The Orient Express in Worcester

I've been using this takeaway for 5 years, no complaints here, love the food, I order on the phone and it's ready in 10mins for collection.

Good Chinese. Fast friendly service. Parking right outside.

Lovely takeaway food was delicious !

Well where to start after travelling 2.5hours home thought I would get the family a Chinese meal stopped at the orient express order the meal asked about the noodle if they were chopped up in to w inch pieces and was assured that they were not. So placed order got home and was greeted by what could only be call slop Singapore chow mein so mushy and tasteless, chicken and green pepper in black bean had no green pepper and was oily needless to say whole meal went in the bin and went and got another take out. Don't spend your hard earned money on sub standard food unless you like that sort of thing. And before anyone asked why didn't I go back and complain I just drove 2.5 hours home after working away. And this is my complaint.

It's a take-away only so one cannot really comment on the "atmosphere" as such. The food is good and they are happy to adjust items to suit your taste. Parking is easy enough. Prices are average. A good standard Chinese take-away in an easily accessible location.

Me and my wife’s weekly takeaway. The service is amazing and fast. The food is delicious and fairly priced, good portion sizes. It’s the perfect takeaway. Sometime we even get free fortune cookies! Highly recommend! 10/10

This used to be a decent Chinese takeaway. But sadly over the last number of years the quality has dropped off significantly. It still appears to be the same owners but for some reason it is not very good food anymore. I would recommend going to the wok & roll in warndon villages.

Its a Chinese takeaway, we've never had a bad meal!

Absolutely horrible chinese food. The chicken was on the turn in all of of our 4 chicken chow meins and we were all sick the next day. Will be taking the food back later.

Ordered four meals by phone at 6pm, got meals at 7.40pm, after waiting over an hour in the takeaway, I complained about why it was takeing so long, got no answer from women takeing orders so I asked for a refund,I was told that the manager will see me but waited another twenty minutes, no manager but then the food came out, fed up I just left with the food, when I got back my friend's had wonder what had happened to me, we sat down to eat, all the food was cold as if it had been hanging around at the takeaway, I had a special curry with was full of onions and peas four pieces of chicken and a very thin source with no curry taste most of the food was wasted, so I will never use this takeaway ever again,and I do not recommend this takeaway, poor service poor food.

Great portion size and tasted good

Our takeaway main courses were very disappointing - tough pork and prawns with veins still attached. Not cheap and, in parts, inedible. The food at this takeaway used to be superb quality but now is extremely poor by comparison. Would not recommend.

One of my regular choices mainly due to being on a main route into the city and it has its own car park. No complaints about the food. Good and I guess typical menu choice. I would recommend.

Really sad that I spent my money here. Lady serving was pleasant and that's the only good thing I can say. Special fried rice - container of plain wet rice. Veg on ontop then an egg ontop of that? Very strange. Chow mein - mushy over cooked noodles that tasted like they'd been burnt in the pan. The other items I ordered were just okay....first time I've ever had to add salt to a Chinese takeaway. Containers were extremely hot yet the food inside was just warm in places, so I'm thinking there's a re-heating method going on here. The amount I spent and I didn't even get the normal free prawn cracker deal that every chinese takeaway has been doing since before time. I'm really upset that I wasted my money, nothing is cheap anymore. Live and learn aye

Probably the poorest Chinese takeaway I have had for ages. We used this takeaway rather than wait for one to be delivered from our usual (China City London Road) and would have rather waited with hindsight. No taste, very bland and totally forgettable.

Portion sizes for Chicken Chow Mein are huge. Always had tasty food from this place and never really had anything to complain about.

Awful. First stop the Won Ton soup - apart from the fact that there were now only 3 won tons instead five this was possibly the blandest and most tasteless broth I have ever eaten, it tasted like someone had been soaking dirty dishcloths in it. Awful. Moving swiftly on to the 'chicken and mushrooms', this consisted mainly of chopped up carrots and other assorted non-descript vegetables, none of which were seasoned, the sauce was almost non-existent and tasteless. Awful. We ended up throwing most of it away. It's a shame as we have had decent food from there before but they have obviously gone downhill. I very much doubt anyone will take the time to respond to this review. Order at your own risk!!

Excellent cuisine & generous portions!

