China City in Worcester

The food was good once it arrived apart from the sweet and sour chicken balls that were very hard and crunchy. The main issue I have is that we had to wait and hour and a half to receive our food delivery and when we called twice there were no apologies and just a load of excuses. We probably won’t use these guys again I’m afraid 👎

Tonight was my first visit. Would I go again absolutely yes. The staff were friendly and gracious. Food delicious. Portions were more than ample and cost was fair. The staff work very hard.

Way too much salt. Pink chicken. Disappointing.

Food was great But…delivery driver claimed he had no change and we didn’t either. After a few minutes he remembered he had change but not the correct amount. We ended up paying £3 extra. What a robbery!! I even left delivery instructions when ordering saying we need £7 change. Great food but not happy at all. We may not use again and may advise family and friends not to use too.

Ordered food for 8 people. Everything was hot and delicious. Took 1hr but we ordered early as it was a Saturday night. Really delicious food and great menu to choose from

Absolute joke ordered a special curry an fried rice an half in each tin for 12.70 wont be ordering from there again

Ordered food for the first time. Absolutely beautiful - well cooked, tasty, very good portions, reasonably priced. What a feast we had! I would highly recommend it. Food arrived very quickly and it was still hot. Thank you so much China City Worcester! I will order again very soon :)

So good to enjoy a quality Chinese meal that was cooked with care. The vegetables and peppers were not the usual mush you get from some places and cooked perfectly. My primary takeaway, I have been a regular customer, Food Always delicious But prices, and the size are outrageous, it has changed a lot for what we use to get and pay. We use to buy at least different portions, now I'll be lucky if I manage to get 4 portions. Shame

Like others not happy with delivery time! An hour and half on a Wednesday night? Not good. I'm sure we used to get free prawn crackers as well that I was looking forward to but none arrived.

Great food but waiting times these last 12 months are getting much longer. Expect to wait 2 hours for a delivery and expect to wait more than 20 mins to collect food. When you phone always told with the driver on its way but it isn't when the driver arrives they advise you only just collected 2 hours after ordering at 5pm. Shame need to improve on the service. Won't be rushing back very disappointed.

Have been loyal customers here for maybe 9 years, we do not live this end of the city and I do collect when possible and spend £30 a week, it's the weekly highlight. And as weeks go by progressively longer delivery is taking maybe 90 minutes, so always try to order in good time, sometimes 5:30 for a 7:30 delivery Tonight I've made 3 calls over 2 hours later and told.. its on its way... its 9pm and not even here! I've had to cancel the order as they have admitted they haven't even started cooking it. I am absolutely dissapponted, maybe restrict the orders for 10 minutes to catch up. My 12yo extremely dissapponted... Thanks China City

Had a special curry last week. Loved it - great taste and plenty of duck, beef, chicken and prawns. Back for more this week!

We ordered food and delivery should of been 30=45 minutes but it took over 2 hours to arrive. Every time we phoned we were told it was with the driver !! Which meant the driver had our food for an hour before it was delivered

We have been loyal customers to this restaurant fir years. During covid they faced challenges like any other fast food outlet. However the last few times we have been waiting 2 hours or more for our order. We live less than 19 minutes away. Totally unacceptable and many of our friends no longer order from them its 3working days to get your refund

Waited over an hour for food, when we rang to ask how long food would be they told us the food had been cooked and ready for 20 mins they were just waiting on a driver… almost another hour later we still had no food, meaning our food had been sat waiting going cold for along time. Paid almost £100 for a group order… food never arrived , very disappointed will never order from here again

Best Chinese around!! Fantastic food, brilliant value for money

The food is always great - however a 2hr+ wait for food is completely ludicrous. Every other takeaway in Worcester can deliver within an hour, even on a busy Saturday night… Something is obviously desperately wrong with the organisation of this takeaway. I’ve been ordering from here for 7+ years, but after the latest in a string of orders that has taken over 2 hours, I won’t be ordering from here again.

