Decent food, tons of pool, worth a visit if you're in the area!

Nice pub, my partner, and I pop in for lunch after shopping every now and then.

Lovely bartender called Meg gave me a hug while I cried happy tears, amazing service from everyone who was on shift and they made the atmosphere better making the experience feel more full and complete for me and my friends.

Booked a table of 27 for a meal for my football team Meg and her team were fantastic It was really quite busy in there the food came out quickly with next to no issues and she knew exactly where she was with our table and our 2 tabs running simultaneously Really great service and the team left more than happy to Thanks gardeners

Staff are super lovely, and its such a good atmosphere to be in. You can come with friends or family the vibe is always 10/10. You need to try their mega breakfast. Definitely would recommend !!

The food arrived in good time it was nice and hot. I think it was the landlord who brought the food out. He Asked if we required anything else . The food was very tasty and was exactly what I expected. Good value good service

Ordered a burger with added donner, which we’ve had before from here, to be brought out chicken in a tiny pot? When I added it to the burger anyway, brought it up to be told “yeah they changed it”?? Update the menu then? Burgers were rock hard burnt too, wouldn’t mind but waited about an hour and half to even be able to order as they weren’t serving food unless you reserved tables. Won’t eat here again

Took my family for roast dinner. We were waiting over an hour for food, which was unacceptable, especially when you have a bored, hungry toddler. We had to ask were our meals are because people who came after us had all eaten. They apologise and it took another 10 minutes after that hour to arrive. When it did arrive, the food wasn't very warm and no cauliflower cheese, which was an extra. After dinner we wanted desserts, but after waiting 15 minutes for someone to bring a menu, we decided to leave without dessert. When I went to pay, they still charged for extra we didn't receive and took them a while to take off the bill. Staff wasn't friendly. Not an enjoyable experience

Had aobely time at the gardeners arms. We were served by a lovely waitress named Nicole. She was attentive and polite. Would definitely recommend to everyone to come here for a drink or food.

Great experience, absolutely loved the mixed grill with a nice pint of Guinness! Can't beat the value

My hockey team (Newland) comes here after matches, and we absolutely love it. The food is really good, the drinks are really well priced, and even when the pub is busy with the football, we're well looked after! Great range of drinks (including hot ones, for when we're well and truly frozen!)! Staff are friendly and helpful, and informative! We mass order food for groups of up to 24 people, but whenever we have a dietary requirement, that food comes out on a single plate, and it's specially made, which really helps out and stops any cross contamination. We've had other teams comment on how good the food is (and how big the portions are!). We will be here every hockey season, for as long as they'll have us!

Nice place for a pint, didn't get any food but people i was with said it was decent, they have pool tables and everything was quite good.

Love going to gards for food, playing pool and sitting in the beer garden. Great atmosphere with lovely staff and great student deals on drinks.

Nice pub, thought the drinks were a bit on the high side, But then again its been a lomg time since I've been in a public house.

Came for a bottomless brunch for a birthday. Jasmine served us and was absolutely amazing. 10/10 service and very friendly. Plenty of drinks served for the 90 min time slot. Didn’t mind starting our time late due to some friends being late. Would recommend to everyone :)

Nice pub, usually lots of students in

Our regular Friday meeting group of FIVE came to our pre-booked table in the front bar for planned food and drinks only to find our table minutely small and in the dark and the whole room was freezing cold. We moved to the rear bar, BUT this was as equally cold, but we could actually sit properly and see the menu. It was too cold and unpleasant and we left to eat & drink elsewhere !! P.S. Had a great reply & explanation from Karl, the manager, who then generously offered us a complementary evening, whch we had last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done Karl, AND JADE, an excellent night was had by all. Thank you

Ayer entró a comer algo, ya que no estaba en un tiempo, y puedo decir que estábamos muy contentos con la comida / servicio y todo el ambiente, pedí la pizza de festín de carne que era delicioso y a un precio razonable y mi amigo pidió el filete Rump, ambos cocinados perfectamente, así que se quita el sombrero a los chefs. Y la chica encantadora que nos sirvió Jade por su servicio brillante y ambiente eficiente y feliz que trajo al lugar! El lugar estaba muy ocupado con un gran ambiente! Brillante selección de bebidas también un montón de elección para los amantes sin alcohol! Sin duda volveremos muy pronto!

Tuve una gran noche de seguimiento, después de un problema de calefacción hace un mes. La comida y el servicio eran sin duda volver a la normalidad. Cuidado de la realeza por Jade y realmente disfrutó de la compensación. Gracias Karl.

We came in the gardeners for our annual staff party for the first time and what a great night we all had. Pub was spotless clean and tidy. Very well maintained. The 4 staff members was brilliant. Very professional and friendly.

