The fish was soggy and for the first time in my 76 years I was charged £1 for a SMALL JUG of hot water. Very disappointed

The pricing is, frankly, outrageous. £9.95 for a 2-rasher bacon sandwich (on un-buttered bread) is eye watering, and honestly a bit disappointing. The bacon itself was nice but when a Full English is £11.95 you have to question the value. When asked staff simply said “well it’s that much for a BLT so it’s the same”, except, that would come with lettuce and tomato. £1.90 for a babyccinno is fair enough, charging £1.50 on top for a bit of squirty cream is taking the p***. I don’t expect I’d be welcome back anyway, but for what it’s worth I would not eat here again.

First visit today, ordered 2 coffees, 1 piece of cake, I toasted tea cake. Toasted tea cake came about 10 mins before my piece of cake, and the cakes. My friend had eaten her tea cake before we had the coffee, when to say something manager acted as if we said something wrong 😡. Terrible service, plates where taken away without asking how rude. Live reasonably locally will not be going back.

Peaceful environment. Really quick service. Food tasted great and drinks were served quickly. Had the vegan blueberry pancakes (1 of 3 vegan options) and they were delicious and my partner had the all day breakfast which they were happy to amend for extra hash browns- which were nice and crispy. Definitely would visit again.

Just had lunch with my friends at the orangery and it was lovely highly recommended and the atmosphere great, only let down was the staff member that brought out food out she just dumped our food down on our table mumbling to herself and when said thank you and how lovely it was she just ignored us and when I had just finished my meal when my friends hadn't she just took my plate before I finished my last mouthful and lent over when we were in the middle of a conversation which I didn't like 😑

Arrived here this afternoon to take my mum & dad for a nice coffee & meal. Driven quite far out of our way to come here as it looked lovely. However, on arriving it was absolutely freezing inside. The Christmas shop was so built up you could barely get a buggy through let alone walk hand in hand with your child. Don't get me wrong wrong displays were lovely but it just made the experience very claustrophobic. As we made it through to the café the place was really untidy. Food on the floor, unclean tables, a number of tables unserviced & everyone eas dat there in their coats. It was uncomfortably cold. You don't expect to come somewhere like this for coffee & food & sit there eating it with your coat on. Even the poor people trying to enjoy their afternoon tea looked cold sat in there coats. It was enough to turn us around immediately & go to a nearby pub where it was toasty warm with a view (The Fishers's Pond). So we didn't taste the food but everything else appeared poor we didn't risk it. I understand it is winter but it was actually 7°c today which I'd much warmer than yesterday so you would expect some.kind of heating to be installed for the winter months to make diners experience a comfortable one.q

Gorgeously decorated interior and friendly staff. The raspberry and chocolate cake was super delicious with a gorgeous fudgy texture, the tangy raspberry splashes throughout were divine! There was a tiny piece of coffee cake left which was perfect for my smaller appetite. The lady on the till offered it to me at a reduced cost which I was so pleased about. The coffee was so delicious and beautifully presented. We didn't have a table number when we ordered so said we would wait and carry our own cake and coffee to a table outside, a friendly waiter said he'd find us anyway and brought it out which was a lovely touch from him! Unfortunately the wasps were out in force today which made sitting in the garden not quite as relaxing as I can imagine it could be. The staff were on top of clearing tables to help with this problem too which was amazing to see! Would be better to have availability of menus a little clearer when arriving.

I’ve been here 3 times; the first time was the best experience for me. The food was fab, great atmosphere and a lovely shop. The two other times were not so good. Today my food was greasy and I had brown lettuce which considered the price one does not expect that at all. As a whole, we enjoy visiting mainly for the atmosphere and because of the bird aviary which overlooks the dining area. We didn’t have any cake today but the display looked amazing!

Came here for some lunch with my boyfriend. We both ordered the chicken burger which upon arrival looked lovely but unfortunately it was very dry with a lack of sauce. We weren’t given any cutlery and also when we asked for salt, pepper and mayonnaise to my surprise they came back over with sachets of it all. I’d expect better quality from a place like this but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the standards.

