Food was lovely and it was nice to go somewhere that didn’t just serve steak or burgers. Staff were lovely too with just the correct amount of service and speed. Definitely recommend and will go again.

After reading reviews was looking forward to visiting here, really wish I hadn’t bothered. Rude staff, substandard overpriced food…Disappointing to say the least. Would not recommend.

My wife and I had another fantastic dining experience at The Olive House last night before heading to the theatre. It's genuinely my favorite sit-down restaurant in Basingstoke. We’ve been several times now, and the food quality has been consistently excellent. We can't resist ordering the Shoarma for our main course each time – it’s so delicious that we're honestly hesitant to try anything else, fearing it might not live up to the same high standard! The flavors are always spot on. For dessert, the Baklava is a delightful treat, with each bite reminiscent of being on holiday somewhere sunny. The starters are equally impressive; I’d highly recommend trying the Lavas Bread or the Sucuk Izgara. The service is quick, and the staff are always friendly. For the two of us, including drinks, we typically spend between £70 and £100, which feels well worth it for the quality of food and experience.

My family and I came here for my birthday and it was wonderful. The food was fantastic and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. They were great with the kids too! Will definitely be coming back.

We were walk ins and were accommodated happily by friendly staff. Lovely lamb cutlets, good value for lamb, we are just back from holiday in Turkey, very authentic. We had two beers each which did bump the cost up to £80 with service included (£30 for the beer) which we thought was a bit pricey, but atmosphere and friendly staff and served quickly despite every table being occupied.

Excellent as always Went with the girls for a meal .as always we we were not disappointed .the food was tasty hot and took me back to Turkey John, the manager, is always welcoming and professional . Never been before, before you google it, this was the old hop leaf pub in Church Street . Unfortunate location with nothing else open around it but very short walk from top of town/Barclays car park. Lovely inside, clean and simple. I got the feeling it was family run. Quite a large menu but only a few (approx 10) house specials…traditional Turkish dishes…so that’s a good sign. Staff were all lovely. Service was prompt. Food was excellent, we had the vine leaves (not my favorite, I’ve had better, but husband loved them), lachmacun (excellent) and the bruschetta (average, wouldn’t choose it again). Mains we had, Izmir kofte( meatballs) absolutely superb and Osmanish lamb saute which was really really tasty. All prepared to a very high standard. Dessert was baklava which was also very good. Nice atmosphere, great food, pleasant staff and clean/comfortable all make for a good review. I dropped a star simply due to the expensive soft drinks..sadly they use bottled soda so a teeny (250ml) lime and soda cost £3.90…I paid £1.65 for a pint at the pub the day before. I’d definitely go again, nice place to go with friends.

We had an excellent experience at The Olive House. We were warmly welcomed by Gian Franco and seated beside friendly, beautiful people. Food was flavoursome and well presented. Warm and friendly atmosphere. An absolute treasure for Basingstoke.

We visited on a Wednesday Evening, and although we were late (traffic!), staff were very polite and welcoming - making you feel nothing was too much of a bother! We had a variety of dishes - all which tasted brilliant, and had lots of flavour! Only downside is it’s certainly on the pricey side, however as an independent business you can appreciate why that would be. Great restaurant, and perfect for a treat night!

A great restaurant in Church Street, Basingstoke. Staff were extremely attentive. The food was just perfect. They even went out of their way to change the sharing platter as two of us were pescatarian.

We chose The Olive Tree for our pre theatre visit lunch. What a good choice we made - the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The restaurant has a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. We were spoilt for choice with a great menu and the food we ordered was delicious and beautifully cooked. If you have room for pudding the baklava is amazing!

We had a lovely pre theatre meal here. Our food was very good; we shared a number of starters which was more than enough for us. The bread was delicious. Everyone was really friendly and the service was excellent. So nice to find a family run, authentic restaurant rather than a generic chain. Highly recommended.

Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Went pre-theatre which I thought was 8pm start but was 7.30pm. They accommodated this slightly rushed requirement will ease. Highly recommended and will go back when I have more time and can explore more if the menu.

This is a lovely restaurant and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food on offer is spectacular and really large portions, but the quality is out of this world. AMAZING!!! We made a reservation for my mum's birthday and I have to say that the whole experience was so pleasant 😊. The manager Gianfranco was the best person ever, he made the night very special he was remarkably mindful our needs. He even played peekaboo with my baby at some point.
