The good was faultless ,as one of our party was gluten free the menu was explained so nothing was left to chance and you could see food being cooked in the open kitchen

Everything here is amazing, we had 3 burgers, nacho’s, garlic bread, salt & pepper chicken and it was all fantastic, the staff were amazing, everyone was so lovely.

Food, service and beer were all good. Proper pub and no surprise that it's busy. The only mistake we made was ordering when we were hungry and having nachos to start. Filled us up and we struggled with finishing our mains. Good for kids as well, and I think it's dog friendly to.

Absolutely amazing! I spent my birthday here with my fiance and his parents, and I had an absolutely amazing time. I would recommend going out of your way to come here, even if it's just for the pork belly bites! Myself and my partner ordered multiple to make it into a meal, and they were super accommodating and happy to serve. Truly a wonderful atmosphere, amazing servers and great place to eat!

Fantastic venue for an amazing experience

After visiting for a meal in August ‘23, it was a no brainer that after booking our return to the IOW, we’d be visiting you guys again! We’ve eaten with you twice this week- on Sunday for a roast, and last night for our final meal before heading home from our holiday. Everything was just made so unbelievably easy. Nothing was too much trouble. Eating out with a child who has multiple food allergies can often seem like a chore, and I often have to carry with me food alternatives ‘just incase’- but I knew you guys would have us covered, so thank you for making our daughter feel included. She loved her specially made chicken nuggets! A wonderful chef, and a wonderful and friendly team! Hopefully see you next year!

Really accommodating, we were a large group, including children, and they were really patient, friendly and flexible. Good food, great service and very generous portion sizes.

Don’t be disturbed by the frontage. Well prepared and tasty salads, curries and burgers. They cater for dairy and gluten free. Outdoor seating the rear.

From the service to the food, everything was wonderful. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was delicious (great portion sizes & variety on menu) and my two children give a big thumbs up. Would most definitely recommend.

Last night of our holiday we thought we'd try this pub for a meal. We were looking for outdoor seating and this fitted the bill. From entering the pub you were made welcome by both staff and locals. Ordered the food, ham egg chips and peas, and burger and chips both were excellent and plentiful and well priced, as were the drinks. Thanks everyone, we'll be back when we holiday here again, keep up the good work!

A fantastic meal at this place last night. We were in a tight spot thinking about dinner pretty late after a day of sightseeing, and with other options so far closed or closing, we were getting a bit desperate. We found this place, gave them a call and they advised last orders were in 15 mins so we made a mad dash over. Obviously getting there and ordering within 15 minutes was extremely ambitious of us, but the pub were very welcoming, very friendly and gave us the time we needed. The inside is lovely, cosy in the main house and quaint in the lean to area. Great choice of food and excellent quality - double burgers look like double burgers and there are generous slices of dessert. The staff were amazing, so patient with us even though we were quite late. Big shout out to Kevin, an absolute gem. The fact they are dog friendly was the icing on the cake. Definitely recommend!

Wow. The photos on here are of the old pub through covid. It has changed so much and looks amazing. They have a new menu and the food is beautiful. Pleasant pub near the village centre. It has several smallish drinking areas and 2 TVs for sport, but it does not feel like a "sports" pub (fortunately in my view). Food is served, but we only came in for a drink and choice looked good. 2 real ales on gravity plus a local one on keykeg are served.

Very sleepy on a Friday lunchtime, but my food was ok (chips could have done with another minute or two cooking) and the beer was cold after a long walk. So completely ok and very welcome.

Not been here for a while it has lost its quaint old look and has been modernized, not for the better I’m afraid. Quality of food has also declined severely unfortunately I won’t be back again.

Cracking place, good food and excellent hosts

We sat outside in their dog friendly garden and had drinks. Lovely service in the bar. We didn’t eat but the roasts looked good. Nice, clean pub. Outside toilets available in the garden.

Excellent pub, only discovered on our last evening on the island.We only had a few tapas style starters and drinks which were excellent quality and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Thank you

Sunday lunch. Local taxi driver recommended we book for our meals, the Village Inn was the only booking with availablity. Family of six, Sunday roasts the food was delicious. Portions are huge. We stupidly ordered fries and nachos but couldn't even finish our meals. Only regret we were to stuffed to have dessert. My 14 year old son said " imagine what dessert tastes like if the food is so good" Ended up being our cheapest meal but undoubtedly the best, not even just for our holiday in Isle of Wight. Definitely the highlight of our stay. Staff friendly, thank you so much. Honestly wish we lived here.

One of the best sunday roasts I have ever had, and everything was cooked to perfection. There were no faults whatsoever, and I highly recommend trying it out if you are in search for superb food.

Looking for a friendly pub selling draught Guinness and cider and possibly a TV showing the football. This was our third pub before all requirements were met and some, such that all 5 of us would have stayed much longer than 2 hours had wives allowed.

Good food, good value, friendly staff. Went in for dinner with a family group of 6 everyone had good things to say about the food. Price was very reasonable, beer was good too. Still remains a good venue. Not overly posh or pretentious but good solid pub. Decent detection of lagers, ales and cider. Good food, their pizzas are always a hit and some of the specials are excellent. Mostly traditional pub grub with some curries and BBQ bits.

