Book tables but yet had to wait was absolutely crazy trying to order a meal at the same time as people trying to order drinks should be a designated area for ordering food stupid didn't think much to the ford Eva

From making my booking for 15 people on the website to leaving Red Sails I can only say the Team went above and beyond as usual! I made an error when booking and had to call the pub a really friendly girl answered and soon sorted me out thank goodness. Next I received a lovely phone call from a member of the Team telling me that we may not be able to sit where we wanted as there was already a large party in that area (near the kids indoor play area) but he went the extra mile to put is in a nice comfortable area with more room. I received a confirmation email and text and had the opportunity to cancel if I needed (very easy to reply on the text you just say yes or no). On arrival we were met by some Santa's elves (its that time of year) who seated us at our table with big smiles :-). The food was fabulous not long to wait and enough bar staff on so there wasn't any queues. The chef serving the carvery was brilliant very friendly and chatty and fresh vegetables and meat were continuously being brought out. Excellent service all round Red Sails is now our 'go to place' thank you everyone for a great night!

We was quite surprised at how good the food was and exceptional value for money, it has been quite a few years since we last visited and wasn’t very impressed then but the standards have improved 100% in our opinion. We’ll be back very soon

Best carvery I've had. Excellent service from the front of house staff, especially from Ebony. Veg was cooked perfectly and the beef and turkey was very lean and tasty. Would 100% go again.

Excellent service at the Red Sails.. lovely staff that are always cheerful and very helpful. The employee who stands out the most is Ellie but also the rest of the staff are also very good.

Ebony was very attentive, and helpful! It was my stepsister’s 18th birthday and she decorated the cake lovely.

Always a friendly reception and good food. I recommend it. I have Coeliac disease, so have to be very careful but I eat here with no worries.

Staff super pleasant and helpful, they alerted us to when the kids food was nearly ready to allow us to get our carvery so that we could all eat together. Carvery was incredible the beef was mouthwatering.

Whilst I'm only an infrequent visitor here, this is my go to place of I want to grab a Carvery lunch in Hull. We usually get in just before midday on a Sunday, as it can get very bust in the early afternoon. There are plenty of tables and all quite nicely spaced out so you don't feel all bunched up. Once you have paid for the meal at the bar, you simply take you ticket up to the carvery. There is the usual selection of Beef, Pork, Turkey and Gammon to chose from, all cooked beautifully. To compliment that is a large range of vegetables and condiments as well as some cracking Yorkshire puddings and stuffing if you want them. Been there several times, and always had a good consistent experience. Which is better than places ranging from excellent one day, and poor the next. This is why when I'm feeling in the need for a carvery dinner...this has become my default as I know they are never gonna let me down.

Great value and really friendly staff. Does exactly what it says on the tin. You can pop in, get a hot carvery with no time to wait. Plus don’t forget your Blue light card for a discount

Eat here regularly and always great service. Staff so friendly and attentive, everything is organised well. Great value for money, food is above average for a chain pub. I have a gluten free diet and their carvery and burgers are some to the best I’ve had gluten free.

It was nice to see the same staff, new ones too. This tells me staff are happy to work here. We arrived early and it was not a problem. Clear to see staff care about the customer experience with some disabled customer needs put first. This was lovely to see.

Booked a table for 4 people knowing it would be busy due to time of the month. Turned up and was told be 15min wait for table even though had booked. What's the point in booking? Also car park is way too small, had to wait 10mins to get parked waiting for people to leave . Walked out and went somewhere else.

I came to red sails for my birthday meal and received amazing service from ebony. She sang happy birthday to me and I appreciated it so much. Thank you for everything and for making my birthday special.

Carrots burnt peas hard small amount of meat not recommended

Standards seem to be slipping. The food used to be lovely but after tonight's visit I don't think we'll be bothering again. The cauliflower was crunchy like celery, the roast potatoes were just like frozen ready cooked ones which had like a tough skin on, we ended up leaving them. My wife's beef was very fatty, she left most of that as well. Disappointing all round really. The girl clearing the tables was pleasant enough.

Too bad to comment. Just don’t waste your money on a carvery menu looks expensive. So I would go elsewhere.

