Stopped here on a cycle ride after reading the reviews. Perfect for lunch - delicious chunky granary sandwiches with good choice of fillings. Nice coffee. Also did jacket potatoes, soup etc and good range of local cakes. Only two tables outside which were full, so sat on grass area opposite which has a couple of tables. Would be a little tricky in poor weather as very little indoor seating. Would definitely go again but do agree with some others that the service would be better if it came with a cheery greeting and smile 😃

We visited the village after our trip to Diddly Squat Farm Shop - it's a lovely place to visit and we called in at this little cafe for coffees and teas. The service was great and the drinks were tasty...a brilliant cup of tea in a china teapot and cup! We sat outside in the sun and chatted to a local lady....a lovely hour spent here!

We we're stopping in the village for the week, so called in to get some breakfast. We stood at the counter in the shop for more than 5 minutes to be completely ignored by the lady out the back within eye contact only 3M away if that. Didn't speak at all not even a hello. She obviously didn't want our custom, best avoid places with staff who dont want actually business. We like to support small local businesses but not worth the effort here.

There is no better place than the Cafe de la Post! This quintessential little cafe is made very special by the even more special ladies who run it. Tracy, Carolyn and La are the soul of this place and Tracy is the pillar holding it all together. Living in Charlbury, we discovered the Cafe during lockdown. It was where we got our takeaways coffees and sat across the road on the little hill soaking up the view. Since then, it is a must go at the weekend and we SO miss it if we can’t go. Oh yes, and the food… honest homemade food, priced at a decent price to serve the local community. It’s a gem!!

This is a real delight. A village shop selling all your essentials with a lovely selection of wine, along with serving coffees and freshly baked homemade cakes. They do also do evening food - but i've not tried that. I'm sure it would be delicious!

Considering the kind of cafe it is I wasn't disappointed but my sausage and mash turned out (with warning) to be sausage and baked potato. Nothing special, but quite edible. Friendly staff; other customers a bit sullen!

Quite a large group descended on the cafe early Saturday evening: 5 children and four adults, all very hungry and damp from the bad weather. We had booked about half an hour beforehand, and were joined a bit later by some more of our friends...

Just awful, a full English with no tomatoes, what looked and tasted like tinned mushrooms, overcooked sausages and bacon, toast with no preserves just butter and spilt coffee. At best basic.

What an amazing little cafe. It's a mixed cafe come shop. As a shop it sells a good range of goods though the premises are small. And the lovely lady behind the counter manages to get the coffees out with cake and keep the shop...

Great place for a coffee reward having cycled up a hill from any direction, a really good meeting point when cycle parties vary in pace. The cakes are naughty but nice and the bacon or sausage bagettes provide welcome refueling options!

Extremely disappointing meal Starter of figs — expected fresh not dried- and then only 3 Gnocchi - limited amount and minimal flavour Price far too much for meagre portions Friends similarly disappointed with their main courses and a dessert order of 2 different scoops of ice cream, came with 2 of same flavour! Not asked about the meal at anytime during the evening Would not recommend

We went here to get a little desert as we have been to this cafe before and saw it had quite a good range of gluten free options. They didn’t have much left in stock so we were lucky to get what we got.The gluten free cookies were delicious, tasted really fresh and like they were homemade. Also the cake was really lovely too and tasty. They clearly list the allergens of the product on the screen protector thing behind the cakes. Also tell them about any allergies when ordering.I believe their menu is 100% vegan too.The toilets were really clean too.

This is a lovely pub, just as a local should be. The owner is very experienced in the hospitality industry and it shows. The welcome is warm and the Hook Norton beers are well kept. Where they knock the ball out of the park is the food. Fabulous home made generously portioned dishes. Just go, it’s a gem of a place.
