The Olives Multi Cuisine & Cocktail Bar in Dudley

The environment was exceptional, and the food was of the highest quality. However, I must commend our server, who was both polite and professional. He took the time to educate us about each dish, explaining the ingredients and advising us on what to avoid due to allergies. It was a special date night, and he truly made it memorable. It is street side parking, 🅿️ I am planning to make a reservation in October for Christmas dinner, as he mentioned that there will be set dinner options available. Additionally, I noticed there is a fire exit separate from the front door, and CCTV is in operation for safety. Facilities for children, including high chairs, are also provided. The fire point is fully equipped and up to date. Overall, I felt safe, comfortable, and thoroughly relaxed during my visit.

Indian food was very tasty and not too hot. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food arrived fast, but not rushed. The bar wasn't very full but I was eating early 7pm on a Wednesday.

Thank you to all of your team! Me and my friend came for a meal last night and we will be back soon. The service we received was amazing and the food was phenomenal. We had a sharing platter for starter and a whole host of plates and dishes for mains. It well and truly beat me but I couldn't stop eating. Facilities were all immaculate. We were staying in Dudley to visit the zoo and the Black Country Museum. We fancied a curry and decided to take a chance on Olives . Being mid week there were not many in the restaurant but it turned out to be a great choice . We had mango lassi’s , shared sharing plate for staters and then shared a dosa and a biryani. We had a good meal which was great value and we enjoyed talking to some of the regulars and the owners . All told a great evening

I regret to place my review here as my recent dining experience wasn't great and it fell far short of expectations. Firstly, the waiter server's aggressive behavior was highly unpleasant and detracted from the overall ambiance. Additionally, both dishes I ordered, Idli and Cheese Omelette, were tainted by hair — one dish had a sizable piece while the other had a smaller strand. Despite bringing this to the attention of the receptionist, I was not happy by her dismissive response, as she said she couldn't see the issue. She charged me £7 for a normal Omelette without chips. I just paid for it and left the place. This was my most dissatisfied experience. As a result, I have no intention of returning, despite initially being drawn by positive reviews. It's disheartening to note that the restaurant's empty state contradicts the praise it has received on reviews, indicating a significant disparity between reputation and reality.

In my opinion, the best Indian food in the area . The price of the food is very reasonable considering the quality of the food.

I have always had a good experience with this restaurant and I feel bad about writing this review but I feel this is the easiest way to send feedback, so here goes: Chicken dosa - lacked chicken, I. Know becase i have had this from here before Keema dosa - never had before, but far too much potatoe. May as well not be a Keema dosa Chicken madras - just the spice in wanted but the pieces of chicken were like pop corn chicken, very small and not blended in with curry. Clearly adding to madras sauce, I'm sure all restaurants do this but this was too obvious. Some of the pots of dips/sauce were only half full! Not sure if I will order again. I have had a sit down meal here before, Standards have dropped significantly.. All the best

food was not good at all, especially the veg korma . it tasted smoke as if the whole curry was burnt.chicken lolipop had weird oily taste. i have been frequently ordering from here but the quality and taste has gone down due to some reason. I will not recommend.

Ordered chicken Tikka biriani but did not hav saurce with the order. Whenever I been to restaurants when I ordered biriani u always get a separate source with it.

Although we couldn't order what we set out minds to: no chapatis or bhuna on the menu, also run out of paneer... The food we ordered was amazing. Staff were very friendly. I could not see the toilets.

I made a drinks order to which I received something they decided to give me in place of my order, and they failed to let me know my drink was not available. I had to ask a second time before I was told that my drink was not available. As for food, it's been a long wait so far. Plates came out with one dirty n had to be changed. Once the food came out, it definitely made up for the rest. The food was amazing.

Well what can I say? The food here is amazing. I had Goan fish curry it was so tasty. The peshawari naan was the best we have ever tasted. The curry was top notch too. The staff are so friendly and helpful too. Leena,I hope I've spelt that right couldn't do enough for us. Thank you. Just because it's in Dudley don't be put off. Eat in its worth it! What a find, in Dudley for a convention, accommodation very close by, wanted to eat a good meal after a day’s travel, and wow we got just what we wanted, excellent service great choice of dishes available and well priced. We will be back in Dudley early next year, we will be heading straight to this restaurant for food and good service.