Fast service and delicious food, good portion size. Vegetable spring roll was enough to feed a family of 4, however, only seemed to contain bean sprouts!? Didn't get a chance of the prawn in pepper and black bean as the missus had all that, beef ramdang was cooked well, if you like roast beef and gravy but don't think you like Chinese, try this! Hadn't had Chinese from here for a while as the last one was a but short of the mark. Having thought maybe that was an off day ordered another tonight. Vegetarian Singapore chowmien was just noodles a s onions - were there no mushrooms or peppers in the kitchen? Chicken in chicken chowmien was rock hard and had obviously been reheated. Prawn crackers stale and chips rock hard. Vegetable spring role rock hard on the outside and soggy inside. Needless to say won't be ordering again. Very disappointed as used to be so good. What's gone wrong???????

Decent food at a reasonable price.

1st visit, someone recommended to me, it's a bit further from the usual Chinese when I'm that area, couldn't fault it, we tried something new that was delicious and all our usual choices were perfect.

Food wasnt to usual taste my prawn chow mein was very peppery no other flavour, special curry wasnt much better. Maybe because we went at 5pm on a Sunday wont do that again

This is the first Chinese that we have had for 5 years All the dishes had good chunks of meat. Good heat in the chill sauce. For the none Chinese eater an omelette with chips, plenty of meat in this and a good portion of chips.

Great food on this visit, good and hot and all done quick. We will return.

I ordered a hot & sour soup plus a Singapore Chow mein . The soup was turgid & smelt horrible. It tasted of what I can only describe as Swimming pool Cleaner, It was utterly inedible. The chow mein was actually edible but only just. The noodles were an odd yellow colour & stained everything around them. ? turmeric? but of so why? There were odd bits of chewy meat ( chicken & pork at a guess) but mostly it was slices of Spam. Seriously Spam. The green peppers were raw & the onion not so much sliced as roughly cut up a bit. The bits in the dish were too big to eat without further division. The noodles were bland & not spicy as I'd hoped. Never again. The soup went down the sink & the dogs had most of the noodles. The website claims that this takeaway is afilliated to the well respected New four seasons in Powick . If I were the 4 Seasons owners I'd either sack the managers or remove my affiliation. It was so bad I'm actually cross. I've just read some other reviews & notice that others have found spam in their food too.

Was looking forward to my takeaway yesterday - opted for The Orient Express as is closest to my home. On the positive side, the chap taking my order appeared to be friendly enough, however, not enough to compensate for the terrible food. I ordered hot and sour soup - this was so glutinous with whatever additives they use and tasted very bland - could barely taste that it was a hot and sour soup. This soup is supposed to contain mixed veg, meat and shrimps; well, the veg was diced to within an inch of it's life so i have no idea what I was eating there, the meat tasted and had the consistency of slivers of spam, which was totally disgusting, and I must have had approx. 1 shrimp! For mains I had ordered singapore vermicelli noodles and king prawn balls with sweet and sour sauce. Again, the noodles were very bland (they should be slightly spicy and actually taste of something), and the mixed meat also contained the aforementoned awful pieces of soft horrible spam, which i guess was their interpretation of pork (this should really have been car siu oieces of pork, rather than this cheap substitute). And the king prawn balls - prawns did not taste of anything either and the batter was far too early and doughy, not light and crispy at all. All in all a real disappointment and not cheap either!! My search for a decent Chinese takeaway in Worcester continues!

Easy to order and accurate with time your order will be ready,I haven't ordered a wide selection of different meals here but I know there king prawn curry is top notch,rice chips and ribs are all very nice , staff are very courteous and food is good value.highly recommended

Had a cheeky Tuesday night Chinese as a friend was visiting, and it was really tasty, would totally recommend it.

Good selection, tastes really fresh. Would recommend trying something from the right hand side of the menu, Thai style options. really fresh and spicy.

Popped in after work with fairly high expectations. Staff friendly and service good. Prices average , but most of the food was poor in qaulity and swimming in unknown liquid. Sweet and sour pork was chewy. Overheard owner dealing with a telephone complaint -" We have a new chef and he is usless!" That's all you need to know really. Food only worth 2 stars but have given 3 for service.

After being out all day we decided to get a takeaway being unfamiliar with the local area having moved across town recently we were going to go back to our usual haunt in the London road. We saw this place and thought we'd try it. What a mistake our chow mein was terrible and to add insult to injury it was more inexpensive. We will not be returning.

