Normally, we love this place. Best quality and all that stuff. However, their prices for a plate of salad (mostly leaves) have now risen to £16. An increase of about 20% in just a few months. If it had been good value for money the review would be at least 4 stars but as it was mostly salad leaves it's just a 3 star review.

Horrid experience with uncaring rude owner who did not care at all I was ill for a week after eating her food. Got aggressive instead of apology. If you want kind smiley staff and fantastic produce, we found several amazing places the next day. These places knew how to run a business, provide service they get paid for, were extremely well organized and did not make excuses every 5 seconds about being inadequate with food choice and supply. Recommend you look elsewhere just like us ;-)

Asked if the soup contained garlic, the sweet serving girl checked and said yes there is. Asked if anything on the menu doesn’t contain garlic? Lady in charge bluntly replied ‘No’. We left.

Great food and friendly staff. The salad plates are SO nice! A great alternative to going to a pub for lunch - fresh, tasty food at a decent price and service with a smile.

Sadly the lunch was disappointing - the soup was blended like baby food, the cutlery dirty. Very over-priced and the staff are not that friendly. In no rush to hurry back when there are so many amazing independent cafes in Cirencester offering a better menu choice. The food is the shop is very expensive too. The only lovely part is the surroundings which you cannot fault.

We visit the farm shop once a week and buy a lot from them for our daily needs which includes vegetables, fruit, cheese and other things like buckwheat noddles, bin bags. We have regularly a coffee and a cake and often lunch. This year, I bought for the first time also plants in Spring time which were a nice addition to my existing plants in the garden. I also visited the Open Fay in June. The entire atmosphere is enjoyable and inspiring.I love the shop, the cafe and the Indian department. The staff are always friendly. This farm shop is a different world.

Ideal place to go if you like vegetarian food I think. Im not vegetarian but they do know how to make vegetables taste good. My favourite was their beetroot and fennel gratin! The only time they serve meat is on Sunday which is equally good. Friendly staff and lovely views of their farm completes the experience.

I love Abbey Farm shop. The shop is in two parts. One is food. The other is products from India - primarily beautiful fabrics, bedlinen etc ( Rani fairtrade cottons). The food shop is fabulous, with many of the products produced on the farm ( vegetable, fruit, dairy products including cheese and yoghurt, bread, and all kinds of meat, hams and sausages). Considering the superb quality and freshness, plus the fairtrade nature of everything in the shop, the prices are very competitive. The staff are relaxed and very helpful and friendly. They clearly enjoy working there. The cafe is good, with a very attractive seating area overlooking the wonderful farm. Abbey Home farm is an absolute inspiration. Being there is like entering a perf3ct world : sustainable food production, high animal welfare stamdards, fairtrade ethis and a happy and friendly staff. Inwish our politicians would take a leaf out of the farm’s book. Instead, I suspect they go to Dalesford. Well done Abbay. Home farm.

Some things great, others… not so much. Expensive food shop, but quality really high (mostly) so that’s fine. The cafe is very expensive for what it is, and on,y just manages to make you feel it’s justified. The whole thing feels slightly amateurish but not in a wholly charming way. Worth it for a coffee or bowl of soup but I’d suggest you first managed expectations. Not allowing dogs is a real shame.

It should be so good but it’s not. There is always a queue for food and the staff seem a bit hapless and seem to have little initiative but I feel maybe they are not allowed to. Having had a poor experience a few times I would put this down to poor training and management. The shop is good but there is a sign at the till saying “ no returns” .some of the clothes are quite expensive so it put puts me off buying anything. This could be a lovely place to visit and we keep coming back hoping. Please get your act together.

We were visiting with our friends from the Cotswolds. It was a disappointing experience. There are a number of aspects that were poor. The meat was ringed throughout with fat similar to pork belly and there was no crackling. We expected a nice premium loin of pork. Other diners also left fatty meat on the side of their plates. The carrots were hard and the potatoes were not properly roasted or browned. The gravy was glutinous which was not pleasant. For a premium priced roast this fell well short of expectations. The apple crumble deserts were poorly presented with a tiny blob of cream.

We're regular visitors to the Cotswolds, and one of the highlights of our visits is always this lovely shop. The cafe had been closed for all our previous visits due to Covid, and we've been looking forward to it re-opening, as the shop and farm produce is all such consistently good quality, and ethically sourced. We weren't disappointed: I had a delicious curry, and my partner enjoyed an enormous plate of mixed salads. It's the kind of food you feel healthier for just looking at! Full of good things, but also really hearty and satisfying. It's a lovely environment, with a natural but colourful vibe, overlooking the farmland where most of the food comes from. The service is always good as well - though this isn't fast food, and is priced accordingly. This is the kind of business that deserves subsidies to help it with the education that's part of the enterprise, and making organic food available and affordable for everyone who wants it. We went for a walk afterwards around the farm trail, though some lovely woodland and the edges of rolling fields. It's interesting to read the story of this farm, which was clearly way ahead of the game in combining tasty food with care for the land and climate. I'm already looking forard to being back in July, sitting outside the cafe with a plate of good food, and walking the farm trail again.

