Staff are awfully rude, used to be a lot nicer in here. Suddenly told to leave the table we were sat at because they wanted to clear the area. Told we couldn't finish our drinks and to get out the way, by an aggressive member of staff. I would not return, after a good few years or coming here occasionally.

I was assaulted in your premises by a male i don’t know who touched my bum and when speaking to security we were told to leave and that need was no manager present. This is incredibly unprofessional and we were told there was nothing that could be done and that we were barred

Awful experience DJ was extremely bad and atmosphere was bad but makes sense since DJ couldn’t play good music and couldn’t mix bouncers also seemed off just an awful night out kept playing that umbrella song which is shocking need to fix this up asap otherwise i can see this club closing within next 6 months especially if this dj is still here

Bartenders helped me find my lost phone, good music, pool tablets, what angels 💗

The ginger barmaid was great, service was fast and the music was good.

I went here last night and overall it wasn’t too bad. However there was a ginger barmaid who had awful service. I’m not usually one to complain however she would blatantly leave people who she had seen had been waiting for 30-40 mins and continued to serve her friends. Also poor by the management as she was the only person on that bar, however I thought she was extremely unprofessional as she kept serving her mates in parts of the bar in which she had told other people they weren’t allowed stand and to top it all off she was giving her mates free drinks whilst also serving them before 15-20 people who had all clearly been there much longer. Multiple customers were also extremely annoyed by this so I hope this is something that can be fixed as it really ruins the image of what is a decent bar.

Drinks taste horrible and flat!! bouncers are not nice but people just go here when everywhere else is shut and dont want the party to end 😂😂

Absolutely rank pub, came here last night, bouncers were bloody miserable, one male bouncer was lovely mind… Asked for a taxi called as my friends had left me alone in the pub, no taxi was called. Asked to step outside to find out where my friends are to which is apparently not allowed ! I was charged not just for my drinks but for whosever else’s when I was only paying for myself. Bar staff were rude. Also charges 5 quid to get in when it is in an absolute state, toilets are minging, no sense of safety whatsoever not even with the staff as they are so bloody vile, i have never felt so uneasy in a pub in all my life - it was my fault for agreeing to go in there but i didn’t realise it was that grim. You can go to much nicer places for free entry, drinks cheaper and the staff actually care. Thank you for a truly awful night ☺️

26 minutes to get a drink. The bartender must be blind to take everyone else order before ours while we were queuing for Ages just in front of him

Disgusting behaviour from the tattooed female bouncer, my sister was manhandled and literally thrown out the pub after asking a question about using the men's toilets. It's okay if you want someone to leave the premises but to physically assault someone is not okay, she wasn't aggressive or arguing with the bouncer in the slightest and yet she was treated like she had done the worst thing imaginable. The one eyed dog needs to assess their staff because that behaviour was disgusting.

Usually go here on a Sunday for a few drinks after work a generally good atmosphere to play some chilled out pool. Good selection of drinks on tap and spirits. Good selection of snacks

Iconic pub but it could do with a revamp? Needs updating.

Oh but the place was amazing, would definitely recommend for anyone looking for good atmosphere and prices and a place that's open slightly later than other venues in Portsmouth. Music was alright, plenty of people around so quite fun 🥳

HAS NO DRESS CODE BUT WONT LET YOU IN IN TROUSERS ?!!! / Tragic, music is hit and miss. However, the worst blame goes on their door staff, Vespasian Security. A friend came in white cargo trousers of a waterproof cargo material very very similar to “parachute pants” commonly worn nights out. And was turned away and the Vespasian security (a woman with blonde hair with the left side of her hair shaved with a visible tattoo on the left of her skull an dark hair, proceeded to mock her) despite the one eyed dog describing itself as a “lively tavern” with the goal “bring together the community” AND having no dress code AND posting a girl on their Facebook wearing sweatpants only 2 weeks prior (suggests either a incompetent individual or a racist one who does not perceive two individuals equally.

Charges for entry yet has a smaller bar than most pubs. Also they never clean the toilets.

Security guards at this venue are well out of order. Didn't assist me when i begged them to help my friend who was being physically assaulted by 2 men. Then on another occasion they aggressively man handled my sister and threatened her. Pretty sure they don't clean their lines too. Overpriced drinks. Don't bother.

Good bar all round! 1 or 2 relatively crafty taps. Better and chiller on week nights, on weekends there is an entry fee, and can be very hard to get a drink!

Nice place to start a night out, it's in the middle of rhe Albert Road and Elm Grove areas. There are 3 pool tables and they are often free to play at an earlier time in the day.