Stunning location with so much potential i think that's why people get so frustrated because they can see what it could be. When i arrived no one was at the entrance to show us to a table which would be a nice touch to make the experience more personal, possibly a manager so that they can see who's coming in as there is no line of site to the entrance from the counter/kitchen. Sat at a table which was sticky and had crumbs all over it no one came over to offer to wipe it down and no cutlery was brought over. Had a smoothie which was lovely and a chicken burger which arrived quickly when served we weren't offered sauces and had to ask for cutlery. Burger was very dry and overcooked with a very light smearing of harissa Mayo, chips where nice though. Sauces arrived we got 4 sachets of Mayo between us when you're charging nearly £20 a head 2 sachets doesn't really cut it especially when the food is so dry perhaps some sauce bottles, salt and pepper grinders and a pot for cutlery and napkins placed on the tables and also water jugs with glasses would nice. No one came to ask us if everything was okay even though there seemed to be over 10 people working with only about 5 tables in. Sorry for all the negativity just frustrating to see such an amazing venue produce such poor quality service.

We had a lovely lunch here with the family, my only complaint is there should be a choice of bread option for toasties. I had bacon brie and cranberry, which was delicious but had to have it on ciabata bread, which is a harder tougher bread. Alot of people opt for brown bread now, when eating bread apart from that it was lovely

A lovely place to have a slice of homemade cake & a cup of coffee or tea. Lots of parking, Disabled access, although going through the shop might be a bit tricky as some of the walk ways seem quite narrow. They have a shop full of housewares, a few plush toys, a very small aviary, compact garden centre, & an aquarium right next door. High chairs for little ones, but if your child is feeling particularly boisterous they could easily break something in the shop, as there are many breakable items within child reach, best to take them out to the garden centre much more room & out in the fresh air! But be prepared to dig deep as it's quite pricey here.

Absolutely awful experience here today. We used to love coming here (even though they are ALWAYS difficult about accommodating diabetic dietary needs with swapping items) but today out breakfast was appalling. Sausages undercooked, pink right through the middle on my sons plate, slobbery bacon, untoasted toast, and a pile of rocket so huge, presumably making it look like a generous helping of food. We got a refund for the breakfasts, although we didn’t refund the drinks even though we didn’t get the chance to drink them. Apparently, according to the lady who took our order, the chef doesn’t like it when you are diabetic and ask to swap out the carbs, as it’s too long a receipt that comes through to the kitchen, and he gets flustered. Well I’m afraid if you’re paying £12 for a cooked breakfast I would expect the food offering to be worth what we paid. This really needs to change. We will never go back! A massive case of style over substance.

Sadly, the food is over priced and poor quality. The service is also questionable. You definitely get the feel that the owners are trying to make it high end, but you definitely don't get this. The cafe area is also quite grubby. Such a shame as if could be really nice. My personal experience, I ordered the eggs benedict, it came to me with a huge hair on it. Quaint little cafe which is well decorated. We went in for a tea and the hope of a tasty treat. It was good to see they has gluten free options, but alas, we are also dairy intolerant and there wasn't an option for us - often the case as it's a very niche set of intolerances. It wasn't particularly busy and some tables had dirty crockery on them the entire time we were there. The high teas looked good - not something we can eat, but they looked good none the less.

We visited the garden centre today, and the Orangery looked like a nice place to get a light lunch. I hasn't read the reviews beforehand, which was a big mistake. When we ordered we were told that there might be a little wait for food, but as we had ordered 3 fairly simple dishes we assumed that it shouldn't take THAT long. 45 minutes later, we were still waiting, so asked a waitress if she could find out how long our food was going to be. She came back and said that it's just being plated up, and we would have it soon. Sure enough, it arrived a few minutes later. We then found that 2 of the 3 dishes were cold, which suggests that they had been hanging around in the kitchen for a while (and could have been served sooner). So, in summary, they relieved us of nearly £40, kept us waiting over 45 minutes, and then served 2 cold meals. We won't be going back.

The resteraunt was not busy and there was very few people sat outside. We sat down and ordered a salad, and 2 egg Florentine along with a few iced coffees. The food was overpriced for what we received with the total order coming to £15 per person. It took over an hour and 10 mins for the food to come to the table and no apology was given. They didn't even say sorry for the wait, and we weren't told about a wait in the first place. We weren't offered a discount or refund at all despite the very poor, slow service and subpar food. My daughter treated me to a birthday lunch today at The Orangery, looked a lovely place. I ordered a jacket potato with Brie, cranberry’s and bacon. When it was served up we both remarked at how much bacon was layered on top of potato but seems this was to hide the fact that the potato was old! It was off colour and had a rubbery texture. I sent it back saying sorry but this isn’t quite right… they came back with another plate where potato was fresh and fluffy… I cannot believe how they allowed the first one to be served… even though second one was fresh there was hardly any bacon or cheese served with this one… so potato was rather bland. A young man did come to table to say chef apologises before the second meal got served but no one came up to check meal was ok after we had eaten. Very disappointed and my daughter was very upset as this was her birthday gift to me. Not sure I will return.