Had a really great time when I went with a friend. The staff are amazing and the member off staff that served us think his name was Reecee was really polite and friendly. He made really nice cocktails and checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything.

Great pub and really good for student nights on Wednesdays. Greta atmosphere through out the week especially if your a sports fan. Always has the rugby on love this bar

My local always has the best tasting pints, a brilliant range of selection. You can tell the lines are always clean. Then there’s the food, very well priced and big portions for what you pay for. Always tastes amazing, I have never had an issue with food or drink when I’ve visited here. The quiz nights are always fun and energetic and the pub always has an fantastic atmosphere

Came in to have food and drink with the kids to watch the football in the front bar. Family and dog friendly pub. Sasha’s customer service was unmatched and have no complaints. Made us all welcome. Food was great. The kids enjoyed there food all came out in good time with no delays.

Great spot for students at Hull, in here most of the time with either flatmates or people from my course. It’s the perfect spot for a uni student

We came here for a club Christmas meal and it was brilliant. Staff were amazing and really friendly, and the food was great. Prices were excellent, everything was really well priced especially considering we have a 3 course meal and drinks it was less than £20. Also being students, this was great as it was super affordable. Atmosphere was amazing, and overall a really fun festive environment. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Very good night out woud come again

Called in for a drink around 5pm. Not many customers in the front bar, took a while to get served, as bar staff in the rear bar. Didn,t have any food, so unable to rate. Atmosphere was quiet, due to only 4 people in the front bar. When it's full it looks like it could have a good Atmosphere. It was happy hour, so selected lagers/beers £3 a pint. 😁

Family meal out, but a lot of things were off the menu.

Popped in last Monday for quick bite to eat around 7pm. Arrived, staff was all friendly we ordered a pizza to share, but was 2-4-1 so had one each was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and chilled we even stopped for the quiz which was fun. Defo something fun to do on a Monday night we didn't win, but will be back for another go. Good night to have a catch up with friends.

Pepsi can be a bit hit or miss but everything else is class there. Cheap drinks especially with student discount

Gards is by far the only place in Hull that accommodates for all students. The team never fail to satisfy and go beyond our needs. The staff love to see us come in and know us all on a first name basis. The manager has bent over backwards to give our rugby union team a unique and unbelievable experience. Thank you for being our local.

Place was very quiet there was 4 of us ordered lunch waited over 1 hour for our meal to arrive was told that they had a new chef no excuse the poor girl kept apologising .the chef needs training. Would not recommend

Go to gardeners a lot for drinks but ate for the first time recently. A group of us shared some tapas style dishes from the starters section of the menu and everything was excellent, tastes fresh and cooked well and was very good value. Had a mixed grill for main course and this was also very good,steak was cooked to perfection and all the food arrived in good time! Love gardeners for drinks and will look to eat there more often in the future

It’s huge! Doesn’t look big from the front but there’s a whole second bar with pool tables and loads of room to sit and eat. Atmosphere is perfect always showing something on tv sports wise, music playing to suit the time of day and staff always friendly! They have some great offers on food with a small plates deal, as well as 241 pizzas through the week, 2 main deals and even lunch deals… and don’t get me started on the drinks! £2 for a Coors 12-5 through the week before a 3 hour long happy hour!!! Can’t recommend this place and looking forward to trying out their weekend breakfast deals.

Can’t recommend this pub enough! Me and the football team I play for visit every Saturday after our game. The staff are friendly, food and drink are very well priced and they also show all of the live sport too!

Food is ok, and the atmosphere because of atitude is bad. Had to wait for 30 min for 3 breakfasts and one burger... No one but us were eating. Rest were just drinking. It started with a question: Does anyone have any allergies? After I said yes, I had to read terms and conditions, taking into consideration that I didn't have my reading glases with me. I have been told that if I don't agree with them, I wouldn't be served any food. We had a busy day, and we were starving. I read it and questioned them, because terms stated that they are doing best job cos they are pros. But sometimes accidents happen, and if croscontamination will happen, they will not be held responsible!!! Outstanding!!! (not exact word, my interpretation) I pointed out that, as I mentioned before, I have been told that I will not be served unless i agree. I worked in a kitchen before, and I am a certified chef. This is unacceptable!!! Never the less we had a busy day. This was third place we came to, and the other was closed. I agree with the terms, and we ate there(allergy is rear, raspberry) Also, We asked our doghter to bring mom half a glas of orange juice(she needs to mix it with medication). She was ignored. Definitely not will go there and won't recommend it!

Surprisingly good food, parking at the rear. No kids menu and they removed the dart board but otherwise a really good boozer, no nonsense, nice outdoor tables too for when the sun is out.

Visited on Saturday fab ABBA tribute act in the afternoon staff and owner were very friendly and worked hard serving the crowd a great day and will return strongly recommend popping in for good food and drinks thanks for a great sunny afternoon
