Great food and fantastic service like always. Food is great value and generous portions and amazing puddings. Will definitely be back!

Red Sails is a great pub with friendly, helpful staff. The carvery is good but I think they could do better with the other food on the menu.

Food was tasty, had a carvery but only got 2 slices of meat which considering they had 3 meats out and you could've asked for some of each, I thought was a bit unusual, I've always been given 3 slices wherever I've had a carvery before. Veg was nice but roasties were a bit anaemic. Gravy was banging though. Had a bit of an issue with my drink service but the manager apologised and was happy to put it right, as it should be. Great customer service in the end. Would go again.

Comida encantadora como siempre. Todos teníamos el carvery. La única desventaja era la mesa donde la salsa y las salsas se mantienen tenía varias moscas zumbando alrededor. La salsa estaba en una olla con tapa pero las salsas no. Más que un poco fuera de lugar y todos elegimos tener nuestra carne asada sin rábano picante.

Awful greasy carvery. Not to the usual high standard. Left most of it. Don't know why as never previously had a bad meal. Such a shame that the place looks like it needs an update. Toilets need a good clean and a revamp. Sadly won't be back.

Nice pub with a tasty carvery. The carvery had a good selection of meat and sides. Everything was well cooked and seasoned.

Have been visiting red sails weekly for the last 3 months having the carvery each time. Each meal up until tonight has been great quality and good value for money. Tonight our meal was lukewarm and seemed reheated, the roasties were stale and the meat reheated either by microwave or another means leaving it dry and tasteless. I really rate the carvery here but tonight was a great disappointment. I understand times are particularly difficult in the hospitality industry but serving substandard food doesn't help. I will go again next week hoping that tonight was an aberration.

Lovely meal wasn't too busy so nice relaxed atmosphere. Scarlett was lovely and couldn't do more for us. Lovely meal.

Had a lovely time as always, the kebab and chips if you have yet to try it is well worth a go (I'd recommend garlic mayo with the beef/lamb). As for dessert, I usually would opt for the apple crumble, sherry cheesecake, or jam sponge. However, today I opted for the sundae, and it was lovely (Even if not as giant as the old ones). Service, was ok. Some staff sounded shattered already, and others like the lovely Scarleh (sorry Scarlett... You write like me 😛) where more vibrant. All in all, a very good experience. Atmosphere could do with light mood music or TVs for a bit of background sound away from the odd upset kid. As always, I look forward to coming in and seeing you all again... Oh, and I guess having some more food & drink too. 🤗🩷

Took my dad for a lunchtime carvery, Scarlett looked after us, very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, all in all a very nice visit and can say we've never had a bad experience there, all the staff are pleasant and helpful.

First visit since the new menu was introduced, an amazing improvement on the prior food selection. Amazing service from scarlet, very knowledgeable, good humour and a sweet young woman in general, toilets however could do with a bit more attention when cleaning

Thursday again went shopping on Hessle Road only this time I was alone wifes got a poorly leg, go to Red Sails for your dinner Sammy will look after you, so I did and Sammy made sure I was alright, it's not just the food we go for but the staff as well, they make us pensioners welcome

Excellent food and service , did not take long to be served. Vast selection on the roast dinner with hot food throughout the buffet. Would definitely recommend to a friend if you enjoy a homely meal with a great atmosphere. Served by Rosie who was polite and to the point , really appreciated the service.

I came back and had the carvery as promised, had some top banter with supervisor Sammy at the bar, another reason to return. I was easily persuaded to get a dessert by Ellie P so I got the cookie brownie. Had a nice day and nice food. I'll be back.

We go in on a Thursday we always have a lovely greeting from Sammy . Good food grest atmosphere will carry on going.

Met up with a friend on 10th April and we both had a carvery. Absolutely delicious food which was served piping hot. The pub was warm and welcoming and the staff friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning.

Sadly not the best, booked for 5 people, went up for our carvery, upon receiving our meat we were told there was no yorkshire puddings or stuffing. He said he would make sure they would come to our table one ready. Got to the veg and to be honest was like a car crash, cabbage mixed with mash, peas in with the carrots etc ,people using same spoon for everything. Sat down and we had to go back after 10mins for yorkshires as they failed to materialise leaving our meals to go cold. Not a great experience for a family meal. Will not be rushing to come back

Just eaten at the Red sails, we ordered from the Lunch Deal menu. I had garemmon steak with egg, chips, peas and grilled tomato also a side of mushrooms. Just the right size of plate. For afters I had jam sponge with custard.+++ The only thing to make the meal better for me, replace the chips with potato wedges.

