19 of us held a 60th birthday dinner at The Havener’s. The pre-ordering, the area reserved for us, the food and drinks and the friendliness of the staff were all first rate and made for a great evening. Thank you very much - we will be back. Phil & Susanne

Looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled up this place. The staff were very welcoming with a nice atmosphere inside. The food was very good. I have the cajan chicken burger special 👍🏻, our daughter enjoyed her southern fried chicken wrap and my wife and brother in law both had the muscle which they both said were very tasty. Would come back to agy

We have just returned from two fantastic nights staying at Haveners. A couple of weeks ago we enjoyed an excellent one-night stay at The Lifeboat Inn in St Ives (another St Austell Brewery pub with rooms) and this recent experience did not disappoint us whatsoever. Based on both of these experiences, we are very impressed by the St Austell Brewery-backed 'pubs with rooms' offering. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and shown to our two respective rooms (our children had their own). The rooms were very clean, warm, comfy and well-appointed (Elemis toiletries a very nice touch!). They had everything we needed for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Haveners is perfectly located with a stunning view of the water, right in the very heart of Fowey. The service we received was fantastic throughout and I must make a special thank you to Jade who was incredibly hard-working, friendly and helpful. She served us excellent breakfasts both mornings and went out of her way to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. We love Fowey and we we will definitely choose Haveners again as our accommodation when we next visit.

Lovely setting right on the estuary with nice views. Staff friendly and efficient and the food was great. Fish batter crispy with tasty chips. Crab great.

We had a 2 night stay and it was great although if you sleep with the window open this is not the place for you due to its position on the quay and the seagulls. Jenny in the restaurant was great.

Excellent food, generous portions and as fresh as it could be. Friendly service we and our four dogs were made to feel welcome and valued. The dogs had a treat each from the waitress who made a great fuss of them - thank you. Great views too!

Lovely Location. Food good. Location is great. However for the prices charged the food is very average. £30 for an 8oz Sirloin. £10 for some squid and dip.

The food is always good and the staff are welcoming and friendly. We have enjoyed dinner, breakfast and drinks sat looking out at the lovely view on several different occasions while on holiday in Fowey!

Great location and a very welcoming staff. We lucked out and managed to grab a roast beef Sunday lunch that was just sublime. The beef was so soft it parted with a fork and the selection of veggies was perfect with the amazing gravy. Couldn’t have been happier that we stopped in for dinner.

Just had a drink and a coffee at Haverners. The location and view is one of the best in Fowey but the real difference is the manager Lee and his team. They are so friendly and efficient it makes any visit well worth it. We have eaten here too many times and the food is very good. Strongly recommend!

Service is great and the staff are attentive, but the venue outside is a little rundown, and the views are lovely if you can ignore everyone else sat along the quay. Could do with a little TLC; the tables outside are sticky and planters are falling apart. The food is ok and a little overpriced. Still great for a drink and a quick bite, but for a relaxing meal, I would prefer to venture elsewhere.

Brilliant staff, brilliant location, brilliant food and drink. Loved the outside bar. Really enjoyed the teamwork that exists amongst staff. A credit to the fabulous Fowey!!!

We accidentally passed by this place and we didn't regret it!!!! The best food in Fowey in our 5days stay. Great service and delicious food. The onion soup was super super delicious and lobster was really fresh!

We were staying in Fowey for 3 weeks and had bookeda table at Haveners. We ordered a rather expensive bottle of wine but told the waitress we were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary so we were spoiling ourselves. We had a lovely meal (I had the dressed crab which was delicious, my husband had the steak) and we decided to share a pudding as we couldn't manage one each. The waitress bought over a huge portion of sticky toffee pudding and said it was on the house for our anniversary. How lovely! Thank you. Later on we were joined by friends for a few days and again booked a table in Haveners. My friend had emailed previously to see if they could accommodate her partner who likes plain food. They went above and beyond and cooked something to suit his taste. My friend and I had the linguine which was delicious and my husband had the burger. Again we shared the huge and delicious sticky toffee pudding. We always eat at Haveners when we're staying in Fowey and it has become one of our favourite restaurants.

