Arreglé una comida familiar grande después de Navidad aquí, probablemente en uno de los días más ocupados de la semana! Nuestra mesa estaba lista con antelación, el personal era increíblemente acogedor y muy paciente mientras esperábamos a que llegara un miembro de nuestro grupo. Después de haber organizado para pre-ordenar todos los platos que hizo la experiencia mucho más fácil y como siempre la comida era excepcional y una gran relación calidad-precio. Siempre me sorprende el tamaño de la porción, la calidad y los precios, en comparación con lo que tenemos que pagar en las tierras medias. Todo el personal era increíblemente servicial, amable e hizo que nuestra familia se reúna una gran experiencia.

Llevo más de 10 años viniendo a Larkins , siempre un gran lugar, con un gran servicio , menú es bueno y siempre una buena selección de verdaderos ales on , el personal siempre es amable y se ríen , Fuera de la zona de fumadores es una gran ventaja ! ! ( dog friendly ! )

Lovely food, we came as a group of 13 and nobody had anything bad to say about the whole experience. There was quite a wait for our food even though it was pre-booked, but considering it was christmas period and how busy the place was we couldnt have expected any different, i’d imagine everyone was rushed off their feet. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. When they came to collect our plates they even offered us a refund on a pizza because it was hardly eaten. (nothing wrong with the pizza, just too full to finish it!) food and atmosphere was very nice, would definitely return

Had my wife's 50th family birthday meal on Sunday 12. 21 people food was amazing as we're the staff. nothing too much for our celebration many thanks.

Cuidado a qué hora vas. Este lugar puede cerrar la cocina cuando quieran. A pesar de ser habituales, nos rechazaron por cuarta vez esta noche. No volveré de nuevo.

Tuve una cena encantadora con mis amigos anoche. La comida encantadora y caliente... el entrante de hummus de aceitunas y pan crujiente caliente era delicioso también... Bonita sensación cálida amable en larkings, personal amable y servicial.

Met my mates for lunch, Larkins always has a solid beer selection, was early but all the staff are friendly and a good laugh, went and sat outside, really quirky seating areas in sheds which is great as it feels private, ordered the club sandwich, was delicious, red pepper mayo was a game changer, my mate was impressed with the beef, the dipping gravy was good and he did a great job not getting it on his top, was the first visit for most of the lads and they said they would all definitely return.

I mean, it's nice enough and there are plenty of beer choices, but they've ruined the garden so you can't actually sit outside when you're outside. Brilliant bar staff, though.

Was expecting much from this place on first visit, but underwhelmed. Service was surly and unwelcoming. Food took ages, and my lasagne had been heated for so long the sauce was burnt around the edges and to the dish. The beer was the worst I'd drank in Hull (Good Beer Guide, how?). Pricy food too.

Expected better, the cheesy garlic bread was covered in butter (not garlic) which made the whole thing taste nasty. Children’s fish fingers were cheap and nasty. For an independent pub I think it’s lacking the quality. Shame because it used to be nice

Nice and chilled in the outside booths , decent ale. And never any problems 💚💨, good food as well.

Food was great. The pub is great. Afternoon spoiled only by old man sitting in the no smoking area next to us, smoking openly. Wanted to say something to the woman who cleared the table, but she too was smoking.

I went for the first time for a meal with family. The food was beautiful, lovely atmosphere and very friendly. Thankyou to all the staff for a lovely evening. Highly recommended 👌.

Always good and best lasagne around

Excellent Sunday lunch. The beef was tender, the roast potatoes were perfect, and the cauliflower cheese was the best I have had in ages. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Would have preferred less music. We hunted for a table away from the speakers. We will definitely come back when visiting Hull in the future.

Food was amazing, couldn't fault it, so damn good. Staff were ace too. Only bad thing I can say is the outside sheds could do with a lick of paint and a tidy up but that's neither here nor there.

One of the nicest bars around Newlands ave, genuinely great bar staff and great atmosphere. This has become my local go to. x

Heard good things but came and the service was awful staff no help whatsoever. Sunday dinner was 2/10 veg all rock solid, Gravy like water. Would not go back unfortunately.

Went on Thursday with friends. Had omelette. Felt really poorly following day and got worse stomach cramps fever and diarrhoea over weekend..been to doctors today and told me it was food poisoning.

Always a wonderful atmosphere in Larkins, the food is top notch. It's great with the family or just a day/night out with friends. 5 stars all the time, we haven't ever had a bad experience there and have probably been going regularly for the last 5 years.

Just visited for a drink. But always decent.

Larkins bar is a great place for a drink or something to eat. There is an excellent range of beers, lagers, cider, and craft beers and also excellent cask conditioned hand-pulled real ales. The style is modern bare brick with wooden floors. The bar is very popular for food. The pizzas look fabulous. It's quite a large bar, plenty of seating, but it has a nice cosy feel to it. There is also a large outdoor beer garden with plenty of covered seating with cosy cabins.

Went on a works night out . Staff were fantastic really organised meals were great. We were well looked after .

I was truly surprised by the whole experience. It's a lively bar restaurant with extremely reasonable prices for the most mouth-watering food we've had for a long time. I suggest that if there's more than two or three in your group that you book a table as we did. It's so good you'll have trouble getting a seat if you don't.

