Hing Tai in Worcester

Genuinely - one of the better chinese meals i have for a long time.. The prawn toast was fresh tasting, meaty and actually tasted like king prawn. The Beef and black bean sauce, had some of the most tenderised beef, however missed out a flavour kick overall the beef made up for its slight shortfall. The lettuce dumplings i have missed since i left london, and they are on par with some amazing chinese restaurants in london. Lettuce still has a bite, not slimey and broth with full of flavour the spring onions made it. Order was taken very well, and delivered speedy enough that the beef was still warm, even afyer eating the soup and prawn toast.

Don't tell people it will be ready in half an hour, when you get there I think they start to make it

It was food, just about, everything was over battered, thick batter and lacking flavour. One of the worst Chinese's Ive eaten. Must be better in Worcester, we were visiting and didnt check the reviews on here first.

Hing tai is my favourite takeaway in St John's. Unfortunately they have had to reduce how often they are open resulting in then being perhaps overwhelmed with orders. The ribs I had the time before were juicy and generous, but this time they were over cooked and dry. A little disappointed, but hoping it's a one off. I waited an hour and 25 mins for my order, which I think had been hanging around a while.

Hing Tai Chinese Takeaway in Worcester is my go-to spot for delicious Chinese cuisine. The flavors are always on point, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. However, occasionally, the food isn't as hot as I'd like it to be. Despite this minor hiccup, Hing Tai remains one of my favorite takeout places in Worcester!

Best Chinese Curry in Worcester

I was very pleased with the takeaway I ordered last night. The beef was very tender and the overall meals delicious and much improved from when I ordered a long while ago. Arrived on time. Will definitely order again.

Expensive and awful awful awful 🤢 ordered a chicken curry with chips and some chicken balls. Honestly I ain't fussy when it comes to food but I literally had to throw half of this away. Total waste of money. There was slimy pieces of fat in my curry, onions were so raw, the chicken smelt really off and had a nasty tangy kind of taste to it. Chicken balls also taste weird and smelt off. Felt totally robbed but on the plus side I know never to go there again. Vile. And so expensive compared to anywhere else.

A superb takeaway. We have used it for over 10 years with no issues. Great food, fast service and pleasant staff. Would recommend.

Have used Hing Tai for a number of years (a couple of times a month) Don't know what has happened but the last 2/3 take-aways have not been very good. Today ordered Beef in black bean sauce with green peppers.....just no taste seemed it had been watered down. Orderd prawn balls, problem with the batter just far to thick and greasy. Duck with mushrooms not much better the duck well over cooked. This was the go to Chinese in St John's 2021 -2023 but not any more. Sorry to be so negative but honestly your food is not as good as it was. If you don't address this you will be another casualty of the hospitality industry.😒

Great service, I ordered my food and was told I might be waiting at least an hour…. It came within about 20 minutes after I ordered it! It was really incredible food, good portions and staff were incredibly friendly. Will definitely return! Keep up the good work

Would NEVER eat here again delivery diver is sound but the food was not what was ordered. We asked for special fried rice with NO onions.... What we got was 2 separate trays . 1 was egg fried rice and the other was mainly a tray of onion. PEOPLE EAT ELSEWHERE

The food wasn't great and the shop area stinks like a cat litter tray. Lighting is too much.

Ordered a takeaway over the phone requested no nuts due to an allergy. Got home to find the dish had nuts!! Rang up to be told we had requested extra nuts!! Totally unacceptable, rung up to complain was greeted with next time will give you a free dish, absolutely never again.

Short staffed so reduced opening times currently, slightly longer wait for food than usual but to be expected, food was good and have kept going back over the years

I've used this takeaway for 10 plus years, no issues, very happy. However ...... Last time I ordered a Singapore che me in, phoned to complain as wrong order delivered. They refunded immediately. THIS time, chicken noodle soup which tasted like a chicken stock cube. Yuk sung, soggy noodles. Chicken wings greasy but tasteless. So now looking for a new takeaway

Literally never pick up the phone. When they do food is ok. I reckon they need a kick up the backside and learn how to do some work.

Ordered food 6pm arived 2 hrs later. We were told twice inbetween these times food was on it's way. Arrived not even that hot. Barbeque ribs full of fat . Never again..

