you want to bring with you! The friends we ate with are regulars - it was their Dad who fell over and was cared for wonderfully by the staff - and we, like them, will be back. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already!

Food is top notch, as good as food we had in Thailand - and just as reasonably priced! Service is wonderful too; elderly gent fell over and staff were so kind and helpful, sat him down and got him a drink then walked him back to his car. Really go the extra mile! I took my Dad here for his birthday and I have to say that the food served here was outstanding, easily the best chinese food I have had. We ordered four dishes with rice and were thinking we wouldn't finish and we might have to take some home but no we finished it all it was lovely I'm just sorry that I've not visited before having lived in the area for a while now. All I would say is don't be put off by the slighly higher than average prices as it really is worth it and the portion sizes are generous. I'm a firm believer that you should get what you pay for and the Orient really didn't dissapoint. I would highly recommend a visit.

I was fortunate to choose my takeaway from my regular restaurant tonight.Cantonese ribs and shredded chilli beef with egg fried rice.The meal was outstanding and so were the girls who served me.So polite,smiley and friendly.Love this place.

New Year's Eve is usually not a good time to dine , because you are rushed and the food is not always as good as a normal night , but not here at The Orient it was superb , 4 of us had a banquet meal , and every dish just kept on coming at the right time . Also very reasonable priced drinks , not ripped off like some places do at this time of year. Roll on 2019 to go dinning at the 'Orient ' .

Had a bit of a wait for our pre-ordered takeaway but the staff were very friendly and offered us toffees! The food was superb and there was loads of vegan/vege options. The salt and pepper tofu and braised tofu were delicious and the meat eaters in our party were surprised the vege chicken in black bean sauce wasn’t actually chicken. Can’t wait to visit again, possibly eating in as it was very nice inside.

We visited while in Sandbach to visit relatives. The service is friendly and attentive, the food was excellent and the environment is comfortable. I would recommend people to give it a try.

14 of us went to celebrate my birthday every one really enjoyed the food with .plenty of choice, good quality and perfectly cooked. Staff attentive and very friendly. I would highly recommend the sea bass fillet superb ! This is one of the best meals I have had in a long time the food is good quality and the sauces don't swamp the food but compliment it. Will be returning soon.

Went for a family meal on a friends advice and they were spot on, it is defiantly the best tasting food. we had Chinese and pad ty food and they were all very tasty. the staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable for the 7 of us as well.

Super authentic restaurant, the staff are quick , very friendly , food really good , and an excellent take away service. I am a local and we use this restaurant a lot. Always consistent, never an off day, can produce good quality food at a good price consistently.

My first time here with my partner, food was wonderful and the service was very good, took time to talk to us before and after, would recommend this restaurant to everyone .

Came here for an early evening meal ( 5.30 p.m ) It is a small restaurant but at that time there was plenty of seating available. We weren't the only people in, which at that time of day we took as a good sign. We ordered quickly and were served promptly. The portions were plentiful and the food was piping hot. I had duck in plum sauce with coconut rice and it was delicious.

My return visit since 2015. Amazing. Four of us had the Hong Kong banquet. £20.90 each. Absolutely gorgeous. The spicy pork dish was the best but to be fair it all was fresh and tasty. Definitely coming back if only for the spicy pork dish. Also, thank you for the ice cream with a candle for my birthday.

Well its a game of two halfs really, On the plus side is the food, on the negative side the service.

Wonderful food and service, staff very efficient and polite. No fault to be found, won't leave it so long next before we go again.
