The Olive Tree at Tates in Harrogate

I just had coffee today but have visited several times its always busy.Coffee lovely and hot and the coffee cake was lovely breakfasts are very popular with everyone .😋

Really lovely good quality food and drinks. We've eaten there a few times recently and its been fantastic each time. The staff are all very friendly, nice spacious seating, the cakes look and taste amazing and the side salads they serve with their lunch options are spot on. Nice coffee and teas. Each time we've gone there its been busy which is obviously a credit to their reputation. Close to Studley Roger deer park and Fountains Abbey. There is a public footpath that is just across the road from the garden centre which you can walk over to or from the deer park. The garden centre is good too, caters for all that you would like from a garden centre. Very dog friendly too in the garden centre and cafe, there is even a free feed and water station for them.

Only had Latte and cakes. Very nice.

Great place, Great staff, great service

I chose a posh cod fish finger sandwich to go. After 10 mins, I got my box & drove off. Upon opening my box was a full salad with dressing & my sandwich of beautiful soft brown bread with the most codliest fish fingers I've EVER had was superb! Well worth £9-50 it did me for lunch & tea 10/10 ! No photos to show as I ate it 😋

We go here every time we visit the area. The food is always excellent and the table service is very good.

Stopped here for brunch on Sunday morning. Had the Plantman's English breakfast with black pudding and poached eggs which was delicious. My wife had the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup also delicious. We were a large party of about 8 and the staff very helpfully put the tables together

Typical coffee shop type place within a garden center. Only had a fruit scone and a latte. The scone was delicious, just like I like them,which is slightly like a rock bun. The latter was super hot and to my taste exactly.

This was our first visit to the Olive Tree at Tates, and it was really good. Hopefully, we'll get back again soon for a longer visit.

Delicious fresh Battenberg cake with a glass if wine on what had been a busy day. Absolutely delicious. Easy to find empty table, great service.

Great choice for a hearty and tasty breakfast. Service was friendly and fast. American pancakes were fluffy and perfectly sweetened with fruit compote and granola. Overall fabulous food and great pricing for what you get. The only struggle we had was having to sit near doors, so it was quite cold with people coming in and out.

We found this place just because we were heading through to Northumberland and what a find! Easy to park and get the kids out, the place feels nice and the dining hall is large with plenty of seating spread apart nicely to not feel cramped. The food was brilliant and very good price for the ample portions. But the cherry on the cake for me was a baby change in the gents toilets! Fantastic! Good to see in the modern age and didn't make me feel guilty about changing my daughter's nappy in the disabled toilets! Also... Service was outstanding! Loved it!

You really can not beat this for value and quality of breakfast. It is highly popular for a reason and they do a really good job. Always attentive and friendly.

Our cycling group from Harrogate stopped for brunch today which we all enjoyed - I had a simply delicious Eggs Florentine, perfectly cooked and presented, plus a pot of tea. Service too was excellent as ever ! Great to be able to park the bikes in the courtyard too which is lovely in the summer.

So much improved compared to a previous visit. Staff outstanding. Ditto the food. Will return frequently 😎

Favourite cafe in Ripon - lovely food and lovely people

I love it here. They do the best eggs benedict around. Yesterday I tried the fish pie from the specials menu and I wasn't disappointed. Staff are always friendly and smiling. Great place for breakfast or lunch.

We’ve eaten here a few times and the food always been good. Staff are great, never keep you waiting and it’s all reasonably priced. You get a nice, big pot of tea with another big pot of hot water and everything arrives very quickly. Couple of negatives though; can be quite cold in the dining room. We don’t expect heating on a cool summer’s day but maybe close the door from the outside dining. The other thing is sweeping up when people are still eating. it’s a dog friendly place which we don’t mind as it’s a large dining room, but sweeping creates dust and dog hairs to enter the atmosphere. This really doesn’t make for a comfortable dining experience. We understand the staff will have a certain finish time, but they need to reassess the cleaning up process. The toilets are closed early too for cleaning, which only leaves the disabled toilet in use. Definitely go but not too late; we arrived at 14:55 and they were happy to accommodate us for the main menu, but they started cleaning before we got our food

Friendly staff, excellent service and possibly the best (Plantsmans) Breakfast in N Yorkshire. Good ♿ access 🐕 Dog friendly Outdoor seating as well for when the weather is nice. Can definitely recommend

I went to day with a friend . I had won the coronation afternoon tea for 2. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the afternoon tea was great plenty of savory and sweet things. Thankyou so much The olive tree at Tate's. Looking forward to going again to sample some more of your great food. X

Spacious cafe area. Good variety on the menu. Decent coffee. Car parking and can pick up some plants for the garden.

Don't go after 3.30. They spend the last half an hour before closing sweeping under tables, making noise and making guests feel uncomfortable. Mentioned it but it falls on deaf ears. They should either close earlier or wait til they are closed before cleaning up. Not well managed in that regard

Good food, plenty if it too. Lovely staff. Not overly expensive for 8 of us.

Great place for lunch and can get busy, think they should make some more effort on the garden centre presentation and offering.

For anyone wondering they have a great gluten free menu. Would definitely recommend! Lovely food and great service as always from Tracy

Absolutely amazing breakfast, definitely the best I’ve had around ripon! And a luxury hot chocolate that was definitely luxury, the staff were fabulous and polite, can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

We met friends here last week and their 2 year old is dairy & egg intolerant. The staff member who served us was unsure of the contents so referred our table to her manager. The manager went out of her way to accomodate the little man and we all had a beautiful meal. 5 stars to this team.

I normally get ask my boyfriend to bring home a takeaway smoothie as they are delicious but today we stopped in for lunch. I had the bacon Brie hot sandwich with caramelised onion chutney which tasted 👌delicious! And Thomas had eggs royale and found it enjoyable too and especially is a fan of the biscoff milkshake Everyone is friendly and obviously nice to have a wander around the shop too Side note everyone must try one of the brownies at least once 🥰

I was there today with my wife sister-in-law and brother-in-law! Whilst my wife and her sister's meal was good my brother-in-law and my self had fish and chips..... Probably the worst I've ever had.... The batter was thicker than a pie crust. It was greasy over cooked and semi warm .... I always thought you got mushy peas with fish and chips not little bullets in a small cup. End of rant!!!!

Use this café when I am out on my bike, took the Mrs there on the tandem and we were both impressed, varied menu, lots of cakes too. No idea what the plants are like.

Stopped in for a breakfast and a coffee, 10/10. Excellent customer service, quick, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was first class and top presentation. £10.95 for the breakfast but worth every penny, overall a lovely dining experience.

Amazing breakfast! Large portions and definitely worth a visit. The place looks clean and cosy and the desert menu looks even better! Will be back soon ☺️ 5*****

Nice open spaced cafe. The deserts look great, but I think again look better than they are. But saying that, they’re still nice. The coffee was nice. Nice to sit outside on the benches when sunny, and quite a modern fresh feeling inside. It is meant to be table service but this isn’t clearly identified when entering. Some clear signing or welcome when entering would help a lot
