The Old Mill Coffee Shop in West Oxfordshire

We went for breakfast whilst staying in Chipping Norton for the weekend. All the staff were friendly, and the food is good value for money. Hubby had the Full English one morning and the bacon, sausage and egg bap the other. He enjoyed both very much.

Visiting nearby we stopped here for breakfast. Full English £8.95 which consisted of beans, in a small pot, black pudding, one sausage, two back bacon slices, one egg and two slices of toast. Not the biggest. Very tasty leek and pork sausage with the rest being ok. Nice and airy, clean with great service.Not mad on the beans. Good sound value and quality.

We were in the town and decided we would try this place. It was quite busy, they had some cakes etc in a counter near the door. We were pointed to a table we could sit at. The person who told us the table to sit at and also came to ask us first our drinks wasn't overly friendly and rushed. For a drink I tried the chocolate thickshake which was nice but it was in a small tumble glass and for the price was over priced. For food I had the lasagne which was really good and would have it again. The other food which was ordered wasn't very good though. Overall the place seemed clean, some of the food is better than other food items. Some of the staff are friendlier than others.

Been here a few times now they do all day breakfast but was served low grade cheap sausages because they ran out of the usual ones they sell. Beans were luke warm and portions are not great. I think food is not as it should be

Fast service and good value Full English breakfast was cooked well but I had to order another sausage as so nice, my better half had a Smoked Salmon and Avocado bagel (not the biggest Serving) but still very nice good coffee's and grate fresh orange juice

Such a nice cafe to have a coffee with friends or family, you can sit outside on a dry day or there is plenty of space inside, staff are friendly and service is great.

Fantastic little cafe/bistro. We had Sunday breakfast here. Piping hot, freshly cooked. I couldn't fault it. Excellent value for money (£11.95 I think) especially being in the Cotswolds. It opened at 9:00am , we arrived at 9:30 and it was already pacekd.

Nice little café with a great ambience and clean tables. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. I went there for some special bonding time with my teenage daughter and it was just the right place for it.

Staying at the Crown & Cushion Hotel up the road where there was no breakfast available during refurbishment led us to this lovely English Cafe. 4 fantastic full English breakfasts, tea and toast. Was excellent quality fried breakfast with actual proper herby sausages and fresh eggs and tomatoes. Pleasant staff. Would certainly be very happy to recommend.

We walked in and got instantly greeted with a good morning and as soon as we said we were eating in we got seated and the waiter was back with us within 5 minutes to take our order. Less than 10 minutes after ordered our food and drinks arrived together which was nice. The food was delicious, specifically the sausage and was really filling even for the standard full English. It managed to get us through the day and we didn’t even feel hungry around lunch. Good price would totally recommend!

Disappointing breakfast here after choosing it because it came out number 1 on Tripadvisor. All I can say about that is some people must be very easily pleased. Ordered scrambled eggs on toast, eggs were bland and tasteless on cheap white supermarket bread. Ham, egg and chips was greasy and again eggs were tasteless. Coffee just OK. My advice would be go somewhere else.

A good cooked breakfast (one meat, one veggie), just as described. They happily swapped the fried eggs for poached. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A large latte really was large. Nothing fancy, just honest food in a welcoming environment. Would definitely return.

Lovely people and we have eaten here for years but the last few visits you can see standards have slipped and food definitely not as good as it used to be. Poor quality products now

Lovely warm welcome from the friendly staff. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious, piping hot and plentiful. Thoroughly recommend, very reasonably priced.

Firstly I will say that the food when it finally came was delicious. I had a chicken and bacon baguette and my wife had a jacket potato with cheese/beans. The issue was the wait time which for 2 relatively easy meals took almost 45 minutes to arrive. Yes they were busy and they had plenty of staff but maybe not enough people in the kitchen I don’t know. Anyway the food was very good and we would go back again especially now we know there would be a wait.

Just an ok experience today. Order was delivered slightly wrong but not enough to cause a complaint. Food was ok but could’ve been better. Panini was over cooked, sandwich gilling was a little old not so fresh or as expected. Place was full/busy so these guys must be doing something right. Service was good and friendly. Maybe we just caught them on the hop this time as other reviews are more favourable.

We had a really great breakfast and coffee at the Old Mill. The staff were fantastic, really efficient and offered substitutions to make the Vegetarian breakfast Vegan without us having to ask.

We ate here for 2 days in a row because we liked it so much. Had full english, poached eggs on toast, avocado and egg on toast. All were cooked perfectly and the atmosphere was vey relaxed with handsome waiters 😂.

We recently stayed in Chipping Norton and due to our hotel not serving breakfast, we visited for the three days that we were there. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was just what we needed. The coffee house is also dog friendly and we were able to take our dog with us while having our breakfast. Thank You for looking after us and we will be back when we return to Chippy.

We visit this cafe regularly and the service is excellent. The sandwiches are freshly made and come with a salad garnish. Both my granddaughter’s had pasta meals and really enjoyed it. The cakes are really fresh and tasty. We hadn’t visited since lockdown and it has been refurbished which gives more space. The toilets are now downstairs too. Highly recommend and will visit again soon.

We were looking for a place to have breakfast before our adventures around the Cotswolds when we stumbled across this quaint café.Walked in, immediately attended to, when we sat down we ordered drinks which came out straight away, ordered out food shortly after and only waited 10 minutes! The food was lovely, eggs cooked perfectly both fried and poached, had a full English myself and everything on the plate tasted great, fresh and organic. We'll be visiting again!

Visited Chipping Norton to go to an antiques center and walked to the town. Passed the place once and then had a look around the town and decided to go beck and try it. This was three o'clock in the afternoon. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was good and excellent value for money. The place is a bit shabby and could do with some repainting to make it really special.

Called in for lunch today. Specials promoted Sunday Roast. DON’T DO IT! Absolutely awful. A soggy chicken leg in some herb / garlic oil, soggy overcooked broccoli & carrots , deep fried potatoes & parsnip. Packet mix gravy from granules. All covered in olive oil( or similar). I left the lot. Disgusting. Hubby had feta & spinach & salad. That was ok, but given the greek heritage. Not great. Disappointing across the board. Not again thanks !

This delightful cafe/bistro is welcoming from the outset as it is totally unpretentious which is rare in the Chipping Norton area. It offers snacks and meals or is good for just popping in for a drink. They also do takeaway. Friendly, quick service and reasonable prices.