The past moth every Sunday after my long day at work ive came to this Chinese... a friend recommended it to me as I'm a student and couldn't find a Chinese to my taste. HONESTLY this is the best Chinese in Worcester. FOOD is great, tastes great and is at a really good price. It's got to the point where I class Sundays as a Chinese night because I'm obsessed. Great service and very friendly too... always cater to my needs

Ordered our food over the phone, was told 30 minutes so arrived there 30 minutes later and ended up sat there another 30 minutes as it wasn’t ready! It was very busy so they started rushing all the orders, then when we EVENTUALLY get ours, it’s lukewarm! People coming in to order their food were leaving before us. Not good enough.

I am thinking maybe the other reviews are from rival chinese takeaways in the area. I have been using Orient Express for a while now and have no complaints, their food is always hot when we get it home and we live out side the city about 7 miles, the food is tasty, probably the best I have tasted and never bland. I dont think half of these reviews are genuine to be honest, the only reason I have put four stars is really because of the person behind the counter can tend to be a little "harsh" in communication, but still not enough to put me off ever going there for probably the best chinese there is in Worcester. If you do try Chung Ying Gardens in the city dont forget its not the same as Chung Ying on the London Road, I did not realise there were two so ended up at the "Gardens" one and really is not a patch on Orient Express, so next week I will try Chung Ying on London Road, always up for comparison, and I like to be fair.

Ordered food on 3 occasions, every time I have had missing food from my orders. Find sometimes orders are rushed through. Have lost faith in this take away altogether!!!! Find staff rude and when ordering on the phone they ‘sigh impatiently’. Poor service all over.

We tried this takeaway for the first time and I must say we were quite impressed with the food and its quality, prawns were tender and not rubbery as was the beef which is often chewy for my poor old teeth, but not from here. overall it was good quality and value and we will be back.

Ordered a Chinese takeaway for the family recently (December 2017).Picked it up okay but when I got home we found the food to be just lukewarm and the portions were very small. Very disappointed so I rang the Orient Express, Worcester straight away only to be told that there was nothing she could do! WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, nor should you...

The lady behind the counter in this dump is so rude, I have been before and had very good service ( different lady) and the food was good but on returning the other day it was quite obvious this place has seriously gone down hill. Me and my mum both went in to order our food and as my Mum was telling her what we wanted the lady turned round and said CAN YOU HURRY UP!! My mum had only said the first 2 things we wanted at this stage and was very lucky I didn’t tell her where to shove it and bit my tongue instead, when the order finally arrived it seemed everything was there and we quickly left to get home and find there were no noodles but instead boiled rice ( maybe instead of being so rude she should open her ears).

I was Hungry and my local (Kempsey) takeaway has closed So I tried this and the meal was great. I Had ribs wings and a plain Chow mein it was fresh and hot I will return.

My husband and I have just moved from the other side of Worcester and thought we'd better try a new Chinese close to kempsey. Totally disappointed! Next time We'll be driving to London road as Chung Ying is ten times better. Two of the dishes we had which were meant to be hot & spicy were bland and had no flavour, the mushrooms were like a floury gravy ....luckily you cant go far wrong with a chicken chow mein. Will not return.

Quite simply awful. Will not be using this place again. From the prawn crackers (greasy) to the chow mein and shredded chilli beef (bland). Even left the expensive pancake roll due to lack of flavour. Oh and the mushrooms in some sort of gravy were disgusting too! Never again. Travel 5 minutes up the road to Chung Ying. You won't be disappointed there. £25 down the drain.

Shocking, Bland !! seriously don't get a takeaway !!!!

The owner was rude on the phone, then, when I went to fetch my food, I paid on card which she snatched from my hand and used contactless without asking or permission. Then when I questioned it she snatched back my food and refused to serve me. When she couldn't operate the machine to give a refund she called the police on me!!! The police pursuaded her to serve me my food, she tried to give me the meal that was stood on the side for 40mins!!! When I refused and asked for fresh food, she said no, and gave me a refund and banned me from her shop!!! Which is fortunate because I won't be back!!!!

Great parking and location on the A38 next door to bath road chippy which is also a place worth visiting if anybody in your party would rather have a chippy meal.The food on offer is not the cheapest in the area but you will not be disapointed in the quality of the food you order.The main part of the menu is cantonese but the also have a good few Thai and malaysian selections cooked to a lovely distinctive taste.Open early about half 4 and its 7 days a week.Its worth popping along there for a good decent takeaway treat.You will also notice its spotless.

Had two dishes there- unfortunately both were substandard (or unathentic shall I say), service though quick was bad overall.

Completely tasteless, uncooked chips, ribs awful and where was the crab? Would not recommend.