Shredded chicken has never seen a chicken, the egg fried rice contains no egg. Multiple dishes went in the bin, very very disappointed. Ruined our weekend in Worcester! Anyone who thinks this place is even remotely satisfactory needs to get out more!!!!

Over 2.5 hours for a meal. When I called after 1.5 hours the couldn't say how much longer they would take. If they can't cope with the orders they should stop taking them and deal with the ones that they have. If you cancel it takes 3 days to get you money back. The last time that this happened I promised not to use them again, I defiantly wont be using them again. Used to be a good takeaway now they are just grabbing the money and taking customers for fools. If I could have given no star I would have.

we are soooo disappointed with the service and attitude we have received from what is usually our favourite Chinese this happened previously but gave them the benefit of the doubt in these Covid times but the lack of communication is terrible, we waited 2 hours and food never arrived we rang to check and was told it hasn't even been started yet 😢 "got a back log of 30 orders and not enough delivery drivers" is not good customer service! so very very angry and will NOT order again!

ordered at 6.19pm on 31/10/20 email stated 19.50pm for delivery chased it up at 20.15pm to be told it would be another 40 mins not acceptable so cancelled our order and went else where if you cant keep to your delivery times contact your customers and advise them as nearly 3 hours for delivery is ridiculous for any takeaway.

Real shame, food normally good but a 2.5 hour wait is not good. Ordered at 7.15 on Saturday night. They rang at 8.15 to say it would be a further 1.5 hrs. By this time couldn't cancel as we'd have to wait if we went somewhere else .... why not call when we ordered to say it would be 2.5 hrs for noodles??!! Poor show.

Just had the most disgusting special chow mein, £6.90. I was the only customer so it ought to have been perfect. The chicken was like rubber, and the vegetables too. It all lacked any taste or texture. My advice, give the place a wide berth.

First time using this takeaway as visiting the area. Ordered online at 7pm. Rang at 8.25 to ask where food was and told on its way. Arrived 1 minute later. But I expected it to be slow as was 7pm on Saturday night. Food was amazing and so much of it. Very tasty, well cooked and piping hot. Have recommended to rest of family here and will use again.

1st time ordering from China City. Placed order online and they rang me straightaway to say it was incredibly busy & it would be 2 hour delivery, OK. Arrived within about 1hr 15mins, lovely polite girl who left order on the doorstep & moved away. Fabulous food, incredible salt & pepper squid. Will definitely use again. Highly recommend.

For a Chinese takeaway outside London s Chinatown, this is one of the best I've had, lovely fresh ingredients, tasty sauces (in fact... Its the first sweet and sour sauce I've really enjoyed) I have recently moved to Worcester and will be coming again :-) very happy customer. We had rice dishes and spicy hot sezchuan tofu - I can recommend it!

For what it is....I.e. for those thinking more, it isn't fine dining. However, it is a great chinese takeaway that serves up just what you need when you need it. The food is always tasty. Temperature correct and gives you that satisfaction that only chinese food can. Keep it up China city.

This is usually our favourite Chinese and has been for years. Unfortunately, had a different dish to usual tonight and cut in to what is clearly uncooked chicken. It smelt a bit odd too. I won’t be able to eat here again!

This is my favourite Chinese takeaway in Worcester. It's open long hours, the prices are low, the staff are always fairly competent and the food is always served promptly - and is piping hot. My only recommendation would be that more vegetarian dishes are introduced. In particular, I swear by mushroom fried rice and mushroom noodles. Neither of these dishes are on the menu here, though perhaps they could be prepared with advanced notice.

This has been my local for a good 10 years and although I’m not what you’d call a “regular” it’s always been my go to place when ever I’ve fancied Chinese food. In the 10 years I’ve been going there, they’ve gotten my order wrong once. Every time I go, the service is extremely friendly and quick and the food is delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food in the local area

Very fast service food always spot on and tasty. Love the salted chilli chicken bites! Good value for money and good portion size. Sometimes delivery can be slow so we always collect.