Sunday cavalry, delicious, two gripes having to pay £2:50 for 2 pigs in blankets ( should be included) & cauliflower cheese not cheesy . On the other hand carrots out of this world

Another great meal with excellent service in nice surroundings - what more could you ask for. We all had a carvery - mine with the vegetarian option of a spinach tart My only niggle is paying £2 more just because it is a Sunday

We stopped for the Sunday carvery because the missus could not be bothered to cook as she had a hangover. It was very busy but the food was good. Spotted some kids flicking bogies in the food, though adds a bit of extra meat, I guess. Overall, it was the first time and a good experience also you got a blue light discount

I have been to red sails plenty of times and never had any problems staff are always nice and polite and the food I have ever had from there has always been great. But one thing I would like to complain about is today I went at lunch time with my mam, as I had said I had received an email with 30 percent of food which red sails do quite often. Picked a table and started to look for my email saying about the 30 percent of mains, couldn't find it as it was one day last week I received it. But I knew it hadn't finished it was on until the 30 th September 2024, so I went to the bar and I explained to the man that I was trying to find my email for the 30 percent off main meals. but couldn't find it I said do you have to see it he said well yes if possible. So with holding the qué up I said I cannot find it so I will just order, I ordered and got charged the full price, which I wouldn't of minded if he had to scan the email like a lot of these pub chains usually have a barcode, but with past experience been here before with email I know they only look at it and give you 30 percent off no barcode required, so I was quite annoyed that he couldn't of said oh well as gesture you cannot find the email I will take 30 percent off. It's not like it was a secret they advertised on the internet stating that they have 30 percent off mains 😡 just saying I thought it was a bit unnecessary

nice atmosphere (apart from a large table of diners with screaming kids 🥴) enjoyed a very tasty carvery, veg needed to be a bit warmer but was delicious all the same. staff very accommodating in changing my rocky road sunday so it didn't have chocolate ice cream but gave me extra vanilla 😋 will definitely visit again sometime.

Went for carvery tonight with 30%off voucher. Forgot to use the code when placing the order but before we ate spoke to the guy who had served me to say. Now had this been good service he would have refunded the transaction and reprocessed it with the discount but he did nothe just said it's too late! Strike one! Noone serving at the meat counter so kept waiting. Veg and potatoes not of usual quality. Ordered dessert. Sponge nuked too long and was dry and hard with a tiny dribble of custard. All in all very disappointing and not the place it used to be. Red Sails....pull your socks up!

Friendly and efficient staff, vegetarian options for carvery. Lots of choice for drinks as well.

We were a party of 10. The wait for food from ordering was 40 mins. Some of our group had ordered carvery's so we're told to go up when they were told. That was when they were about to bring all our meals. The carvery people did not get back to the table until we were nearly halfway through our meals. I ordered a mixed grill. The steak was stone cold. The chicken was stone cold. The gammon was hot. The chips were hot. The mushrooms were cold. The peas were cold. I ordered a side of onion rings which were just warm. The two sausages one was mushy pale and virtually raw. As portion of chips one had were also cold. Another mixed grill was like warm. The manager said all food is temp probed before leaving the kitchen but I'm sorry we were 5 feet from the kitchen. He offered me a free desert as goodwill gesture which I accepted. But for food that looked great and tasted fine apart from cold it was a letdown.

Thanks to my steak being cooked to perfection by Paddy and excellent service by Keisha! I will definitely be returning back to Red Sails.

The carvery is the best in town!!!

Firstly the glasses for our drinks were in desperate need of a polish. Clearly the glass wash was not up to scratch. Secondly, we ordered garlic mushrooms, and popcorn chicken starters. Fortunately I'm not vegetarian as I popped a gallon mushroom in my mouth too find out it was a chicken popper. Clearly no separation of vegetarian food. Finally, the mains of pies arrived at the table. The pie crust was very thick, doughy and undercooked. And the gravy hasn't been heated at all. The little gravy jugs fill of stone cold gravy were dumped on the plates and literally plopped onto my daughter's plate. No offers were made to remedy the situation except to fetch more gravy. The only real concern is that I might have been vegetarian.

We come here a lot and the food is always great and Keisha our server was great as well.

Lovely place for a relaxing family meal. Staff attentive without hovering. Carvery a little cool but delicious. The vegetable provincial goes really well with mashed potatoes. Combine that with the cauliflower cheese and you have a tasty meal.

Stop serving food before 8 because it was quite. Even thou their website states 10 for food service. Was also given two different reasons why food had stopped as we left. Very poor.

Had the large carvery and I found it rather disappointing mainly due to the amount of meat you got . I honestly think 2 very small slices for a large is poor . I've not been for a few yrs but I can honestly see the difference, and compared to other carvery places it is below par .

Went last night with friends from work, had the chicken Tikka Masala, which was really good but, the nan bread was far too doughy, needed longer in the oven, drinks expensive!!