Visiting fowey we stopped in at haveners for a drink and decided to eat, so had the burger and the fish,it was all very tasty and well presented,a little on the pricey side but we were at Fowey , would go again because the food was worth it and staff welcoming.

We knew a couple of weeks in advance that we would be eating at Haveners, so I emailed them to mention my partner is very plain eater and their glorious menu would be a bit of challenge for his palate. The chef was amazing, emailed me back almost immediately and asked what my partner’s favourite dish was and he would cook it for him. This was marvellous as it meant all four of us could really look forward to eating at Haveners during our break in Fowey. We arrived on a bustling Friday evening and, once seated in the restaurant, the friendly waiter took our order. I only had to briefly mention we had emailed about a plain dish and he knew exactly what I was talking about (the serving team had obviously been well briefed before service). Our drinks were served quickly and the starters arrived in a timely fashion. My partner’s special order main course of Chicken Kiev was absolutely perfect – a very large breast of chicken with chunky chips and garden peas. My friend and I ordered the special seafood linguine (tweaked to be quite mild) which had lots of juicy king prawns in it and a rich and creamy sauce – again absolutely perfect. Somehow, we managed to find space for desserts. My crème brulee was gorgeous and my friends’ sticky toffee pudding was delightful and a generous size ideal for a couple to share. It was a brilliant evening in gorgeous surroundings with marvellous food and lovely staff. Thank you Haveners.

Great place and delicious food! After 5 years of being vegetarian I decided to try a fish and I had an amazing experience! Cat was really friendly!

We had a wonderful Sunday Roast Lunch. Sat inside to avoid Sun but had a lovely sea view. Meals delicious, beautifully presented. Staff all lovely and efficient. It is very popular but can cater to large numbers of guests easily. Boat tours leave from outside so we made a hasty decision to do 2 and had a lovely lazy Sunday in beautiful Fowey.

Great to be back in Fowey and staying in the apartment again at Haveners where we received a warm welcome from Lee the manager. Fabulously refurbished with new contemporary look, and new kitchen. Views are amazing and good central location. The restaurant downstairs offers an extensive menu for breakfast lunch or dinner. We had a wonderful meal of sea bass from the specials options to quick start the holiday. Thanks to Georgie for recommending the sea bass it was delicious.

Food is an absolutely amazing lamb shank out of this world .staff excellent. Twice we have been. The battered fish was really tasty and amazing. The customer service skills. I really enjoyed the food. On Tuesday was very quiet and today was quite busy. All the staff serves the customer very well

I visited here twice on a recent trip to Cornwall. On both occasions I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious and good value. Service was also swift. If you find yourself in Fowey, I would recommend visiting.

Had a lovely meal here today. The squid starter was delicious, the batter was light and delicately spiced. And the fish and chips for main was tasty too! Fresh hake, crispy beer batter and minty mushy peas. All freshly made - indulgent and heavenly! The staff were bubbly and friendly. And we got to watch the boats in the harbour whilst we ate. All in all, a lovely evening and worth the price for a nice treat.

Stunning roast! The meat was SO tender and tasty with such a lovely selection of veg and a gorgeous Yorkshire pudding! Best roast we've had in a long time and the staff were all so lovely and friendly. Would highly recommend! Best roast in town!

Great location in the centre of Fowey, nice decor. We thought the food was good, with a focus on local produce and good vegan options too. Nice drinks, they had local Cornish wines. We thought the staff were friendly, the young man with long hair was especially knowledgeable and very helpful. The only thing that let it down was the amount of dogs in the restaurant. The ones that weren’t barking were whining like whales. We don’t expect this for an evening meal in a restaurant. Perhaps it was just unlucky. We would return 👍

Great location. Varied menu and also has good choices for children. Relaxed atmosphere with great views of the estuary over to Polruan. Calamari starter was delicious followed by the steak pie, again yummy. Customer service was attentive and excellent throughout.

