The Omelette Restaurant in Kingston upon Hull, City of

My friend and I ordered scampi, for the money was not worth it. When I cut into the scampi, I have no idea what was in it but I have not tasted anything like it. It was hard and it tasted nothing like scampi. My friends was not as bad as mine but some of it was the same. The waitress took it away and asked if I wanted anything else, I had a jacket potato, it was OK, lots of prawns. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We arrived at 12.15 expecting it to be busy at peak eating time but apart from couple of tables it was empty. We should have realised then that this once popular eatery was no longer what it was in the past. Despite leaving the majority of my mousska and telling the waitress that it was the worst one I’ve ever had I received no apology and no offer of free sweet or a refund. This isn’t how to rebuild what was once a thriving business. Needless to say I won’t even consider going back.

Had breakfast with family. It was alright. I had the English Breakfast with brown toast and a hot chocolate. I thought it'd be great to have a wee pot of hot water as I wanted to keep my hot choc warm and less concentrated/sweet... I didn't get the chance to ask for the hot water, it was a busy morning, I guess. The waitresses were very busy that morning but luckily a lovely lady attended to us and our order came faster than I anticipated... I was famished.

Went in group of 15. Staff very good, very polite and helpful, great service. Everyone enjoyed it. Good choice if food reasonably priced.

Was very busy, we had table booked for 6pm & didn't get food till 6.50pm and as we were going to the New Theatre we had to rush to eat. Also it was very cold didn't seem to get any heating!

Tried the pan fried liver, it was perfectly cooked with a lovely gravy, I really like this place, never had a bad meal

Brilliant customer services, waitresses were very nice & informative. Me and my partner ordered a large english breakfast, and it was delicious. Definitely will be returning here again sometime, thank you.

Pre show meal. Good menu choice. Reasonable price for portion size. Couldnt complain about the service. Only let down very overpriced drinks.

The food was very poor I had a pasta meal and all I could taste was herb coriander which spoilt my meal,took 40mins to come aswell wasn't even asked if the meal was OK,my girlfriend had beef wrap which she liked but chips was too greasey.

We booked a table at omelet for saterday 4th November , on arrival we were told there’s no booking made , we showed them confirmation on the phone , a women came from the back of the restaurant we were told there’s a table over there but we had to be out by a certain time as it was for there REGULARS the women was so rude , then asked for a liquor coffee and was told sorry never been shown how to make them and I am not going to try as it’s to busy ,the attitude of the women giving us a table was disgusting no management skills at all ,if that’s how they treat customers god help the company who run it we did get some discount but that’s not the point WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

Popped into this restaurant (been many times before) about 4 pm on a Friday with no reservation and were accommodated. The meal came quickly and was superbly cooked, piping hot and very tasty. My wife had gammon and I had the moussaka and both were great quality. Waitress service was excellent from a friendly efficient and organised staff member Recommend this place completely. Close to the city centre and New Theatre. Plenty of reasonably priced parking nearby. Please be aware that there are old menus and prices still on-line which do not reflect today's pricing. Doesn't detract from a great experience.

They were very busy but managed to find us a table. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Lovely place and very convenient for the theatre up the road. It is so good I'd advice you to book ahead to gaurentee a table.

Delivery. Every 5 minutes or so expected time of delivery kept getting longer and longer. When thefood eventually arrived, cold, lamb tough as old boots, rice bland. Not impressed at all, wouldn't recommend at all.

Had a lovely pre-theatre meal. Two salads with salmon and prawns and steak. Enough salmon/prawns for the salad which was ample. Steak was lovely and cooked to how we asked. Chunky chips were great and we ordered side portion wedges which were huge and very enjoyable. Great value for money.

Terrible! Wait time was not acceptable. The food has no seasoning at all. All meals were very bland. The waitress was not bothered at all when we told her. When I paid she was confrontational about our feedback basically calling us liers. Used to be a fantastic place to eat. I would question if the omelettes are actually made with real eggs, the consistency was weird. I think it might be powdered egg. We will not be returning.

Went for tea the food and service was great(could be we wer the only ones in) but really the food was hot only bottled beer no pumps would go again

The staff were really helpful, I'd been to the dentist earlier and needed something soft, they did me a lovely fluffy mushroom and cheese omelette with no chips or salad. Just what I needed, as I was still numb from the injections. I accompanied it with a cool glass of apple juice. I'll be back, in fact I've booked for us all before we go to the theatre.

Such a lovely breakfast and the staff was very friendly.

I always think of an omelette as a 'light bite' and so was expecting better as the establishment is called The Omelette and it was nothing special (I make better at home). I had my mixed veg omelette with a jacket potato and small salad garnish, followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard (nice) and a tonic water and thought the price tag of £22+ was expensive. Probably will not return.

First time visit although its been here at least 55 years in city centre convenient for the theatre. Very clean, menu mostly mediterranian but other choices available.

Food was lovely, friendly staff. Soft drinks expensive though 😒. Atmosphere would have been comfortable if it wasn't for the noisy group of middle aged 'bowls party'. Would definately go back & try some thing else on the spoilt for choice menu 👍

Had to stay in Hull for 2 nights and finding the Omelette Restaurant was a huge win! Service was polite, professional but still very friendly Had the mixed grill for one - kofta, lamb chop, a marinated lamb kebab and a chicken kebab, with homemade thick chips and salad Very filling but was hugely enjoyable Good food at a reasonable price!

First time we've been in Omelette & highly recommend it.!!

Absolutely love this place, always great food and great service. Prices are typical restaurant prices, but the standard of food is superior to most places. I would definitely recommend the prawns in garlic and chilli for a starter

My husband & I have been Sunday lunch regulars for quite some time now, from day 1 on arrival friendly welcoming, meals arrived reasonably quickly.They are cooked fresh so do understand re short wait. Cafe is always clean & staff very polite & friendly, never had to complain about the food in 2 years,it arrives at the table hot & just as we ordered. Thank you to all staff.Will continue to eat here on Sunday's.