First time being back since the food menu change and I have got to say what a vast improvement. New menu is amazing we had the hot dog, popcorn chicken mac and cheese with a staring shearer of bbq pulled pock loaded fries. It has vastly been improved in quality and staff are always amazing and friendly. Like we will start going back now after this. All the staff today was amazing and we was served by Ebony who was amazing. Thank you 😊

The free Bluey meet and greet was wonderful and our little girl lit up when she saw her favourite character walk in! A big thank you to Sammy and Ebony for this.

We had a lovely experience meeting Bluey before our lunch. The staff, Sammy and Ebony were brilliant with the children. The food was lovely and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Pleasant, but the bar staff were a bit noisy, The carvery was pleasant, but nothing to write home about, the beef was tastless and very tough, the vegtables were luke warm ( it was a cold day) the sponge pudding was freshely microwaved and literally took the roof of your mouth off and the coffee was luke warm, all in all not worth the thirty pounds for two people, but after all it was just a cheap pub meal.

Red Sails has tasty food, quick service and loving staff. A good sign is that some days (mostly the Weekend), the pub is very packed, which is a very good sign. Would recommend this if you were going to a pub in Hull.

Ordered sunday roast beef girl who took order was unable to process this on till she couldn't find it ordered coffee was told coffee machine not working so we didn't order anything walked out incompetent staff don't know what they are doing advice please do not enter this pub

In general it was good. The Resturante was fairly busy which is a good sign in general. The ordering at the table is a great idea so you don’t have To line up to order. Food came out fairly quickly and was all nice food. The waitress didn’t bring our drinks over with the starter but later came over to apologise as there was a problem with the drink I had ordered so she soon corrected it with another one and our drinks were then delivered. Prices I didn’t think were too bad either and portions were big enough. Service was a bit slow for picking up used plates but they seem to have enough staff to keep asking if everything was ok. That maybe needs switching around a bit. But all in all I would say Good. 👍

Had the carvery at 13.30 and got barely 2 slithers of beef. The beef was the driest I have ever had and was inedible as was the stuffing. The food was well under the required 63• (as required by law) We mentioned it to the young waitress who was lovely. The manager came and we found her to be rude and uninterested. We left feeling unsatisfied with the food and annoyed by the service.

Excellent visit, both of us had the carvery and it was very good quality. We had a discount code for our 1st time visit and enjoyed the venue. However as this is a destination pub , Restaurant, I don't think I would pay the full price. Still worth a visit if you fancy a decent meal.

Haven't been to red sails for awhile, visited today so updating my review. Food was OK ish, very tight on meat, which at £13.99 each, I would expect more than a wafer slice of beef, and gammon covered in fat. Don't think I'll bother again.

Carvery was awful small amount of Turkey was very dry hard pieces and my 2 roast potatoes hard and greasy, carrot and turnip very watery, My 3 carrots greasy and awful , about 12 peas were hard, 3 bits of cauliflower hard and tasteless in fact only thing that had taste was stuffing and cranberry sauce yorkie was okay ish , waitress asked if everything was OK so we said no she asked why so we told her she apologised and asked if she could replace anything but no point if don't like it first time round she went away then we saw manager come take bit of this and that from the food area, then he came to table we had to explain everything again and of course he said he had tried it and had been fine but not the cauliflower as he didn't like it but he couldn't cut through mine with a knife he tried lol, he said everything is cooked properly and they put oil on their food anyway after being spoken too like we were children he said could he offer a pudding we declined and will not go back we have only been 3 times and only once was it nice his attitude towards any complaint stinks we spent £43 for a couple of mouthfuls between us !!!

We visited this establishment and ordered the Carvery meal, staff was friendly whilst ordering and whilst serving the food, The waitress came around whilst we was eating our meal's to ask if everything is satisfactory, unfortunately we explained No the food was cold and hard particular certain vegetables, waterey or greasy and was not finished due to this. Has customer's I feel a opinion can be left and not expected to be given a lecture from the manager how the food is cooked and how there was nothing wrong with the food as it had been tasted by himself, We paid for the meals and expected no replacement of food or cake offered free of charge , we did not expect a refund either, but I do feel a acceptence of how our food today was or even a apology would of been acceptable off the manager when he came to the table instead of being made to feel that we was in the wrong for daring to speak up and questioned in detail about everything we had tried. We will not visit again not just because of the food but also due to how you dealt with the situation, the manager seriously needs to approach customers better , I feel if it was 3 younger men sitting at the table instead of 3 middle aged women the confrontation by the manager to our table if any would of been different I dare to say! If I do receive response to my review left kindly refrain from responding with further attitude .

Carvery vegetables lovely but meat very sparing. Chose turkey which was very dry and crumbled and the beef was also very dry and chewy and had a very peculiar taste which as a roast beef lover made me wonder if it was off! Visited Friday lunch so maybe weekend is better?