We started our 10 day visit in Cornwall with 3 nights at Haveners. What a lovely location right at the water’s edge. The staff was so warm and welcoming beginning with Callum. JLo in particular welcomed us each morning for breakfast and was so friendly and helpful with ideas for our days.

Lovely place and friendly staff. But foods are pricey £19.75 for fish and chips totalled to £59.25 (x3). Mushy peas looked dry and weird it's not mushed enough and the chips are very oily and very well cooked nearly looking burnt. A disappointing meal.

Whilst visiting Fowey we managed to sit in the lovely outside terraced area and enjoy a drink whilst sitting in the sun. Drinks all good, staff friendly, happy and efficient all very relaxing indeed. A very tidy and well run modern restaurant with rooms.

I'm writing this part way through a three-week stay in stunning Fowey, which is nice, because I know we have many more lovely experiences to have at Haveners - our go-to bar and restaurant in this lovely town on the Cornish coast. So far, we've had dinner, lunch, morning coffee (twice - this is THE best coffee in all of Fowey, trust me! As for the blueberry muffins - yummy!), breakfast (absolutely the tastiest Eggs Benedict we've had in years, which is probably why we're going back for more this morning) and more drinks in the stylish bar than we'll ever remember - probably because we keep having 'just one more'! Talking of the bar, what a fabulous selection of drinks, from beers and lagers to spirits and some delicious wines, but particularly wanted to shout out the Espresso Martini from last night - my choice of 'dessert' because I was too full for one from the menu after a superb dinner of Salt & Pepper Squid and one of the specials, a spicy, packed full of flavour Chicken and Coconut curry with rice and poppadoms. I can't write a review of this brilliant bar and restaurant (a true 'haven') without shouting out the staff! Not only is everything excellent from the kitchen and bar, but there is such a lovely ambience (the buzz in the restaurant last night was a great vibe too) and friendliness from the lovely staff. Lee and his whole team make this a real destination venue! Luckily, we have a week left here, and I'm signing off now because we are heading to Haveners for another breakfast and one of those superb coffees... or two. Just lately, we keep having two each!

Had a fabulous tasty lunch here. I had the Lamb Scotch Egg, hubby had the Pulled Brisket Baguette. All beautifully served. The Management and Staff were very friendly, and professional. Made us feel very welcome and comfortable, and made sure all our needs catered for. Will definitely return in the summer.

The Haveners’ staff really cared about my food intolerances. Special mention for Roger the chef who altered dishes to suit. Enjoyed our stay in the annexe over looking the square. Lovely shower and warm bathroom.

Lovely evening meal here. Food was really really good! The red wine we choose was so amazing! Recommend a bottle of the fleurie as a glass just wont be enough!!!! Staff were very friendly and even helped us get a taxi home, which was proving really difficult! So don't miss Yr ferry back if u arrive on foot!!

The best thing about this place was our fantastic waitress… she was amazing! Knew exactly what was on the menu, what the specials were and served us with such care and attention. The food was lovely and worth the money and I’d definitely go back.

I've stayed in a few of the St Austell pubs and this one deserves a mention as being a cut above the rest. Impeccable service, a great breakfast, room with nice added touches and excellent location. Overall then a great option. See you again.

Had a wonderful 4 night stay at Haveners recently. Very comfortable room and great breakfast provided. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the option of a main menu or comprehensive specials. Lee and his team clearly put a lot of effort into ensuring guests or diners have a first class experience. We will return soon, thank you!

Excellent service, staff are very friendly, always smiling and keen to make sure you're happy with the food and where you're sitting. Food is very tasty and presented well. The views are amazing. Wow, what lovely welcoming staff, we were drenched and were looking for a place to have a coffee and get out of the rain. We couldn’t have been looked after better. We were way too early but they let us in for shelter, the poor guy hadn’t even put his bag down before he helped us. We ended up staying for a roast dinner which was absolutely delicious, the staff were very cheerful and checked if we were happy with our food. They made a grey, wet day enjoyable. We arrived without booking a table and the staff were very accommodating and friendly, We ordered some lovely Italian red wine and each of us ordered a pie. The pie was beautiful and it was like home made. The service was excellent, we were served by Justyna who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. All in all was a lovely evening, I have been before and I tried the mussels which are a must try if you like mussels. We will definitely be back !