Went to the Organic Farmshop cafe on Sunday for lunch, vegetable and blue cheese crumble with mixed salad which was gorgeous. The cafe has only just reopened after the Covid shutdown and it is excellent, only a few options offered but still difficult to choose and all sourced from the farm itself, you can actually see where your lunch is grown. No Sunday roast on but as nearly every other establishment offers a Sunday roast for me that is a good thing. Would highly recommend a visit.

We just wanted to thank you sincerely for a fabulous job done in a horrendous year. At the start of this pandemic the farm shop was at what can only be described as a lifeline for those of us who needed to shield. Since reopening it has been a pleasure to continue shopping and buying their many ready meals and cake and breads; not least thanks to your vigilant action to ensure that both shoppers and staff abide by the safety rules first and foremost and not simply put the sale first. This organic shop is second to none and gets a five star plus rating from us. Very best of everything in 2021 and please please keep up your sterling great work. Whilst the restaurant foods are only available for takeouts etc at the moment they are as good as you can get!

If you want slow service, expensive and bland food then this is the place. Soup was particularly horrible. Not very clean and a sense of righteousness from staff that was unjustified. We visited today for the first time, hoping to find a nice place fairly near, to use as a regular stop off. Being gluten and dairy intolerant I really had high expectations of this organic eatery. Sadly our experience from start to finish was a huge disappointment. The staff bark at you, customer service is zero out of ten. The food was overpriced and tasteless - the only option I was given was a chocolate brownie which was so dry, it felt like tasteless sawdust in the mouth. Thank goodness for the small amount of raspberry sauce and vegan icecream which was needed. Portion size was dismal and price was extortionate - £17 for a tea a coffee and 2 dry brownies. I give praise when praise is due (read my other reviews if you like), but this cafe does not get rated at all, not for service and not for food. Such a shame, it could be so much better. We will not return.

We could not manage more than a flying (toilet stop) visit unfortunately because dogs are not allowed out of the car park. On a hot sunny day it’s clearly not safe to leave any dog in a car. There is a nice looking cafe and outside pic nic tables but according to the owner they have had issues with people not picking up theirs doge mess and one of the farms sheep being attacked in the past. I understand both concerns but it is sad, and we visit many working farms with thriving shops that manage to be dog friendly. Shame because the shop looked nice. The score would have been higher if we didn’t have a dog in tow with us!

Always good for a Sunday roast! Meat and vegan options available, and they are very good at catering for food allergies. They even had a most fantastic vegan pudding today, chocolate and peanut brownie with booja booja ice cream. It’s rare that I find a dairy free pudding, other than a sorbet! There was some degree of stress as I couldn’t reserve a pudding when we ordered the main but thankfully they weren’t sold out. Lovely atmosphere, although most families do appear to have one level of speaking, very loud, and their child are allowed to be somewhat ‘free spirited’. It’s nice in the summer as there is a quiet outside space to site to escape all the noise and ‘chaos’ inside. However the food more than makes up for these blips, especially if you can just tune it all out.

We decided to try the spiced spinach (& cauliflower?) soup. It's nice that you can choose portion size, we paid £4.95 for the smallest portion which was plenty for a light lunch, presented well, with very tasty bread and butter on the side. Coffee good too. Afterwards we browsed the shop and bought some 'fill your own container' (well, we bought a screw top 1 litre bottle for the purpose for £1 plus cost of milk) not tried yet to see if we can taste the difference from normal supermarket bought milk! We bought a home grown cucumber which tastes delicious and a bag of beef bones so I could make my own broth which I did and it tastes wonderful. I would go back again with a friend who loves farms and farms shops. The only thing I didn’t like were the flies. They had lots flying around the chopping boards and on the bread display where the breads were not covered up. Luckily the cakes were on a glass cake stand. The shop was aware of the flies and had the usual fly light. I know this time of year they are quite bad but it would if put me off buying a sandwich.

After the first couple of visits though, we figured that we had to arrive bang on 12pm when they start taking orders, if not the queue builds up fast as the person taking the orders also has to make the drinks. Definitely worth a visit to sample some imaginative and very tasty vegetarian food, even if you're not a vegetarian! But be prepared to wait at busy times. Just one staff member taking orders, doing coffees and handling the money meant (for us) a 20 min. queue to order lunch and another 10 at the table waiting for the food to arrive. Plus an additional 10 mins to re-queue for coffee afterwards (rather than have this go cold at the table, or be finished before the meals arrived). Just about acceptable given the quirky and individual environment, but how much better if the service was a tad snappier...

