Not the cleanest of places , food was ok not a lot on the plate , but the staff where brilliant super helpful and friendly atmosphere was great too

The customer service was brilliant, friendly, calm, knowledgeable. We booked a table, it was busy so I’m very glad we did. The table was in the doorway so quite drafty, so will definitely request not to be in the doorway in the future. Being out of the main restaurant area did mean we could hear each other talk. Lovely evening - thank you.

Lovely little pub, serving good quality food in a timely manner. All the staff are so polite and friendly which in all makes for a great guest experience. Was recommended the "lay it on chick" burger which did not disappoint and it's my go-to when visiting. Never had an issues and couldn't recommended the place more!

¿Qué queremos de un pub? Personal acogedor sonriente que se esfuerza por hacerte feliz y cómodo. Tengo una cosa sobre las mesas pegajosas, no aquí. El personal siempre anda por ahí limpiando y limpiando las mesas. La atmósfera es insuperable. Pensamos que la dirección era personal, se arremangan y trabajan junto al personal. La comida es caliente y sabrosa. Las bebidas resbalan maravillosamente. Vamos a celebrar mi gran cumpleaños allí en abril, con toda nuestra familia. Mi suegra cumplió 104 años en el Nacional. No podíamos creer las molestias que se habían tomado. Decoraciones flores pancartas, vasos con servilletas dobladas, manteles blancos prensados. Lo hicieron porque querían. Hicieron muy feliz a una anciana. Le dieron un vaso de jerez cuando se sentó. Todo esto sin cargo adicional. Muchas gracias por ser todo lo que sus clientes podrían querer en un pub.

The chicken tikka was great. The Caesar Salad wasn't right but the staff quickly corrected the mistake. Thanks a lot - great value for money!

Mi esposa y yo reservamos una función en The National para que familiares y amigos se reunieran después de un funeral. Stuart y el equipo no podría haber sido más servicial. Teníamos una habitación para nosotros con un bar e incluso baños privados. El buffet era increíble, muy abundante, variado y sabroso. No podríamos haber estado más contentos y recomendaríamos el lugar sin dudarlo.

A nice local place for lunch or a quick drink. There's always plenty of seating and the staff are friendly. The toilets are clean and there's also plenty of tables outside for that summertime stop off.

Bueno, ¿qué podemos decir de esta joya de un pub, Nos mudamos a la zona y hemos estado en semana durante los últimos 6 meses, todo el equipo de gestión , el personal del bar y los chefs, la comida Dale es sin duda uno de los mejores, El servicio es puntual y el ambiente de los lugareños es muy acogedor. Asistimos anoche para Curry para dos, que era el lugar en, el personal del bar y Stu donde agradable y alegre, además de tener un gran tiempo por todos en el pub. Traer el Año Nuevo fue brillante y el DJ tocó una buena mezcla de género, así que todos se levantaron cantando y bailando. Tuvimos un año nuevo fabuloso, bien hecho Team National. Feliz año nuevo 2025 a todos ustedes.

Después de que me mintieran y me disculpara me quité la revisión de esta vista, pero no he tenido gracias por mi generosidad a pesar de contactar con ellos dos veces para hacerles saber mis acciones

Just had a fantastic 3 course christmas meal. Excellent service by helpful staff. The food , especially the salmon, which I had, was excellent. The baileys sweet was to die for! Amazing value for money as well! Who could ask for more?!!

Great friendly staff decent food and good atmosphere

Pre booked a table. Good range of food available. I had the sirloin steak which was lovely. Did order it to be cooked medium, but came well done though. All the other items on the sizzling skillet was great Chicken dish was good alongside cheesey chips. Good service with a smile. Enjoyed the meal and reasonably priced so not disappointed at all. Will visit again.

Service was slow. Fish wasn't cooked enough for me. Certainly wasn't haddock or cod either.

Great local family boozer. And anyone's welcome. We had a meal for four and all enjoyed everything. Unfortunately, we had to leave as our son had a trapped nerve in his neck, which was upsetting him.. The wonderful bar lady brought us some icepack for his neck, which helped. And offered out food to be boxed. Which was so kind of her. We've been before and definitely retuning. Thanks all.

You'd think even a simple pub chain would cater for those with food allergies, sadly this pub doesn't! while my friends were fine and drooling over the menu I sadly had to get up and leave there was Nothing on the menu I could eat without being unwell afterwards. And yeah I know its a pub but do you have to have the big screen playing sport so loud!, its very off putting to go out for a meal and have to listen to football on full volume. I do think some Bain Marie's and self catering would be a much better option but that's my option.

Visited this evening… beautiful meal and service. Friendly and warm. Our waiter was Harry, pleasant young man. Very obliging. Thank you will visit again.

A great local, food is from a recognizable sizzler menu but it's consistently well cooked. Service is great and they pull a top pint of Guinness! 👍

Sunday lunch. The National is a typical larger pub and eatery. The place is used as an event place, has outside and inside area. Good pub atmosphere, very popular place.

We quite often pop here to meet my wife's sisters and inlaws. We have a catch up a few drinks and some nice food. And a game of pool. What else do you need. Friendly staff and locals.