We have been using Hing Thai on and off for 30 years, last 5 years or so chicken curry has been very off, but recently I don’t know wha Has changed but it is amazing, just like going back 10 years so tasty good quality chicken. Well done, we will definitely be ordering each week again.

Chips were average but edible. Chiicken and batter were sadly extremely over cooked and drier than Ghandis flipflop, borderline sandy. Prawns were much smaller than other Chinese take aways. Definitely room for improvement here.

Nothing wrong with the food, average Chinese takeaway. Despite ordering face to face they gave us a wrong dish. We called them from home and explained this. They at first weren't prepared to do anything about it. Then they said they would and wanted us to drive back to exchange the dish, which we weren't prepared to do as the rest of the food would be cold. They then said they would exchange the dish but it would take up to 90 minutes to get to us! Terrible customer service 😑

Food is ok, portion size ridiculously small. Spent £47.60 on a meal for 5 and had to make rice at home to bulk them out. Wouldn't use again.

First time ordering from here and it will be the last. We ordered egg fried rice which my dad couldn't eat because it was so salty, beef chow mein was ok but my Cantonese chicken...well it was gross. Firstly it wasn't coated in batter which was a disappointment but most of all it was so bland and full of overcooked veg to bulk it out. My husbands chilli chicken was exactly the same, bland! So annoyed, complete waste of money. Wish I'd made the trip across town to a different Chinese 😔

Absolutely disgusting food. A Cantonese sweet and sour well, tomato soup added chilli and thickened with cornflower absolutely disgusting, no flavour whatsoever very very bland. Egg fried rice is regenerated is not cooked as you wait as it would take longer than 10mins. Special Chowmein, pork was full of fat no lean meat at all and very greasy. This was meant to be a birthday treat takeaway as our usual was shut so we thought we would try it DONT BOTHER, unless you have no taste buds. Staff did not want to know when called to complain GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT!!!!

We were looking to have a Chinese delivery tonight and our usual wasn't open. We were a little skeptical of Hing Tai because of the review score. I have to say it arrived in good time, the food was hot, and it was very nice. We will definitely order from here again!

We had the chilli beef, Szechuan chicken, chips, egg fried rice & prawn crackers. I cannot believe the standard of the food, this was one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had in my life. This is the only restaurant in Worcester who will deliver to our house in the countryside. So after someone mentioning it on our local Facebook page we decided to try a takeout from them. What a fab meal we had. The food arrived on time. It was still piping hot. Quality was excellent and good portion size for the price. Would highly recommend.

I have always had King prawn Cantonese style from numerous chinese takeaways which always contains pineapple and green peppers in a sweet style sauce. I ordered the same from Hing Tai and it was far from Cantonese style. No pineapple, very little green pepper and covered in what I can only describe as akin to tomato soup. It really was disgusting. Previously I ordered the King prawn Hong Kong style which was equally as bad covered in same said sauce. I do believe Hing Tai just make it up and use the same vile sauce masqueraded under different names. The fried rice is stale. It is by far the worst chinese in Worcester and I wouldn't even give it 1 star by choice. Everything tastes old and stale not at all fresh. Dont waste your money. Go elsewhere. It really is a terrible chinese and I am surprised it is still open to be honest.

Absolutely appalled by the standard of food. The prawn rice was extremely fishy tasting to the point I worried it could be off, the shredded chilli chicken tasted of aniseed and was watery and tasteless with what I could only explain as having half an afterbirth on the top like a big black glug of something. The chips were ok but the black bean sauce again tasteless and watery. I phoned to complain and ask for money back as it went straight in the bin but the english speaking man just offered 10% off next order. Sorry pal there won’t be a next order. Shouldn’t be allowed to operate as a food establishment. Rant over.

I understand during covid lockdown there will be less staff in such a place but the beef was undercooked and raw in the middle which is dangerous to me as i am pregnant and the chicken balls were solid and it seemed like the rice was cooked in the same pan as the chicken balls as i had chicken skin in my fried rice. The food quality was very poor and the only reason i am giving 1 star is due to the fast delivery

Shocking food. Beef tasted fishy where do you keep it in a fish tank?!?! Tight on the prawns as well. And my daughter looked green when eating her food as she is allergic to some foods. I’ve got the whole family on the toilet now my house smells vile. Rang the bloke up on the phone to try and get money back but he was rude to me and told us we were being stupid. DO NOT VISIT!!!!