Very disappointing cafe - it seems like it should be a nice place, and maybe they were just having a bad day. There was a rather unexciting vegetarian menu, so I ordered the jacket potato with cheese. It arrived after about 30 minutes – two medium-sized cold baked potatoes, a dab of butter, a generous helping of good cheddar and a scrap of salad slapped on the side. I asked if the potato was supposed to be hot, and the staff were very apologetic and rushed off to deal with it, kindly offering a consolatory slice of bread in the meantime. After a further 20 minutes or so, I got two new rather small and partially cooked potatoes that were just faintly warm, with cheese, no butter and a bit of salad.

We visited for lunch between Christmas and New Year. We were a party of 7 (4 adults and 3 young children). The food was amazing and full of flavour (and met with the approval of the vegan in our party and all the children). Afterwards we went around the farm shop and bought some lovely organic vegetables and some of the best wholemeal bread I've ever eaten.

When I posted a review last Sunday after a second disappointing lunch it seems to have disappeared into thin air. This is a delightful establishment with a lot going for it and whilst I would love to say something positive about my eating experience, sorry I can't. It was what it was. Service soooo slow, food very expensive and not particularly memorable. This is my second attempt to record my experience and I do hope it will be printed. If you don't acknowledge the problem, you can't address it!

A nice little shop and restaurant with a range of organic ingredients and imaginative menu. On a very relaxed day we walked a short woodland route. A nice unhurried afternoon.

We had travelled up to this Organic Farm Shop mainly to buy Organic food, but we're also looking forward to some lunch. Perhaps I should have rang to find out they were dog friendly, I could find nothing on their website about dogs.I went in the shop and asked if they would allow a dog into the restaurant and the answer was no. Having spent a week in Cornwall where nearly all places accept dogs I had been optimistic but the most surprising thing was yet to come. I returned to my car some 50 yards away were my wife and dog were waiting to find a man with an officious nature had stopped his car and told my wife she must keep the dog in the car and not go any nearer the shop. We could not even sit outside the shop on tables provided and drink a coffee with the dog. After driving six hours in our car to get there to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The Organic produce was good. I can't comment on either coffee or food.

Stopped for quick bite to eat. Ordered a small bowl of soup and a pre-made salad - took almost 20 minutes. It was not busy. When it did arrive it tasted good.

This isn't posh and it isn't fast, but the food is worth making a special journey for. The food is vegetarian, except on Sundays, and most of it is grown on their own farm. The combination of salads is delicious, and there is a small choice of items e.g. quiche, pizza etc to go with the salads. Take your time, and enjoy the meal and the informal surroundings.

My husband treated me to a birthday lunch here last week, as I love the place but we live too far away to eat here regularly. They serve vegetarian meals from Tuesday-Saturday, then "carnivorous" Sunday Roast dinners, using meat from the farm. While neither OH nor I are vegetarians, the food here is so good we always go during the week. OH had a mushroom burger with cheese, while I had cheese and spinach quiche. Both were served with a selection of delicious and unusual salads. It's very hard to choose from the selection of cakes here as they're all delicious, but I usually have the carrot cake as it's the only place I've found which doesn't slap on that awful sickly frosting. The only reason I haven't given this cafe a 5 is because the portions have definitely shrunk in size over the past couple of years, but then a)you're paying for quality, organic food, b)it's a business, not a food bank. They've got to make a profit and c) I'm a gannet, anyway.

Place not easy to find if you follow your sat nav - you will most likely have to turn around and then go left on the roundabout - drive until you see the sign advertising the cafe/farm - from memory i think it might be a first right after the roundabout. Anyway, the place is different , kind of a rural mini version of WholeFoods. not quite, but it definitely have got the similar fill to it. very quirky, with some good selection of ogranic food , including fresh meats from the farm - fress or frozen - if we lived locally i would definitely but meat/chicken from there. they also have got a section selling indian fabrics, ornaments, some furniture, mirrors, gifts, a bit of mixed bag of cool things. We stopped for lunch having read some good reviews and i must say food was lovely. soup with bread delish, my main course was really nice and full of flavour , although i would say maybe a bit to expensive for what it was ( cooked veg with some mashrom and potatoes). on the other hand - if its organic, and mostly came from the farm, prepared properly and fresh - why not to pay a full price ? we tend to pay a fortune for a 5 day old sandwich from the shop that travelled miles prepared in the factory but complain that we pay a littl emore for a proper food ? anyway, woudl try them again for a different dish. i think if the owners gave the place more TLC escpecially in food offering area - it could be a very thriving place.