Food was cold chicken tikka masala very spicy

As an retired Indian chef, I have to say we have had the best Indian food outside of a Indian family home at Olives, the food is not your average curry house and having eaten at Asma Khan's Darjeeling express in London I can confidently say it is up to the same high standard of flavours. The chef has trained with Michellin star chefs from Barcelona so has also included some tapas dishes on the menu, something you don't normally see, Indian food and Spanish tapas food in one place, we hope to try that next time. Do go you won't be disappointed. Service was very good too. They were happy to allow us to bring in a birthday cake.

Great place for trying South Indian food as well as the 'usual' curries of which there is a good variety. There is a well stocked bar and prices are very reasonable. What drew me here were the Dosa's. We had starters of Pani Puri that got our tastebuds firing as well as the Chicken 65 which was tasty. For mains I ordered the Onion Rava Dosa, my wife had a Chicken Dosa and my daughter the Paneer Dosa - They were perfectly prepared with perfectly crisp crepes filled generously with accompanying chutnies and sambar. These were very filling and not too spicy. The staff were super friendly and courteous. I would definitey recommend this place as it offers great value for money.

Went tonight (4/8/23) with my friend Yogi and the service and the food were outstanding. I shall be bringing my friends and won’t be eating any where else now I’ve found this gem of a restaurant. Parking at rear. Couldn’t do enough to make us welcome. Family atmosphere, children’s option and welcomed. Not rowdy but quiet and sophisticated. 10/10 from me - Debbie x

Absolutely beautiful food,freshly made and absolutely delicious. There are so many things to choose from deciding was difficult and I was unsure If they could offer multiple cuisines to a high standard but they blew my expectations out of the water. Would definitely come again, loved my food and was genuinely very impressed.

Surprised to see such high ratings and reviews, the food is quite average, majority of our dishes weren't good, we went at lunchtime and it was relatively quite still the food took a long time to come, mango lassi poor, rava dosa not cooked properly, uttapam mix not fermented so flat and chewy, chicken noodle was sweet had ketchup type sauce in it, butter chicken gravy not correct had added red colour in the chicken. Your average type fare, nothing special. Service on the other hand was great, Jatin who served us is an asset and works with enthusiasm, that was the only saving grace. I have to be careful in future about simply following Google review and visiting a restaurant.

Tried the Olives for a friend's birthday as we'd heard good things. It was amazing. The food is to die for and the service was brilliant. They couldn't do enough for you. Definitely the best Asian food around in Dudley.

This was a great little restaurant on Dudley High Street 👌🏽 food was delicious and service was fantastic. We will definitely be going back with friends and family. Our only recommendation would be that they play Indian music instead of English pop music- is doesn’t suit the restaurant.

We tried mysore masala dosas, masala dosa, idly vada, chicken tikka masala with butter naan, every dish was pretty good. But the shows topper is mysore masala dosa. It tasted really really good and is a must try.

Lovely food and the Dosa was fabulous🙂. However, the Biryani did have a small stone in the rice, which looked like a dried apricot stone.

Food is tasting fresh but there seems to be inconsistency with spiciness. My meal was inedible due to being far too hot and I only order items which aren't usually extremely hot. Food description should be listed on the menu with a chilli score and chefs should then adhere to this to ensure consistency with each other & over time.

We had a butter chicken curry & egg fried rice. The taste is unreal would Definitely recommend to eat here.

Terrible second time ordering know and chicken curry was like water chicken inedible and had just been pulled off a skewer that must of been pre cooked first one I ordered was fine but it's like because I didn't leave a review from first order all have been terrible since

Had really great time, Enjoyed food, Yami dosa, Pani puri! I had my main as Lamb madraz with Garlic Fried rice & my friend had Chicken tikka Masala with peshwari Nan. We both really enjoyed our time.