Chinese takeaway my bum (coming out of it more like) beef absoloutey tasted of nothing expect fish - do you cook the ones in your dirty fish tank?!?!? Or do cows now live in the seamount?!?!?. You got a 10p budget for you're prawns mate should do because I wouldn't pay much more anyway mockery on the chicken balls needed a sledge hammer to crack it open. Below average. Ordered a Singapore chow mein, Virtually no meat at all and tasted very bland. Noodles tasted like they were cooked a couple of days ago.

This has been our Chinese of choice for many years. Very accommodating, reasonably priced and tasty. I've only had 1 minor issue in the past when they mistook my order but that was easily rectified. I've only ever ordered in advance and collected. Typically the food is ready for when I arrive in about 10-15 mins. It has taken longer recently but they seem to be under very high demand!

Ordered a delivery from Hing tai tonight at 5:20pm, was told it would be with me shortly,I assumed 45 minutes to an hour as is normal with many of my local restaurants. Still hadn't arrived after an hour and 20 minutes so I called them up and they said the driver had just left with it and I would receive it very shortly. Another 25 minutes later and it still hadn't arrived so I called up and had to cancel it and ask for a refund. Over 1 hour and 40 minutes waiting for it to arrive,was very annoyed!! Definitely wont be ordering from here again. Ridiculous, I only live a 5 minute drive away.

I've been eating food from the Hing Tai since my teens and now in my 50s. I love their curry sauce, noodles and the BBQ spare ribs are good too. The only thing stopping me giving 5/5 is occassionally having items missing from my order, bit the last time they were quick to send it out to me and I can't have been happier. As long as I'm in Worcester I will be eating Hing Tai food.

We regularly use the Hing Tai and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food they offer. The team are generally very busy and it can mean that their estimates of the time food will be ready for collection can be too short. But giving them a few minutes over their estimates has always worked for us in avoiding long waits. They also offer a discount for students (with appropriate IDs).

Just needed to say....we started last year with some very nice takeaways delivered...and it is great that Hing Tai deliver, but unfortunately the last four or five have not been as good. I think, the two meat options, for example, have been used for 'the specials'...the 'Specials' are supposed to include all the options like beef, chicken, pork and prawns...but when they arrive.....dishes like the special fried rice or special curry, just as an example, only include chicken and a bit of pork and are 'bulked up' with bamboo shoots and veg.They are local and I really would like to support them by ordering from them but I have been reluctant recently because of the poor standard recently provided.Would love to order from you but please try and improve the meals.

Placed a big order here, they had half an hour notice before picking it up and it still wasn't ready for 20 minutes after that. The duck was inedible & we found a bone in the chicken fried rice. I have complained but had 0 response. Worst takeout Chinese I have ever had!! You may aswell throw your money out the window.

Poor quality of ribs had one and couldn’t touch the rest, the sweet and sour sauce was over powered by pineapple did not taste like sweet and sour at all from previous places I have tried. My partner had a new tray that did not look appetising at all barely any chicken in it and also had the same sweet and sour sauce. Very disappointed with this order had to throw away more or less the whole order and won’t be going back to hing tai again 👎🏻

We really enjoyed our Chinese takeaway from here. We chose a range of dishes and they were all good, especially the sweet and sour pork balls. The meat was not fatty and they were cooked perfectly.

Ordered food at 19.25 arrived at 21.15, I know takeaways get busy but 2 hours delivery would mean it's the only Chinese takeaway in Worcester right? The food was mediocre ordered beef and king prawn curry but was more like onion gravy with added beef and prawns. Very disappointed in this so called family run takeaway. Definitely would not recommend!!!

