We went to the antique shop this morning, staff are rude unbothered about customer service, we ask to put taxidermy behind the till just so we know it is safe as it was so fragile and didn’t want to damage it while having a look around, on the arrival to the till, notice the piece we was going buy was thrown on a table by the front door, now have notice since purchasing this item the wall mount is now wobbly and the wood is split, after paying £85, so now we have damaged goods! If you actually cared about antiques this wouldn’t happen! Don’t bother going at all!

We have eaten here before and love it but our recent visit was ruined by near Antarctic temperatures in the tearoom. We took a table near a heater and found it to be switched off. There appeared to be absolutely no heating at all. Customers were still wearing coats and even hats which made eating difficult, A 25 minute wait for even a hot drink and then a further wait for a bagel and toasted sandwich made it a miserable experience. I appreciate that energy bills are soaring but customers cannot be expected to eat in sub-zero temperatures. We left chilled to the bone and very unhappy.

Service and food here has always been good. Friendly staff and fast service. Only downside, even on a Sunday morning as you relax with a drink and something to eat - they insist on playing (loudly!) terrible 'pop' music from the 1950's and 1960's! Not relaxing at all!

First off I want to say I don't want to bash any establishment in these times but.... We had the mad hatters afternoon tea after seeing several good reviews and although the table decorations were spot on the food was disappointing. Especially for the price. I was expecting fresh and home made but there were no home made cakes (aldi cupcakes at a guess) and small packets of jam and cream for the shop brought scones. Was just expecting better.

Lovely afternoon tea in pleasantly eccentric surroundings: comfy chairs and vintage porcelain cups, together with a china teapot that poured tea without dribbling all over the table. Highly recommended.

We booked a Mad Hatter's Bash for a significant family birthday - certainly one of our better decisions. Thanks to Charlie and her colleagues we had a wonderfully happy occasion which says quite a lot when the age range of the guests was from 1 to 92 !!! Tables were beautifully decorated - food was good and plentiful - service was first class - children were well provided for with toys etc. Couldn't really ask for any more.

Charlie's tea room at the Old Mill antiques centre is definitely the place for a quick snack or an informal meal if you're visiting Bridgenorth. Themed on the Mad Hatter's Tea Party it's got something for most people of all ages. We've seen grown up and children's parties during various visits as well as family groups and people just sitting on their own having a cup of tea or a latte. There's retro music (mainly rock and roll) playing in the background but not loud enough to offend anyone unless your tastes are stricly classics or nothing older than last year. There are sofas or tables and chairs to sit on, whichever you're most comfortble with and everywhere you turn there's another Alice reference. The staff are lovely and the food is nice. Big selection of cakes and a fairly simple menu but all well prepared and presented.

We have not visited for a year or so but decided to give the tearooms another go and we were not disappointed. The food was hot, speedily served by a pleasant young girl. Lovely full English. Pots of tea and coffee in china ware. Atmospheric old room decorated in tea room style with old sofas for a casual cuppa and natter to seated tables for a proper meal. Slight down side is that clothes often have slight smell of chips after a visit, but this is not a big problem and does not detract from this lovely tea rooms.

We called in here as we wandered around the antiques centre. It looked really cosy and was playing some great music. it was late on a Sunday afternoon so some tables were packed away, but we sat at one of the many sofas and ordered two lattes. Fabulous little place, filled with some weird and wonderful stuff with an Alice in Wonderland theme. It was quite busy and very relaxing. The menu was vast and not too bad prices. Our lattes were only £2 each. They are free drinks if you are the name of the day too, Sundays name was Greg! I thought this was a great idea. A party had been for a mad hatters tea party and their table looked fabulous, along with dressing up hats, etc. There was a chalk wall, toys for the children and lots of board games around. We loved it, didn't stay too long as the other half would have fallen asleep! Would definitely recommend a visit.

