I walk past this cafe most days and decided to go in and order their ploughman’s as a treat. I ordered one day and collected the next. They had it ready for me and opened the box for me to check it before handing it over. The food was fresh and tasty. There’s plenty and I ended up saving the cheese and biscuits for the following day. It does come with a pot of mustard and tomatoes but I don’t like either so not to include them.

Big breakfast cob had ample filling and was great value. Decided to eat in, cafe is small, well decorated and spotlessly clean with service that was quick and efficient, plenty of customers calling in to take food away, it is well worth the walk from the city centre.

Dropped in for a quick breakfast while waiting for car to be sorted around the corner. Was dubious about what the quality would be when I saw the low prices as I’m a firm believer that ‘you get what you pay for’. However, the service was quick, the food was great and they don’t hold back on the portion sizes. Had a full English but there were lots of options available. I have paid a lot more at cafes for lower quality. I will definitely drop back when in the area. Nice layout inside, owners have done a good job with a small space.

25 Park Farm DriveI had a fabulous introduction to Birds Cafe in Allestree. I visited the cafe this morning for breakfast with my daughter whilst I waited for my dog to be groomed at The Hound Hut around the corner. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my daughter's needs. They were so thoughtful and nothing was too much, even when some of my requests weren't on the menu. Thank you for such a pleasant experience - we'll definitely be back. The food was great too and the breakfast tea. The cafe is really nice inside, clean and modern with a great selection of bakery products and lots of seating available. There's always a small queue which is a good sign! Parking is ample within a minutes walk, and the doors are big enough to fit a a large pram/wheelchair through. Plus, it's dog friendly too!

43 Smalley Drive, OakwoodHad a lovely time here for my mums birthday. The Biscoff rocky road is too die for!! Unfortunately did have a problem with the drinks, the guy didn’t know which drink brought to the table was a latte or mocha 😬 I took the browner of the drinks and that was didn’t taste like a mocha. I didn’t let it ruin my day though!