1st and last time here food was burned and lettuce looked like it was left out for a week and then some old guy looking over just cos kids but loud

Terrible food order messed up several times, portions the size of rations, food placed on end of table which we had to serve ourselves safe to say we won't be back

The National pub is my local, good choice of drinks, food and seating areas, it has a bar and separate lounge areas. The staff are great, I usually contact Emily who is always helpful if I need to book a table if a few of us are attending. I went in on Saturday night to see a local band and also had a free cocktail due to the sizzling pub app rewards. Another plus point is the pub uses charged up, for £3 you can access a power bank that will charge any phone for an hour, this is a great idea as my phone had died and needed charging. Keep up the good work, thanks 👍

Food was great although service on the other hand was atrocious even from the beginning with the attitude of the female bar staff that served us.My son then got his meal and politely asked for some bbq sauce and a young lady behind the bar said she would have to charge for a little pot of it even though every other time before last we hadn't had to but we had this problem last time but the manager kindly just gave us it with no problem but this time she went into the kitchen and said she couldn't give my son any so he asked for the manager again so she went and came back with a pot of it and said I've been told to give you this and practically threw it at him! Just thought the attitude was completely unnecessary.

Best pub in my area Hands down! The staff are very friendly and professional,Myself and my family go in quite frequently and it never fails to impress me.its the place we’re all are welcome and the staff will go out there way to make sure your time in the establishment is welcoming and all needs are catered for. The food in very good quality and at a competitive Price to! I usually get the mega mixed grill and it is always delicious they are blessed to have such a good chef on in the kitchen. Food is ok for pub food, altho portions have got really small for the price you pay. Had to pay extra for small pot of bbq sauce never have I had this anywhere else. Overall Not as good as it use to be.

Took my daughter and 2 year old granddaughter here with my wife after a couple of hours at Big Fun soft play down the road. We arrived before opening time at 12 noon so place was quiet. My daughter is celiac and while the menu does not have z separate section for gluten free, the lady serving was extremely helpful in choosing what was available. Wife and I had 2 for £11 from the menu available between 12 and 4. Children's meal was less than £3 so even with mixed grill and 4 drinks total was £31. If we lived closer would definitely use this place again

We called up last minute for table for 9 people and it did not disappoint! The service was great and the food was amazing! All the 9 meals came at the same time and was delicious. Will definitely be going back to this pub. Thank you 😊

We rocked up about 7.45pm after the driving range and luckily made it in time for food as they closed the kitchen at 8pm, bought the chef a pint to say thanks for staying late. Food was good, steak was tough and couldn't chew it, just a bad cut unfortunately. Rest of the plate was delicious. Management made us desserts which we were thankful for, not many people in so atmosphere was a bit rubbish but wellbeing back to visit again, the tandoori chicken looks amazing, got my eyes on that one next time! The dessert was so good too!

Popped in with family as we were recommended to come here as the food and team are awesome- which we do absolutely 100% agree on, the team were friendly and welcoming even tho they were busy with they managed to seat us. We will definitely be back

Went to the national pub/food in Hull for a meal, the wife had the steak and chicken combo and I had the dirty dawg and boy o boy both meals were absolutely top notch would definitely come again and absolutely recommend anyone around Hull/Lincolnshire to come and try the grub great food and decent prices.

This has become our local since we moved to the area some months ago and we are really happy with it. The staff are very attentive, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is nice. I gave 4 stars to the food as I think that they could be a bit more 'coeliac-friendly' and have more options for people who needs to eat without gluten.

The national is a mock Tudor former bass pub built in the 1930s during the golden age of pub building. It's still has a cosy bar with pool table, dart board And jukebox. There is a large separate L-shaped Lounge, set out for dining, I have been to a lot of lunches here with colleagues and the staff have always been very accommodating and welcoming. There is a wide range of beers, lagers and ciders, but sadly no cask conditioned real ale. The food has always been excellent. There is a large car park on both sides of the pub and the nice outside seating area for summer.

Food is fantastic always fresh, good value. Familys are always welcome with a nice atmosphere. Always clean and tidy. Staff very polite and attentive will be back again and again

It's a nice cosy family pub. Everything you'd want for an evening meal out, when you don't want to cook it do the washing up just to be told they don't like it! 😂 Ample choice for all types of eaters and what you would expect from a sizzling pub. Do your self a favour, and get the app. There's some cracking deals on it, that make it even better value for money.

Went for lunch with a friend and the team were great. We were served quickly by Anna at the bar and even my friend's fussy order was no problem at all. The food was fantastic although our eyes were bigger than our bellies so we couldn't manage a dessert. We will have to try the desserts next time.

All the food was lovely and hot when served to our table. Staff were friendly, smiley and helpful. Will return for another meal at some point.

My first visit and was glad to see it was a sizzling pub as my local one closed and changed hands a few years ago, so I had the chance of ordering my favourite mixed grill. They only told me about the longish wait for food after ordering but it was worth the wait and no mistake. My girlfriend had the tikka curry and said the same. For chain pub food I honestly think Sizzling pubs are a cut above with quality and value but the National excelled. My only moan was the lack of a cask beer on my visit but a reasonably priced bottle of Newcastle's finest was a decent substitute. We will certainly return if they'll have us back.

We always catch up for a visit at the national with family as we always receive brilliant service from all team members. The food is always amazing-never a complaint! The team always know when we’d like another drink and what we drink too!

Great Wake for our family member, fantastic buffet and service

I went with my girls over the weekend. Not only was the food excellent, the chef who brought it, Dave, I believe. Took the time to talk with my littlle girls. He was even able to convinced them to try a pea. Something, I have never being able to do. That said all the staff were fantastic. The bar manager (Stu I heard him being called) had a giggle with my little girls. Asking if they were old enough to drink fruit shoots. Then proceeded to make them laugh more. Because of this my girls have asked to eat there again next weekend. Because "of the bar man that made them laugh". It's a very friendly, and inviting pub. Would recommend to friends and family.