Popped into Havener’s whilst visiting Fowey for the Christmas market. Had a really lovely lunch and have to say that the staff, though busy, were super, very friendly and helpful. The menu had ample choices, I had fish and chips, which were beautifully presented and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.

Visited here in early December with my family and I have to say, everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing. We were greeted by warm staff members from the off, looked after brilliantly throughout our meal and all of us enjoyed everything we ate and drank. The mushroom risotto was incredible! Special mention to the staff because nothing was too much trouble and everyone we spoke to was really friendly. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to come back in the New Year.

We booked for a couple of nights for my wife’s birthday! On arrival we were met by the chap in the bar who was extremely helpful and friendly! The room was clean and very comfortable with everything we needed! We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant which was lovely, again, the waitress was lovely. Breakfast was equally as good, we both opted for the full English which was a great start to the day! The lovely waitress (Jenny) was welcoming and friendly. Overall, a lovely stay for a December break! We’ll be back

I stayed in one of the rooms above the restaurant and had a meal here in the evening, staff are so friendly and attentive! I had the bruschetta to start which was amazing! I then had the burger, which was delicious and a very generous portion size! I was really impressed with how friendly the staff were, would 100% recommend coming here for a lovely evening meal and a lovely atmosphere! Thank you!

Where to start, came out for the day in fowey stumbled across this gem, sat and had coffee first thing, just having a skim of the menu decided we needed to go back for dinner. When we did they did not disappoint warm welcome, speedy but personal service with smile couldn't do enough to make sure we had an amazing evening. Will be back hopefully sooner rather than later

Family of four came in waited at the door for excess of five minutes, only for a fat bloke sitting at a table eating fish and chips waves over one of his waitresses to come greet us at the door, to which we were greeted by a rude employee. After finally being seated, we patiently awaited our server to ask us what we’d like to drink only for us to wait 15 minutes and head to the bar directly to order a drink.( something I wouldn’t expect to be doing in such a seemingly fine dining establishment). Seems they noticed us heading to the bar and they came to our table and took our food order. I ordered the beef burger, only to be served a dry unseasoned patty and chips that probably came frozen out of a bag. After leaving no tip for the poor service the same feckless ogre was heard insulting us as we left the door. Wouldn’t recommend a visit, head to the Ship Inn just around the corner for a proper meal and greater atmosphere. Disappointing :/

We had a lovely family Sunday dinner at this well located pub, right on the estuary. The food was very good with generous portions and a wide selection. Top marks to the Team who served us they provided excellent service which enhanced our enjoyment of the occasion, we hope to return before we depart this week.

We'd booked a Sunday evening meal while in Fowey. No roast dinner in the evening, but everything else was available. The pie was excellent! Friendly service throughout, and we decided to book again later in the week. Great food and service again. Probably because it was a quiet time of year and not many people were about, but my only complaint was it was quite cold in there!

Our Christmas party in Haveners was wonderful. Food was just amazing. Plenty vegetables and delicious gravy with roast turkey. I had trout to start, beautifully presented and very tasty. The team was excellent, smiley and always around in case we needed something. Highly recommended

I had a staff party meal on Wednesday and it was so delicious everything was amazing! Plus the staff are absolutely lovely ! A perfect little place !

We are frequent visitors to this beauty in Fowey, it has something special to offer in all seasons, from cosy Christmas lights to a sandwich in the sunshine looking at the water, to grabbing a coffee to shelter from the showers. Yesterday we visited and had Roasts, they were exceptional. The food and service yesterday were faultless, it was a really busy lunchtime, but the service and quality/presentation of the food remained unaffected. Can't wait for our next visit and recommend a visit if you are in town.

A group of 13 of us had our end of season dinner here. The food was from the Christmas menu and was superb. Everyone said how good it was. To match the food was the service. Nothing was too much for any of the staff. Definitely recommend it. Five stars all day long.
