Friendly staff .Good service. Only downside had carvery, not bad but the beef was uneatable all grisle .told member of staff and was told chef apologised

I have been to red sails plenty of times and never had any problems staff are always nice and polite and the food I have ever had from there has always been great. But one thing I would like to complain about is today I went at lunch time with my mam, as I had said I had received an email with 30 percent of food which red sails do quite often. Picked a table and started to look for my email saying about the 30 percent of mains, couldn't find it as it was one day last week I received it. But I knew it hadn't finished it was on until the 30 th September 2024, so I went to the bar and I explained to the man that I was trying to find my email for the 30 percent off main meals. but couldn't find it I said do you have to see it he said well yes if possible. So with holding the qué up I said I cannot find it so I will just order, I ordered and got charged the full price, which I wouldn't of minded if he had to scan the email like a lot of these pub chains usually have a barcode, but with past experience been here before with email I know they only look at it and give you 30 percent off no barcode required, so I was quite annoyed that he couldn't of said oh well as gesture you cannot find the email I will take 30 percent off. It's not like it was a secret they advertised on the internet stating that they have 30 percent off mains 😡 just saying I thought it was a bit unnecessary

Thanks to my steak being cooked to perfection by Paddy and excellent service by Keisha! I will definitely be returning back to Red Sails.

We were a party of 10. The wait for food from ordering was 40 mins. Some of our group had ordered carvery's so we're told to go up when they were told. That was when they were about to bring all our meals. The carvery people did not get back to the table until we were nearly halfway through our meals. I ordered a mixed grill. The steak was stone cold. The chicken was stone cold. The gammon was hot. The chips were hot. The mushrooms were cold. The peas were cold. I ordered a side of onion rings which were just warm. The two sausages one was mushy pale and virtually raw. As portion of chips one had were also cold. Another mixed grill was like warm. The manager said all food is temp probed before leaving the kitchen but I'm sorry we were 5 feet from the kitchen. He offered me a free desert as goodwill gesture which I accepted. But for food that looked great and tasted fine apart from cold it was a letdown.

Firstly the glasses for our drinks were in desperate need of a polish. Clearly the glass wash was not up to scratch. Secondly, we ordered garlic mushrooms, and popcorn chicken starters. Fortunately I'm not vegetarian as I popped a gallon mushroom in my mouth too find out it was a chicken popper. Clearly no separation of vegetarian food. Finally, the mains of pies arrived at the table. The pie crust was very thick, doughy and undercooked. And the gravy hasn't been heated at all. The little gravy jugs fill of stone cold gravy were dumped on the plates and literally plopped onto my daughter's plate. No offers were made to remedy the situation except to fetch more gravy. The only real concern is that I might have been vegetarian.

The carvery is the best in town!!!

Lovely place for a relaxing family meal. Staff attentive without hovering. Carvery a little cool but delicious. The vegetable provincial goes really well with mashed potatoes. Combine that with the cauliflower cheese and you have a tasty meal.

Really impressed and we get to re charge our car whilst enjoying the carvery

Stop serving food before 8 because it was quite. Even thou their website states 10 for food service. Was also given two different reasons why food had stopped as we left. Very poor.

Went last night with friends from work, had the chicken Tikka Masala, which was really good but, the nan bread was far too doughy, needed longer in the oven, drinks expensive!!

Had the large carvery and I found it rather disappointing mainly due to the amount of meat you got . I honestly think 2 very small slices for a large is poor . I've not been for a few yrs but I can honestly see the difference, and compared to other carvery places it is below par .

I had the carvery..the beef wasn't the nicest as it was rather dry..the gammon was nice but on the fatty side...I bought 3 meals (2 carvery and 1 chicken tika) and 3 drinks...the meal came to around £40 so for 1 large wine and 1 pint of san Miguel and an apple juice it came to £26...it was a nice relaxed atmosphere and service was quick BUT..the price I paid for a mediocre lunch for 3 definitely wasn't worth the money..there's far far better places in Hull for a banging Sunday lunch..unfortunately this isn't one of them

Food on point, not particularly busy a few covers being served. Really poor service from the guy behind the bar. Everything a customer came near the bar he disappeared for 5mins only used 1 till and spent more time talking to another member of staff then dealing with customers.

The server (Elisia) was very sweet, very respect full and helpful. The food was fantastic. The chef who served me the carvery was very kind and gave me extra bits of the cut off meat bit when i asked. Overall, a great meal and great experience.

Had a carvery and they are very economical with their slices(more like a sliver) roast potatoes some not cooked all the way through and not crispy,veg ok albeit hit and miss again. Puddings dry and not worth £6.99 each. Altogether for the prices very disappointing 😞 would not recommend here.

Good food, great service from Ebony, quiet period, but that isn't a bad thing

We often pop here from our office as it's nearby ,but after what un-folded in front of us & within earshot we certainly shall never be going again. The assistant manager really needs managing himself, how he spoke to a young staff memeber, even though it was overheard by us, or indeed if he had words this way in private, was wholly repugnant. I would think that staff turnover, because of his bullying ways will be high, a damging aspect in it's entirety to any organisation? I appreciate at busy times things may get stressfull, but no excuse for this type of behavoiur, in any workplace, especiaaly towards a young person starting out in this industry. Myself, a business unit leader, I do know this aggresive victorian style of 'managing' can be damaging to any brand, as the young person who received his unwarranted backlash will in-turn tell their friends & family & it is human nature that they undoubtedly will not be future returning customers. This is a shame, but many other places nearby we can go to without encountering this cringeworthy behaviour. My colleague is contacting the chains owners.

Been into the Red Sails for our tea. Turkey carvery and gammon carvery. It was spot on the meat melted in your mouth it was beautiful. Shout out to the chefs. We had great service by Keisha, kept checking we were alright and if we needed anything she was very friendly and efficient. Thank you 👍 xx

Visited this Thursday for an impromptu evening out as a couple and really fancied a carvery. Pub wasn't massively busy and once we'd ordered using the QR code, drinks were quick to arrive. The veg selection at the carvery counter wasn't exactly extensive but what we had was OK. Biggest issue for us was that the spuds and veg weren't all that warm which is a pretty basic standard. Won't be rushing back.

We called here recently and after a miserable meal near Lincoln in a Marstons bar and were a bit hesitant when we saw it was the sane chain, but we recieved a lovely friendly welcome. We ordered the same meal and this time we were delighted how so much better it had been than at the previous location. It arrived quickly and tasted good. The staff were friendly and efficient. Thus time I didn't begrudge the cost as it was well worth it

Not been for a while but glad to discover Red Sails is still top quality in food and service we remembered, the 3 meats on the carvery are cooked to perfection. The floor layout is great with areas for families , large and small groups, couples and tables for those wanting a quieter experience. Service fast and prices are reasonable. Would definately recommend a visit