Been in today and we're totally disappointed.. We haven't been in for a while so we were looking forward to eating here. We had steak and chips and stroganoff.... First we wanted meat pie but they didn't have any left. Then they told us they didn't have rice after the meal had been paid for!! The portions were very small to what they used to be. The steak which was grisly, had a few chips, one mushroom 1 tomato and no salad. Definitely not worth nearly £18. Will not be going back.

Went here as a backup as we were badly let down by another venue and were impressed by the friendliness and atmosphere of the place and staff. We arrived not long before food orders stopped but they were honest about that. The food was great and plentiful and a 4* for that is a good 4* ( it has to be absolutely exceptional for a 5* so this is not a mark down). We couldn't order desserts because time wouldnt allow it but newland avenue has so many alternatives we just went to a cake shop and picked some up for takeaway.. Guys and gals , you saved our afternoon out after a bad letdown by another venue. Thanks.

I have eaten at Larkins many times before and found it to be consistently good. However, that changed on Saturday when I ordered the steak and ale pie. Normally a dish guaranteed to cure hunger pangs and set you up for the afternoon / night ahead, this “pie” was a let down. To start with, I wouldn’t call it a pie. It had no pastry other than the lid, which slid off to reveal the meat in the oven dish beneath. To say the oven dish was small is an understatement. The portion of mash potato beside it was also disappointing in size and the veg was just a few pieces of tender stem broccoli. Whilst the food (apart from the lack of pie crust) was nice enough, the size of the portion left me hungry. I don’t know if there has been a recent change in the menu or chef, but it was a bit of a let down, sadly.

Toxic, toxic bar staff. I’m not sure if they haven’t been trained in customer service properly or just been brought up with bad morals. Awful service and so so rude. Atmosphere was also very dull and toxic, matched the staffs attitude. It’s the last time I spend my money in there, don’t deserve the wages they’re getting from MY money.

Regularly changed draught ales. Nice casual place to meet friends. Food is very good too.

Excellent pub, serving a great selection of real ales, wines and spirits. The food menu is excellent and the servings always quality The staff and service is always top notch and very friendly.

Always a winner! Not sure if they've got a new chef, but the recent specials are excellent quality and good value for money. There are also cask and craft keg beers available. Exceptionally friendly service from all the staff.

We love it. Very nice atmosphere, a lot of tablets are separate, which is give you great time for nice talking and nobody can hear you. Food looks and teast delicious. Toilets are clean! Well done! Strongly recommend. 👍

Had a roast beef and onion ciabatta really tasty. Sat in the garden . There are lots of little "rooms" that seat around 6to 8 people. Service was good it was a very busy lunchtime so took around half an hour to get our food. But we had drinks so no problem. They do no alcohol lager very useful. Would happily eat there again

Best ribs and burgers in town! Larkin's is a real gem - if you ever get the chance pop in for a nice cold beer or drink and have that Larkins burger or ribs. The staff are friendly and attentive - a great place to spend a few hours relaxing and taking it easy.

Nice food, great atmosphere when busy, and a relaxing one when not, fabulous beer garden. Those prices are slowly going up, for a beer, but overall I love the place. A must try.

Set sights on Larkins. For a nice refreshing soda. Whilst standing at the bar chef came out and started to fill his own small necked water bottle from the very pump i was about to order from, fine... only he push the nozzle right up close to the neck of the bottle, which i can only presume he had spent the whole day drinking from... so we left. I like this place alot always nice food and reliable. But small deets like this i cannot overlook.

Food was brilliant! Had veg lasagne and apple crumble. Staff attentive, I door setting really relaxed and outdoor looked lovely. Highly recommend!

Best steak pie EVER. The meat was so tender & the gravy so rich , with even more meat bits in. Lovely creamy proper mash & fresh veg. Also the vegetarian spicy burger & Cajun fries were simply delicious. Hard working staff & really busy. Say no more

Sunday lunch at Larkins was first class. Food was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of delicious beers too.

Me and my other half came for food the first time eating in Larkins, and ordered a cheeseburger and the salmon dish. The salmon which I had was lovely but the cheeseburger that my other half had was not cooked properly it was all pink inside. We let the bar tender know and she offered my other half a drink on the house as he didnt want anymore food and she apologised and let her manager know. The manager came over to apologise and refunded the cheeseburger and even got me a Gin on the house as well. They were so lovely about it. But today my other half is not very well and he's been throwing up. He may think he's had food poisoning from the burger not been cooked. Such a shame that happened considering it was our first time trying it.

I love this place... Maybe loved. Food was great before. Now it's changed. Different chef now. Portions are smaller. Plates are a different size/shape so you get less. Disappointed. Hope they go back to the usually good stuff.

I'm not one to leave reviews, good or bad however, after our visit today I felt I had to. This was our 2nd trip to Larkin's for a Sunday lunch and today it was by far the best we have had for a very long time... and we've tried many places. The beef was cooked to perfection and the chef carved up 2 really generous slices. The whole dinner was lovely, staff were friendly and efficient and the place seems busy but organised and clean. It was a really enjoyable visit - well done to all !! We'll be back to try the lamb very soon

Have visited Larkins twice during the festive season for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal both times. Friendly and efficient staff, even when it's really busy. Choices for non-alcohol drinkers and decent veggie options too. Would recommend.