Nice place but the disrespectful and rude bar staff made it a terrible experience :( Came with a group of 9 for a birthday celebration; unfortunately an individual unbeknown to us pressed one of the beer taps. This resulted in a 8 minute hostile conversation with who I assume was the supervisor, who accused us of all (in turn) of pressing the beer tap. After being asked repeatedly to examine the CCTV! it was another individual which was then (rightly) kicked out. minutes after the mystery of the unknown pint was concluded she had my group kicked out. An unfortunate situation handled incredibly unprofessionally by the supervisor. she seemed to have missed 4/20 and I would definitely recommend she wind down with a zoot x

Looking for a late night bar on saturday was the only without a queue, paid £6 to get in not sure why, but once in realised why, it was full of youngsters.did i feel old yes. Security were funny on the door too. Just not my cup if tea but if your 18 this is the place for you, not for over 35s lol

I went here for a social event with society, the atmosphere was incredible the bar staff were friendly, especially Natalia, Marcela, and Diana. There was good music and able to play pool. Overall had a great experience and would defiantly go again.

So good I can't even remember going.

Went here around 12am on a Saturday night. It cost £6 for entry which was pretty extreme and it was very busy and took 30 mins to get a drink at the bar and the drinks were pretty expensive as well. The pub was essentially operating like a club but the bar didn't seem set up to deal with how busy it was but to give credit to the staff it was obvious they were trying their best. I've never been here before so can't really comment what it's like during the week but there are definitely better places you can go at 12am on a Saturday night.

Why is it so difficult to get a drink in this place????

The atmosphere is busy and inviting. But the thing limiting it from getting higher than 3* is the lack of good support for people in wheelchairs being able to enjoy the venue. Often ending up with longer wait times to be served, and having to wait to use on site facilities such as bathrooms.

The lady that served me was obnoxious. I was there just to buy a drink to my wife and she didn't served in a good way.

Love their happy hour from 4-7 for £2.50 pints you canny complain. 241 cocktails all day, atmospheric vibe and good tunes.

The manager is a bit annoying here, seems to dislike big groups who are loud. After spending quite a lot of money here the other weekend, he just stopped us ordering. No one caused any issues or overly drunk. Shame really as we had good time prior to this

Love the dog sick bar to go to if you don't want to go out out but the bar maid that was serving me and my friends was miserable and that kind of put a damper on the night

Great service, especially in the current climate. It seemed like all the rules and regs were being followed, and despite needing to use table service, there was never a long wait to order. Keep up the good work.

Rude staff, deafening music and pathetic drink selection. You'd be better off buying a six pack at an off-license and drinking it under a bridge.

Many promotions and light music which I like . Actually it's the first place I think about when I wanna go out .

The dogs upped its game all staff friendly and very dog friendly, changed my opinion on it and enjoy going there for a chilled pint with mates

Affordable drinks and plenty of pool tables. The pool tables are in good positions too, unlike some bars where you can't take any shots due to how close they are to the walls.

I was here with 7 of my friends had been there for several hours I went out for a smoke and the bouncer said I had not been in before. I was consequently charged and extra £2 entry. Extremely disappointed we won’t be back

Visiting Portsmouth see my son, Got asked forl my ID on the door LOL I'm fifty years old ffs. Queue and Sign saying if you look under 25 you will be asked for some ID. Could do with a clean an decorate inside especially up by the pool tables.

Loved coming here, it is dog friendly. It wasn't overly busy and it was nice to play pool in here with no rush. The place was clean and tidy , the drinks were also reasonably Priced. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you

I've been going here for years. It usually got a great atmosphere and a few pool tables which is rare in Portsmouth these days.

Discriminates people with invisible disabilities and refuses ID that is legally sufficient. Would not recommend.

The One Eyed Dog (Official) I couldn’t be more disappointment with your treatment of my partially sighted daughter tonight. The fact that she doesn’t have a drivers license because she is unable to PHYSI CALLY drive yet still has a a VALID / GOVERNMENT /POLICE APPROVED from of identification yet your “boss” according to your bouncers doesn’t approve it and will not allow her (although right across the street they do and would happily let her in) is disgusting. Why should she not be able to enjoy herself as much as the next person just because she can’t have a drivers license? Just because she can’t drive a car. Clearly you are discriminating towards people with disabilities. She should not have to take her passport out as as the next person should. A citizen card is an acceptable document. You said it’s not acceptable because it can be forged... Driving license can be forged also?? Passports can be forged. How dare you. How is that any different to a passport that’s eight or nine years old?? You are disgraceful you discriminate against people with disabilities. By the way it’s against the law to discriminate people with disabilities think in future. Perhaps ask the person why they can’t drive!! Perhaps be acceptable to VALID IDS even if your bouncers don’t recognise them. Absolutely disgraced. I have a broken daughter at home all because one establishment “decided” they can’t accept a VALID ID that is a little different to a drivers license that NOT EVERYONE HAS THE CAPACITY TO OBTAIN.

Very good pub, the artwork was very nice and the music played is way better than most areas, the price is decent and the staff members are very nice and friendly, they also do different deals on different days.

Great, relaxing pub during the afternoon and evening, pool tables and nice largers. Good place to go with friends for a chilled night out. Night atmosphere is good too. DJ comes in around 9/10pm and the place gets a bit packed

Lovely bar! The dj guy turned the music off for us whilst we did hen doo games so we didn't have to shout over it. Good selection of drinks and some cocktails too. Great atmosphere!