Its a fancy small garden centre with a crowded cafe. I had a beef and horse radish baguette, the bread was pretty basic, could have got better in Aldi and it wasn't buttered. Please please please cafes put butter on your sandwiches, it plays the vital role of stopping the bread getting soggy. Also salad wasn't washed and was gritty. Food came before drinks. But cakes when they came were really good. Nice idea, tidy up on the execution....and wash your salad!!!!

Can thoroughly recommend the 'Garden Brunch' from the menu. Houmous on toast may not be everyone's idea of breakfast. But served, as it was here, on sourdough toast and topped with sunflower seeds and gorgeous, juicy, warm roasted cherry tomatoes on their vine, it has become my new guilty pleasure! Fabulous! The lovely surroundings and the friendly staff also make it a great place to meet family and friends.

A beautiful place with a lovely afternoon tea. The staff are very friendly and very welcoming. We can see they are extending their facilities so we shall be going back to see the changes they have made and make a couple of garden purchases

Not great. Left standing around waiting to be seating when eventually a rude woman turned up and told us to just go and find a table... why have us standing around 10 mins only to sit ourselves down and go to til. To be honest I have only eaten here once, pancakes, syrup and bacon. Usually a delicious dish but here overpriced at nearly £8 and just straight out of tesco value packet and into microwave! Syrup was watery too, just look at the photo! Will not return although the cakes on displayed looked lovely.

Loved here, until we went after lockdown and seen that nothing was in line with government guidelines. Tables are stacked as close as possible and was sitting next to strangers. We also had a queue to order food where table service was mandatory.

We have been going to this restaurant/cafe since it was a small family run business. Continued to do so after it had been brought into the 21st century. Always enjoyed the food and experience, pretty interior, plus seating outside. But today, we were treated rudely. On arrival we were ‘told’ to hand bac then find a table before going to order. That was fine. We did and went off to find a table, only to be told that we had been told to wait and she would take us to the table. That was definitely not the case. She intimated that we as were only having coffee and cake, and not a cooked meal (it was only 11.00) ! After we had finished our ‘meal’ she kept peering round the corner at us, obvious wanting is to go. I was tempted to stay to annoy her, but felt bad about other diners waiting to eat so we left. But I think it might be a while before we return.

Social distancing not very good, particularly with children moving around freely and not being reminded of distancing. Tables not cleaned properly between visitors. Fish and chips wasnt great. Fish was like leather and seemed to have been baked. Staff were friendly though.

This place is decorated lovely but think the restaurant is too big for the kitchen to handle. Went there today with family for lunch and waited 50 mins for the food. Would have been helpful to have been told there was a delay with food. We weren't the only ones to be waiting a long time. When food did finally arrive the all day breakfasts were over cooked with a lot of it burnt. Fish wasn't great either, only nice thing was the chips. Been before and food was much better, just don't think they can handle it when its busy. That said the staff were all very busy and the young girl finding people tables was really lovely and very friendly and definitely working hard. I just think the restaurant needs to have a bigger kitchen to cope and definitely needs to be more than one till as takes far too long to order!

Lovely ambience. Great outside space. Beautiful cake(have tried before). But a very long wait, for a £2.95 for flavoured tea in a latte glass, would expect a pot for that price. More staff needed, for drink making, then you'd probably would have a smiling work force. UPDATED and star added SO much quicker service. Breakfasts are perfect size, and a menu that has variety. Coffee lovely and made extra hot as requested. They have had a refurb since last visit , and it's so much nicer and more comfortable. It's a little bit more expensive than a lot of local eateries but on this occasion it was well worth it. The only negative (sorry) is the heating or lack of it in some areas , sort that out and it would be 5star.