Sunday lunch - roast pork with ALL the trimmings; nut roast ditto. Both *totally* delicious and excellent value for money …. this historic pub is like a Tardis, lots of atmospheric spaces and a sun-filled garden at the back too. Best of all, the welcome was genuinely warm and friendly and all the staff were smiley and cheerful. Just visiting Bembridge, we loved our lunch and have made a note to return. Oh, and did I mention the exceptionally wonderful chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream to finish?

Had been for cocktails before which were lovely but yesterday tried the food which was really delicious and very well priced, 100% would visit again, great service and fantastic food. Pizza was full of flavour and the black Forrest cheesecake was delicious - nachos were also top tier!!!

Great Mother’s Day treat for my wife and daughter on Sunday the roasts were amazing and staff were all friendly. Even the chef asked us what we thought of the meal which was a nice touch and I could see how passionate he was about his food. We will be back thank you.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem by chance and were delighted to discover a simple pub that serves an exceptional Sunday roast. The lamb and pork were both cooked to perfection and accompanied by all the traditional trimmings, including delicious Yorkshire puddings. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary serving of apple crumble with custard, which was a delightful finishing touch to an already excellent meal. Overall, we highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a top-notch Sunday roast experience.

Perfect quiet local spot with good prices and staff. Also loved the quiz night and customer service callers on all the tables. Great idea! You also get a whole can of proper coke for a mixer, none of this post-mix nonsense. We’ll be back again 🤩🍻

What an absolute gem. The unassuming frontage belies the fantastic, quirky interior. 5 of us dined in and I cannot fault the service, quality or the food. My only criticism would be, too much sauce on the burger. We had a variety of meals and every one of them was delicious. A must see place if you're anywhere near.

What a find!! We were told to go for the curries but several people on the island...in fact we were told to ignore the rest of the menu. Oh my gosh, they weren't wrong. The curry menu only has about 6 things on it. We had the beef karai ghost, lamb and potato Madras and the pepper chicken. We'll, it was a fantastic choice, sweet chicken, deep earthy beef and spicy lamb (and I do love potato in a curry), winning combination. Vegetarian options available all gluten free. We did get a side of chunky chips (yum). Over a lovely couple of hours we ate, drank and laughed. But I must caution you, save room for pudding. I had the retro lemon posset, him the brownie with dulche de leche. The staff have the best attitude with a quiet confidence, brilliant team work and the perfect balance between leaving you alone to making sure you felt welcome. From the outside the village Inn doesn't look much, buts it's a hot h pitch of quirky rooms going backwards full of warmth, laughter and the TV room for the sports fans. In short a wonderful evening, Stigs curries (don't miss out) and enough alcohol to stun a shire horse. For the record the non Indian food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled equally amazing. Just go, chill out and maybe miss lunch to make room for pudding. We'll done to the team superb 😁

Good old fashioned village pub. Traditional pub fayre but with curry as a speciality. Delicious.

I suppose it has beers, and some locals like it. So it serves its purpose. Didn't particularly enjoy the atmosphere or think the drinks were interesting.

Good atmosphere, with an interior and exterior. The atmosphere was assured thanks to the quality live band. Decent food. Board games are available. Young team, which compensates for their inexperience with good will.

Sat outside for Sunday lunch it was lovely, staff, food and atmosphere all good, we had roast lamb dinner, it was gorgeous will be returning in the week 😋

Don’t let the outside deceive you - this is a thoroughly modern establishment with smaller intimate rooms. The menu is extensive and varied and caters well for children. Staff are attentive and deliver a great service.

Nice food, and nice surroundings.

Last year this place was great, but this year unfortunately the service has gone downhill. Spent 30 minutes in a queue waiting to order at the bar, and there were only about 3 groups of orders ahead of us. Could tell the food wait would be long and they said 45mins to an hour. So we got fish and chips instead. If it's like that on a mid week night with empty tables don't know what it would be like on a weekend.

Great night. Friendly, Welcoming staff, fantastic food. Lovely covered outdoor seating with outside bar. Everything you want from a pub when you're on holiday. I can highly recommend the peppered chicken curry.

This was one of my favourite pubs I have visited in ages. The staff we so friendly the landlord is brilliant. The ambience in the garden was amazing. There were two veggies and a celiac (gluten free) in our group and yet there were loads of great food choices. The food that came was really good. We learned later, in the lovely art shop in Duver Marina, that the council are trying to shut down the garden area. This is so typical of councils, after Covid almost destroying the hospitably sector and with high streets dying they should be supporting small businesses. The council should be ashamed of itself for trying to close down one of the best pubs I have been to recently, we live in London where there is plenty of choice of good pubs and we still loved this one. Seriously good place to go for a meal, some of the best chips I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend if you are in the local area.

A 2 day visit to the island included a lunchtime session in this great pub. I can't fault this place; clean and comfortable interior, very helpful and pleasant staff, good wine and the food - it was a Sunday roast day - was the best I've eaten for a long time. Extensive refurbishment has produced a labyrinth of seating and serving areas at the rear of the property that should satisfy everyone. It will be the first pub I go to on my next visit to the island.

A TARDIS of a pub. The food was excellent and the service was top draw. Genuinely nice people who nothing was too much trouble. We went as a family with my autistic son who they were very accommodating for. I couldn't recommend this pub enough.
