Ordered a takeaway for delivery via just eat this is the first time I've ordered from here and the food was absolutely delicious will definitely be ordering again.

Visited whils working away and Amazing Main Course *****and Starter*****, chutney tray with popadums needs some work and would have given 5 stars for food but for this .. however the staff were friendly and reasonable price. Highly recommend a visit.

Me and my son-in-law stopped by for a meal while we were in the area for a wedding, the food was amazing, the staff were super friendly. We would definitely recommend Essence of India and we will return when in the area

Paid £30 for a takeaway. Don't buy the curries from here. You don't get your money's worth. They will give you max 3-4 small chicken pieces between 2 people to share and dump a whole load of curry on it to make it look like the box is full. Disappointed food quantity for the price we paid. Food tasted decent however

Good value for money food was tasty and presented well.

This is our regular restaurant. It never fails to please us. Great food and a good atmosphere. Management and staff are always very pleasant and do their best to make sure you have a good experience. Lovely dishes for all tastes. Try this at least once I'm sure you won't regret it. They have beer on draught but you can also take your own drinks if desired . Ample parking at the back of the restaurant.

Me and my family have been regular visitors to this restaurant over the last 10 years. Mo (now Kay )and his team offer simple the best Indian food I have ever tasted. As Tina Turner said.... Simply the best 🎤

We went here on Wednesday and had a lovely evening as usual. The food is always consistent and very tasty! The staff go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant experience and very friendly. I recommend it. Give it a try I'm sure you'll go back.

I cannot fault this restaurant, we have been numerous times and always great food and service. We recently celebrated my husbands 60th birthday here, there were 15 of us and they'd set the tables up for us perfect, everyone's food came out together so no one was left waiting, it was all hot and nothing was forgotten, and above all else it was all superb, every single one of us said how good it was and they all agreed they will definitely return. Staff are so friendly but keep a discreet distance whilst eating whilst at the same time making sure everything was going smoothly and that everyone had everything they needed. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The decor is great, the toilets are clean and very nicely set out. Definitely be returning very soon

I just ordered two chicKen Tikka Kurmas. The colour was a bit of putting, but I thought ok they have ran out of food colouring. I tasted it and thought, where is the flavour. Seriously, I don't like it too spicy so I like to buy suttle dishes, but this nasty looking sauce tasted of nothingness. I worked 45 hours this week, it's hot and I just wanted a yummy Indian meal. I have just been conned out of my money. The few pieces of chicken in it tasted nothing but dry, I stuck the food in my kitchen to sent it down the toilet next time. I could cry 😢

This was a really enjoyable experience. The food was wonderful, the service was faultless. We were really well looked after by Mohammed and his colleague. We stayed a couple of hours and se never felt rushed. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were staying in the area and stuck for somewhere to eat and saw all the great reviews for here and thought we'd try it out. Honestly, we were not disappointed! Best Balti I've have had for as long as I can remember. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the restaurant was spotless. There's so much choice it too me ages to decide what to have, but I haven't stopped thinking of the food and wished it was in my home area. Would really recommend it! They have lots of offers on in the week too, but this was so reasonably priced anyway. We'll go again next time we're in the Midlands.

I ordered food last night to be delivered. I've tried to call the restaurant but I've had no answer. The food has given me food poisening. I didn't eat the chicken out the curry so the poisening could have only came from the egg fried rice. I've been ill for an hour after I'd ate the food last night and still continuing to be sick. Not happy at all.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years. There is never a variation in the quality of the food and the service given. Always helpful. Advice on selections is forthcoming. I wouldn't go anywhere else around this area for an Indian meal. Large or small our party is always cared for.

A pleasure to dine at the Essence of India as usual! The food is always fresh and piping hot. It is our favourite Indian cuisine and it is topped by the wonderful service and smiles from the staff. We will continue to visit in the future!

Wednesday 4 course menu. Essence of India is my favourite Indian restaurant. Excellent value for money, generous portions, welcoming staff and beautiful food. The poppadoms are always fresh and crispy, and the pickles and sauces are delicious. I had the lamb bhuna this evening and the lamb is always beautiful and tender, not fatty or tough at all. I always enjoy the coffee and fresh pouring cream at the end of the meal. For £12 you get a starter, main and side each and a coffee. The poppadoms are a little extra but not much and totally worth it. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Thanks again for a lovely meal and evening.

My chips was cold and dry I ordered three stuffed curried nanns and they was all terrible the chicken was burnt and dry I was very disappointed 😞 I would recommend not ordering from there

I recently dined at Essence of India and felt compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, the rudeness of the staff overshadowed the tasty food. It was evident that they were judging us before even taking our orders, which made us feel unwelcome. I believe providing training on hospitality and customer service could greatly enhance the restaurant's reputation

Walking down the street you'd be unable to tell because of the humble exterior but this place is actually great. The food is fantastic, the staff is very polite and helpful and the atmosphere is nice and cosy.

Lovely meal, first time here and I am the ultimate balti connoisseur - this is one of the nicest baltis I have ever had! Prawn balti gorgeous , naan lovely as well as egg fried rice. We booked a table as it was a Saturday night and glad we did. It's BYO drinks, or you can purchase from them. Lovely service, polite and helpful. Sizzling king prawns were spot on, and Chicken Jalfrezi was hot and spicy, as it should be. Good fresh peshwari naan, dry veg curry and basmati rice were all great. Really enjoyed it and will definitely return. Booking advisable.

Staying at the Merry Hill Copthorne hotel we, as we often do when travelling,decided a local non chain restaurant would be our preferred choice for our evening meal. Essence of India, less than 10 minutes well lit walk from the hotel, lived up to its Trip Advisor rating. Great personal service was coupled with delicious food served piping hot. The mixed starter platter for two was followed by an “apna” curry that had a real depth of flavour, not just hot, but with real complex depth. The South Indian Garlic Chilli lived up to its name with toasted garlic clearly distinguishable in the sauce. Would not hesitate to return if we lived more locally and very happy to recommend to other travellers.

Just had a curry delivery, came within a good time , but curry was so watery I had to drain it down the sink , was also a chicken madrass and I've had hotter onion rings than that , the chips were basically all crispy (not very nice ) , on the other hand the naan , rice and poppadoms were nice but let's face it , can't really mess them up can you ! .