Well I phoned for a takeout just a chicken n mushroom omlette didn't even get chips just got a salad and I was charged £12.99 Yet there is no other omlette ok n the menu this expensive all around £8 served with chips also I think they saw me coming absurdly disgusting price

Was terrible I ordered eggs Benedict and it was served cold the sauce was shockingly made and resembled water which made it completely soggy , the bacon served with it was cold and hard 😩😩😩 I mentioned this to the staff but wasn’t offered any sort of REAL discount , just a sorry and good bye. Don’t intend to use this place ever again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone .

I went here on a recommendation however when I arrived it was like walking into a school playground with children running everywhere, the food was OK but the service was poor, when I asked for a recipt so I can came it back on my expenses they didn't have one as they said the till roll had ran out. I refused to pay until I had one then remarkably one appeared.

Very nice lunch, even though it was a last minute decision. Most tables reserved, but managed to squeeze us in.

We found this restaurant purely by accident, the food was first class & although it was very busy the service was very good. Would definitely eat here again when I next come over to Hull.

Last minute choice to visit here after finding it online. It was very quiet,but it was early afternoon. A friendly welcome with a choice of where to sit. There is plenty of choice on the menu, something for everyone I would say. The food was delicious and freshly cooked. Ordered a pudding and requested plenty of custard, I wasn't disappointed! Would definitely visit here again and would highly recommend.

Great little place, theres always a large party of us (13/16) eat here before theatre. Foods fab, service great. We will be back!

Been a few times and had different meals most of the time which have been lovely and good value. The big breakfast is amazing

Five of us dined out at The Omelette Restaurant on Saturday 10th Dec. The food was really nice. The service was good, our food arrived not long after we ordered and was hot. Staff were very helpful. I would certainly recommend dining out at The Omelette.

Worst ever experience. I will update the video as soon as I can along with photos and the telephone calls which have been recorded. Considering the imminent recession, you'd think a restaurant would want and most definitely need the money. All I will say is that the new owners have probably a year..... before they lose the restaurant. Police footage available also... yes that's correct, I was asked to go to the restaurant, I arrived with my Emotional Support Animal and partner. As I've said I have EVERYTHING RECORDED.

Coke is £3.25... It's a can! Omelette was dry, chicken was tough, jacket potato was limp, salad was pitiful. We went a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, went back again today and it had really gone downhill.

I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid, my mother has always liked it in here. Whenever we are at the theatre or city hall we come here for our tea first. I even come here on my own for luch when I'm in town. It's changed hands lately but the food and service are still good. The girls who serve you are lovely, really friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is good and plenty on your plate, it usually beats us most times. Could just do with being a bit warmer, it can be a bit cool due to big windows and the door opening. Can't wait to go again on Wednesday.

Hidden gem opposite Hull Central Library. Wonderfully spacious inside, with a cool and relaxed atmosphere. Can accommodate larger parties as well as smaller groups or individuals. Great menu with an emphasis on the service of the staff who were lovely, bright and cheerful and very helpful. Very welcome break from so many cookie-cutter branded places.

I ordered take away online and part of the order was wrong, we only receive one Correct meal. The food that we received wasn’t of good quality and went in the bin. I rang the restaurant to let them know we received wrong order and was told I’m a waitress I can’t help you. Poor service will never use again

Me and my girlfriend went to the omelette for a meal and we both really enjoyed our food we got the staff are very friendly and we love going there it one of our favourite places

At 10am 30 july went into an empty restaurant. Very slow service and it appeared as we where not locals service was very poor, refills advertised for coffee but not offered.first and last visit

Paid a visit , as I thought might be an improvement from previous experience, but was worse , The waitress was pleasant and I ordered breakfast with no mushroom and soft egg , The food arrived looked quiet nice yes had no mushroom but again as previously the egg hard , but during the meal , the staff and manager decided to move around furniture to accommodate his 10 friends behind me in a niche that was far too small to accommodate 10 people, asked one guy if he would move his table forward , he was waiting to order his food , a few miylater asked him to move table so he said he’s off !! Then as I just finishing my meal , reached for my cup tea got asked to move , but I felt intimidated so I left paid , and said to waitress not her fault but , I would not return , One waitress said it was a short notice on line booking , other waitress apologetic said the booking was taken months ago as it was his ( manager) friends , so this should have all being arranged earlier prior to people arriving, and realise that one person monies are just as well earned and probably more regularly visitor that friends , so goodbye omlette, will go elsewhere where my monies appreciated thanks

Huge disappointment. Called in on Saturday - not one single vegan dish. All they could offer was a Mediterranean salad with the feta removed. Won't bother going there again.

Halloumi and prawn starters were really yummy, husband had liver and said I was beautiful. I ordered the chicken skewer but found the seasoning a little too spicy for my taste but the garlic aoli helped cool it down

Just had a breakfast delivery, the food arrived on time, food was good, but we ordered fried and poached eggs, only got well done poached eggs. Sausage missing and only got half a mushroom each, toast was soggy, but as mentioned before the food we had was good

Just ordered an order on uber eats got cancelled 10 minutes before the order should have arrived not ordering anything else from here again bad communication to let customer know that there order had been cancelled now we have to wait for out money to be transferred back into our account after already been paid for the meal not happy at all that's the reason why I've put one star rating.

Lamb chops were great from a lady who has them plenty, salad very good and the prices were great value, it can get busy, staff great with nice buzy atmosphere and will be going back, only downside bottled lager £3-95, no draft beer so lost a star