Was so upset with my order last week, so much so a week later I’m posting this review. They didn’t put any noodles in our chow mien, the curry was watered and tastless along with the watery stew that was our “chow mien”. Terrible

Ordered food at 18.25 turn up at 20.00pm half the order was missing rang up to be told they could send the rest out but would take over an hour. By that time the rest of the food would of been cold not offered refund or credit note even tho I had paid for it. Think the person who answers the phone needs to learn some manners. Will not be using them again

Family treat. So ordered after getting a menu for first time. Very run of the mill order, 2 beef dishes and ribs. I could of done a better job, by buying a shop bought takeaway. At half the price. Beef was GREY and super bland. Ribs were just gristle (really cheap). And gloopy sauce, that was a reheat without a shadow of doubt. Never use again, as very poor Meal in my opinion.

Usually good service and food but tonight was poor service ordered food for 6pm got there at 6pm and they said it wasnt quite ready they obviously forgot to do the order as i had to wait till 6.25 . Wouldnt of minded if they was honest and said could of atleast had a pint next door then.

If I could leave less than one star I would. My partner and myself ordered as we where babysitting our niece. And the food took 2 hours to come granted they phoned to tell us it was on its way. When it arrived there was a puddle of grease in the bag. The chips tasted like they had been microwaved to stay hot. And beef was rare. Only the outside was brown. When we phoned up to complain they said the only way to have a refund is to put the food back in containers, and drive all the way to them from Kempsey with our niece who was fast asleep in her Cot!! Disgusting response. No apologies or anything they did not even sound apologetic. I am a manager in hospitality and I will tell you the way you reaponded on the phone is one of the reasons why you work in a takeaway.

A recommendation from a friend as we love Chinese food. I have no knowledge of the quality of the food as after nearly 2 1/2 hours of waiting, we were not satisfied that all they would refund was the delivery charge and so we cancelled the order. The customer service could be better and it should not take 4 phones calls from a customer (who is given widely underestimated delivery times on each occasion) to try and get a meal. If I experienced that blatant lack of customer service in a restaurant then I would be expecting them to offer some discount rather than me trying to barter with them. We won't bother ordering again. I'll stick with the Cheng Ye in Lowesmoore or Golden City on Brickfields Road. They're food is great at both and delivery has never been later than stated (definitely not well over an hour late).It should also be noted with the Hing Tai that the staff were not apologetic at any point.

Not had a take away from here for a long time but very happy we did this time. The ribs were amazing and all the ingredients in our other dishes were very fresh and well cooked, only let down was the pancake roll , not very tasty.

The vegetable schezwan had about 20 cloves of raw garlic swimming around in it and it looked like left-over vegetables were shoved in it.. It tasted like microwaved spicy, garlic water with a hint of plastic... Wish we had looked at the reviews :(

Just got to the end of eating my 'vegetarian curry' to find a piece of chicken in it... Obviously theyve just picked the chicken out of a standard curry. Really not impressed. Wont be coming back.

Really poor food. Beef was overcooked and looked like it had been re-cooked .The chicken in the curry tasted funny almost like cleaning product of some sort. The fried rice was like mush. And both myself and partner have been ill for the last two days with stomach upset and cramps . I will not be ordering from this restaurant again!!!

Egg fried rice microwaved, don’t do a proper chinese menu, portion’s are tiny!!! Will never order again! Chips are small bag with reheated taste. If chinese people run this kitchen they should be ashamed of thereself’s!!! People with good review’s must eva work for this place or eat bland microwave meals as i’d raither go to the chip shop near by or fortune house!

Fantastic Curry Everything we've tried is good but the Curry is excellent

Very good delivery service through galloping gourmet. The duck curry was gorgeous as well as the crispy beef, All dishes we have ordered were tasty and the portions were just right.

I recommended this place to a friend this evening after previously ordering from here when I lived in Worcester for uni. I have to say I was very disappointed - 'spicy chicken wings that arrived covered in salt and dunked in grease, no sign of spice whatsoever. A beef and broccoli in garlic sauce which again had the consistency of a tub of lard, and some chicken balls that tasted like a stale chip pan. Even more disappointing considering the near on 2hr wait we had for delivery by galloping gormet after being told it would be within the hour. Definitely won't be ordering from or recommending here again!

Ordered quarter crispy aromatic duck and a large chicken chow mein. Crispy duck was well cooked and plenty of it ... the cucumber and spring onion just right and the pancakes (albeit in a pre-packed bag) were thin and authentic. The chow mein was very tasty ... could have done with some peppers maybe.
