Really nice welcome, we came in early and the bat man was happy to serve food before the actual serving time. He was very nice and nothing was too much. Will definitely come here again.

A welcoming pub with a good selection on the menu. The plough burger was delicious as was the steak and ale pie, finished off with the spotted duck and custard, lovely. Reasonably priced. Heated seating as pods were available outside.

First time I have been in The Plough Inn, took my family for lunch and my son played pool. The food was the best pub food I have ever tasted and great value for money. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will certainly go back again soon

If you like cheap farm foods chips and unwashed salad straight out of the bag 🥗 and cheap farm food burgers 🍔 ... then crack on ...not for me .... dogs barking every 30 seconds and beer out of a can .... feel robbed of my £35 ... never again 😒

Food was great price at 6.95 a burger although it had no flavor and was bland

I don't understand the negative reviews on this site. Consistently good quality, enjoyable pub food at good prices and pleasant, helpful staff. This week we had steak pie, lasagne and plough burger and it was excellent. Good local village pub ambience - dog friendly and high hygiene standards. Hint - ignore negative reviews.

I was expecting some traditional dishes...I found none... Full of foreign dishes And not so good...

Food very disappointing. The barman was really pleasant and friendly but the food was not great. Everything seemed like it was frozen and really low quality. Waste of money.

I was a little hesitant reading the previous review about non collected glasses and rude staff. We popped in anyway and I’m glad we did. The pub was spotless and the bar maid (only one apparently) was exceptionally polite and I’m shocked that the previous review was so far from correct. Anyway…. Great food and we loved the pool table, darts and the outside area was fantastic in the sunshine.

I visited this pub with friends recently only the second time I have been. I have to say as a ex landlady with a wealth of experience of working in pubs and clubs, and a personal licence holder I was a little disappointed at staff attitude. it seems that playing pool and chit chatting with locals and sat giving dogs treats was a preference to serving us, the bar maid was rude, and very unprofessional making it obvious when one of our party left the bar she promptly started talking about her to customers at the bar. I had to ask if she would collect glasses crockery, and condiments from the table as it was very clutted, the bar person said that they waited as customers usually bring them back!!! last time i looked at a job description for bar staff, collecting crockery, keeping tables clean, the general pub area tidy, and actually wiping tables especially as covid is still around was on it. yes some customers do bring glasses back but surley taking their crockery back to the bar isn't expected as well is it? Our table wasn't the only table that was not cleared and not cleaned when customers had obviously left. the bar person couldnt have made it any more obvious that we were not her favourite customers, our table wasn't the only table that was left with dirty plates and glasses after customers left, surley if the bar staff had any pride in their work and work place the tables would have been cleared immediately after customers left, or are customer supposed to take their crockery back to the bar as well as glasses after food and drinks? maybe training in customer services and manners could help with this? Familiarity breads contempt and this showed in both the bar staff and some of the trusty old locals. As you can see from the pictures it wasn't too busy that things Couldn't be cleared away

Decent and well priced pints but quite tired interiors and sadly didn’t have the fire lit on a very blustery day recently. Haven’t eaten there but it didn’t look that inspired

Always drive past this pub but never been in there so we decided to give it a try ! We'll the food was very nice I had the rack of ribs and the staff are friendly it was a nice place I had crumble and custard for pudding and it was really nice I will be going in there again 🙂

We used to come in here almost 12 years ago when we lived nearby for the fish & chip Friday evenings, so on returning to the area recently we decided to try it again. Not quite the same, back in the day it was a proper fillet of fish, nowadays only fish 'goujons' which is a sign of the times presumably, I am guessing to keep the costs down. Nevertheless we enjoyed our meal at an extremely reasonable price, good beer too, and a comfortable welcome, although this is very much a locals pub so we had minimal contact with the staff which seeing as we are actually Cornish, was slightly disappointing. It loses marks for that reason alone.

We came to the Plough inn on a Friday evening at 7pm, we were welcomed when we ordered our drinks. When ordering our food, we were told that as a party of 7 had just come in ( after us) they wouldn’t be serving us food, so it was best we went else where. Shocked! Trying to support local businesses and we were turned away and told we couldn’t order.

Arrived at 2:20, notice on the door said food served until 2:30. Apparently we were 5 mins after last orders and the barman really wasn't interested.... So we left!

As an adult family who love to hide away from the crowds and visit local places for lunch, The Old Plough is fantastic. All staff are so friendly and accommodating,they make you feel very welcome. There was no, and never is, barking as others suggest, even the visiting doggies were quiet and well behaved. We love visiting every time, we stop for lunch and drinks and Today the pool table was a great addition to our visit too! The food and drink is exactly what you need, plenty of choice and tasty with great prices. Thank you to the team again. We'll visit again soon.

A bit of a mixed bag- the guy assumed to be the landlord wasn’t very friendly or welcoming - just barked at us to put a mask on (restrictions lifted weeks ago) didn’t smile or say hi or anything. The waitress was friendly though and the food was reasonable, not the biggest choice - basic burgers etc- some stuff unavailable. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry. Funny how we had to wear masks but apparent regulars can sit at the bar drinking. Seems inconsistent.

We visited this pub twice whilst staying at a local campsite, once for food, which I will say was delicious, we were a group of 7 and everyone enjoyed. Our other visit was to watch the Lions game, again we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere there. A very good pub with excellent, food, service and atmosphere.

Usually pop in for a drink and food. All the staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Felt very comfortable and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommend this pub one of the best in Cornwall!!

Wow. Just visited the old plough for lunch. The Meals was massive, price was absolutely great. From the moment of being greeted to the moment we left it was great! Highly recommend. Will most definitely return very soon!