This is a great place to stock up on your organic supplies when you don't have wholefoods on your doorstep and the fact that they grow most of their fresh produce and you can see it before you come in makes it great though the BIG down side is it is VERY expensive, sadly takes the ability of shopping here weekly out of the budget, shame as it is now most definitely more of a very rare stop if passing and haven't got time to go to the normal priced food shop. The restaurant too is good but also expensive for what you get, we left hungry and came home and made a sandwich!

Traveled with my family to the shop for lunch. Good food but must say it is really for the vegetarian. Pizza not worth buying as it only had cheese and tomatoes on, small slice as well. For the very conscious eater and organic lover, this will be heaven' For me as a meat eater, not so good.

I love this place. I have tried many options but always revert back to my favourite, a plate of mixed salad with hummus. The combinations are fascinating and often inspiring. The place is informal, relaxed and the circular walk is a great way to work off the cake. I also shop here and the quality of the produce is amazing. No gimmicky two for one offers, no unnecessary packaging, free parking - beats supermarket shopping.

Enjoyed a very good Sunday lunch, all food on plate great, maybe a little more generous serving of veggies , but we are a family who eat lots of veggies. Then enjoyed a lovely walk along permitted paths. Agree with other reviewers a little pricey, but would return, good quality food. Serving staff very pleasant and helpful, but a smile from person taking orders would have been appreciated. There are many notices of do s and don't s around.Shop well worth a browse ...good selection of wheat/ gluten free products

The food here is incredible (a bit expensive, but understandable) and the design of the place is really attractive; I love all the Indian touches and looking around the shop after eating here. However, the cafe is very rules-oriented (lots of signs about where children can/can't go, and you can't even feed a baby with baby food from home, you have to buy it in the shop) and the staff are not very friendly. I've eaten here a number of times in the last few months (with family and with friends, never with children) and as a general rule the staff are unsmiling and abrupt... as a polite paying customer, I don't enjoy feeling like an inconvenience, and this is starting to put me off going back, despite the really great aspects of the food and shop, and the wonderful ethos.

Wanted to like this place more. Plenty of parking, outside space for children, good farm shop with good quality food. The coffee at the cafe was not made well, too hot and burnt and slow. The veg stew was ok and the nut roast bland. The staff are friendly and I'd come back for one of the salads.

I travel miles for a salad during the week. The cafe is warm and has a relaxed atmosphere. It might be good to give the building a bit of a face lift as they don't look anything like the photos on the website. I repeat that the food is excellent.

Having been here a few times last winter and enjoyed the warmth of their log fire and the selection of cakes, we decided to cycle there for more of the same yesterday. What a disappointment. Despite it being a very cold day the fire wasn't lit which was an unwelcome surprise. It was busy, but not massively so and there appeared to be plenty of staff so quite why a simple order of toast and jam took well over 30 minutes to arrive is a mystery. My companion ordered a banana milkshake (also quite a wait but nowhere near as long as the toast!) - this came in a very small glass and was nothing more than frothed milk which tasted of banana, disappointing and poor value for £3. In summary, we left dissatisfied and colder than we had arrived, not really what you need when you have another 20 odd miles to cycle home. Needless to say we won't bother to return - plenty of alternatives in the area.

We come here for the food whenever we can, and we are never disappointed. It is relaxed and informal, and not posh. In the past the service has been quite slow, but they seemed to have extra help in the food preparation area, and our food came quite quickly, even though they were busy. The food as always was a lovely combination of vegetarian lasagne (we got the last two pieces) and a wonderful selection of home grown salads. Food options tend to start running out after about 1pm, so try and get there early.

This place is very useful to know about. They always have something vegan offer. It's very popular and I had to queue for 15 minutes and then wait for the soup and bread for a further 15 minutes. Really that was too much waiting but the food was enjoyable and warm. Water is available from a serve yourself area which is very welcome. Staff all seemed very polite and helpful DESPITE the fact that they were obviously very busy. I plan to return! Not cheap!

My partner and I had Sunday lunch here on the recommendation of a friend. The cafe is fairly basic with a mix of tables and metal chairs. However it has a pleasant relaxed feel and is popular with locals. The cafe serves one type of meat and only on Sundays, the rest of the week it is fully vegetarian. Our meat choice was organic chicken with apricot stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, cheesy leeks and kale. There was a generous amount of tasty chicken and the vegetables were also full of flavour and not overcooked and the portions were adequate. My partner had the chocolate brownie desert which he said was very good. For the quality of food served it is very good value. The Farm Shop is well worth a browse too!

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.

The service was terrible…. a bunch of young girls who appeared to want to be elsewhere. We ordered tea and scones. We drank the tea and still no scones. When we asked about them we were rudely told “it’s coming” and she made no effort to check on them. They came 5 minutes later. We could see other people being treated as an inconvenience and being unhappy. Disappointing in a lovely village where everyone else is so friendly.