Very bland, had alot of take away Chinese but this is definitely the worst I've tasted. The rice is just boiled rice mixed with something yellow to replicate egg, and the chicken cashew had plenty of cashews but the chicken was strange and watery. Chips and spring rolls were nice but main meal is in the bin.

Ignore all of these basically dikheads leaving 1 star reviews. This is a very good Chinese and I'm picky like most. The girls are always polite and the food is always fresh not greasy and always tastes great. The chips are also first class. Always on time and always the correct order highly recommend.

Just had chicken with ginger and a portion of plain chow main... 25% of which was pure onion. Poor value for money... but quick and easy... cheap and cheerful comes to mind!

Not been in years did today & remembered why I hadn’t . Called 430pm (when they opened)&ordered. They said 5 minutes. Allowing for the BS factor I turn up in 10. Nobody in place, yet they clearly hadn’t even started cooking it. Then starter 3 TINY spring rolls (not 4 as per menu). No parking. Dirty. Mainly a good place for drunks to hang out once the pub shuts-no good for food though

Ordered at 7.30 on a Tuesday night. Was told delivery would be 45 mins. After 50 mins I phoned up and asked if the food was on its way and I was told it hadn't been cooked yet as they were waiting for the delivery driver. I asked how long it would be and was told maybe 20 minutes maybe 30. Will not be ordering with them again

terrible customer service on the phone, all i asked was what chicken dishes were available because they didnt do fried chicken. i will not be ordering from this place.

One of the WORST customer services I've EVER experienced. They were so rude and even the people on the phone did nothing to help when I told them about the delivery drivers, they said "what do you expect me to do about it". Such a shame because the food is so lovely, can't say much for the poorly mannered staff. Never eating from here again.

Ordered late for delivery as finished work late. Ordered 2 currys, rice, chips and chicken balls. Chicken balls and rice were ok but both curries had half an inch if oil/grease/fat floating on the top. Rang up to express my disappointment and all the woman said was 'I'll let my boss know' then hung up. Will not be ordering from there again and wouldn't recommend it. Also, the beef in the curry was tough. Not happy!

Our usual Chinese takeaway was closed so tried China city. One of the nicest chicken and mushroom curries I have had in a long time. The driver was very apologetic upon delivery for being late but it was within an hour. So in our eyes not late at all. Will definitely try these guys again. Thank you very much 😊

Waited hour and a half when food got delivered the driver said the food had come out of the packaging and gone everywhere in the bag. To be honest it looked like it had been thrown about!! He said to ring up and explain and they should send you another meal ASAP so I did. The lady on the phone explained it would be another hour as they have no drivers!! I said that would be too long as my partners meals would get cold. I then asked for my money back to which she put me on hold then unholded me to which they started speaking in their own language which I found very rude. She then said I could have a free meal next time to which I declined. The lady finally agreed to a refund of both mine and my partner meals but we would have to wait 45 minutes for the money to get to us!! Fingers crossed me get the money back!! We always order from China City but I think from now on I will take my customer elsewhere. Very Disappointing.

Very Very disappointed tonight with my meal, have used this takeaway for years, but over the last 6 - 12 months, it has really gone down hill, will not be using it again. Have had 2 previous disappointing meals, but decided to give them one last chance to win back my custom, BIG MISTAKE, bbq spare ribs, no meat on them, all fat.....sweet and sour sauce did not even taste of s/s tasted more like bbq, strange seeing as we ordered bbq also, egg fried rice dry and clumped together.....could go on and on about my last 3 takeaways, but l am sure they acknowledge the quality of the food when they cook it!!! so they are fully aware of the quality they are providing. Such a shame as for years their food, delivery, and customer service has been great, Good things never last.

This is a good little take-away to know, especially on Tuesdays as all food (apart from set meals & fish and chips) are half the marked price if you collect in person, hence it does get very crowded on this days (and if you order for delivery it may take a while!). Fish and Chips are good overall quality (though I found the Cod a little too on the greasy side on one occasion- it was huge though) as is the Chinese food. They also do a limited range of Thai and Malaysian food.