On first appearance this was is a quirky, cosy and colourful little café with an eclectic mix of vintage tables, chairs and settees, appropriate for the setting within an antiques centre. It was a shame about the pervading smell of over-used cooking fat. We entered at 3.10pm and whilst we understood the need for the café to stop service of hot meals at 3pm, the lack of even a sandwich to offer from 3pm onwards left us with a choice of hot drinks, cake and mince pies the price of which would have paid for a whole box of them. We drank tea and ate a mince pie each feeling somewhat uncomfortable that the staff member was sitting there with her coat on, clearly waiting to leave. It is fair to say that at that point we understood that meals would be served until later given that the Antiques Centre was supposed to be open late on all Wednesdays through to Christmas. No explanation was offered when we were clearly confused about the level of service or food on offer. There are so many good food establishments in Bridgnorth, we really couldn't recommend this place.

Visited the tea rooms for a mad hatters tea party can I say the decor and effort made to dress the table were phenomenal like nothing I'd seen. Shame the food didn't live up to it at £45 for 3 people it was clear the buns had been purchased from marks and Spencer's across the road costing only £4. No home made cake in sight just a cake stand with ice buns and hot cross buns, but the cafe has home made cakes.... made no sense. You would be on to a winner if you sorted the afternoon tea as the table decorations are like nothing I've seen.... but as it stood it was an expensive pot of tea for 3 people- such a shame!

Our family love the Old Mill Tea Rooms - now Charlie's At the Old Mill Tea Rooms. We have been going there for years and we all know Charlie. It's our favourite venue in Bridgnorth for family get-togethers so it was the perfect location for our Dad's 80th birthday party which we've just had this weekend. Charlie was absolutely brilliant and arranged a Scottish-themed Mad Hatter's Tea Party for us - there were 15 in our party, including a lot of our Scottish relatives who had travelled from North and South to make Dad's day special. The setting, the theme, the food were all lovely. Sandwiches, scones, cakes, sausage rolls, Scotch eggs and also an endless stream of chips, tea and coffee! Charlie also knows that Dad loves his bacon and sausage butties so she had one specially made for him. Nothing was too much trouble for Charlie and her team - right down to bringing out a roll of tinfoil and some food bags so I could parcel up cake for the relatives. They really do go the extra mile and I can't recommend the venue enough. A massive thank you to Charlie and her hardworking team for everything - it made Dad's birthday a truly magical event. Tapadh leat from all the Clan!

I think someone is trying too hard to impress and getting carried away with the cooking! It was all too rich and heavy, I've never encountered a thick coating of cheese on a cottage pie nor a cement thick ultra rich gravy on liver and onions, which by the way, was served without bacon. From homemade cakes to all day breakfast, super chip butties, fish finger sandwiches, toasted tea cakes, I could go on and on. The menu is large, and freshly prepared. The room itself is an eclectic mix of furniture, tables and sofas, and the food is served on miss matched china, with forks for the cake. Super! Just how I like it! Visited this lovely country pub following recommendations from neighbours. The menu is small but full of home made dishes. As a group of 4 we enjoyed chicken and Stilton pie and vegetables, gammon, sweetcorn, chips and pineapple, chilli con carne and a really meaty pork chop, chips and peas. Really good home cooked food so much better than the normal pub grub. It also means the menu changes regularly. Sensibly priced making eating out a pleasure. Desserts just had to be tried. The whisky bread and butter pudding was suitably named and the apple crumble with custard was a winner too. The Sunday roast advertised at £9.30 will have to be tried another weekend. Delicious home cooked food is always so much better than bought in dishes. We praised the chef and June for a lovely warm welcome and a great meal.

The cafe is efficiently run and we enjoyed the rooftop seating in the sun today. Unfortunately the scone was stale. Quite a shocker for me! What a shame :(

I must echo the views of others. A really lovely restaurant spoiled by sparrows landing on the the table where cakes are being cut and on uncleared tables. Very unhygienic - there must be a way to stop them coming into the tearooms. Never encountered it anywhere else. Health and safety would have a field day!