Whoever designed this place didn’t factor in customer service over design. Over 20 minutes waiting in a que before we could even order anything and that’s because there is only one till! Aesthetically this place is nice, but it just doesn’t work logistically. When you get to the till you get asked what table you’re sat on, you give the table number but then asked “where is that” you then order your food and then have an order number separate to the table number you’re on. When your food is ready you then have waitresses coming out shouting numbers around cafe like you’re at the deli counter in Sainsbury’s with your food in their hand. It’s just all over the place. Food was ok though, but probably wouldn’t come back again because of the service.

I took my grandparents for lunch at this garden centre and was denied a child's portion of food for my grandmother who has terminal cancer. This was even after explaining her needing it due barley being able to eat because of her Leukaemia treatment. Was just told by the teenager on the till it's 'out of their hands' after conferring with what seemed to be a more senior member of staff. Their reasoning was because I had expressed that it was not for a child. I was clearly upset but tried to keep my cool and told the girl it was not her fault. Meanwhile the other four members of senior staff around her did not bother to help at all whilst clearly hearing every word of the conversation. Extremely infuriating as large portions of food to a cancer patient is too much for them and nauseating. Their attitude toward me was basically that they didn't care one bit. It's a garden centre with 'strict' policies.... I mean get a grip. The food was brought to the table by a waitress about 30-40 years old. My grandfather was extremely upset and reminded the waitress that my grandmother has terminal cancer and large portions of food are extremely off-putting due to nausea from treatment. To which she replied with a rude impatient attitude and absolutely no compassion 'do you want a side plate to push some food off her plate'. To further rub salt into the wound, a waitress then said 'next time just don't say who it's for when ordering' which completely contradicts their whole enforcement of their supposed rule of child portion food, making the entire ordeal pointless. The entire staff seem to be a bunch of bitter, mean spirited women who then made it very apparent that they had awful attitudes toward us for the remainder of the time we were there eating. I never write reviews for restaurants or anywhere in general but I have gone out of my way to write this as I have never experienced such disrespect and down right pathetic behaviour. Their portion sizes are massive and have a 'strict' portion size policy, how is this catering as a garden centre to their main demographic of elderly people? I mean how incompetent can you be as a business and as human beings. I've never experienced such awful behaviour in my life. Just actually imagine having a grandmother with terminal cancer being denied a smaller portion of food at a garden centre.... then being given attitude and disrespect after by the staff.... actually unbelievable. If I could give 0 stars I would. The place deserves to be shut down.

Been three times for breakfast on a Sunday - very long wait - has a tiny kitchen, the cafe area seats a lot of people - they get overwhelmed very quickly and understandably. Cooked breakfast on first visit was lovely and really tasty - we did get there early so it wasn’t too busy. The next time we waited 30 minutes for a salad and eggs Benedict - salad had to be sent back absolutely drowned and swimming in Dressing - the hollandaise sauce was like a thick custard - you could cut it into chunks ..it was later in the day so very busy. Third visit was use as bad. Around £10 - £15 for a meal plus drinks, disappointing ..after 1st visit we thought we had found a little gem to have Sunday brunch ...sadly we haven’t returned.

Some staff are rude, when you order certain things on menu you don't get all that's advertise, for example, thick shake brownie one, you don't have half the Ingredients they say that goes ontop, no broniw pieces or wafer... and other things too. Have told them a number of times and yer to,change it, false advertising on ehat comes in food when you order. Grumpy staff.

The second Wetherspoons I’ve been in out of over 150 that if you order a pint glass of Pepsi Max without ice that it only contains 3/4 of a pint and 1/4 glass of fresh air, sure there’s a law against short measures so as with the other one may I suggest if you want a full pint of drink don’t come here, I certainly won’t be coming here again!

Been to this Toby Carvery twice and had the same experience both times. Very poor. 2 main reasons they are the worst of this chain I have ever visited. Firstly, they clearly run on a skeleton staff to save pennies, but lose pounds as a result. They have 1 (very slow) person serving the meat. This led to a 40 minute queue on the last visit. A week day. Wasn’t even a Sunday. Meaning tables were occupied for longer and them having to turn people away. 40 minutes queuing is unacceptable. Secondly, because of the wait the food goes stale. They also seem to offer less than their usual offering. Take my advice, go to a different Toby or somewhere local offering a good roast. One redeeming factor was the waiting staff were nice.

This is my new ‘go to’ Chinese takeaway in Chandler’s Ford. The food is tasty, piping hot and flavoursome. Not had a bad meal and have been using for several months. The China Wok is in the Precinct and should not be confused with “The New China Wok” in Bournemouth Road
